Sometimes, they wondered where would they be if they didn't dedicate themself to their cause. If they took up a profession, where they didn't have to deal with immense dangers involved. Perhaps, plenty of things would go differently.
However, they wouldn't regret any of it. Sure, they had gotten trapped or kidnapped yet they always made it through. Saw it through no matter how tough their situation could get.
And maybe they could be a little foolish for doing what they do. But hey if they managed to help people. . . their safety was negligent. After all: it proved to be a simple price, which they would pay over and over again.
Back in their apartment, their ally tended to their wounds. Dabbing a wet cloth over wounded spots, cleaning it up as much as she could.
"You know," she said, grabbing a piece of gauze. "We'd have more nights of leisure if you didn't get back bleeding. I thought you'd have learned to lessen it by now."
"If those people didn't insist on stabbing or shooting at me," they replied with a heavy sigh. "I'm sure I wouldn't be stuck with it. But hey, they believe draining blood outta my system is gonna stop me."
She snorted, shaking her head. "I swear, you're just finding an excuse to be a martyr, eh."
"Then why bother sticking around?" they asked, arching a brow. They rubbed a hand over a gauze wrapped around a bruise on their elbow. "I mean if you got a problem with it, you can walk out."
They tried making it sound like a joke yet some seriousness slipped out. She lowered her arm, bowing her head. She gulped and set the cloth down onto a table.
Crap, they thought as regret engulfed them. They probably shouldn't have said. . .
When she peered up at them, her lips tilted into a small grin.
"Because I don't have much better to do," she answered dryly with a brief shrug. "Besides. . . who else can I stop from making bad decisions? Don't think I can find anyone else like you."
With a roll of their eyes, they threw a light punch at her upper arm. She burst out cackling
Even if they keep crashing down, a pair of arms were prepared to catch them. Keeping them. . . secured and reassured. That they weren't alone and they had an ally, who would be there for them. Whether they fell apart or get torn at the seams, they knew they wouldn't have to be alone. And damn, they were so lucky to have someone, steadfast and loyal, by their side.
It happened to be pivotal to them especially since they had to get people out of a building. It had been hit by a laser beam and they had to evacuate most of those who had been in it. If they didn't have a team, they wouldn't have done the job at all.
However, they had been slow at escaping themself. But the sound of concrete cracking set them on edge, freezing them on where they stood.
Before it could crumble on them, a whirlwind of a silhouette shoved them to the other side. Rolling along with them.
They tried catching their breath, turning their head at the person beside them. Only for their eyes to widen at their ally, who propped herself up on an elbow.
"You dumbass," she hissed, scowling. Her face crumpled. "You ought to be more careful, you know!"
"Sorry," they murmured, wincing at sharp sensation searing at their sides. "I would. . . I would have. . . but. . . thank you."
"Don't thank me just yet." She scrambled to her feet, dusting her jacket and t-shirt. She stretched a hand out. "C'mon. . . you got a job to finish. After that, you're required to rest. No complaints."
Their lips quirked up at the corners. "Yeah. . . no problem."
As her posture relaxed, she reached for their elbow. Guiding them to where those civilians had been brought to safety.

If claude hosted a party at her place and the night ended in " disaster" (whatever that means), what's the thing that's likely to have happened?
Well, since her social battery could deplete very fast, the thing most likely would have been having the guests' fighting over who gets to request to the DJ, who'd most likely dip at the sheer indecisiveness. Maybe they'd try to sneak past the guards standing by the entree. The reason she even hires guards for that is because they tend to crowd, which makes people involved be impatient or ready to fight over it, lol. I really wouldn't think what can go wrong since she's got the best staff in charge. *scratches head*
Even the thieves, who she invited, stealing wouldn't bring the party down, lmao. Thank you for teh ask.^^

