I'm curious about your reaction to watching 9-1-1. I suppose it's not realistic to ask for your thoughts on every moment of every episode, so I will settle for the broad strokes in whatever level of detail you prefer.

Oh, boy. Here we go.

I'm going to keep things specific to 9-1-1 and not 9-1-1 Lone Star (except to declare my love Tarlos!!), because to combine to two would be... a LOT!

First, I think the ensemble cast is amazing! I also love how the series began with a focus on the 911 operators and their contribution as first responders. I wish Lone Star leaned a little further into that dynamic than they currently do.

Although the scenarios can sometimes seem outlandish, I recognize that it makes for good television, and some of my fave episodes encompass the major disasters they face versus the 'run of the mill' calls. I also really like that the show takes it time and will run a narrative through several episodes rather than trying to pack too much into one.

The various relationships are AMAZING. I adore how Athena and Michael have been able to remain close and parent their kids while navigating a complicated shift in their relationship. Hen and Chimney's friendship gives me all the warm fuzzies. Athena and Bobby are chef's kiss, as are Madney. AND IF BUDDIE DOES NOT BECOME CANON SOMETIME SOON I. WILL. RIOT!!!!!

And can we talk about the whump? There is some delicious whump in the show. Not just from the main cast (although I LOVE me some Eddie whump), but with the guest stars who are involved in that week's emergency. The peril and pain and panic is a treat in both series (Don't even get me started on Eddie getting shot by the sniper or T.K. and hypothermia. Oof.)

Basically, I'm all in. There are very few shows that I'm willing to stay current with week-to-week and both 9-1-1 and 9-1-1 Lone Star have earned that designation.
