Finished the rainbow shift zig zag socks. Am stoked that the second sock color change was consistent throughout - yarn is funny. One ball changed through rainbow evenly and the other suddenly stayed blue/green/purple. Yay for asymmetrical socks!

i think i wanna start knitting/crocheting (was awake at 2am bc of quali and impulsively decided to unearth some of my old craft stuff) — is knitting or crocheting easier to pick up ?? (and if i was to be doing it in the middle of the night with a roommate, which would be quieter…??) any advice is appreciated (tips, recommendations for tutorials, etc) 🫶🫶

Aaaand I'm done with row 9/31! 😃 (144/496 pieces) I've been busy knitting other things in the meantime but got the puzzle blanket bug again so the new row got finished 😊 also adding a picture with more other objects because I don't think the scale of the pieces is apparent in the photos from straight above. This thing is more than half a meter long (row-wise) already!
I'm using it as a cape and as a small blanket for my legs already - the advantage of sewing existing pieces together, no needles sticking in the project 😁
As always, the pattern is "Puzzle Pieces" by Meghan Ellinger, which is available on Ravelry for 5$.
Find my other progress posts under the tag "puzzle pieces blanket" :)

Dug into my stash and pulled out this lovely Three Irish Girls special color way “the doctor!” It screamed at me to be some socks - and excitement of excitement discovered that the color repeat would pool such that it moved around the sock! So cool. Hope they fit 😬

It’s full of stars!
Happy Hump Day!!
This is the “Framework Bralette”, by one of my favorite knitwear designers: Jessie Maed. Knitted by: Me.
The yarn is by an indie dyer that goes by the name SkeinCocaine, colourway: “Iconic”.
This is an easy, pretty quick, knit, and I love the structure of it. False seams make me happy.
These (yes, I have more than one of these cozy pieces , in a few different colors) get pulled out in the Winter and worn as an extra layer for warmth, and they really do work!
Bright colours for outerwear aren’t my thing, but something that won’t get really seen, like bras, camisoles, socks? I will wear colors, so the next one of these will be made out of yarn from another small dyer MadTosh, and will be in a colourway inspired by the Barbie movie. It’s a fuschia forward colourway with bright teals and purples colourway, and it’s called “Kenergy”. I might incorporate a hot orange yarn for the bottom and straps, making it a Barbenheimer piece. Who knows.
Kenergy is so ridiculously bright, it makes me laugh, and will be perfect under the layers of black I wear all Winter. Look out Doldrums. Imma have something waiting for you.
(Yes, I’ve contemplated making one out of something close to Maison Valentino’s signature PPPink, but…I can’t with pink on me. Even though that particular shade makes my eyeballs happy.)
And now, on to our regularly scheduled content…stuff…things…