Hi Enchant! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
What's the last / most recent story ideas you played around with even if just in your head? Can be fic or original.
Heya, Kly! Thanks for dropping by! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Well, since you're referring to ideas I haven't put down on paper yet. . .
a 700 word short of hwan distracting tegan from the stress of the screenplay competition (still fleshing it out). their dynamic is platonic at that moment and they're working in the same theater building. it'll be hwan's pov.
a poem about adulthood, mayhaps?? it might help me cope with the feeling. y'know feeling uncertain and feeling there's a guidebook i must have missed.
shorts involving the blasted scorn crew utilizing the latest flash fiction friday prompts. still churning on how to make it, tho. and what would fit.
maybe make some sporty ocs, lmao. i notice i've been lacking ocs with an affinity for sports. should be a challenge.
some exploration of claude's platonic dynamics with her friends and allies. mayhaps, something involving her ph.d daze, ahhh.
and instead of fake-dating, there's a fake hook-up. why? bc a guy wanted his friends to lay off from pestering him, lmao. and he found the right person who's willing to pretend for him, hehe.
just random ideas taunt me but these more than most rn. it'll switch around at some point, i guess.

Prompt? How about more Tegan and Hwan cute awkwardness 😌
Maybe they need to get a gift for Nijiko?
Ahhh, yeah, here is more awkwardness featuring teh ladies. 😌
this got a bit longer than intended, however, i enjoyed it. this takes place in the main story, maybe in the middle of ch9 or ch10s. still figuring it out, though. 🌌🌌🌌

