Hot take from Mike's monologue at the end of s4

- Will standing behind Mike is part of the 'boy' imagery that's been following Mike.

I agree, I also think it just sort of shatters the moment not just because of will but they also show jonathan during it and I find it so weird they'd show other characters during a love confession scene. very different from mike's monologue to will in s2 where it's literally just them. also I want to add how important it is actually that jonathan is involved with these intimate moments between byler and milkvan. jonathan obviously overheard some of their conversation in s4 in his bedroom, because they pan to jonathan in the hallway as he interrupts them. jonathan also interrupts them in will's bedroom. jonathan is there to witness will practically confess his romantic feelings for mike and he watches the entire thing play out. THEN, jonathan is there to see mike's bullshit love confession to el in SBP. I think it's not only because jonathan is angry and upset his brother's heart is being broken but because jonathan suspects that mike has feelings for will too. idk if that's controversial or not within the byler community but I'm so convinced the reason they showed Jonathan throughout all of these important byler scenes plus mike's monologue (and even Jonathan comforting will during the pineapple pizza thing) is because they're showing us that not only is Jonathan confirming his suspicions that his brother is gay and likes mike, they're also telling us that Jonathan is watching mike during all of this too and he suspects mike might actually like his brother back. I APOLOGIZE FOR GOING OFF ON A TANGENT ABOUT JONATHAN. but I think literally all of this stuff correlates. the fact that they showed will during Mike's big "I LOVE YOU" is crazy enough it itself, to show his big sad baby cow eyes and how fucking heartbroken he is realizing this is the "thing" mike couldn't say to el but to also show JONATHAN? insane to me. truly bonkers.
