The reason Sans and Papyrus are the only options for each-other is because nobody they've tried dating has been okay with their brother coming first. They all think they'd be fine with it because sometimes family is family and all that, and they even get along well with both of them, but when faced with the reality of it, they can't take it.
(I use "they" to be ambiguous between both brothers way too much to also refer to the hypothetical datemate as "they" also, so I'll just use "you". Sorry lol)
Canceling plans because their brother had something come up (which wasn't even very important). Turning dates into hangouts because their brother wanted to come along. If it's not just the two of you, you aren't getting much attention. Even if it is, if there's a text or call from their brother, the phone's coming out. A good chunk of what you end up talking about during dates is their brother anyway. If money's tight around gyftmas, their brother is the one getting a gift. If asked who they love more, there's no dilemma, hesitation or thought: they always answer their brother's name. If you and their brother are in danger, it's their brother's side they run to.
You wonder to yourself if you can even call yourselves lovers. You feel like more of a third wheel to the brothers' relationship even as it's platonic.
The relationship ends as you angrily tell them they should just date each-other if there's no room for you.
They hear that a lot. Maybe they really should.
~~~
I would absolutely read an xReader/OC fic where it's literally just the reader/OC getting innocently cucked by whichever brother they aren't dating at every turn.
This one wasn't supposed to be one of them intentionally sabotaging the relationship, but sometimes I kinda like that too. "If I seriously told him you make me uncomfortable, he'd drop you in a heartbeat. He'll pick me. He'll always pick me." And he's right.
How each goes about taking their first d☆ck. Unless otherwise noted, they're on top and in control of the pace, and have either never been penetrated before or at least have never been penetrated by something bigger than two of their fingers. And of course are with their bro.
I'm boring and think of vajimbos but feel free to imagine a butt instead.
~~~
UT Sans: Agonizingly slow. Needs to rest after nearly every centimeter. Tries really hard not to breathe weird or make noise, unwilling to admit he's not just messing around teasing. By the time he's fully seated, he's out of breath from holding it for so long. Won't admit how overwhelming it is, but can't help but cling to Pap's ribs.
UT Papyrus: Worked himself up thinking it was going to hurt terribly, and the discomfort doesn't live up to the hype, so he takes it smooth and easy. Doesn't stop; finds the continued motion helps dull the slight pain.
UF Sans: It's a heat-of-the-moment thing, so neither of them are really thinking about it when Papyrus pushes him down, and he's surprised by just how much it hurts and ends up kicking Papyrus in the face. Thought lube was for quitters, so they don't have any, and he grumps around while waiting for Papyrus to get back from the store. Papyrus yells about the huge mess Sans makes using more than half the bottle all at once, but Sans snaps back, "shut the f☆ck up. what you gonna do, f☆ck me to death and use me like sawdust to clean it up?? friggin chad thunderc☆ck's out for blood over here, if he can't rip through your taint, he'll bludgeon you with his damn python." and squeezes out the rest of bottle just to be a shit. It still hurts like a motherf☆cker, of course, and Papyrus lets Sans beat on his chest to help distract from it. Says there's not going to be a next time, but changes his mind about half-way through the night.
UF Papyrus: Learned from the above disaster. Brags about how he, unlike Sans, is not going to waste half their night on something so trivial. Is pretty good about hiding his discomfort, and even tells Sans he was being dramatic that time. The banter is a good distraction from the fact that he's not quite f☆cking Sans stupid like he said he would. He'll make good on that promise next time.
US Sans: Doesn't expect it to hurt, so he goes at it with a little more gusto than he should. Very vocal. He pauses after the head, but he doesn't stop for long, not wanting to back down. Nothing he can't handle!!! Has to be told to slow down.
