I hate Kenan Sofuoglu with a burning passion but if he manages to get Deniz a Moto2 seat i will hate him slightly less

👀👀 may i ask about the reason for the aki ajo hate? zero judgement, i’m just nosy!!
For sure lovely!!! It's just my personal beef with the dude, I just don't vibe with him but my biggest gripe with him is the treatment of Can Öncü (brother of Deniz). He was in ktm, wins his second ever race, gets promoted to Ajos team full time. He has so much pressure heaped on his shoulders that he breaks and is tossed out of his seat for the next big thing. Kenan Sofuoglu did an interview where he talked about how KTM broke Can and he struggled to get another seat. Another is like Adrian Fernandez was given a seat in ktm just to placate his brother and keep him happy (then Raul fucked off anyways lmao).
Obviously Celestino is my fave and there's a lot of pressure from being on Ajos team, he's produced some of the best talent and I worry that he's going to end up discarded like so many others by the KTM train. I just don't like KTM in general and it's nothing personal (just my judgemental Aries ass), just don't like what they represent and Ajo is part of that 😶

Maiden victory for Bahattin Sofuoglu in Race 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bahattin Sofuoglu snatched victory in Race 2 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, his first win in WorldSSP. He stands in seventh place in the standings with 64 points. Sofuoglu’s teammate Marcel Schroetter secured second place following Manzi’s penalty claiming his second podium of the weekend. Schroetter’s second position means it was MV Agusta’s first 1-2 since Phillip Island 2015. Stefano Manzi crossed the finish line behind Schroetter but was penalised for exceeding track limits on the final lap. The Italian rider then finished in third place, behind the MV Agusta duo. He is third in the standings with 116 points and 36 points behind Bulega. Championship leader Nicolo Bulega had a technical issue at Turn 5 Lap 17 of 18 and was unable to finish the race, putting an end to Ducati’s streak of 9 races on the podium, their best one ever. He remains the Championship leader with 152 points. There was a fierce fight for victory in Race 2 during the FIM Supersport World Championship at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and there were plenty of emotions on display on the podium for the Prosecco DOC Catalunya Round as Bahattin Sofuoglu (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) took his first win in WorldSSP after fending off a challenge from both teammate Marcel Schroetter and Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) in a thrilling three-way battle for victory in Spain.
Tumblr media
Sofuoglu once again got a good start from ninth on the grid to put himself in the lead group in the early stages and he was soon in the lead of the race but it was a fierce fight for the win with Sofuoglu, Sofuoglu’s teammate Schroetter and Manzi who completed the podium positions with just 0.500s separating the top three at the end of the race, with Manzi moving into second on the final lap into Turn 1; Manzi crossed the line in second but was demoted one place for exceeding track limits on the final lap at Turn 8. Schroetter took the lead from teammate Sofuoglu at Turn 1 on Lap 11 but Sofuoglu responded a lap later, while Manzi moved into second after passing Schroetter at Turn 1 on Lap 13. However, Manzi ran wide a lap later at Turn 10 but two laps later he made up for his mistake by taking both MV Agusta riders at Turn 5 to move into the lead, demoting Sofuoglu to third. On the penultimate lap, Sofuoglu moved into the lead as he and Schroetter went either side of Manzi into Turn 1 and he was able to hold on to the lead despite late pressure from Manzi on the final lap. With Manzi’s penalty, Schroetter was promoted to second place for the first MV Agusta 1-2 finish since Phillip Island in 2015.

P1 | Bahattin Sofuoglu | MV Agusta Reparto Corse "Yesterday I had my first podium. Kenan told me about my mistakes in Race 1. In the Warm Up, I just tried to keep my pace, and, in the race, I tried to apply what Kenan told me. In the end, we took first place, many years after Kenan was the legend. On this day, I’m really happy to take his surname on top again. I wanted this win so much and I didn’t expect it would come today like this. It’s a great step for me, for the team and for MV Augusta. I will try to keep this strong pace in the coming races. Politician and former racing driver lets his 3-year-old son race on his Ferrari SF90 Stradale
Madness in Turkey At the age of 3 he was put to the wheel by his father of a Ferrari SF90 Stradale. But he doesn’t end there. The boy, who has become “famous” on Instagram, can be seen whizzing by on enduro bikes, jet skis, quads and racing go-karts. He is the son of Kenan Sofuoglu, a member of the Turkish parliament and a former professional motorcycle racer. Although in 2021, the former pilot…

