All I am going to say is that Sophia confirmed what I have been saying since always that there wasn't cheating and that Ashlyn's only mistake was not letting very clear from the start that she wanted the divorce and that she should have wait for the season to be over to filling the divorce papers. If she had waited for those 4 damn weeks, none of this was happening.

Also congrats for coming out of the closet with such grace and poise, Sophia. True gem.

I really wish Ali just had the guts to say ‘ash cheated’. We can go back and forth on wether ash should’ve waited to file for divorce after the season (my honest opinion was no, if you want to get divorced do it asap- it gets messy otherwise). But what a clusterfuck from both Ali and ashlyn. But atleast ashlyn had the guts to state her facts like Sophia unlike Ali- who actually trashed the mother of her kids

The thing is, to say that, Ali would have to prove and they have nothing cause it didn't happen anything between them. I agree with you, if you want to divorce, just go for it, especially if you are a famous person. Just look at Meryl Streep, when people found out she had filled for divorce, it was nearly everything figured out.

This whole divorce was so messy, it was why I laugh when Sophia said it different experiences between her and Ashlyn on divorce cause it sure was. Honestly I wish Ashlyn told more about what happened aside that statement that was sure written by a PR Manager but as Sophia said gracefully, what's the point? People already assumed stuff and even with facts said by two parts of this issue they are simply choosing to believe on whatever nonsense a fanfic writer from L Chat told them to.

I liked what SB said in her stories about the comments she's been receiving. I hope the message is heard. (I'm sure people will double down and wish her ill.) She just wants to live her life as a real person, flaws and all. She's right that what people say about (S and A) says more about them, than her and her partner.

She does that kind of thing a lot actually. I agree with the quote, but it's very naive to expect just positive thoughts cause of everything that happened.

I get that she just want to live her life and yada yada yada, but let's put this in a most simple way with what everyone knows so far: she is a public person taking her 1st girlfriend, who also is a public person, to a political and public event that was highly criticized cause of a genocide going supported by the people who are throwing the party and full of known zionists, all of this after yelling to the whole world that her ex was a jerk and that her GF is amazing, and her girlfriend happens to be someone that when they started to date, she was still married didn't even had the guts to tell her ex she was filling the divorce, all of that, when she spent 20 years dragging her first husband in the dirt for being a cheater. With that being said, it's very naive from her and from her fandom to expect everyone and their mothers were going to be all happy and dandy for them after this whole mess, cause they gave to the haters their wet dream in a silver plate, so it's obvious that it was going to be hate. Ashlyn always were very disliked in sports world, now every single fan, player and member of the sports press can speak openly about how "the leech just changed its host" (this is a comment made by a journalist friend of mine from ESPN), all left wing that dislikes Sophia are claiming she is an hypocritical, all the conservatives that hates her are saying she is a has-been using the gay agenda to promote herself. And Sophia just prove that their struck a nerve on her with that quote. It's what Tyrion Lannister says in Game of Thrones: "Never forget what you are, the rest of the world will not." The world will always remember how this started and will bring back whenever they feel like it cause they know it will piss her off.

I have no hope for that hate to decrease, cause according to socialblade, the negative comments increased for Sophia after Saturday, mostly cause of her presence on WHCA (which is funny cause of course she was going to it, she attends every year and she is until her neck on Biden's campaing. And honestly, this worries more than her relationship with Ashlyn, cause they are calling her "genocide Lesbian Barbie" among other heavy stuff. Neither in 2016 was this heavy) and most of Ashlyn new followers are Mohammeds (bots brought to stalk someone) and haters just waiting for her to open their comments to trash them.

For reals? I dont give a flying a fart to their relationship on that matters. If she thinks Ashlyn is awesome, Good for her. Not everyone is 100% evil or 100% good. Maybe she doesn't like to talk or that she share more stuff in common with Sophia than what they show. But you also have to keep in mind that we don't know what she told Sophia, she might have lied and Sophia doesn't know about it, and she did that before. It's also why I keep repeating it that I have a strong bias toward Ashlyn for the stuff she tried to pull with people I am friends with in real life, so you guys dont take in consideration when I get pissed with her cause it's something I take to a personal. So yeah, to me, Sophia deserves better than a cocky person that knows how to lie very well when her ass is on the line. But you guys are open to have your own opinion too.

