hi! any tips on how to pass idle?
hi anon, good morning!
for those of you na curious, idle stands for the interior design licensure exam
some tips i can give you for the idle:
read - i feel like if you read consistently, naturally mamememorize mo nalang talaga yung mga pinagaaralan mo; don't think of it as a chore, pero isipin mo nalang na you're literally reading about how interior design started and how a space is created para its more interesting and para mas ma remember mo siya
work - i feel like working before reviewing and taking the board exam really helped me kaya whoever asks me for tips, i always try to like tell them na if you have work experience muna then that will help cause then taking the test would be a bit easier kasi youve already experienced the real thing, now you just have to put everything on paper
practice and research - for those na wala pang work experience and decided to take the exam kaagad after lets say college, the best tip talaga is to just practice and review and research as much as you can; don't just rely on the reviewers but also watch movies na may interior design element in them para maalala mo sila (like period films or even documentaries)
stick to a routine - i feel like having a routine really helps kasi again, its all about training your mind and having a routine for so long with reading all about interior design will help you grasp all the important things you need to remember; stay hydrated, don't beat yourself up too much, rest in between (very important para hindi ka maburn out) and sleep
pray - pray, manifest, say affirmations out loud, isulat mo sa whiteboard yung gusto mong mangyari (i did this! i literally had a small white board sa room ko and i put "idr. bianca barican july 2022" on it), lahat ng pwedeng paniwalaan, maniwala ka na, lahat ng kasabihan, gawin mo na wala namang mawawala if you do them (for example, mag suot ng red na panty during the exams, right foot first pag papasok ng venue) as in LAHAT gawin mo na and pair that up with hardwork? fool proof; pasado ka na niyan
this is all easier said than done but at the end of the day, the most important tip i can give you is just to try your best, study well, take care of yourself, believe in yourself, and don't be afraid to let people know if you need help
you got this, future idr! i believe in you so much, love!

How to become an expressionsinside
Interior Designer/Interior Decorator
Many people romanticize interior design and assume that it is a simple task of choosing colors and fabrics. These duties are closer to interior decorating. An interior designer is responsible for a variety of tasks that go beyond interior decorating. These responsibilities include space planning, color coordination and providing estimates to fit a budget. They also include expressionsinside  subcontracting for the fabrication and installation flooring, light fixtures and draperies, paint, wall coverings and furniture.
Designers are increasingly involved in the architectural aspects of building a home. Therefore, designers must be able read blueprints and have a working knowledge of building codes. An interior designer should have knowledge of CAD software and home design software to create blueprints or presentations for clients.
Entry Requirements and Training
Until recently, there were no accredited programs in America for budding interior designers. There are now a variety of accredited interior design programs at institutions that are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and Council for Interior Design Accreditation. These programs usually last between two and five years. They often lead to an associate or bachelor's degree. These programs can include expressionsinside  courses in CAD, furniture design and color, as well as space planning and ergonomics.
After completing a formal education, most interior designers choose to become apprentices. Recent graduates are supervised by an experienced designer during this period. Designers have the opportunity to create a portfolio and get to know the business before they go solo.
Interior designers can also become certified by passing the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) exam. To sit for the NCIDQ exam, one must have both formal education and experience. Six routes have been identified by the NCIDQ. More information can be found on their website. This certificate is required for professional registration in 26 U.S. states or Canadian provinces that require licensure. If you want to join the American Society of Interior Designers or International Interior Design Association, you must also have a NCIDQ certificate.
Working Environment and Conditions
Most interior designers work as part of a larger design team, or freelance. However, some may find work in home-furnishing shops or architectural firms. Individuals looking to renovate their homes or open new businesses can be clients.
No matter where you work, it is essential to build relationships with clients. The main purpose of interior designers is to understand the needs and wants of their clients and incorporate them into the design. It can mean working long hours or weekends to accommodate a client's busy schedule.
Because interior designers spend a lot of time on the ground discussing plans with clients, and supervising contracts, they tend to travel quite a bit. Interior designers spend most of their time at work.
Designers are often under stress because they have to manage deadlines and budgets.
Earnings
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for interior designers was $44,950 in May 2008. The median annual income for interior designers was $44,950. The lowest 10% earned $27230 while the highest 10% earned $82,750.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
“To become an interior designer, you need some post-secondary education. Many colleges offer interior design programs. You can get an associate degree or a bachelor's degree. An associate degree usually takes 2 years to finish. A bachelor's degree takes about 4 years.
