We mentioned this a while back as part of a larger post, but it bears repeating on its own – it is in fact common for systems to experience a burst of new system members shortly after syscovery. If this happens/ed to you, it's not a sign that you were wrong about your plurality – it's just something that happens.
Why does it happen? Could be any number of reasons, really. Maybe you've been stressed about this whole process, and that's caused some new folks to pop up to deal with it. Maybe they're old members coming out of dormancy. Maybe it's psychological, and your brain is responding to the change in dissociative barriers and how your system works. Maybe it's spiritual, and all you really needed was a foot in the door for the gate to open, like folktales that say just knowing about other entities can draw their attention to you. Maybe you get new members really easily, and this is just the first time you've knowingly experienced a burst. Whatever the reason, the effect is the same – a sharp increase in number of system members just as you're figuring things out.
It can be off-putting! Frightening, even! But as I said earlier, it's not an automatic sign that you're wrong about being a system. You'll find plenty of other systems who have gone through similar when they were first discovering their systems. Take a breath, take things one step at a time, and trust that things will work out if you just keep working at it. That's how most things work out.

has anyone else noticed that there seem to be 3 kinds of caitvi fanart
league designs for both of them
arcane designs for both of them
league cait/arcane vi
and all of those make sense in my mind on some level. but nobody ever uses vi's league design and caitlyn's arcane design at the same time

I'm replaying a bit of Bustafellows to fact-check for a fanfic I'm working on, and it strikes me that Limbo and Helvetica make very interesting foils for each other if you play their routes back-to-back.
Vague spoilers for both routes under the cut
Both of their routes have similar driving forces behind the conflicts; someone important to them from their past has resurfaced and begun causing problems, which they are hesitant to involve the police on because of their prior closeness. They're both deeply loyal people who still value those bonds despite the tragic incidents surrounding them.
And yet, the ways that they choose to handle their respective situations are very different. Helvetica is very open with the group about what is happening, how he feels about it, and why it is difficult for him. The moment Teuta suspects there may be a problem, he lets her into the loop and keeps her updated on how he's handling it. When it becomes clear that the issue is so overwhelming that he cannot handle it by himself, he asks the group for help. He clearly explains why it matters so much to him and why he wants to handle things this particular way, even if the group does not agree.
Meanwhile, Limbo goes the opposite direction. He chooses to bottle everything and insist on handling it himself, even when repeatedly faced with evidence that it's not the kind of problem that will go away on its own. He continues to double down, even as the situation escalates past a point that anyone else would find to be immediately alarming, and does not even begin to open up about it until it becomes SO blatant that the others hear about it on the evening news. And even after the rest of the group involves themselves, he still downplays his emotions about it, pretending that he isn't really worried about it even when he is hurting and terrified (a truth that he only shares with Teuta, and mostly while loopy.)
And you can see these differences in each others routes as well. Helvetica is furious at Limbo in his route for shutting them out and acting like it's no big deal (and yet, interestingly, cannot or will not say that it's because he's worried about him. Shu has to spell it out for both of them). He knows that Limbo won't take action, and so he steps up as the driving force for the group going behind Limbo's back to handle it themselves. He IS sympathetic, but his loyalty manifests as taking protective action.
Meanwhile, Limbo takes a backseat role in Helvetica's route, deferring to his judgement. Despite how much he clearly cares, he acts largely unfazed, providing emotional support to everyone else without really expressing his own feelings on the matter. Further than that, he puts a lot of effort into helping Helvetica maintain his dignity/handle things as he pleases. He DOES care about Helvetica's safety, but his loyalty manifests as protecting Helvetica's agency in the situation, even if that agency puts Helvetica himself in more danger.
It's just very interesting to me how similar they are and yet how different. Further, it's interesting to me that neither of them have an easier time than the other due to their approaches.
I REALLY love the character writing in this game.

levi is a schemer and a scammer, he is not above it. you argue with levi and give him the silent treatment after and that’s fine, he respects your space, gives you time to cool off, he’s great at being silent. but now he suddenly has all the time in the world to bake croissants, and make smoothies, and cook your favorite dinner and then it’s a knock on your door because, “i know you’re ignoring me but i made dinner... it’s still hot, we can eat in silence if you want,” knowing full well his scheme is not to sit there silently, but that you can’t resist a homecooked meal. it’s evil, truly.