But again, Let's wait and see. As I said before, I am mostly watching this as movie or a reality show and I am really curious to see if this are going to be reverted somehow or if it's going to increase.

Am I the only one who thinks that they were clearly putting on a show on the white house correspondents' dinner? It doesn't look natural.

You are not alone in this. Especially on twitter, there were a lot of comments on that matter. Some friends in press talked about it too, especially if you take in consideration the timing of the article, it was very "convenient" it coming out exactly 2 days prior the WHCA's weekend, since Sophia shows up in that event every year when a dem is in the president's seat and right when Ali Krieger is out of town (one more proof of how Sophia is awsome in the PR Game. Also AK seems to focused in her own stuff, like the three of them are on very different roads for the public right now.)

And honestly? For the little I have seen of it, I understand why someone would think that, especially comparing with the other couples there like Colin Joust and ScarJo on the red carpet. To me, I am not much impressed by it, cause again it looked like Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch, but on a red carpet. They were more organic and better looking overall in the earlier event and in the sunday's brunch (not much of a fan of their outfits and make-up for the gala, it was too much in a bad way, in comparition with the other guests. But I liked a lot Sophia's outfit and make-up for the other events, and Ashlyn's make-up for those were really good too, while the suits were very tacky, she wore better outfits before, and I am sorry, but both of them it looks like stuff that came out of Neymar's closet, please, burn that pale pink outfit, no adult looks good in pale pink.)

When you say there was no cheating are you talking about physical cheating? Because emotional cheating is a thing and I wouldn't be surprised if they emotionally cheated.

Funny cause you reminded me one of my sources when I asked about the cheating and she said "depends on what you consider cheating". But yeah, I was talking about physical cheating. Honestly, me too, because from Sophia's article and from what people told me, they were really close after that Cannes' event. To me, cheating is already a sign stuff aren't doing great, it doesn't matter if it's physical or emotionally, cause it shows you can't really trust your feelings and thought to the person you are dating. To get in this point, it's better to divorce and move on, you know.

As much as I love Sophia I have to say that this isn't the first time that she's performative or acts like a hypocrite with her activism. She often chooses what to advocate for based on what's convenient for her.

I had to take a moment before answering this because it's a subject I have really strong opinions, cause I am very left wing and Sophia is pretty much a centrist/progressist, that sells herself as moderate left wing, as most of US celebrities, who thinks democratic party is left wing when in fact it's center with inclinations towards right.

With that being said, it's a critic I don't necessarily agree with but I can understand the place where it comes from and it's a very pertinent criticism, cause she is very vocal when it's about a minority she isn't part of or something related to US women, that might affect her directly/indirectly, but when it's something bad related to what Biden's administration/Democratic Party or that might put her businesses in danger, she conveniently forgets it exists or just do a very plain approach of the subject so she doesn't hurt her brand.

Don't get me wrong, I admire the work she does, it would be amazing that more celebrities were engaged in real activism like she is, she really go that extra mile that lacks many people when it comes to activism online on daily basis and she is of a few celebrities that knows how to use her platform, I said so many times that we can see that she actually cares for the stuff she defends, however, she is also a business woman, she works in the entertainment business and she is very close to the Democratic Party's currently directory (Main leaders of the party,), so yeah, she is going to use whatever she can to sell the image of progressist person, cause it's also good to her brand and it's how politics and Hollywood works.

However for someone that is part of a minority, that doesn't have a platform or any form of power, it's annoying to see a white cis person speaking about racism and transphobia, as if being a woman and a member of LGBT community it's enough to give her free pass to advocate about a pain, that she doesn't know what it is like, cause she is a white cis woman that presents herself as her gender she was asigned on her birth and she will never know what is like to be treated as potential threat just because of the color of your skin or having to deal with people conveniently wronging your pronoums just to invalidate your identity. This is pretty much as if a cis guy was picket to represent a group of women in a women's right event. People criticized her for her Tulsa Riot's theming wedding, and they were totally right, I know she had the best intentions, but whenever I see pictures of it, I can't help but to think this is something Ms. Morello from "Everybody Hates Chris" would do, cause this can be read as a white person trying to hijack a serious event from a black community to promote herself.

