hot take (maybe idk) but Warden Superjail has to be the most accurate adaptation of Willy Wonka as he is in the book, without even being a direct adaptation. not literally, obviously, but in terms of characterization. like i love the movie versions on their own terms, don't get me wrong, but they are simply not the appropriate magnitude of deranged, calloused, egomaniacal manchild. Warden however-

hey! fav characteristic of each of the unsinkable eight and if any of them relate to you
hi Jamie!!
Fatin - my fav thing about her is her loyalty and her ability to take action. in her episode gretchen is worried bc fatin disappeared, and this is atypical behavior for her when provoked. When Fatin is provoked (eg her dad cheating or leah calling her out) she takes action and sends the nudes and finds water, respectively. i admire this bc i am afraid of confrontation and wish i could do things that fatin might have an easier time doing.
Toni- my fav thing about her is her capacity for love. she drew a shit hand so far in life and while she’s got some iffy coping mechanisms, her heart is still open and receptive to love even if she doesn’t feel she deserves it. unfortunately i relate to toni, which is why i’m in therapy lol
Martha - god what do i say about marty b? i love her ability to see the good in people but without sacrificing her beliefs. like when she and shelby are talking after the mussel scene and martha says “you can’t think the way you do” or smth like that. she wants to see shelby in the best light but also knows her homophobia seriously hurts toni and is unacceptable. such a sweetheart i love her and she is definitely alive :)
Leah - this is the wittiest girl on the entire mf island. she is so funny and has amazing one-liners!! i def relate to leah pre-island in the way that she wants something exciting to happen in her life and how she feels kinda stuck? like it’s easy for me to see how she got so wrapped up in j*ff who wrote a book about a young woman feeling those exact things if that makes sense??
Rachel - this. girl. has. drive. it’s kind of her fatal flaw but it’s so cool to watch her grow throughout the season and go from someone who pushes herself to the brink of death, to someone who dives for fish bc it’s more fun than whatever her assigned task was that day. like the balance she is able to find of pushing herself and others and letting go and learning to enjoy herself is awesome
Nora - all of the girls are amazing but something about nora feels extra real to me. maybe it’s a testament to helena’s acting or it’s the writing, who knows. but i love her little quips here and there and her support of rachel, even as little kids playing words in words makes my heart go pitter patter
Shelby - i rly admire how shelby allowed herself to be vulnerable with becca and toni after closing a large part of herself off for most of her life bc lemme tell ya that shit is hard!!! i still have trouble being vulnerable and this 17 year old girl just kisses her crush all willy nilly?? and tells toni how she feels?? you go girl
Dottie - oof i just want dot to have a gd break 😤 i love her leadership skills, she knows how to motivate p much all the other girls and knows the way she approaches fatin is going to be different than the way she approaches shelby or martha. she’s the only reason they’re alive but i think she also makes others feel like they have power to help their survival too
