I send too much horny so heres some angst. Youre abbacchios s/o while hes in the force and you always make sure he knows how much you appreciate him and all his hard work to keep the city safe. And for a while it seems like everything is going well until his partner dies.

Then you have to watch the man you love destroy himself before he breaks up with you. When you ask why he says its because he doesn't love you and he never did, because in his mind you deserve better than someone like him. So you leave Italy because you need some time away to nurse your broken heart.

Years later, after Diavolo is defeated, Leone sees you on the streets of Napoli again, this time with a kid in tow. He thinks that of course you moved on and found someone better. And instead of approaching you he just ducks back to his apartment and pops open another bottle of wine. 🌺

It took a few tear-soaked years, but you learned to deal with the pain and put on a brave face. You’ve pushed aside your heartache to find your ex-lover and introduce him to the child at your side. The boy is Leone’s son. Very shortly after Leone broke up with you and you left the country, you found out that you were pregnant. Your family rejoiced in the news, but you sobbed harder than you ever have before. You desperately wanted the man you were in love with to be in his child’s life, but he told you bluntly: he doesn’t love you and he never did.

Part of you thought that if maybe Leone could meet his kin, he could learn to love something. If not himself or you, then the sweet silver-haired boy that called you his mother. The older your son became, the more of Leone you could see in him. He was sweet and protective, just as his father was. He was opinionated and had a strong sense of self, even at the young age he was. You knew that if Leone knew of his son, he’d be as proud of the boy as you are.

You were on your way to Libeccio, walking hand-in-hand with your son. If you knew anything about Leone Abbacchio, it is that he doesn’t like change. He drinks the same brand of wine, at the same restaurant, and passes out at the same ungodly hour every night. You knew if you couldn’t locate him anywhere else, he would be there. Bruno Bucciarati--the ever-so helpful man that he was--had reached out to you and offered his assistance in reuniting you with Leone, but you rejected his offer. It was something you needed to do alone.

Leone sat on the floor at the front of his door and took a huge swig of alcohol, almost choking himself. The concoction slipped bitterly down his throat, and he hung his head between his knees. He wasn’t going to cry--his pain was far past that at this point. Though he knew that his judgement was impaired, he decided to take a leap of faith. He took another large drink before drunkenly exiting his apartment again, stumbling a short distance down the street. The man willed his hazy eyes to straighten while he searched for you.

You already disappeared off the street awhile ago. More faces that weren’t yours passed by him. Leone’s shoulders fell and a pit of emptiness weighed heavily in his chest. With a resounded sigh, he plopped his ass on the curbside. He took another drink. No matter how drunk he got, thoughts of you never left his mind.

Not really a request but it is for the near spooky season. If abbacchio was a spooky boi would he be a spiderkin, a snakekin, a necromancer, a demon, or a drow?

but they’re all such GOOD THOUGHTS

i like the idea of necromancer abbacchio because so much of his story is based on his guilt for his partner. i like the idea of him fucking up and turning to Dark Magic and Necromancy and giving away little pieces of his soul only to bring his partner back wrong (maybe in this scenario diavolo is a demon he makes a deal with but abbacchio’s soul and the rest of his mortal time on earth is forfeit and passione are just people in various debts to diavolo or who work for him and bruno feels sorry for abba and it gets into soft bruabba territory)

but if you’re talking Born Spooky, i personally have a big old fear of spiders so he doesn’t get to do that!!! i don’t really see him as snake-kin either, i imagine nagas/snake people/etc as being a lot more . . . i suppose calculating than abbacchio is? abbacchio is at heart a good man who made bad mistakes and is haunted by his own guilt. that being said, i’d go for demon out of the options you gave (especially if you add in that he’s like, a fallen angel and some delicious Catholic Guilt (TM)).

i also low-key love the idea of like . . . guilty banshee leone. heralds deaths by singing. i know they’re usually women but idk i just think it’s Neat (especially with his design)!!! i’ve considered writing a whole fey AU where abbacchio is like, a guilty seelie knight who caused the death of someone important in the seelie court and was saved by Bruno (who is in this case unseelie) and abbacchio just is devoted to him and follows him around. bruno’s allowed to keep him based entirely on the fact abbacchio just up and gave him his true name so bruno really has. A Big Old Hold on abba. i’m just really love fey mythology.