And it's amazing how she is able to create a moral vaccum that makes her capable of passionately defend stuff in her podcasts, such as the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and not even care enough to go into 1 single picket line during the nearly 200 days of those strikes and even joked about having a lot of free time to read books and enjoying a vacation. Like, my dude, Charlie Hunnam, he is an immigrant, he is a white dude that doesn't get involved in politics, cause he fears that he can be deported, he has no social media, he was still recovering from a back injury from Rebel Moon's set, he had every single excuse to avoid this issue that people were going to understand, but once he came back from England in the first weeks of the strike, he was in every single fucking picket line until the end of both strikes. She keeps asking for a ceasefire, she signed the artists for ceasefire letter, and posted a thing or two on social media about it, but she is in every single dem funding raise and WH's partie's like the one last night, while Biden's administration is actively beating the crap out of students in pacific protests requesting Biden and Kamala stop funding Palestine's genocide (To me, everyone who was there last night is a fucking hypocritical, including people I admire such as Sophia, Chris Pine and Lynda Carter).

And again, I get that she doesn't want to risk her relationships, her own livinghood and the brand she created cause she helps a lot of people with her business, but you also can't be defensive when the argument of being a performative activist is used against you.

Oof people on twitter, reddit, etc are really over Sophia and Ashlyn. Like nobody's rooting for them.

My dude, general public are with three moods: complimenting Sophia for coming out, trashing Ashlyn for cheating and saying they don't care and that Sophia is a lesbian now.

I dont think this will change for the next weeks or months, especially since Sophia put the eyes on her again.

Here's what will happen: It's going to pop up again blind itens about her sexuality and/or saying Ashlyn is cheating on her. She is going to focus on her work, but on june until november, she is going to focus on politics cause of elections. Ashlyn will tag along and be the plus one, people will keep saying she does nothing besides tagging a long her Gf (just like people said she did nothing besides following Ali around as a love sick puppy) and more rumors about Ashlyn cheating on Sophia. We are going to have the friendsgiving, it's going to be "super cool" cause it's the first time they can be out. Same with Christmas and new year, and still rumors about Ashlyn cheating on Sophia. They are going to live together, sophia keeps working relentlessly and the rumors will continue. The cycle goes on and on, until one day Ashlyn is seeing with a girl when Sophia is out of town and everyone says "no she is just a friend" and that friend became constant present figure, but not really seem. Until an article on People says that Sophia and Ashlyn broke up, but on good terms or what PR crap they will came up. But then Sophia will keep implying Ashlyn did something but not really say what was it, when Ashlyn's friend becomes her girlfriend and Sophia does an article to tell how Ashlyn broke her heart and haters say a big fat "WE TOLD YOU SO"

I don't think so, cause it's working for her to hide behind Sophia and let the most famous and charming one take the lead and protect her from the critics. Like, analyzing the currently social media data, she won around 3k of followers by playing dead and letting Sophia guide her, it reverted the fall tendency and she will end april with a stable followers count (when you lose/win the same amount of followers over 30 days or closer to this) even though she has about 74% of negative comments on all social media since Sophia's article and interview came out (it was about 79% prior the article) this is something that doesn't happen to her since august, cause she lost around 2.5k to 3k each month since september.

But the thing is, even bad engagement is engagement. Algorithm doesn't understand good or bad comments, it sees comments, and she had 0.9% of engagement and it grew to 1.2% after the article. So again, it's good for her to be quiet cause she can't prove Ali is lying about the divorce and she is having a bunch of fanatics keeping her relevant and able to play the victim card to the general public.

There's just two ways to clean this mess and it's very clear that they are not willing to go there to do it, so the best we can do is enjoy the ride and watch it crash and burn.