These programs are all a bit different. But most include courses in design history and color theory. You'll also learn about lighting and sustainable design. There will also be classes in drafting and design software. And you'll get instruction in business and marketing.
In most states, you need to be licensed or certified by a state regulatory agency. After completing a design program, you need to get some experience. You may have to work under a qualified interior designer for several years. It takes about 6 years of education and work experience to become certified. But each state has different requirements.
It's a good idea to contact the designers' association in your state. They can let you know exactly what you need to do to certify.
It is also possible to earn a master's degree in interior design. This isn't necessary for licensure or certification. But it can help you advance in the field, and even earn more money.
The last step to becoming certified is to pass an exam. The test is given by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).”

Trying to study a gazillion terms by at least making my notes pretty (for me, at least). In case you don't know, Interior Design has a licensure exam held annually here in the Philippines. There are seven subjects to be taken in three consecutive days. This year's will be held on November 7 to 9. The subjects are as follows: 1. Interior Design (40%) - It's usually taken on the first day. You're basically given a design problem, and you're tasked to draw everything from floor plan, ceiling plan, elevations, and perspectives in a span of 8 hours. Besides the time pressure, you have to bring your own drafting and rendering materials including your own table, chair, and drafting board. Bigat, 'no. 2. Furniture Design and Construction (15%) - Exam + drawing. You have to memorize furniture styles, know their dimensions, and know how to draw them. This includes motifs and ornamentations. You also need to memorize furniture construction tools and materials used in furniture-making. 3. Materials of Design and Decoration (10%) - More memorization of any material you could think of used in design. This includes fabrics, sculptures, lighting, and different types of wares. Memorization of their characteristics and computation of the number of yards/meters/etc. of material needed in a space. Includes drawing. 4. Interior Construction and Utilities (10%) - More construction terms. The science and engineering part of building spaces. Also includes drawing. 5. Professional Practice and Ethics (10%) - Laws. Laws. Laws. Any law concerning ID from ID Law, Building Code, Fire Code, Accessibility Law, etc. 6. History of Arts and Interior Design (10%) - From prehistory to contemporary times. From Western to Asian. Anything about art, architecture, and interior design in history. More memorization. Includes drawing. 7. Color Theory (5%) - Anything concerning color, including computer colors. Includes rendering spaces provided by PRC. And this is why you don't get services from unlicensed people claiming to be interior designers. You also don't ask a licensed one to design your house or store or office for free. Pwedeng may discount kung friends kayo, 'di ba? Interior designers have to know a lot of things to be able to design a safe space which fits your taste and most importantly, your needs. Hindi lang siya "pagandahan". There's a science behind it and they make sure you get your money's worth.

What is a Building Designer?
For many of you reading this, it might actually be the first time you’ve come across the term “building designer”. Don’t worry about it, because most people don’t actually know the difference between an architect and a building designer.
To put it simply, they actually perform the same basic services — they both design buildings. They often possess similar skill sets and at times even possess similar qualifications. One key difference however, is that architects are required to be registered and licensed by a State-based architecture board. In contrast, there are many parts of Australia wherein building designers can operate without any form of license or registration.
Architects tend to charge more at around 7-10% of the project cost (on average). On the other hand, it would normally cost around 3-5% of the project cost to hire a building designer.
Alternatively, if you are getting your house deigned and built you could get in contact with a building broker to save money, read this article about what is a building broker to see how.
Architect VS Building Designer?
It would really depend. A great design can come from either one of the two. Even when it comes to finances, the more affordable option will still be decided on a case-to-case basis. Although the trend is that architects are more expensive, certain building designers could actually end up costing more to hire. The best option is to keep an open mind, do your research, and choose a credible architect or building designer whose style you like, and whom you can afford.
Building Designers
Architects
No particular formal education required; many come from design backgrounds
Tertiary education required; must have completed a five (5) year course in architecture
No licence requires in Western Australia, ACT, New South Wales, Southern Australia, and Northern Territory
Required two (2) years of field experience, licensure examination, and registration
Typically charges 3-5% of project cost
Typically charges 7-10% of project cost
Both are capable of creating stylish, efficient, and functional designs.
Designs from both must pass building standards and regulations.
Building Designers
Building designers can have diverse backgrounds, with most coming from an education relating to design. Some even have degrees in architecture (but remain unlicensed). Formerly known as a “draftsman”, these people provide most if not all of the same services in construction and design as an architect.