A row of pendant lights shine in florescence from a ceiling. Cast across several aisles of shelves. A clerk presses a button and opens a cash register, causing a click.
By the office stationery section, Hwan carries a small basket. That's been empty. Tegan moves some stacks of papers, peeking into what's behind it. She goes towards a container of pens, scrutinizing them.
They're browsing through aisles of stationery, searching for office supplies that Nijiko might need. Her sister's birthday might be February 6, however, she wants to check early.
Somehow, Hwan had to ask Tegan to accompany her. They work in the same theatre (Tegan in the backstage crew while Hwan's in the I.T area), so it made sense that she could ask her sister's best friend for help. Even if said person used to be her crush as a teenager.
They'd been silent on the entire cab ride. So, they both used their phones, barely looking at each other. She'd have said something except Tegan seemed busy. Tapping on it as if sending texts to her friends.
And she needs to break the ice. Or else she wouldn't get any progress going.
Hwan scans a shelf of pens, knitting her brows together. "What do you think Nijiko would like having?"
"I guess she'd love to have these," Tegan answers, lifting a file folder with a stripe print. "She has tons of papers, which she prints. In her office."
She nods. "Sure. That sounds good."
Tegan slips it onto the basket. "Yeah, that's one item. Extra more to go."
"Does she need another notebook?" Hwan catches a pile of journals arranged in a horizontal line. "I'm sure she designs a renovated room by visualizing it on paper."
"I have so many unused notebooks," Tegan said with a small laugh. "So many. I did open them to get a feel of the page and stuff. Your sister also does the same."
"Okay then I should get something she'll use."
"Ooh! She's been thinking of getting a glass board! But she's been busy with several clients, so she hasn't gotten any opportunities to do it."
"Has she decorated her office yet? Or she hasn't."
"Well, actually, I'm not sure. I haven't asked her that yet. She has asked for suggestions but that was months ago. And I've been busy and I sure didn't realize that her birthday was approaching soon. I mean five months is sorta far to be soon. But I guess a head start's gonna be useful. Getting a gift in advance is a good plan. And you still have plenty of weeks before that.
"Also you should know that she's learning a new sport. She has been practicing at a center because she doesn't have equipment at her home. Ah, yeah, she's trying out some tennis. I'm not sure if she told you this but she was inspired by Serena Williams. It's been letting her blow off steam. Whether it's a long day of work or a demanding client, she. . . uh oh."
As they reach to an aisle containing pens and other office supplies, Tegan clamps her mouth shut. She glances around and lets out a shaky chuckle.
"Sorry," Tegan says, shaking her head. "I went off on that, didn't I?"
"Sorta," Hwan answers.
"Yeah." Tegan's face twists like she swallowed a lemon by accident.
"You do that when you're bothered by something?" She slings an arm over her chest, narrowing her eyes.
Tegan tenses up as if she jumps in a millisecond. "Nah! Nothing's bothering me."
"Why you do you act so weird around me then?"
"Huh? I don't get what you're talking about."
"C'mon, from what I remember, you don't apologize for rambling. Unless you must be feeling ashamed or weirded out."
"I'm not ashamed."
"Is this because I've started working in the theatre you work in? I didn't intend in putting you in any difficult position. If that's the issue, you can say that."
"Hey, that's definitely not it."
"Then what else can it be?"
"I get a little uneasy with tons of people."
"Do I make you uncomfortable?"
"What? No, not at all. I guess having my best friend's sister as a co-worker. . . can be strange. However, I'm tryna get used to it. It's all me, it isn't you. Although, I'm sorry if I made you think that."
"Wait, is it. . . Is it because you didn't recognize me? Initially?"
At that, Tegan cracks up and her voice pitch goes high. She doubles over slightly, pressing a hand over her stomach.
"Wow, I. . . Hey, I didn't know! You didn't wear glasses before! So, it was a whiplash! I'm sorry for that, by the way. I guess you're probably thinking how stupid I was. And how didn't I notice I ran into my best friend's sister of all people. But I did know you've been back in the country, I just. . . I didn't think I'd see you around. Because I've been informed you've been busy and all."
Hwan turns away slightly, her internal temperature jumping. She bites the inside of her check, fighting a snort back.
Although it's been seven years since she moved abroad for her degree, Tegan hasn't changed much. She's somewhat more outgoing yet she's still gauche. Or probably around Hwan. No doubt Nijiko must have had a field day at learning about it.
At least, she managed to talk to her. Unlike as a gawky teen when she didn't speak, only hanging around her presence during her visits.
It's beyond what she imagined back then. And she gets it.
Tegan sure has been confused, she thinks in hilarity. The poor thing.
It's up to her to help her be comfortable, somehow. She's gotta try.
"Do you think she has something like this?" Hwan asks, getting a pantone book.
Tegan winces. "Uh, she. . . She already has one."
"It's difficult to find a present that she'd like and use," Hwan mumbles. "As far as I'm aware, she does eighty percent of her work digitally. She often mentions the amount of programs she installed. Just for her job.
"Maybe we can go to the mall for clothes." Tegan shrugs. "She's been complaining how she hasn't updated her wardrobe."
"If you think that's a good plan, let's go with it."
"Hang on. . . Are you sure?"
"You're her best friend, you know her well. I'd be glad for any help you can offer."
"Okay! Sure thing!"
"First, I'll pay for this and we'll get a ride."
"Yep, yep. Got it."
Tegan bows her head and Hwan proceeds to the queue, letting her be. She probably needs a moment to be composed.
Despite herself, a vibrance floods her within while she glances back. She scratches the side of her forehead, shaking her head a bit.