US Papyrus: Tries to play it cool, letting Sans take the lead, but he's actually really worried about it hurting. Tries to endure, but he curls away with a pained groan and worries Sans, who pulls back out. Papyrus ends up crying just a little from a mixture of pain, embarrassment and feeling like he's ruined the evening. He admits he had been looking forward to this, even though he was nervous. Sans calms him down, offers to stop or keep going. Gently works him open until they're snugly joined. (But I also just like to think of this Papyrus as delicate. (*pq′ー`) He never fully adjusts to how girthy Sans is, so it always hurts at the start even with extensive prep. He learns to not mind it, and then enjoy it.)
SFR Sans: Sets the evening up as a very slow, sensual, teasing atmosphere. Tells Papyrus he isn't allowed to move. Distracts them both with kisses so neither of them are thinking too hard about how slowly he's working himself down. It actually hurts like a b☆tch, but he's glad to feel it. Glad they can share this.
SFR Papyrus: Takes it all in one go, slamming down, groans and comes immediately. It feels like something tore. He's crying. Sans, worried, asks what he should do, but he takes so long to answer. When he does, he just begs Sans to move. It hurts too much to move on his own, but he doesn't want to stop. He doesn't stop crying. It'd be less awkward if he could articulate that he likes how it hurts, but he's just too overwhelmed at the moment. He's sad that it'll never hurt that same way again.
SFP Sans: Most of the time is spent just looking at it. Snaps "DON'T RUSH ME!" when questioned. It's annoyance that gets him to actually do anything, but he needs to pause after a couple inches. He stalls once it's all in, not wanting to admit he needs time to adjust.
SFP Papyrus: Lets Sans do what he wants. Tries to cover up his wincing with complaints about Sans's lack of a delicate touch, but Sans goads an embarrassed admission out of him that it's his first time doing this.
FSG Sans: Sans had asked Papyrus to lead and planned to endure any pain for his brother's sake, just wanting him to feel good, but Papyrus refused, too worried that he'd hurt Sans even with instruction. Sans still largely sets aside his own discomfort, taking it a bit faster than is comfortable for the sake of assuring his brother he's fine.
FSG Papyrus: It's an all night process. He flinches away once it starts to hurt and needs a break. Sans keeps asking if he's sure he wants to do this, but he's determined. They eventually get him fully seated, but it's still too much to really work with, so they just sit still for the rest of the night. He's too sore to try again for a few days, and the next attempt goes about the same. Fourth time's the charm, and he apologizes for the trouble, but Sans assures him he's enjoyed simply being joined with him plenty enough.
HT Sans: Lets Papyrus do what he wants. A sharp inhale makes Papyrus stop, ask if he's alright, but Sans shortly just tells him to keep moving, that it's going to hurt no matter what anyway. Just do it. Papyrus tries to go slow anyway.
HT Papyrus: Is so enamored with the idea (and used to most things hurting) that he doesn't really notice it or let it slow him down.
UL Sans: He was begging Papyrus to take him anyway. He's not going to make him stop now. He cringes and groans loudly, and Papyrus tries to pull out, but Sans locks his legs around him and says it's fine; it's supposed to hurt. A little teary when he asks Papyrus to please keep moving.
UL Papyrus: Kind of regrets just going for it, but stopping part-way would hurt worse. 'Fights back' against the pain by bouncing harder. He'll have given himself a limp by tomorrow.
G Sans: Lays back and is super flippant about it. Pokes fun at Pap for putting so much effort into preparing him. Stops laughing when Pap nudges inside, whimpering a bit. When asked if he's okay, he tries really hard to play it off, says he was just trying to get a rise out of Pap since he cared so much. Papyrus sees through his bullsh☆t, kisses him sweetly, and kindly says he'll be more gentle. Sans grumbles to himself that Pap is way too suave, but he's putty in his hands already, wrapping his arms around his brother's neck and melting into how much tender care he's receiving.
G Papyrus: The only one of them to have used a reasonably sized toy first. Slowly acquainted himself with the sensation on his own so he wouldn't end up being the reason a nice evening needed to stop or pause. Sans is pretty salty about it since Pap made Sans's first into such a damn event.
