NCT Dream was the 7th k-pop group to perform at the stadium, and 127 was the 8th. I couldn't find the number of seats on sale. Potentially the venue can offer 69950 seats, but I think it's less for k-pop concerts.

127 already gave concerts at such big venues, but the unit was never the favourite of Koreans, so it is still was a leap of fate from SM (calculated based on albums sales, Dream concerts, the Dome tour in Japan), I guess. Both neos and the management pushed the promotion more than usual.

A lot of happened during the concerts. Yuta lost his shoe and rapped in Japanese with the rap line, was congratulated with his upcoming BD by fans. Mark found the shoe and was hyper with his friends. Taeyong showed a lot of tongue. Johnny performed his shower half-stripping number before his family. Taeil stood on a chair that was placed on a table during Tasty, also screamed. Jungwoo was told he was sexy. Limitless was on the setlist and fans chanted the old chant. Doyoung's team prepared the event for Golden Dust following his ask on bubble a couple of days prior. Fans also threw paper planes during "Paper plane". Doyoung freebies gathered long queues. There were fireworks. DoJaeJung unit debut, of course. And so on.

LSM and many SM artists, Dreamies, SungTaro, neos' friends and family members came (including the Inkigayo writers who wrote for JinJiDo, MITH team, Gongmyung and Minho with Taeyeon).

But I'm going to talk only about JaeDo, TaeDo and Doyoung's break down.

Right at the beginning of the comeback Doyoung conveyed that he had a burn out of sorts, that he was pushing through thanks to not the music, but the fans and 127 neos. The 4th album sold well (Tae said Do was very happy about it), 2 Baddies got 2 music show wins, the concert in Manila (I suppose because the fans were able to scream (the previous concerts had covid concert restrictions) and show burning support) gave neos a lot of boost. As such, despite the problems with Fanmeets at the beginning, Doyoung was getting happier by the day. Still, the comeback's schedule was packed, Doyoung shot MITH, went to promote on programmes, and neos started Link+ right after coming back from spending 2 weeks in US. It is not surprising that Doyoung finally crumbled during the second day of a huge show in Korea. There will be more Link concerts (3 in December in Thailand, for example), but Link+ was a culmination of 2Baddies comeback and of all the efforts put into the album and into the promotion in Korea.

Taeyong hinting again that Do did a lot for the comeback.

Doyoung tears up often on concerts, but it was probably the first time he really lost it (since the award show in January of 2017). He cried several times and had wet eyes during the group photo and when going to the vans. Thankfully, Jaehyun rode the same van. He got hugs (and gave hugs) or comfort from all neos. Mark, Johnny (from afar), Yuta, Jungwoo (another, again), Taeil, Haechan. Jaehyun stood far away, so all he could do is to say in English "Doyoung, don't cry".

Taeyong had his own meltdowns during concerts as well. But it was time for him to be the sronger one. I want to point your attention to Doyoung shaking his head in "yes, I want a hug". While Jungwoo tried to wipe Do's snot himself and had to be stopped by Doyoung, Taeyong offered and waited for Do's answer. Yes, Jungwoo tried to return the favour, he did what Do always does for other neos, however, Doyoung doesn't like to be babyed and to show weakness. Woo doesn't know it, while Haechan does, he only handed Do tissues without trying to fuss.

During Link concerts TaeDo didn't interact that much. Aside from some words during ments, there were no fanservice, no playing around, no bowing holding each other's hands. But it's the long hugs like this one that show who is the closest friend, with whom Doyoung is intimate to be vulnerable.

Now, moving on to the poor boyfriend, who was the only one neo who couldn't console Doyoung openly.

For Link+ JaeDo used the same platform to start and end the concert. This is where Jaehyun finally had an opportunity to get to Doyoung.

He started with a "I'm here" pat. Look how he prepared the arm in advance and paused before waving to the fans again (i.e. thoughts on the target). Then Jaehyun waited till Doyoung finished with "Stay" and they needed to step down from the platform. Notice how actively Jaehyun waved, too actively (nervously even in the second half), he distracted himself. You can see it in the way he abruptly dropped the waving, once he turned to Doyoung (and not slowly lowered his arm), it demonstrated the urgency in switching the actions.

Jaehyun gave Doyoung a quick pat and a shoulder squeeze, but didn't keep his hand on Do for long. As Taeyong, Jaehyun knows empathic Doyoung needs a reliable support. When Doyoung himself forgets about hiding due to his emotional condition, it's Jaehyun's task to remember about keeping apart.