"Do you expect me to put. . ." Ianette shuddered, lifting a wig from the crest. ". . . this?"
"We need to be in disguises," Titanarin answered with a shrug.
Ianette simply arched a brow. "You mean need me and a few others to be in disguises. But do I need to hide my hair with it? Couldn't I borrow one of your hats?"
"If you insist, alright then." Titanarin launched out of their seat, sauntering towards a tunic from a hanger. "Okay, what about you, Kumari? What will you choose?"
After word of a corrupted duchess hosting a party at her manor, someone sold seven invitations to them. Several other people of high status would be in attendance. And they would sneak in with their crew, infiltrate the areas, where no one would bother going. No one that wasn't a thief, that was.
It would be a grand opportunity to steal some fortune, especially from those of nobility. They didn't go to these sort of events often. And when they did, they would make the most of it.
Piles of trousers, blouses, gowns, and more cluttered up on the floor. Most of them bought from a market owned by merchants that paid their seamstresses and tailors fairly. They didn't steal much in terms of clothing.
And they did stole some from people, who discarded them as if they didn't need it, anymore.
Kumari scrunched her face while examining the various gowns. Tapping a foot.
"This looks nice," Kumari remarked as she picked up a dress, stretching it's puffy sleeves. "Elegant like royalty yet modest enough for a commoner."
Eubha grinned, brimming with her usual energy. "Ooh! Can I have that?! I can pretend to be a princess!"
"Why not a queen?" Nishan asked. "After all, they have more power and reign. They get to sit on a throne. Of course, they need approval from their spouses. However, a queen that runs her kingdom on her own. . . she has freedom. However, she also needs to consider her subjects, I suppose."
"A princess has freedom too," Eubha replied. "She's still royalty, after all."
"You aren't going to dress up as royals, I'm afraid," Titanarin said with a grimace. "Perhaps, people of nobility."
"Is there any actual difference between those that are nobility and royalty?" Ianette asked dryly. "They're all the same, aren't they? People that have status and wealth they need to maintain. By following a rigid set of rules and obligations set forth by those before them."
". . . I suppose. . . You have a point," Nishan replied, her tone weak.
With a brief shrug, Titanarin opened a drawer and removed a small box from it. Setting it on a vanity table, which Eubha stared at. She picked up a powder and inhaled, only to hack up a cough. Nishan and Kumari's faces twisted as if in dismay.
Kumari still grimaced while looking at some armor pieces in their trunk. She poked it, tilting her head.
"How many of these did you manage stealing?" Nishan asked, sounding a pinch concerned.
Titanarin cackled. "Pfft, I wouldn't know. I just knew they'd be helpful, someday."
"Wouldn't they be useful for selling?" Ianette asked, making a face. "I can't fathom of not making money out of these. To people who would be happy to have such finery in their possession."
"No, they should be kept with us." Kumari frowned, clutching on a blouse. She sighed theatrically. "I wouldn't dare to think of giving these away! They're too precious to lose!"
Nishan giggled while Ianette tsked, rubbing their forehead.
When Eubha opened a small box, she gasped. "Jewels! Diamonds! Rubies! Emeralds! They're so wonderful!"
"I suppose we'd fit in like royals if we wear those." Ianette made an affirmative noise. "I'm rather gob smacked you didn't steal a crown."
"Oh, I had an attempt," Titanarin said, feeling rueful. "But those guards had been on my tail, so I had to flee. It all went accordingly to plan until some court lady. Looking for the princess, only to see me instead. And she called on them."
Ianette rolled their eyes. "You ought to have locked that door."
"Well, I was very new at the pirate gig." Titanarin scoffed. "My lack of precision is what cost me a crown. But you don't need it for your disguises."
A squawk resounded into the room as Moloky flapped her wings, soaring towards the jewelry box. She nudged her beak against an emerald, behaving as it belonged to her hoard of treasures.
"Hey!" Ianette threw their arms up. "We're trying to wear our disguises here, you irascible git!"
Eubha and Nishan shared a wild laugh. Kumari grinned, stroking Moloky along her back. Titanarin snorted, settling back into their chair.
Well then. They might take a while to get prepared for that party.

Hwan and Tegan + cooking
Ahh, thank you for the request, Kly! I had fun writing this tidbit! This probably takes place off-screen.
However, just know this also includes some mentions of a misunderstanding. . . in a comical manner. :p

