Starting out; How the weeks been
Hey, so I started slimming world properly on Tuesday (3rd of January 2017) I can tell you now that I have not eaten any chocolate in that time, it’s not phased me although there’s been a couple of times I could have submitted due to having some synergy left to take in my daily allowance. I’ve been very good! I have however made some jelly sweets that are low synergy! I can eat them all and it would only be 3 syns! They’re made out of jelly and yogurt… I’ll find the recipe and share!
It’s been fairly plain sailing so far, I’ve eaten 3 meals a day every day - a totally new concept to me as I always used to skip breakfast! Which leads me onto…,
Overnight oats!:-
Easy to make and very filling! 1x muller yogurt (free from syns) 40g of plain oats (HEB - also free) Fruit of choice (again, free although speed foods are recommended)
Mix it all up, pop it into the fridge and it’s done, easy peasy lemon squeezey!
I have had oats every day since starting! Yesterday I used them as a snack in between lunch and dinner as I had a lie in and made my first ever healthy fry up for lunch instead! There will be a picture to follow!
All of my meals have included carbs - I’m not too sure I’m ready for those SP days yet where you cut them out completely as I love them too much! I’ve been making homemade low fat chips, homemade low fat wedges and mashed potato - all very simple to do but can be time consuming! With meal preparations I am finding myself in the kitchen for over an hour each night! Although I’m usually a lazy slob, this isn’t a chore for me.🍚🍜
Speed foods - I try to incorporate loads of these into my lunches and dinners a lot, these are the foods that will help you to lose weight quickly. So far I have used, carrots, peppers, green beans, baby sweet corn, broccoli, mushroom, tomatoes and cucumber as vegetable speeds. 🌽🍄🍅
Throughout the day I have been munching on speed fruits too - also to decrease the amount of unhealthy snackage!) these so far have been; apples, pineapple, oranges, pear, honeydew melon and mixed berries! 🍏🍎🍐🍊🍋🍉🍓🍒
Protein - Most meat and fish is free as long as the fat is cut off and it has an overall percentage of 5% fat or less, this doesn’t include processed meats as these may vary! I have had meat and fish with every meal this week. Last night I made my very own home made KFC! I’ll post a picture of it, although not exactly like a KFC it’s was very scrummy and filling PLUS I had my first ‘sauce’ of the week! GRAVY!!! I love gravy and this one was simple to make from scratch with lots of taste!
All of the meals I have made so far are really appetising and definitely hit the spot to keep me going for longer!
On Thursday I took my measurements (my scales are broken so for now this will be my way of seeing if I am losing, I won’t be taking them again for quite a while as I imagine it takes some time to see a difference!) they are as follows;
45" bust (about 5/6 of that is boobage!) 40" waist 49" hips (my hips are wideeeee!) 27" thighs 14" upper arm
Hopefully I’ll see these sizes plummet at a slow and steady pace! I’m so excited!
My exercise for this week hasn’t been great and I’ve found that slimming worlders call it 'body magic’ which just sounds amazing! I work in a busy environment with young children and so am always active but probably not to the extent I need to sit down, wipe the sweat off and guzzle water!
I have been for a couple of long lovely walks with my dog and I did have some kind of big work out because I got stuck in some sticky mud! The mud clung to my wellies and so must have put about a stone into my weight! My legs certainly got a workout it was like having a small child clinging on for dear life! 👌🏼💪🏻
Tonight I’m planning on making some carrot and potato mash and I might put some quark into it… I’d never heard of it either until this week, it’s a very low fat cheese made from skimmed milk so I don’t have to syn it and hopefully it will make my mash nice and creamy! I’ll let you know how it goes!
I’m off to take my dog for a nice long walk again, I’ll keep you updated!!!