Watch Doyoung's hand, how it travelled around Jae's body. This is the norm of touchiness that Doyoung usually supresses and controls.

Who was supporting whom? Heh. You know Jaehyun is emotional himself when it comes to love and everything Doyoung related, it wasn't easy for him to keep his cool (the concert also could affected him, it was the last encore song). However, Doyoung appreciates the adult Jaehyun and his ability to stay strong during hard times (like preparation before concerts) and give Do emotional support during his blue moods. Although there is still some restrain, the naturalness returned to JaeDo's behaviour on public. Like Doyoung hiding behind Jaehyun's back in "I'm shy, I need to hide" gesture. Or Doyoung pointing things to Jaehyun. Them high-fiving each other.

During some later NeoZone concerts there was only the moment of JaeDo appering with balloons and briefly standing near each other. The degree of them avoiding any interaction was that ridiculous.

Let's hope the new openly shown friendship will only escalate. I need the bratty Jaehyun in full force back as well.

I'm glad you're being productive. I have tried and have failed many times. I am horrible with time management and I procrastinate all the time. I'm still hopeful that I will start picking up better habits after my long awaited vacation from working a new job for months. Anyway, to the anons who are upset with Do's solo schedule not getting posted on NCT account. I'm sorry but I think it's silly. First off, I have a friend who does endorsement deals/content creator on social media. She said you can start with as small as 1,000 followers. You just reach out to the brands you want to do PR for or brands will reach out to you. You basically sign a deal/contract and go from there. My friend says with content she post on instagram and Tik Tok within a week she makes about $400US, (imagine how much money D&G gets from Do's solo stans just clicking on their site or however it works). Also, she's doing this all herself might I add, no one is helping her with her content or posting it for her. Therefore, when NCT account does not post anything about Do's solo schedule I don't think it's a big deal, because Do can post about it himself. He can basically promote himself about his solo projects to his millions of followers on social media (which he does do). Also, when you think about it he has fan accounts that will let his fans know what he is up to, so I don't think it's that big of an issue not getting a post on NCT account. If you want to argue about exposure to his non solo stans, well there are going to be articles with him in the headline with other big name stars for clickbait, so I wouldn't worry too much about not getting exposure. Also, Huh-nim does bring up a good point about the actual brand wanting the exposure for themselves and not SM. SM is basically a third party between Do and D&G. I also just want to add when asking a third party to do the bare minimum it's basically asking "If possible can you post this on social media", (emphasis on if possible, meaning if it can be done). If the third party didn't post about it, well there are other people involved that can do it too. It's really not SM's fault, because they are 1 of 3 (or more) people involved. That's just my whole two cents on this.

Anyway, Huh-nim I have a question. How do you deal with Do's idol image? I love Do's real image. The sass, his kindness, his leadership, his drive, the model son, being the prefect BF and being an overachiever. I would say Do for me is a bias, but lately I am losing interest (possibly getting bored, not sure if this is the proper wording). I think it's because he hasn't done anything new-new. All his OST sound the same (most OST do though), though I do love a good ballad song. He hasn't acted in a different genre or hasn't been in a musical. His covers are good and hearing the improvement is great, but I'm probably being selfish and just want something different vocally and musically. In other words I feel like Do hasn't done something where he is actually challenging himself (MITH was probably most challenging thing he has done last). Also, not including BA for D&G. I am not into brand name fashion, so that does nothing for me. For instance, Jae acted in one romance drama and he said I am going for different types of acting. Which I think is cool, because it shows that he doesn't want to be stuck in a mold. I also think what helps with Jae is he will disappear for a good while and comeback. I always see his fans get excited over the smallest things with him (me included 🫣). Jae could release more music/covers, but that's for a different discussion. However, with Do he's very active, like he is everywhere lol but I think he really sticks too much to his idol mold. He hardly breaks away from it. All in all, I guess I'm asking is how do you always seem to find something that always amazes you about Do when in my mind he hasn't really done anything different... I don't stan the idol Doyoung, I stan Kim Dongyoung who makes it in the industry. Therefore more things are of interest to me than just songs. Afterall, if I need a different genre for a change, I can just remember another artist and play his songs (Stromae, Miku, Gotye, Seal, BuckTick (Atsushi), even Eminem, heh).