~~~
US Sans (alternate): It doesn't hurt at all. Papy tragically has a pencil d☆ck. Since he takes it all at once, Papy expresses concern for him, and Sans has to make the snap decision on whether to be honest that he can hardly feel it or pretend in order to save Pap's ego. (If the truth ever comes out, Pap will be devastated, ask why Sans let it go on that long, and Sans responds "BUT YOU WERE SO CUTE, THRUSTING AWAY LIKE THAT. LIKE YOU WERE GETTING SOMEWHERE. IT WAS REALLY CUTE, PAPY." and like, it's not like he wasn't laughing at him, but it wasn't in a mean way, but it's difficult to get that across. For Sans, there's something endlessly endearing about Papyrus trying so hard but being unable to pleasure him. He's not sure what this k☆nk is.)
UF Sans (alternate): Wants it to hurt. He spends his life trying so hard to avoid getting hurt, and he knows Papyrus would never harm him. He wants to feel his brother safely break him. A wonderful pain that symbolizes their trust and love. He urges Papyrus onward, freely cringes and groans in pain, pulls Papyrus closer when he tries to pull away, begs him not to leave, to keep going.
(Underfell)
Sans starts wearing a collar by his own choice after the first close call during a fight with one of the dogs. Just a cheap, already well-used second-hand thing with some of the spikes worn down or missing. It does the job, though; no jaws go for his neck again.
Then Papyrus gifts him a new, hand-crafted one for his birthday one year. Tells him the old ratty one is an eyesore that he's sick of looking at.
For a while, it's just a really nice gift that his brother gave him. He wears it the same way he did the old one; only when he's going to be around people who might want to chew on his neck.
Then he starts wearing it more often. Most just assume he's too lazy to keep taking it on and off. Papyrus first worries that he's not feeling safe even in their own home anymore, but his posture is still slack and easy, he still sprawls out on the couch like nothing can get him, and he's more often found picking at the collar—running a finger over the top edge of the leather, thumbing the buckle, tapping the sides of the spikes—with a fond expression on his face.
Then he starts to notice Papyrus. Just how capable he's become, how unbending his morals have remained in the face of everything, how smooth his stride is, how... not cool, but cool he looks in his armor. How safe he feels when they're just standing together. How much he misses the hugs they used to share when they were younger.
As he presses a palm against the buckle to better feel the inner side of the leather, he thinks maybe he's getting a little too much out of this one gift. This one gift that was meant to help keep him safe.
After one of their many harmless back-and-forths gets just a little more heated than normal and ends up with Papyrus lifting him off the ground by that collar, he knows he's getting far more from the gift than ever intended. He concedes way too easily, trying to casually slink off to his room, confusing the heck out of Papyrus who had been waiting to counter another of his smartass comebacks.
One hand pulls at the collar around his neck while the other pulls at his c☆ck, the memory of Papyrus effortlessly holding him up without a worry for the spikes still fresh in his mind. He doesn't question what it means, or what he's learned about himself from the ordeal until weeks later when the guilt has had enough time to settle. It was a position he'd never imagined himself in before, and he tries so hard not to make a habit of jerking off to thoughts of his brother—to try and backtrack this sick fixation he has far enough that he at least doesn't need to concentrate on a poker face when looking Papyrus in the eye.
But Papyrus makes it really fucking hard when he's discovered he can win almost any argument by grabbing Sans by the collar, and he has to put two and two together eventually. He grabs the collar, San becomes putty and runs off with his metaphorical tail between his legs before what's actually between his legs becomes immediately obvious.
A few months later, Papyrus undoes the collar and pulls it free from around his neck. Sans panics, absolutely sure that the cat's out of the bag and he's wrecked the greatest good he's had and ever will have in his life. The gift is being taken back as a sign of disgust and the best he can hope for is an eternal silent treatment.