I personally think that ash should’ve just said fuck it and had a go back at ali and kk, when they started making up lies, but ash was nice enough with her retirement. Ash doing the right thing for the kids only ended up her being the shitkicker in this situation, she waited way to long with her statement and the narrative was set. Like even Sophia said in the video if it wasn’t for ash/kids she would’ve got lawyers involved

I mean there are 2 things that they could do to turn this hate on Ashlyn, without exposing her kids, but they aren't going to do it, cause both of them demands Ashlyn coming out of her comfortable position of using Sophia's resources as a shield. You can try a clean tactic or shady tactic:

1) clean one: Ashlyn stops letting Sophia fight her battles for her, come clean about everything and actually do something to justify the attention on her rather than just being her girlfriend's plus one. When I say come clean, I mean really clean, in as stopping pretending she is something that she isn't or adopting her gf's orientation. It's strip down all this show of fancy clothes and fashionable persona she created over the years, everything that is related to that and dress like a regular person (it's easier for people to connect and hear someone's voice when they notice the celeb is more down to earth when they dress humbly) and speak her version, closer to reality as possible, general public knows well when they are being lied to and she has to win their trust first. Also it's very important she finds something to work with outside soccer or anything sport related (cause she lost sport press' sympathy they won't help her to clean her image) or entertaining/political related, causual audience/main public will have more sympathy towards her if they see her doing anything that is not connected to her soccer past or connected with Sophia's works. They were joking again about her being a trophy girlfriend through this whole day. She only validates those comments by pretending to be a celebrity for association.

2) the shady one: It's try to change the narrative by creating a new one. This is pretty much by starting a rumor that they ended the relationship, then wait for a couple of weeks to the rumor to grow and let the haters really think they broke up, so the fanfics start to run and a lot of versions will pop without moving a finger, and then slowly showing them back together with the narrative that they tried to split but ended getting back together cause they realized they missed each other. This time with Ashlyn being the one doin the talking, and highlight how she felt miserable without Sophia and yada yada yada. The narrative will stop being about them cheating on their partners to something more as a starcrossed lovers, to sell that neither the haters could split them and they are really meant to be and all tht lovey dovey crap general public loves so much.

But again, they already showed they arent willing to do neither of those things, cause especially to the first one, it would demand her to tell what really happened between her and Ali and she won't do that not cause of the BS of "PrOtEcTiNG ThE cHiLdReN" or "I'm A pRiVaTe PeRsOn", it's because it's easier for Ali to debunk her version cause Ali has proof that Ashlyn didn't tell her about the divorce and she has public/press sympathy and it's easier for ashlyn let Sophia tarnish the name she took years to build to protect her than telling the truth.

Is it clear to you why Ash and Ali's marriage didn't work out? It's weird to me, that it seems woso, et al., all came out against Ash so quickly. I feel they were manipulated by Ali's bro to cover whatever Ali did that may have contributed to the marriage ending. But, it went too far.

I already talked more on this, this, this, this and this asks, but long story short, their relationship was based on Ashlyn doing whatever Ali wanted and then being angry and sad for not being the center of Ali's universe in return.

About the players and fans, the hate towards Ashlyn it's the only thing everyone has in common now lol, but for reals that hate is mostly Ashlyn's fault, she became that kind of player that it's very loud, but it's not as great as she thinks she is (we have a name for that in Brazil, it's called "bagre" (catfish)), that grew up especially when she and Naeher were fighting for Hope Solo's spot as starting goalkeeper. She trashtalked teammates, but never lived up the hype she builded around herself off the field. And if there's one thing I know about sports since I can remember is that you can only have an attittude if you really a gamechanger. Sam Kerr can be cocky cause she is a gamechanger, Sheridan can be cocky cause she is gamechanger, but Ashlyn can't say she is a gamechanger cause after Spirit's days she never really did anything that remarkable that changed a game or made the difference, especially NT wise. So people was only waiting for a mistake from her part to justify sending hate/cut her from woso world, cause she was only tolerable cause people liked Ali and she was Ali's wife.

She is reaping what she sowed over the years by being insufferably cocky with teammates and fans.