Doyoung wants to be a singer, to sing. Everything else he does is to secure the fulfillment of this dream. Right now he is doing two things: 1) looks for more opportunities to sing live (K909, LeeMujin, the upcoming D&G thing) and 2) practices arrangement and producing (28 Reasons, Gold Dust, DJJ). As a solo singer he is at the stage of attempting to go international: the OST in Japanese, the collab with a renown Western composer, the upcoming show in Italy. It is him breaking out of his mold. (Originally he was very "I listen only to Korean songs, I need to understand lyrics to care").

As for genres and trying to sing differently: the Japanese song cover, the duet with a traditional Korean singer (which I really love), the rock song covers. He had to learn new techniques to sing in the musical as well. I think you underestimate his versatility as a vocalist, Doyoung makes it look easy.

Acting. He acted twice, and the second role was more demanding than the first one. The bullying scene. You are a bit too early to say he keeps to a mold here. He is still a newbie with first attempts.

What do you even expect to label it "trying something new"? Doyoung to pick up oil painting? Start to rap? Learn how to ride a horse? Out of all neos, he is the one to try new things (covers on YT, basking, acting, KoMS, musicals). Even vlogs were his original idea. He recorded and interviewed neos bts way back before Vlive and NCTchannels.

Watch Lipstick prince (Doyoung as a make up artist) or Law of the Jungle (Doyoung as an explorer) or ISAC (Doyoung as an archer) or Halloween (Doyoung as a cosplayer).

It's not that DY needs to be in the main unit to be more popular but the unit needs popular, capable and attractive mems like DY. 1

Only stans like to think only the "pushed" one benefits from the push but never read the cmt in the cut from DY's appearance on MITH where many asked for the info of the group. Sadly it seems too late to fix the fandom, I remember when I was impressed by Shotaro in MAW perf and learned abt NCT, the fandom in early 2021 was much more supportive of solo gigs, the fans joins the hashtag events for Midnight Cafe ost back then, nowadays I hardly see the equal support from non-DY biased. 2

It's funny to see ppl want to change the established line up, ppl who declare they hate the group but go mad when their bias is not in the main unit and ppl who want to replace a main vocal with a rapper/dancer/not as capable vocal. Not to mention things like "SM did NOTHING for my bias". Be serious. Anyway, none ruins this comeback for me as a DoTenMark bias. Hope DoTen interact more than 1 sec in the BTS. Let's start with SM not charging their trainees to pay them for education and not making them go into debt.

Did SM use WinWin to appeal to Chinese market? Yes. Did WinWin benefit from working in Korea and fulfilling his dream of being an actor? Yes. Did other 127 members hard-carried WinWin during his stay, contributing to his success by building the popularity of the group and promoting him with all the shipping and "everyone likes WW"? Yes.

It's interesting to see now how close he is to senior idols in SM. But also the type of people he's close too, most of them except for Minho are known for their vocal ability. While Minho is known for being passionate about basically everything. It's sort of like he's networking (if he had a more conventional job) within the agency.

Well, Doyoung is networking. He is close with song-writers, A&R and older idols.

Doyoung isn't close with Minho (yet). He needs to appeal to him as he is a part of Kyu-line.

This interview reminded me that moment when Suju were on Inkigayo and Kyuhyun was asking Jaehyun about Doyoung in the dressing room. I'm sure he knows Do is gay. And Do does flirt with older men without realising (most probably). We've seen it with the actors in MITH and Kangta.

Do you think the jobs that the members do are given by the agency, the members themselves are looking for it, or are outsiders asking certain members to participate?

Dy said he got a Japanese ost because the director wanted it? And he got a role in the musical because he auditioned. Then what about drama?

So what if an outsider in the industry offers a job to a certain member, can the agency refuse it? What is the reason? What else if the member has no activities

Taeil slept 14 hours today. And fans say that SM doesn't give him solo jobs even though he only depends on group activities They hope he gets a job for a drama or variety show ost.I myself thought that variety shows would not suit Taeil's personality. But if it's ost, obviously taeil had a good ost before even a pretty good chart. However, he is yet to appear on the soundtrack again.

In contrast to Taeil, Dy got a job, even though for me I haven't yet reached an iconic, even famous, soundtrack. As for the quality of his acting, it is good, but it hasn't reached the point of being suitable for the main character, even though he continues to grow.

Taeil fan obviously wanted Taeil to have a solo album before enlistment. But of course the company cares more about revenue than anything else Even though fans say talent > popularity Taeil clearly has a loyal fan, but not as strong as some of the other members both in Korea and internationally.

