Iā€™m very confused by the idea that Book 1 Zuko has ā€œdark and sexyā€ energy tbh.
Iā€™m speaking as an unapologetic Zuko simp btw.
But honestly if youā€™re above the age of like, 12, and think Book 1 Zuko is dark and intimidatingā€¦Iā€™m embarrassed for you. He acts like an overgrown toddler throwing a tantrum and thatā€™s the point. Heā€™s supposed to come off as spoiled and childish. Very unsexy.
And itā€™s important to the beginning of his character arc too. Book 1 Zuko is naĆÆve, brainwashed by the ideals he was raised with, and has no outlet for his trauma because the idea of what he experienced being abuse is forbidden to him. Questioning the way he was treated by Ozai is treason in his mind. Heā€™s all bark and no bite, angry but doesnā€™t know what to do with himself, unaware of the realities of the war, and so very young and inexperienced. Itā€™s a brilliant foundation for his character and the man he grows into.
