I don’t know why House Stark makes Targs fanatics foam at the mouth when the Lannisters have been that family’s biggest nightmare throughout their reign, and Aerys was incredibly jealous of Tywin and felt upstaged by him. The Lannisters putting in all the hard work to bring down that cursed dynasty since they set foot on Westerosi soil and their effort doesn’t even get appreciated. And thanks to Cersei, Rhaenyra’s and Daemon’s descendants no longer sat on the Iron Throne (because let’s not forget that Robert is their direct descendant and his paternal grandmother is Rhaelle Targaryen).
i have to say, i haven't paid much mind to targnation-starkdom diplomatic relations in order to make a qualified assessment about this. i was under the impression that targ stans were mostly neutral about the starks as a whole? the only one they really seemed to hate was sansa
and, honestly, a lot of that is due to their inability to identify that daenerys and house stark MAY end up having differing, incompatible objectives, otherwise, yes, they would be absolutely foaming at the mouth. but from what i've observed, they mostly just can't fathom why anyone "decent" could ever possibly align themselves against god empress dany christgaryen, so in their fantasies, dany & the starks mostly end up being friends
the sansa opposition is a direct influence of the show, because, for some reason, d&d decided to pile all the possible stark/north dissatisfaction with daenerys on top of her and make her the odd one out
as for the second part of your post, i, for one always found it pretty cool how the targaryens' (+valyrians') doom was entwined with house lannister in one way or the other, but there's no current evidence that this was some long-form historical plan of theirs passed from generation to generation. they have been opportunistic and sometimes even ruthless in their advancement, but i'd say they settled for the nuclear option only as a last resort. tywin's betrayal of aerys came after long years of deranged behaviour and when he was more-or-less losing the war anyway, whereas cersei endured a lot at robert's hands before she decided to hurry his death along. her motives were entirely personal, not ideological i.e. some parasocial historical beef with daemyra :))
also, since i've already started ranting, i wish we could nuance the discussion of robert's death a little bit, because people are a little too eager to point the regicide finger at cersei, IMO. yes, she told lancel to spike robert's wine, but lancel didn't hold the king down and waterboard him with alcohol against his will. even if robert didn't know it was strongwine, he knew it was WINE and he kept drinking it while intentionally and purposelessly placing himself in a dangerous situation. he surely must have felt it was heady, yet he kept drinking it and did nothing to modify his behaviour - basically the equivalent of a medieval DYI. robert was fully in charge of his decisions and his bodily integrity and he chose to do the stupid thing anyway. he wasn't murdered. he did this to himself.

“Turning a bright eye to the violent misogyny and fascist rhetoric that’s present in the Green fandom just gives it room to grow unchallenged as they harass women.”
I’m sorry, I didn’t express myself very clearly. I was talking about Alicent’s fans reblogging his posts and interacting whith him while knowing his political ideas and his views on feminism, reproductive rights, immigration, Muslims, etc. It’s extremely important to call out misogyny out, we deserve better than literal fascists and male supremacists running around in a fandom. Fans like him literally use fandoms to promote and trojan-horse far-right ideology into the brains of perhaps unsuspecting audiences.
@lareinechevaliers refers to this recent POST (please click to find out info on an active Tumblr user who's very misogynist and very popular!).
Oh, 100% agree. Fuck him.
BTW, guys, harass =/= critique or criticize. Insult, but make sure to make the insult count. Point out their misogyny. Of course, I can't tell you what to do, but at least you can seed out those who respond negatively to your points this way.

Hot take but I never cared about Cersei usurping the throne. First, because she had to endure her husband’s rapes and beatings and no one tried to help her, and second, because I’ve always considered House Baratheon a cadet branch of House Targaryen since it was founded by the bastard brother of Aegon the Conqueror, Orys Baratheon. And even if he wasn’t Visenya’s, Aegon’s, and Rhaenys’s half-brother, Orys still was their Hand and completely devoted to them, and just as much of an imperialist as the Conqueror Trio (the Stormlands, his participation in the First Dornish War). And Robert’s paternal grandmother is a Targaryen.
Cersei murdering Robert is one of the most cathartic experiences I’ve ever had but it’s get even more satisfying when you remember that Robert is Rhaenyra’s and Daemon’s direct descendant. Cersei said “no more Rhaenyra’s and Daemon’s descendants on the Iron Throne, Westeros has progressed past the need for them.”
oh, i just realised you had previously sent me this related ask as well. sorry for taking so long, i am.... otherwise preoccupied atm 😅
most of this i addressed in my last post, but, yeah, overall robert deserved his fate and his death was a very satisfying, cathartic moment for the long-suffering wife trope. as a reader/show-viewer, i really enjoyed cersei getting her karmic revenge and her little moment in the spotlight as the resident bad bitch. 100% her usurpation era was for the girls and the gays ONLY & i was cheering tf out of it
but her machinations were entirely fueled by personal grievances, not a doctrinal dislike of all things targaryen

Duxbelisarius is literally a christofascist and so many Alicent’s fans interact with him. His bio says it all. He clearly use HOTD as a vessel to channel his misogynistic and conservative propaganda.
Tumblr media
He’s pro-life and against contraception (x x x x x x)
He’s racist and violently islamophobic (x x x x x)
He also reblogged lies about white farmers being slaughtered in South Africa (x) and anti George Soros posts (x)
He also have tags like “better dead than red”, “leftist fuckery”, “cultural marxism” (let’s not forget that “cultural marxism” is literally a far-right antisemitic conspiracy theory). His blog is full of disgusting and reactionary posts.
No need to precise that he also stan Sansa and hates Daenerys.
Tumblr media
People really thought that a mainstream show about a woman who have sex outside marriage, natural children, a man passed over in favor of a woman (even thought she’s the eldest child), and her rivalry with a religious, traditional, and dutiful woman wouldn’t attract incels, men’s rights activists, male supremacists, and conservatives. Hilarious.

"Turning a bright eye to the violent misogyny and fascist rhetoric that’s present in the Green fandom just gives it room to grow unchallenged as they harass women."
I admit confusion:
One--have I been exposed to something by this Duxbelisarius person?
Two--are you saying that it's useless to castigate greenies for their misogyny when they, in real-time and real life, attack real women online and offline and I or others do nothing about it? Or are you saying that it's, in general, useless to expose and attack greenies for their misogynist takes?
"People really thought that a mainstream show about a woman who have sex outside marriage, natural children, a man passed over in favor of a woman (even thought she’s the eldest child), and her rivalry with a religious, traditional, and dutiful woman wouldn’t attract incels, men’s rights activists, male supremacists, and conservatives."
I mean, I wasn't shocked by the misogyny and awakened incels as I personally rebuke people for their misogyny. If a story has feminist roots (as Rhaenyra's story is a feminist concern), yes there will be incels and misogyny, just as there was for Daenerys Stormborn. And misogyny has always been a central focus in ASoIaF and the tv show GoT, even if not properly criticized regarding sexual violence and such by GRRM himself.
This goes back to the two things I was confused about. Are you saying that it's useless for me to point out misogyny without doing anything else simultaneously?
As for this Duxbelisarius guy, thanks for alerting me and others who might be reading this. I'll keep this person on my list for people to avoid or call out. We shall see.