Packets and containers sprawled over a row of counters. Consisting of spices, some ingredients, vegetables, and some grains.
Hwan opens a cupboard, taking a pressure cooker and pan out. She puts them on an empty spot near the sink.
"I didn't think you'd also show up here," Tegan says while her pulse insists on racing.
Hwan adjusts her glasses, her expression slightly vacant. "Um, my sister invited me over, so yeah. She'll be too tired to cook anything after work. And I'm here to prepare some for her."
Ah. Great. Tegan nods, darting her eyes onto the ceiling.
Somehow, Nijiko managed to roped Tegan into visiting her place. Via a text message. Only to learn that her sister, Hwan, happened to be there instead. And she isn't even here.
So, she can probably help Hwan prepare dinner for Nijiko before she gets back.
But a little part of her had a sneaking suspicion that her best friend ditched her on purpose. With some intentions to nudge them into hanging out together.
Maybe it's to just keep her sister company.
After all, why would Nijiko have set Tegan up for that? Especially since she told her that Hwan's straight and wouldn't be into her.
Right? As a sister, Nijiko probably took it as a duty to encourage her little sister to get along with her best friend. No homo. Pure platonic reasons.   Nothing more, nothing less.
So, she clears her throat and braces herself.
"Well, I can help." Tegan tries smiling. "Considering there are some stuff I'm familiar with."
"Wait, you cook for her too?"
"Sometimes, whenever we both have a day off, we do that. Since we have utterly different culinary styles, I cook some Indian food that she hasn't tried. And she does the same for the Japanese and Korean food."
"Ah. Makes lotta sense."
"Hey, so, do you think you can tolerate spicy food?" Tegan asks, picking a moong dal packet.
Hwan arches a brow. "All have you know I've lived in Japan. And I can definitely handle anything with an abundance of spices. And I've eaten tons of kimchi soups and stews before I went there."
"Huh. Nijiko knows how to cook some mean kimchi soups."
"Yeah, wait until you try mine. In fact, I'm gonna prepare some while you cook your curry."
It might be her imagination yet Hwan's mouth quirks up at a corner. Just a fraction yet visible all the same. Kicking up her heart rate into high gear a little bit.
Tegan averts her eyes, rummaging through ingredients gathered at the counters.
Oww. She just had to be cute, huh?
"Okay then. I hope you can eat this Parippu curry. Once I'm done cooking it, of course."
Hwan just watches her, tracking her movements as she proceeds with the Parripu curry. Getting it's ingredients. Cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, coconut oil, dry red chillies, chili powder, mustard seeds, mung dal, grated coconut, curry leaves, pearl onions, and garlic.
She rinses one cup of mung dal into a bowl, putting turmeric powder, asafoetida, and two cups of water into the mix.
After setting a pressure cooker on the stove, she lifts the lids. Then pours the moong dal from a bowl, filling it up. She switches it on at medium and steps back.
"You're gonna have to wait for it to boil," Tegan explains as Hwan raises her brows. "And I gotta make some coconut paste to add into it."
"Got it. I'll go ahead and start with my kimchi stew."
Hwan flips a chopping board then settles it onto a counter. She whips up a knife out of a drawer. She rolls a batch of napa cabbage over it.
Tegan's jaw slacks at how she chops it into bite-sized pieces within two minutes. Somewhat like a ninja, who's got mega fast reflexes.
As the pressure cooker goes off at it's first whistle, it sends a jolt into Tegan. Snapping her back to her current surroundings.
Darn it. She can't get carried away by this. Her poor brain would be tricked into thinking it's some date or something. And she can't let that happen.
With a grimace, she squeezes her eyes shut.   Maybe her best friend set out to torture her with this. Showing her on who she can't be with.
Oh, well. She's gotta manage, somehow. Especially when Hwan throws an expectant look at her.
For whatever it has to be. . .
Tegan blinks and smacks her forehead. She turns the stove down and the fire goes out. She removes the lid, instantly greeted by a waft of steam.
Gee, right. She has to work on the coconut paste before she fully cooks the parripu curry. So, she gets a blender jar.

Titanarin, + excited
ahh, here ya go, kly! just a mini exploration of Titanarin's psyche. ^-^
send me a prompt? for any oc, dynamic, fandom characters, concepts.
Word Count: 350
T.W/C.W: None-ish

