PART TWO

Time was ticking, the night was vanishing and he still had so many candies left, yikes!

Cupidyoon fully intended to ship Tee (@lgctee) with another V&A member, but decided the Jintee fangirls were way too scary to mess with. Tee got his soda candy first and Cupid took his sweet time walking around before finally dropping the matching one in Jinseo (@lgcjinseo)'s palm. The patience couple, he shall call this ship, because it was sailing at the speed of molasses. At this point, Seyoon might end up with four kids before these two even get any.

Seyoon noticed some sort of tension between Minkyu (@lgcminkyu) and Jihan (@lgcjihan). He figured any tension could be good tension and sometimes a little resentment made better sex. Regular cherry flavored candies went to this couple - just make up already!

The blueberry candy in his hand was reserved for Seunghyun's match but honestly, Seyoon was struggling. Seunghyun (@shxlgc) was his childhood friend, occasional enemy and an annoying twat. Nobody really deserved Seunghyun, take that sentence however you would like. So with a grin, Cupid approached his dear Mushushu with both blueberry candies in hand. He slipped them into Seunghyun's pocket with a wink. "I am sure you would rather take care of yourself." Hey, at least he didn't say the F word out loud.

One party boy deserved another and Seyoon simply knew Hyuk (@lgchyuk) and Haneul (@lgchxneul) would have fun together. In fact, he might want to join them. For partying, of course. Pineapple flavored candy for them, Seyoon's precious dance all night ship.

Now, what about Maylin (@lgcmaylin), dear Maylin. She hated most guys, didn't she? Seyoon handed her a peppermint candy because she spicy and looked around for her perfect match. Oh, maybe Eunwoo (@lgceunwoo)! The guy was hot and pretty quiet from what Seyoon remembered. If a man didn't talk much, he had less chance of saying the wrong thing, perfect!

Seyoon was pretty certain Max (@lgcxmax) was already dating a dude, but real life boyfriends didn't count for this Halloween game. After some contemplation, he decided to match Max with Kai (@lgckai) and came up with a whole dramatic story about two hardworking trainees, constantly stuck in evaluations together. Slowly developing feelings, stealing looks across the room and...Yes, it could be fun with their grape flavored candy.

Who was left?

Seyoon tossed Rowon (@rowonlgc)'s black cherry into the air and caught it back in his hand. Oh Rowon, this one was so very tricky.

So focused on his thoughts, he nearly ran into Soyoun (@lgcsoyoun). "Ah, I am sorry." He bowed his head like a good lil trainee but slipped the idol a light pink candy he believed to be cherry-blossom flavored. One of the more unique ones he'd gotten. The matching one he'd given to Ichika (@lgcichika) onee-sama earlier. Certain fanfics may have changed his favorite ships forever. Long live Ichiastrid.

His basket was nearly empty and the last couple to be matched with Hanie (@lgchanie) and Hyun (@lgchyun). They were both young, cute and could make an adorable puppy pair with their vanilla-flavored candy. In fact, if those two ever debut together, he might ship it.

at this point in her career, hyejoo has done a lot of song recordings. but even though she's done it a million times, and even though she's established a routine ( comfortable clothes, lots of water, lyric sheet pre-highlighted ), she never quite knows how it'll turn out. sometimes she's in and out, breezing through the recording and doing her lines well enough the first time around that it's just some minor adjustments here and there. but then other times she feels like she's in there for the entire day, and she can sing the same thing over and over again but it's just not right.

she thought today would be the latter, with the added element of singing in another language and having to make sure her pronunciation isn't horrendous. but maybe she got better at japanese since the last time, or maybe she just got lucky, but it went by with no huge problems.

hyejoo breathes a sigh of relief as she exits the recording booth, sitting down next to ichika as she feels a huge weight lifted off her shoulders. "it sounded okay, right?" she turns and looks at the other girl, trying to get a gauge of how it was to a third party who actually knows the language. "there was a lot of english in my parts, so i think it was easier this time."