I had no idea the Welcome Home ARG even existed until like 3 hours ago.
And based on what I've seen, I want no part in their fandom. Good day gamers.

i think systems and/or alters acknowledging they are parts of one and treating alters as separate if they wish so should be things that coexist.
yes we are parts of one
but sometimes the barriers make us so distinct, and while integrating & healing are important parts of recovery we forget not all systems have access to recovery or therapy. it is difficult. and it feels odd to be referred to as someone different than i actually am, sometimes

Talking about memory issues is so annoying 'cause like. You gotta make a joke out of it or people will make a joke out of you. Y'know? I've gotta make a joke about how my issues with remembering important or common information is because x or y or haha yeah I know I'm so stupid, because that's the only way to get ahead of the people who will inevitably use those same jokes to mock you. And I'm trying not to let my memory issues affect how I view my self-worth, and I try to go against the idea that intelligence (or lack thereof) is an indicator of anything deeper, and I know that having a hard time remembering details doesn't reflect on my morality at all, but... it's hard to keep at it when the world tells you otherwise. When school tells you memorization = smart = good, when people tell you not remembering things about them means you're rude and mean, when not remembering something or mixing up information in public or online spaces inevitably gets people laughing at you, and often used as an excuse for bigotry or just general asshole behavior of some kind or another against you.
It's so tiring.

the cruellest thing arcane ever did was show me, personally, a friendly axolotl the size of a small car and safe to hug without hurting her, and then immediately rip her away again

I am having Big Feelings about Sakazaki Yuuya today.
The full weight of his situation didn't really sink in in my first playthrough in light of. Everything Else In BBL. but MAN. man. Knowing about the blackmail is retroactively haunting. I like to believe that he found a way to use it (playing the underdog? appearing harmless?) to get more information out of Shuu, but man. how much evidence did he himself destroy? What kind of conversations with Leone happened after? I doubt Shuu would have trusted him with anything too critical-- I imagine he only had him handle Hiyoko in BBL because she's human and thus very heavy, but man. (And that's not to mention the fact that Shuu doesn't even need him specifically, he dismembers Hiyoko just fine in his own ending. He's a high-ranking Hawk, he's got connections. He could have someone else in there whenever he wanted to handle it. In true Iwamine fashion, he's almost certainly doing it because he thinks it's funny.)
and then there's the egg situation which. He feels SO guilty for it, but it was not only allowed, but encouraged by his parental figures at the time. they let him do it. they just didn't know which child he was disposing of. they let a child get rid of his unborn brother just because they couldn't bear to/didn't want to bother to do it themselves. As a teenager that part didn't sink in, but as an adult it's HORRIFYING that they put him through that. and he took the blame for it!! and he carries it!!!
Adults really have been using Yuuya to dispose of bodies his ENTIRE life. Fucking OUCH man.

Unpopular opinion: I actually like the code realize anime better than the game. I feel like the writing is much better in the game, but I like the things they do in the anime more and I like the dynamics between the characters in the anime more. I feel like the anime kind of hits that sweet spot of everybody being good friends that the game didn't quite hit for me

levi should have known that his kid was gonna volunteer him to be a chaperone on their school trip—and he doesn’t mind, really, he just didn’t expect to be so popular amongst a sea of five year olds. the other parents are left in the dust, for whatever reason, everybody wants to hold levi’s hand and sit next to him on the bus, he’s the main attraction it’s like the kids don’t even care about the trip (it might have something to do with how his daughter has been hyping him up to his classmates, very loudly and proudly proclaiming that her daddy is the best)