I still don't understand why Sophia is with Ashlyn. Does she not realize that she was being lied to? Have some self-respect, girl. Why are you with someone who has lied to you from the very beginning? And when that person eventually lies to/about you then what??

On the article she explained that Ashlyn gave her support on a bad moment and something changed. It's a beautiful story and all, but she is forgetting that: homegirl doesn't know what her beau told her ex-wife, cause again, look at how the whole soccer world, INCLUDING the sport journalism, is against Ashlyn (as a side note, Sophia's article destroyed pretty much all the remaining sympathy they had in sports press.)

Honestly? I think she trully believes on whatever the story Ashlyn told her and she believes it so much, that she is ready to cut people out for trying to warn her. From what I heard from a source, it was why she unfollowed Merritt and it's probably why she is avoiding talking about soccer. When a person is in love and believes this blindly in the other, there's nothing anyone can do about it, there's nothing you can say that will change their mind unless they see it for themselves, so the only thing you can do is just support the person and hopes for the best, that's for them realize they are being lied to.

Why are you with someone who has lied to you from the very beginning? And when that person eventually lies to/about you then what??

I have a personal theory for this based on Sophia's interviews/podcasts and on some articles/books I read about teen tv shows and for my therapy over the years that what Sophia is doing is mostly compensating the time she has lost by connecting a job into other and the 3 years on quarantine we had plus the nearly death experience she had last june plus the sexuality euphoria (it's the happiness you have when you finally finds out you are queer, you finally can be open about it and experience this aspect of your life) and she is so connected with Ashlyn introducing that freedom to her and giving her the support she wasn't having from Grant or any of her friends that she can't imagine that she has been lied to, cause that person is so important to her that she can't risk losing her.

It's why she is so adamantly defending Ashlyn, even though it's becoming very clear she was leading Sophia on on that divorce's story. She doesn't want to questioning herself again, even though Ali was speaking the truth when she said she knew about the divorce through though press and it's impossible to 90% of the soccer world saying Ashlyn lied to Ali about the divorce cause her plan was to Ali know about when she was cited in court (which is a fairly common legal procedure when you don't want to deal with your ex.). Sophia simply chose to ignore the red flags, just like she did Grant, just like she did with JSL and CMM.

She will only realize what is going on when it happens to her the same thing that it happens to Ali (When Ashlyn finds support in other person and keeps lying to her). Until them, she will create excuses for Ashlyn's behavior to herself and blame the woso fandom or Ashlyn's haters, like she did in her article. It's why, as a fan, I already accepted whatever will happen and I am just enjoying watching as a movie. Pretty that's the same her closer friends and family are doing.

Everyone is trying to make someone into villain or a victim with the Ash/Ali/Sophia situation and I think much like life, it isn’t that simple. I think Ali seems like an amazing teammate/friend/mother. She’s driven, funny and clearly a very hard worker.

Ash seems like she is a really good partner. Moved to Germany, moved to DC, helped Ali get back on the USWNT, waited to get married until Ali was ready to be public, moved to NY when I think she would have preferred to retire in Florida.

My theory (which could be wildly incorrect) is that Ash wanted to be put first with Ali and had really struggled with the move to NY after not making the Olympic team and her grandparents passing and injuries, etc. and Ali was focused on being the captain of the team and this was her last season. Maybe she thought she could fix it after the season.

I honestly can empathize with both of them. You can call Ash selfish for wanting to be put first or you could call Ali selfish for asking Ash to wait until she was ready to announce their separation. In the end, we are all selfish and none of that makes either of them bad people.

It's why i keeping saying that putting my bias toward Ashlyn aside, she was right in wanting to leave Ali, Ali was right to wanting her last dance, especially with her dad in the conditions he was, and that Sophia was right to leave Grant cause it was very clear since April 2023 that he was more interested in other stuff than being married with her and start a family. But people overall wanted to force Ashlyn to accept her only value was as Ali's glorified nanny and accepting all Ali wanted without questioning cause Ashlyn has become an insufferable person over the years and this is the only way she is tolerable. But all these women are more than that and more than just their relationship.
