But it is a phenomenal instrument! 76 fully weighted keys that were wonderfully responsive alone made it worth the money. But its sound library was rich with great sounds and the 8 track sequencer allowed me to flesh out my arrangement ideas. It sits in my storage unit back in Long Beach. I am a bad keyboard dad. I missed a recognition post for the adoption day of this guy, Breion- my M-Audio ProKeys Sono 88 Digital Piano/Controller. He came to his forever home in July 2012, after several weeks of delays. He's been with me through numerous lessons, recording sessions, and live performances. On this date in 1982, Prince recorded the song that would become the title track and first single from his fifth studio album. Armed with a Linn drum machine, he built up this track using this synthesizer- the Arp Omni-2. It is the only keyboard on the song, heavily layered to create the thick texture he wanted. It has it all. Incredible hammer action keyboard action. Great sounds. An eight track sequencer. Built like a tank. I think I got mine at the end of '93. I miss her - I named her Lisa (after Lisa Coleman). It changed the game for me as a musician. I wrote some really cool stuff on there. I still have it in my storage space in Cali.