Then it's replaced with a new one, gently adjusted tighter until he can feel some type of engraving on the inside. Papyrus's fingertips leave an extra little jingling noise behind as he pulls away. Sans reaches a hand up to feel, and there's an extra ring near the buckle that the old collar lacked. He looks up with wide, cautiously hopeful eyes.
Maybe they should have just sat down and talked about it like adults first. Maybe it wasn't best that Papyrus just hooked a phalange through that shiny new D-ring and led him upstairs. Maybe the first time he said 'i love you' in a way that brothers shouldn't, shouldn't have been while he was speared on Papyrus's c☆ck and struggling to breathe through how tightly the collar was being pulled against his neck. But he doesn't regret hearing it said back to him after his brother retracts his tongue from his throat, the words breaking the string of saliva connecting them.
They'll hash the details out later.
By which I meant I ran out of steam hahaha
I think Papyrus would be most obsessed with kissing, with hardly any reservations about when or where. They're keeping it under wraps, so he can't just go kissing Sans silly in public, but if that wasn't a factor, he absolutely would.
As it is now, though, he just kisses Sans whenever he feels like it. And he feels like it at very inconvenient times. Sans is busy with something? Interrupted. Papyrus is cooking? Dinner's going to be a little more well-done than normal. Papyrus is showering? Calls Sans to the bathroom and yanks him half-way in. Sans is sleeping? He's slept through it before, it'll be fine. Middle of the work day with nowhere to hide? Taking a lunch break, carting Sans all the way home.
He's just. Gotta kiss.
But they're the kind of long, intrusive kisses that most people would expect to lead up to more. For Papyrus, though, that's just an expressive kiss. He's feeling love very much right now, so the kiss has to also be very much!
He's overwhelming.
Mast☆rbating with their clothing is hot and all but
How about just sleeping with it
Taking the jacket, the scarf, or each-other's pillow, or completely curling up in the other's bed just because the scent makes it easier to relax.
The exaggeration of Sans's sleeping habits is still cute.
Oops he fell asleep, gotta carry him. Papyrus going through his day with Sans on his back. Scarf dimensions were decided with the option of using it as a rucksack to put Sans in in mind.
CW: Death, but of the universally relatable kind rather than the tragic plot device kind.
~~~
One of the reasons I don't like a large age gap between them is because of the eventual end.
That's one of the biggest reasons to still keep within a couple years of your own age even if you're over the hill and the difference between someone 10 years older or younger isn't much anymore. Because even if you do everything right and you're lucky enough to both have good health for your entire lives, your time is finite. Every extra year between you is another year one of you will be walking the end of your road without the other.
And I like to think of them staying together. They made it to the surface, they survived the ordeals that human society probably put them through, and they thrived under the sun. Time would pass and they would slow down as we all must.
And I want them to reach the end of that road as close together as possible. Not have to see sunrises alone while thinking how many the other would have loved to keep seeing. If one must attend the other's funeral near the end of their days, I want it to be with the comfort that they won't be far behind.
It's a sweet thought that Sans raised his little brother, but the pain of a long separation outweighs it for me. Papyrus facing his final one or two decades likely all alone, without his brother or his friends since he was so much younger, is just too sad for me.

hc: Papyrus is a cat person because they remind him of Sans
They're also less likely to chew on him! Big plus!
He's warned about the flighty, fickle nature of cats early on, but he quickly finds he's already more than well-equipped for it. The cat seems like it wants attention, approaches his waiting hand until it's just out of reach, then leaves. He's annoyed, but not as much as he thought he would be. Feels like he deals with the same thing regularly.
Going in and out and all around and ending up in weird places. "HOW DID YOU EVEN GET UP THERE?" he questions the howling furball as he pulls it from on top of the ceiling fan. It only responds by ragdolling over his shoulder. He doubts it was actually stuck up there. Sans is never truly stuck anywhere he gets himself, either. At least Sans isn't as violent about extricating himself once they're back on safe ground.