Some people regarded Titanarin as odd whenever they witnessed their anticipation of a scheme. Whether it could be grand or trivial, their mind carried ideas of what to do.
They often put work into bringing their plans into fruition. Proceeding with a gusto that they ought to have lost. Their profession often led them to tricky situations, where they didn't have much solutions. However, they were one to wait and draw any opportunities out.
At the prospect of travelling to a land known for it's riches, they tend to be over eager. And it trapped them in a position, where they need to think through. Entering into a building while avoiding guards. Infiltrating a room without getting caught. All those things.
Perhaps, such feeling should have worn off by now. Since they had been a pirate for about a decade or so.
Yet it didn't. And if Titanarin had learned anything through their journey, it was how they would encounter the unexpected constantly. They looked forward to it.Despite how it could lead them to situations that they despised. A bargain going wrong. Or someone alerted of their presence and intentions to steal. They managed escaping from them whenever they could, leaving nothing in their tracks.
Sailing off to the next location and observing their surroundings.
Thankfully, their notoriety aided them. They didn't need to disguise themselves due to how people assumed they weren't the way they looked. They often believed Titanarin to be a tall man of fair skin and light-colored hair instead of a person with dark skin and flowing dreadlocks.
Perhaps, they did have an addiction to trouble a bit. Their adrenaline jumping high while they escaped from those chasing them. Celebrating their victory at how they got away from anyone's grasp. Remaining elusive as much as they could.
With dragons and missing princesses into the mix, they couldn't pretend how the prospect of a search didn't intrigue them. They could get a reward for their help in exchange.
Yes, Titanarin thought as they looked out at a port window. They would be prepared for such challenge.

This looked shiny was Moloky's first thought upon her sight at a crest on the Captain's office. Peering at it from a view, perched on her tree stand.
Several jewels and gold filled it up. Sparkling and glimmering, just beyond her grasp.
No one guarded this room and Captain appeared to be off the ship, busy elsewhere. They wouldn't be bothered if she had a closer look. . . and it wouldn't be anyone's business if they found her. . . hoarding it.
Slowly, she started flapping her wings and jumped out of her seat. Soaring high and zoomed into the treasures awaiting her.
Before she could even land on it, an arm swept over it and she flew back, flapping her wings. She blinked, searching for what or. . . who would put a dent to her scheme. . .
"No," a raspy-ish voice said. Then slammed the crest trunk down, obscuring what was in it.
Tilting her head, she let out a pitiful caw.
Most sad noises often let people think twice and take what she wanted. However. . . However. . . This particular person. . . they wouldn't. Therefore, it wouldn't be much of a success.
"Uh oh," Moloky uttered, feeling her insides sink.
"You wretched, foul beast," Ianette replied, blocking her way. "You shall not be allowed to be near it. Captain's gonna sell it for business."
Moloky's beak dropped. "Drats! Drats!"
Ianette chuckled, raising their head with a smirk. They simply plopped down on a chair in front of the desk. Moloky deflated, her wings nearly ready to give out on her.
Foiled! Thwarted! How dare they!?
She had known that pesky human didn't enjoy her company. Especially when she spun around their head in circles, cawing and squawking.
But to this extent? Of putting such treasures from her reach?
How treacherous, she thought. How rude.
With a feeble caw, she settled back onto her tree stand. Wiping a foot across it, her gaze fixed on the wooden crest. Closed and hiding those shiny treasures.
Perhaps, she would try this again. . . without any interferences involved.

Hi Enchant, happy STS!
Tell me more about Claude! Anything and everything 😌
hi there, kly!! thanks for this ask!
hmm, wow, i'm a bit surprised by this, tbh. however, i can tell how much i can.
claude's a quintessional sort of introvert. she enjoys solitude and maintains her social battery as a priority. and she has a bad reputation and doesn't care bc. . . she enjoys the outrage from ppl, lmao. even tho, most of the rumors about her are 100% lies. she pays ppl (superheroes and supervillains alike) to make things up about her, lmao. she's wealthy but not in the bruce wayne way. she's also heavily scarred from fire and is amputated on her lower left leg. she has long adjusted to her appearance but does have her moments of doubt.
then she only went to caltech to obtain a title as a professor, sksksk. took years but it was worth the effort. and she's a space explorer, who wishes she has a chewie-like companion, 😂. but she doesn't, so she travels on her own. she is smart but does make deliberately careless (or as her friends refer to as 'stupid') decisions. she also pesters others with her smart-ass tendancies, lmao. however, she knows when to shut up when neccessary.
this is as much i can share!! since i'm on mobile and stuff. 😌
