Sometime in the middle of the night Eliot woke up from a nightmare. He gasped and sat up, his breath coming in Shakey gasps.
Hardison was by Eliot's side within seconds. He sat down next to Eliot and put a comforting hand on Eliot's shoulder.
Eliot knocked Hardison's hand away and turned quickly, ready to fight. But as his senses came back to him recognition dawned and relief flooded over him.
"Hey, take it easy," Hardison said softly. "It's just me. Your safe." He added.
A shiver ran through Eliot's body and he buried his face in his hands.
"Sorry." He mumbled in a shaky voice.
"It's okay, man." Hardison said, placing a hand on Eliot's shoulder. He was shocked at how hard Eliot was trembling, unsure if it was from cold or nerves, but he didn't think it was that cold. He unzipped his hoodie and took it off.
"Here," he said, handing it to Eliot.
He waited for Eliot to put it on then pulled him into a gentle hug, half expecting Eliot to pull away, but Eliot just leaned in closer and rested his head on Hardison's shoulder.
Hardison was a little surprised. He wasn't sure what exactly they had done to Eliot during those couple of weeks, but apparently it had been bad enough that Eliot didn't even want to pretend to be all tough and distant. I guess two weeks away from your family will do that to a guy, Hardison thought. He hugged Eliot a little tighter, not wanting to let go ever again.

The next morning, Eliot blinked open his eyes. The early morning sunlight slanted through the window and there was a strange smell wafting through the air. He sat up with a groan and looked around. Parker was still asleep in the chair next to the couch and Hardison was in the kitchen, cooking up a disaster. Eliot realized that's where the smell was coming from. I better go save the kitchen, Eliot thought. He stumbled to his feet, taking a moment to steady himself before heading for the kitchen. He was still stiff as hell and sore all over, but the worst of the pain had died down overnight.
He had barely made it a few feet before Parker woke up, rubbed her eyes and looked around. As soon as she noticed Eliot she jumped to her feet and ran over to him.
Eliot let out a surprised grunt and stumbled a little as Parker threw her arms around him and buried her face in his shoulder.
"We were really worried about you." Parker mumbled.
Eliot wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm okay." He reassured her.
He closed his eyes and rested his chin on her shoulder, letting a slight smile spread across his face. It was good to be home, he thought and hugged parker a little tighter.
