homelander’s favorite movie would definitely be national treasure. i mean, it came out near the beginning of his career, and it’s basically an american fairytale. i imagine it would be a comfort film for him where he can self-sooth through fangirling over the founding fathers. okay, now that i'm done crying, confession time: i've never seen national treasure. HOWEVER. it looks goofy as hell (affectionate), and i LOVE the idea of this being Homelander's comfort movie. i'm definitely getting the 'modern american fairy tale' vibe from it. it's relevant to his interests and over the top enough to be engaging on multiple levels. this is like. national treasure would be to homelander what van helsing is to me. i LOVE this headcanon.