The cat walks in front of him and stops as if it's trying to trip him. He maneuvers around it easily, far too used to stepping on the backs of his brother's shoes from Sans trying the exact same antics to try to annoy him.
The cat turns its nose up at the same food it was scarfing down yesterday. He can almost hear Sans's voice, "huh? what? that stuff? nah, i don't want it." He doesn't indulge the bratty beast by getting it something different--after all, any time he ate what Sans said he didn't want, Sans would always come back later and ask what happened to his leftovers.
The cat naps more than anything he's ever seen before. He nags it for sleeping on its very important mouser job, but it just stretches then curls back up to sleep. It's... a little cute when it does that. He remembers Sans turning over to go back to sleep.
He finds both it and Sans buried in the basket of warm laundry after he finishes emptying the drier. He's not sure which one is purring louder.
I can imagine a cat kind of tipping him off to the fact that he kind of finds all those behaviors a little endearing deep down under any frustration.
Did you know today (February 22nd) is Cat Day in Japan?

Pre-confession, Sans accidentally catches Pap mast☆rbating while calling Sans's name, and Sans is super intimidated by just how rough Papyrus is being with himself. Like holy f☆ck are you trying to set it on fire?? Rip it off?? Like sure he's turned on by it but he might just die if that's how hard Papyrus would go.
Extra points if he's using something like a t☆nga egg and he breaks it. (Okay nvm after writing this down, I looked into it and those are apparently really easy to break even with a micro p☆nis. So alright, fine, up the ante, he's using a too small fl☆shlight and breaks it with his stupid monster schl☆ng.)
(Also, there's ART!! by purplebluepen45!! It was posted to tumblr so much earlier than this post because there's a big delay between when I post stuff on twitter and when it gets posted here.)

Papyrus immediately dons a lampshade at parties before he's even started drinking. It's just the thing you do at parties, but there's only so many lampshades in a house, so he gets one early before they're all taken!

Papyrus accidentally sees the Swapfell bros going at it, with SF!Sans sweetly, gently, destroying his brother's ☆ss. Pap's been the top in his and Sans's relationship so far, thought that was just how it was supposed to be, but that absolutely blissed out look on SF!Pap's face as he begs for more has him curious, longing, envious.
The next time he and Sans are intimate, he can't stay aro☆sed because he's realized just how not-into topping he is. Sans fusses over him, asking him what's wrong, and it takes some prying, but Papyrus admits he really just wants his older brother to take care of him. Sans is super supportive, praises him for being honest, and lays him down. But all Papyrus has ever summoned before has been a d☆ck, so that's all he's got to work with right now on short notice. Sans still praises him, climbing on top and riding him nice and slow. Promises that they'll work on this, that the next time they make love, he'll take Papyrus's v☆rginity all over again. "* WOULD YOU LIKE THAT? BEING WRAPPED SO SNUGLY AROUND ME. I'LL BE SO GENTLE, PAPY, I'LL LOVE YOU RIGHT--" and Pap is gone, already coming, crying at that fantasy, that promise.

More giant c☆ck Papyrus
Maybe they work at it for a long time. Get a bunch of toys in increasing size, or a speculum, trying to slowly stretch Sans enough to at least take the girth. With how sore it leaves him, it takes a couple months before they can even try.

Did You Know? Depending on your lib☆do and other hormone levels, regular org☆sms can be necessary to help regulate your emotions.
A common way to portray UF Paps is angry all the time. 👁️👁️
… It's pretty obvious when he's finally gotten to nut. It takes a long time for him to realize that that's why he gets in a better mood sometimes.
Or conversely, the first time they're separated for a while and he doesn't have any time to himself, he doesn't realize that that's probably why he's so easy to anger lately. It kinda pisses him off.
(And it's either a disappointing time or a great time for Sans when they're finally back home together. Either not going to last long; making up for lost time; or channeling all of it into angry s☆x.)
~~~
I'm kinda mad at me that I didn't have much to expand this into. I'm sure someone else could.