You listed the ways. From Doyoung we know that: a) he gets jobs from SM (duets with other SM artists, participating in charity UNESCO songs), b) singers, tv directors contact the company and ask for him specifically (Rocoberry, Midnight Cafe director, that Japanese drama director, Lee Mujin show, "Maniac" song, "Fallin'"), c) Doyoung's manager looks for opportunities and offers Doyoung to try and apply (one of the recent OSTs), d) SM gives him a short gig opportunity, Doyoung impresses everyone and is asked to stay and continue (MITH, music show MCing), e) Doyoung wants something and asks the management to arrange it if possible (KoMS, covers for YT, basking in metro, his birthday singing live).

From Mark we know that he wanted a solo project for himself at the end of a difficult and exhausting for him year to "find himself". So he got "Child". Haechan wanted a radio show, he got YT version of it for NCT channel. Johnny makes JCC. Taeyong writes and produces a lot and posts some stuff on soundcloud. Kun composes and also posts on soundcloud.

SM can refuse a group to appear somewhere, but when it comes to solo projects it refuses after discussion with the artist (schedule problems). Maybe it was different in the past, but there were no cases of neos saying the company ripped them of something (the only time I remember was Doyoung complaining he didn't get to sing in one of NCT's songs, he sang it on his BD live later).

I know in other companies 1 or 2 members in a group might get everything and others are neglected. So I get where the worries come from, they are not groundless. However, we need to look at SM's conduct. And without bias (SM is evil and wants the worst).

If Taeil is the unloved child, why did he get to sing in SMCU Winter album when Jaehyun didn't participate? Why was he given to sing Kun's song instead of Kun getting a proper solo for NCT Lab? Why does he get to participate in special stages?

Taeil has (at least) 6 OSTs (not all solo) and 2 collabs. (Jaehyun 3 OSTs, I think?)

Solo albums can't be released all at once, and there are different factors that influence the order of members going solo. SM wanting a return of investment and the idol being able to promote the album is a big part of it. Albums are not cheap. Other times it is about members themselves not being ready.

I also expected an album for Taeil before his enlistment, but then Covid happened, and then the feud happened... Taeil probably got unlucky here, he missed a timeslot and now has to wait untill he finishes serving in the army. (Probably, maybe SM will pull a surprise like it did with Dream's winter songs or SMCU winter album).

Does Taeil want to act? Have he ever expressed such interest?

Like Be it nct content or other pgm...doyoung would be in the preview or atleast on thumbnail.haha....his reactions always got me.dont knw how he always attracts the editing teams to put him as a main charecter..like one of the weekly idol where all of the nct members appeared...in that show only he got the reply shots 2 or 3 times...I think when the forieng members had to gave the words by actions .they showed his as a genius one(he is tho)..anyone could notice him from that episode..haha....like he knows what he was doing..

thats y sometimes I think u can learn somany things from him...like he is a person worth look up to..

Well, Doyoung did win the variety idol award. He is better known among non k-pop fans thanks to OSTs as well.

Doyoung is not only clever and witty, he has experience of being on many shows and working with different teams. He takes notes and tests his jokes, what works, what doesn't. The Vroom Vroom Show was the trauma he still compensates for, heh (I'm joking).

Sorry, I couldn't understand from your description which programmes you meant, so can't comment on the exact moments. It is how it is though, the editors will choose the most funny episodes, therefore, those idols who sit it out calmly won't be shown often. Doyoung is very concious about creating enough content. SM stuff sometimes includes his comments about prolonging a game or changing the rules to make things more entertaining.

Doyoung also leaves an impression on the stuff, so it could make them show bias and chose him for a preview more often.

Doyoung is very empathis and is very good with noticing other people's actions, I think it's something that you either have or don't, however, his work ethic and the way he finds weak spots and improves on them is definitely a good example to follow. Also his confidence and readiness to try something new even if he is afraid of it (like acting).

I really liked that episode of MITH with the two famous actors (one was from The Squid game). At first Doyoung was very hesitant and didn't talk much, but later he taught the actors how to take selfies and impressed with how he looked in a leather jacket. Idols to this day do the baby butt bread pose thanks to that programme. The difference in age and fame was huge, it was an uncharted territory for him, one of the actors even looked down on him as an idol, but in the end he still came out as a winner because he dared to try and be noticed. Similar to how he went closer to the evaluation committee during trainee times for the latter to hear him better.
