5 MUST GO TO PLACES AFTER LOCKDOWN...
By Karmeta Clarke-Newman
1. TGI Fridays
Tumblr media
The first place seeing me after lockdown is going to have to be TGI’s! That place definitely adds something special into their food, especially in their Jack Daniels sauce. Highly Recommended.
I can’t wait to tuck into another rack of ribs, not forgetting to mention their long list of great cocktails to choose from!
TGI Fridays is a family-friendly eatery with a brilliant atmosphere that's perfect for a casual place to eat, date nights or even birthday celebration meals. However, if your birthday is coming up and your family takes you to TGI Fridays - be prepared for the whole restaurant clapping whilst singing happy birthday to you.
Tumblr media
Everyday feels like a friday when you walk into a TGI Friday restaurant. Their customer service is very good, staff are very welcoming and energetic. Customers are accommodated with plush leather booths suitable for cosy meet-ups.

5 Things you should know before considering a job in the creative industry. By Karmeta Clarke.
If you are a young creative with the passion to work in the creative industry. You might even have the dream to work with those already taking lead in the area of work you are working towards by interviewing them or shooting and editing videos for campaigns or TV ads. If the freedom to express your new ideas excites you but you sometimes find yourself lost in your own self doubt. Then this is the listicle for you!
1. It is okay to feel anxious.
In the moment - you may feel anxious but try to remember you have talent and you deserve all the opportunities coming your way. Sometimes it takes awhile to get to where you want to be but trust the process and BELIEVE you are going to get there.
‘It’s never time wasted because it’s things you never knew before’
2. Network.
Networking is really important. Not just going to network events but networking on social media, in person, everywhere. Growing your network is one of the most important things. For example, if you wanted to be an editor, it's great to reach out to directors. It's really good to find a director/directors on your level and grow with them. They'll be creating their own work and they need editors.
‘Never question your abilities’
3. Question when you hear ‘NO’.
If you are pitching an idea for example to a marketing team and they tell you no. Ask them ‘why’. Show them you are being proactive to the reason as to why they have said no. You have to take every opportunity to trust your instincts.
‘They picked you! They had confidence in you, you need to have confidence in yourself’
4. Go get yourself a mentor.
Mentors are around for good, not a season. A mentor can be life changing because they can give you loads of advice and support when you do understand something. It is definitely to reach out to different people in the industry for help or any tips they may have because you never know the value they can have on your journey into the creative industry.
‘What you don’t know this week, you will know next week’
5. Always be kind.
Being kind is important. One thing to remember is that everyone is human. It's really easy to just see people you work with as just "people you work with" but I try to see people as just being human. Be nice to people and ultimately people will be nice to you and people will remember you for being that nice girl or boy etc, you will stick out in their mind.
‘Start where you are, Do what you have, Do what you can’

Press Release: “Part of The Bigger Picture” by Inspire Media (Aaron, Karmeta, Steph & Mujamel)
Tumblr media
Wednesday 13th May 2020 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UPCOMING YOUNG BLACK AUTHOR PUBLISHES FIRST BOOK, A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES DETAILING THE LIVES AND STRUGGLES OF A COMMUNITY LIVING ON AN ESTATE IN SOUTH LONDON, IN HOPES TO GIVE VOICES TO THOSE WHO ARE OFTEN OVERLOOKED.
Upcoming author Xavier Pencille releases his first book, “Part of the Bigger Picture” which explores social identity within a working class society. This release is via his own production company “TSTAC” (Two Sides to a Coin). He aims for this to be part of a movement to bring attention to the vulnerable and misinterpreted members of society, providing a platform for their voices to be heard.
The short stories look at those within an often-mistaken community, reviewing the narrative that surrounds these individuals, especially young black people, by bringing awareness to experiences that have shaped them, their ambitions and the obstacles they face.
Xavier says: “There is a lot of gentrification going on and a lot of stories are being lost and overlooked, especially those belonging to people who tend to be perceived as ‘smaller characters’ in society. I wanted to shine a light on them and show that there is a bigger picture, their voices need to be heard too“.
Earlier this year in March 2020, Xavier hosted a book launch with the support of “New Beacon Books”, specialists in African and Caribbean literature. [Please find hi-res images attached].

#VlogstarChallenge - Memories
By Karmeta Clarke-Newman
Looking back at old photos in our family photo albums has always interested me growing up because the memories behind the images make me smile and remember good times.
This video was special for me to create because it meant I could capture that moment with my grandma.

During my time in quarantine, some days I like to put on make up to feel good. I still want to feel cute even if I’m not able to go outside.

Karmeta Clarke-Newman is a 19 year old video editor from South East London. She has a passion for creating visual content which reflects her personal values of health and wellbeing. She aims to provoke conversation, promoting the awareness of issues that can affect a young person through her work.
Karmeta is a caring and loving person who has always been passionate about creativity and helping people. Her recent decision to leave university after studying psychology with counselling was aimed to combine her two passions together by creating content which inspires others.
She believes that creativity is the true expression of the imagination - the transformation of ideas into reality. The beauty of a small idea which can develop and transform into something bigger is the element of excitement. She discovered her first interest in filmmaking whilst studying in secondary school. She would shoot and edit short films with her friends for fun after school. Gradually it became a regular occurrence and her passion grew from there. She has also had the experience of enhancing her technical skills of being a Camera operator for charity organisations such as, Fight For Peace.
Karmeta pays close attention to how films are made, especially the editing process. She finds it interesting in how films can convey a message to its audience through storytelling. She loves how visual content exposes viewers to new opinions and perceptions.
She has previously produced her own short film “Time”, showcasing an individual's unique story highlighting her background differences, passions, thoughts and personality. This was an important project for her to create as she wanted to visually demonstrate what individuality and personal identity means.
Karmeta is very excited for what the future holds and the endless creating.
