Lestat/Armand

Armand couldn't help but scoff at Lestat's satisfied face, as he said : "Why would you want to go ring shopping with me? You already bought Louis a ring."

"Yes, I know." Lestat arched a brow in Armand's direction, usual flirtatious smile teasing at his lips. Utterly aware of the effect he had on Armand and reveling in it. "I was there, incidentally."

It wasn't that Armand wouldn't have otherwise been able to deduce the situation if it had been Daniel or even Louis...

Lestat suddenly hurrying him off the street and inside the shop of one of Paris's most expensive jewelers. Exclaiming, "Let's take a look!" with a breathless enthusiasm that was rarely seen now at court. His golden smile lighting up his face with a childlike excitement that made Armand's heart clench in his chest for reasons he couldn't quite decipher.

But it wasn't Daniel or Louis, it was Lestat. And the sometimes spoken but usually unspoken thing between them was just that.

"Lestat," Armand tried again, softer now, not wanting to damper his spirits. Spoil whatever moment this was, could be. "I don't understand."

He stood so close he had to tilt his chin to see Lestat's face.

Lestat, expecting a kiss, instinctively bent down to meet Armand at a height more comfortable to him and was granted one; sweet and chaste as Armand resisted the urge to devour him whole in front of a mortal audience.

"You do understand," Lestat's voice was rough as he pulled away, his large hands coming to cradle Armand's face. "I know you do, my love."

Love.

Armand hummed as he licked at his lips, savoring the taste of Lestat on them, unmistakable and pure. Placed his hands over both of Lestat's to ground himself in the present, willing his heart to remain open. Allowing it to be hopeful. "I need you to say it," he whispered. I need to hear it. I deserve to hear it!

Lestat sighed, his grey eyes scanning over Armand's head, his breath picking up to match his nervous energy. Stay with me, Armand silently pleaded, knowing how mercurial his prince's moods could be. How much he'd always been at Lestat's mercy even when Lestat himself didn't know it.

"Armand?" Lestat's gaze returned to him now, threatening to consume him with the intensity of it. He sounded as vulnerable as Armand had ever heard him.

"Yes?"

"Wear my ring! Be my Blood Spouse as Louis is! I would have the two of you together with me, for all eternity!"

It's so Lestat, not asking on bended knee but fervently demanding a vow Armand never thought he desired up until this very moment.

Yes. Of course. I'll wear your ring however long my immortal life may be, even when I'll want to rip it off and throw it in your face.

But Armand couldn't say any of that. He was too overcome. Instead he merely nodded, his face still gently held in Lestat's hands. Opening his mind and hoping Lestat heard the loving sentiment echoed in each word, even the crude ones.

"Good," Lestat kissed him again, beaming once more. "Very good."

i just keep thinking about how maximum ride is actually already primed to do that whole "sequel series about the protagonist's kid where we find out the protagonist was a horrible parent for no reason" because you know what? max did have reasons to be a horrible parent! she would've been a bad parent because she wasn't raised right! she wasn't even raised!! she got 2 years with jeb acting like a normal dad (during which he didn't even tell her that he was her dad) and otherwise, it seems like her only frame of reference was those few months with anne and then whatever she saw on tv. james patterson didn't have to have max abandon hawk for her to be a bad mom, but he opted for that instead of admitting that, yeah, max is unsuited for motherhood and, in fact, wouldn't have WANTED to be a mom.

I was just scrolling through Tumblr, when I found some art posts (these were all made by @iriyaices btw) about Cole having Synesthesia, which to me sounds really cool!

If you don't know what Synesthesia is, that's okay because I had no idea it existed either! Synesthesia is a genetic condition where the person has unusual perceptions of the world. An example could be that someone could feel the sound of instruments on their body, or, in Cole's case, he sees colors based on the sounds of other peoples voices.

According to the article I read from the APA (American Psychological Association, yes I'm American) it's very rare, with only 1 in 2,000 people having the condition, 1 in 300 having a variation of it.

The examples shown by the artist were that depending on the mood of the person, there would be a different color.

If any of y'all have this, then all I'll say is that I am very jealous. I get there are cons to having this condition, like any condition (for example ADHD, I would know. Because I have ADHD) , but it also sounds really cool, and it's one of those things that make people unique!

Also I now headcanon Cole as having Synesthesia.
