hiiii hope you’re& doing well! got a couple questions if you& don’t mind <3 first up, do you& have any tips on how to tell if you’ve& got a new introjext or if you’re& just really attached to someone? and secondly, any tips (big or small!) on how to come out as a system to people irl? thank you& in advance, hope i made sense, and hope you’re& well!! :D

As an introject-heavy system ourselves, we like to go through a checklist that helps us discern what the deal is. 

What about this character appeals to us? (be specific)

Is anyone in the system able to have independent conversations with this character, innerworld? If so, is the character autonomous or are they an NPC?

Does this character feel like a friend, family member, +etc ?

Are they able to front/communicate with non-system members?

Could they be a soulbond?

Are they more like an introject?

Could they be a Para? (scroll to find)

Could they be a comfort character?

Could they be a hyperfixation/special interest?

Could it be a system member’s kintype? (fictionkin) (factkin)

As for coming out to people IRL, we find it’s best to compile a small google doc of informative links about plurality / systems, along with a small message introducing yourselves/your system. You can then share it to whomever you so choose. You can also do this by making a carrd, or anything similar.  You can also come out verbally if you are in a safe situation to do so. Again, we find its best to include informative sources in addition because it just tends to help answer all the minute details that most singlets have.

For us, we just kind of casually dropped odd tidbits of information, in addition to consistently failing at not using we/us pronouns at work. Folks sort of caught on and we just went, “Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I share a body with several others. Therapists fear me, ableist movies want me.”

how do I know i have an undead ghost alter and animal alter and fictional introjext or if they are just kintypes?

tbh, we don't really know. our instinct would be to see what the look like in headspace, but we also aren't super sure how kintypes work, and if they would cause an alter to look different in headspace.

anyone else have any advice?