Deniz means just stupidly too much to me (and not simply cuz he’s my compatriot then i would also support toprak who i hate deeply)and here is why:
Growing up we had Kenan Sofuoglu, who later turned out to be a religious political dickhead(i have an entire rant about him just check his tag on my blog i think). He is a fucking mp just so the oprresion party has more seats he hasn’t been doing shit as an mp.
And he is THE rider in turkey. If you mention motorcycle racing, everyone knows kenan sofuoglu.
Then we have Toprak. Who is just Kenan but more successful. He isa religious oppresive asshole too. And I know so many WSBK watchers love him because they don’t have any comtext as to the political and social climate in Turkey and Toprak’s stances and that’s okay. It’s just super hard seeing people support a guy who supports your oppression.
Can is hanging out a lot with Toprak so it makes me worry but still Can and Deniz are such fresh air. There is absolutely nothing religious or political on their Insta. They have never made such comments as far as I could find out. They are just two kids, riding bikes.
And Deniz is good. So he gives me the hope that the best Turkish motorcycle rider maybe won’t be a religious oppressor in the future.
And I’m so excited for his first win cause he will be the first Turk to win in Moto series. I feel like Deniz will be able to leave a legacy that will make us forget about Kenan and Toprak. I know Deniz wouldn’t be here without Kenan but I can’t describe how much I hate him.
Anyways Deniz basically represents hope for a better Turkey in the future in my head which makes me more attached to him.

It sounds kinda bad saying someone can’t like someone as much if they’re from a different country. Do Spanish Marc fans like him more because they’re the same nationality 😬
I think you didn’t read the tags? I said it there I don’t mean they can’t love him as much. I said there are different layers.
Firstly Spain and Turkey are different countries. Turkey is a suffering middle eastern country where living conditions can’t be compared with any european country. For example 1 euro is 16 turkish liras but the minimum wage is around the same (don’t remember the number but i mean like someone who makes 100 euros makes 100 turkish liras in turkey) yet everything is imported. But beyond economy, european people competing internationally isn’t as unheard. Meanwhile Turkey has been suffering big time for the past 20 years.
But beyond that, I mention Kenan Sofuoglu. We grew up with him, my brother watched him live. Having a Turkish person in international categories is always very rare. We were big fans of him, then he started publicly supporting Erdogan, and ended up becoming an MP. Seeing your idol join the people who literally ruined your life and future is kinda painful. Because I actively suffer from the political party Kenan fucking joined every single day of my life. Fuck I almost even died in a suicide bombing at 18 because of the shitty way Turkey has been because of Erdogan. I almost died, the same age Deniz got a moto3 podium.
I don’t think any westerners can understand how hopeless it is. How hopeless it feels, not knowing if you’ll die in a terror attack, not knowing if the economy will ever get better, not knowing your country is past the point of no turning back. Knowing no other country is going to help. Knowing wherever you go, you’ll never be home. Your home being destroyed by one man. Your idol growing up supporting that man. I don’t think westerners can relate.
Yet Deniz is succeeding. No matter what, he is going. And it’s all thanks to Kenan, my childhood hero. Deniz is more than just a rider for a lot of people here. He symbolizes hope. Hope that our country won’t be so shit forever. Hope that people from our country can still reach international success. Hope that not all youth has given up. Hope that you don’t have to be licking Erdogan’s ass clean to reach success.
Now I don’t feel exactly the same about Toprak, because his instagram bio and everything suggests he is an Erdogan supporter. I don’t know though, it just suggests, but suggests heavily. And as an ex muslim I generally dislike people who promote Islam.
But Deniz is just a rider. He doesn’t put anything related to Erdogan or Islam or any shit. He is just a Turkish teenager, following his passion, inspiring many.
I’m not saying I love Deniz more than non turkish fans, I’m just saying there are many layers that most people won’t be able to understand. Which is not a good or bad thing, it just is.