An important distinction between building designers and architects is that in many places, there are no required qualifications, licenses, or registration to work as a building designer. Some examples of these places are Western Australia, the ACT, New South Wales, Southern Australia, and Northern Territory. In those places, building designers are not required to complete any particular tertiary education (although many of them do come from design backgrounds) and they do not have to pass any tests to operate.
Not to worry however, because many of them design beautiful homes that are both sustainable and functional. Whatever they design will also have to keep up with the government standards of building and planning. If they could not pass those regulations, their designs would not be accepted and their projects would not be built. In addition, there are areas such as Victoria, Tasmania, and Queensland, that do require building designers to be certified or hold licenses.
With building designers, it is a good practice to look for those that are members of different associations, such as Building Designers Australia (BDA) or the Building Designers Association of Victoria (BDAV). Aside from an increased sense of credibility, it’s likely that these organizations require continuing professional development (CPD) — these building designers will likely have to keep updating themselves with the latest laws, events, and issues that may affect their practices.
Architects
Architects take five years of formal tertiary education to get a degree in architecture. They study numerous subjects on architecture and related fields, including both the technical and artistic aspects of building design. After studying, they need to work for two years in the industry before they can take a licensure exam and get registered as architects. All of these are required for someone to officially refer to themselves as an architect.
Architects can design both the exterior and interior of buildings. They can design different kinds of buildings, usually being the main player in the creation of plans, drawings, and renders of many types of projects.
Though this does not apply in every case, architects tend to have more experience and show a larger propensity for producing higher levels of design compared to building designers.
Homes that were built by architects tend to be more expensive and desirable because they often sport unique designs that are both aesthetically appealing and more energy efficient. They tend to use better materials as well. Architects may even offer a carefully advised floor plan in order to maximise space and optimize the use of light and ventilation.
More often than not however, they are more expensive to hire. They may charge differently depending on how much of the project they work on, how long you have them on the team, and what exactly they would be doing. More experienced and well-acclaimed architects tend to be more expensive to hire.

To Find Residential Designer Nevada Is The Best Location To Check Out
By Gary Stone
Interior designers whose area of specialty involves working on properties of residents are known as residential designers. Normally, the target is to develop spaces which are pleasing, functional, and safe. In order to achieve this, these specialists must consider the preferences of their customers. As such, the needs of the customer in terms of stylistic and functional preferences are very crucial to the work of the designer. When in search of Residential Designer Nevada should be given priority. Before a designer performs any job, they have to meet with the client they intend to work for. These professionals are well informed and skilled in the art of design and their problem-solving skills are very advanced. They have a clear understanding of building codes that are followed in the jurisdiction that they work. They also have a lot of knowledge regarding scale, space, and lighting. After accepting to take up a project, the designer takes charge of many activities. For example, they must select all materials needed for the project in addition to colors and fixtures. In some projects, they are charged with the responsibility of acquiring all construction materials needed. Some homeowners or property owners may decide to buy construction materials on their own, but under the direction of the designer. With all construction materials needed available, designers are responsible for preparing them so that they can be used. This may be done with the help of one or more workers depending on the size of the project. Also, the designer may be in charge of other designers and workers to ensure that everything happens as planned. In such a case, the professional works as a supervisor and manager of the project and they make all major decision. There are certain academic qualifications that a person needs in order to become a residential designer. The qualifications are not constant for every state. Although, most states seem to have similar laws concerning this field, every state has its unique requirements as far as academics are concerned. For beginners, while certain states demand that workers must be holders of a degree in designing, some do not. But to increase chances of success, higher qualifications are a necessity. Anyone thinking about joining this profession should start by completing a bachelor degree in interior design. The degree earned is usually valid only if it is earned from an accredited institution. Certification boards also demand that the certificate that one holds be from a recognized academic institution. Online programs are also currently available from many colleges and universities. Although formal education is the chosen path for most designers, there is also a huge number of others that have gained their skills through apprenticeship. All one has to do is to join an apprenticeship program. Apprenticeship programs expose people to a huge school of knowledge in this field. The opportunity to network is also readily available. Some people with postsecondary degrees also attend apprenticeship programs. If one has formal education and years of apprenticeship, they become legible for licensure. NCIDQ is the national body responsible for issuing licenses to practitioners. One is required to pay a fee and pass an exam in order to be awarded the license.