Hi! I assume you are Turkish (I hope I'm not wrong because it would be embarrassing 😅), so can I ask you what was going on here with Toprak? Is it X-factor?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hii!! I’m sorry for the late reply, I don’t really check this account anymore.
So this is basically Turkey’s Got Talent, I think literally the Turkish version of America’s Got Talent. I haven’t watched it but Acun Ilicali, the judge on left, makes tons of Turkish versions of American shows(and he’s rich af)
the texts on the Photo: congratulations bro you showed the world what turkish youth can do. Also thank you kenan sofuoglu
and toprak wrote: from where to where(a common phrase in turkish, basically meaning look how far we’ve come)
Anyways here is the video:
https://youtu.be/sdlKt-UChNM
here is the translation(roughly):
presenter: good might mr acun
acun: good night
presenter: we’re a bit cold. we’re outside and we have a guy that won’t fit into you studio. we’ll perform here a bit and then come to the studio. he’s an incredible talent, perfect for you. I’m sure you’ll love him.
-they talk about the cold a bit then-
then the reporter says how the studios too little for his talent etc and toprak starts riding then rides into the studio
i will summarize the next parts there is so much small talk.
acun: hi toprak. how old are you?
toprak: hi! I’m 16.
acun: you gave your heart to motorcycles?
toprak: yeah i started when i was 6. i started with motocross then moved to racing. I just became a champion in turkey. *crowd claps* I’m representing Turkey internationally now. I just raced with Anil Tetik in Germany. This year I participated in Rookie’s Cup Motogp qualifications and won. I’ll do my best and represent Turkey.
acun: where are you from?
toprak: I’m from Sakarya but live in Alanya
acun: what do your parents feel about your motor passion?
toprak: they’re allright with it. i actually took example of my dad to start. my mom was afraid in the beginning but now she got used to it.
acun: you know the studio is small and not really good for riding
toprak: yeah it’s small and the floor is slippery but i will do my best
acun: okay show your skills
toprak: thanks
then he starts riding again
hulya(female judge): toprak are you an only child?
toprak: two
hulya: so you have a sibling?
toprak: yeah
hulya: I wouldn’t want to be your mom. I have a daughter around your age but if I had a son around your riding like this I would have a heart attack everyday
acun: but do you know toprak’s dad nickname? hulya: dad is different
acun: but do you know the nickname?
toprak: one-wheel arif( Tek teker Arif)
hulya: one wheel??
acun: since the woman married One wheel the kid is like this
hulya: yeah but kid is different. Like okay she fell in love married hope they have a happy long marriage but when it’s the kid it’s harder. I just thought about your mom
toprak: I couldn’t do without a motorcycle
hulya: hope you ride without accident, but still wouldn’t want to be your mom
acun: you were riding with your dad since you were little in the back right?
toprak: yeah
acun: did you start walking first or riding a motorcycle first?
third judge(don’t know who he is): okay you talented these moves are actually hard very artistic but I don’t think you can express yourself on this studio we beed to watch you outside to judge cause this studio isnot suitable for you. not for today but for future we should see you outside to see you potential
acun: we’ll talk later but for secon rounds and semi finals we can have a special shoot for xtreme sportsman on the outside. Maybe we’ll do that cause this is an amazing show and normal people can’t do these moves And these moves are hard to do here. But if we leave it in this studio Toprak won’t progress much in the competitio. okay let’s vote
3rd judge: yes
hulya: i also wouldnt want to be your girlfrien‘s mom. yes
acun: Toprak motorcycle suits you very well i say Yes too. We’re saying goodbye with 3 Yes’s
toprak: thank you good night
hulya: good luck
acun: toprak? You goi back to Istanbul on riding your bike?
toprak: no
arif(toprak’s dad): im his dad. as Acun said I’m known as one-wheel, im a motorcycle showman in turkey and I’m trying to raise him as good as i can
acun: Arif do you have any platin’s(in bones from accidents)?
arif: not too many but I have one on my wrist
acun: okay you got lucky
arif: yeah. Thank you. good night
anyways sorry for such a long reply lol I hope you got your answer. if you have any question or would like me to shitly translate some Interviews etc just send an ask to my other account, @whattheformula1 that one’s linked to my main so I’ll see it there :)