DOG DAZE ✱ @lgcichika

"Pumpkin!" There is little use in not calling attention to himself running down a busy street, shouting a name. He felt the side effects already with each frantic pass of air through his esophagus. Scratchy, mildly sore. Even more so, he could feel it in his knees and the soles of his feet. Padded sandals meant to be worn inside the home were far from suitable substitutes for athletic shoes. ( Nor warm whatsoever. )

However, it had been the quickest, most convenient option as his dog slipped out the partially open door of his family home. It appeared as though the corgi developed a rebellious streak in his father's absence.

With his leash still trailing behind him, Pumpkin weaved through migrating legs, his nose raised in the air with purpose. His goal was uncertain to Seojin, but long ago decided by the excitable dog, himself. Soon enough, he broke into a sprint, tiny legs tapping against the concrete sidewalk until his owner lost sight of him. His final destination was a bustling cafe with empty outdoor seating—far too cold for any to occupy them. The influx of patrons in and out was enough to entice any sociable creature to investigate. Pumpkin jumped toward those who passed by in hopes of a slurry of affection.

The orange corgi finally set his sights on a petite woman leaving the cafe with a drink in her hand, following her around the corner to the alleyway steps.

"Ah, fucking hell, dog… You-…" Seojin reaches the corner of the street beside the tables, panting heavily against the brick wall. He pulls down his mask to properly catch his breath. Fortunately, the dog was in his line of sight. Unfortunately, his legs couldn’t push themselves any longer. "Hey! I’m so sorry, that’s my dog… he just... Can you help me grab him?" A pause lingers to examine what he could see of her face. He narrows his eyes. Ichika?

it started nowhere - his curiosity was poked when people from his classes at snu started talking about how the crystallis leader looked more serious, more reserved. minjun, at first thought people were just overreacting, like fans being overdramatic about things or thinking they knew everything about their idols' lives, including their mood swings.

but it didn't seem to be the case when he noticed that something looked off - it wasn't obvious unless you were a devoted fan and he considered himself to be one; but as much as he would like to write a fanmail, it'd be lost among the many letters the group received, so he waited - his worry growing as he paid more attention to her recent appearances.

hearing the news that the girls were going to the company that morning made minjun kind of nervous, he wanted to approach her without looking like a complete creep but still wanted to make sure there was someone out there worried about her.

Luckily for minjun the cafeteria was nearly empty that morning when he entered, a small box in his hands and a decided look on his face when he spotted ichika sitting by herself on a table, far from curious eyes.

he approached her cautiously, keeping his distance before he called her, politely, with a low voice, not to startle her, "good morning nuna", he briefly made eye contact before he could bow down, handing her the small box, along with a note. "these are mooncakes, I told my roommate I could cook them better than him, but that's not important. i hope they can make you a little happy", he offered her a smile, bowing again, awkwardly, "I...gotta go."

Trouble

By the time the first round of "Trust Me" ends, Soyoun can't help but sorrowfully walk back to where the rest of the Crystallis members are waiting. Losing wasn't in her vocabulary, but she plays up the walk of shame for the cameras, making sure to pose and crawl in the most tragic way she knows how. She even throws in a few sad faces for good measure. If they lose the match, they better at least win in screentime. She's torn between laughing and being embarrassed at how badly she did this time. Soyoun hardly fucks up this game, and honestly, she has no idea what happened for them to lose. She can only be the one to blame; she supposes. As the oldest, her role in the game was what mattered.

She gets settled next to Ichika. "That definitely wasn't one of my better days." She keeps her voice cheerful and her face bright despite her disappointment. There are cameras everywhere, and if anything, Crystallis are winners, not whiners. She laughs as she accepts a towel from one of the staff in thanks. She could do with getting all this excess flour off her. "You guys will avenge us, right?"

“hi!” nayoung says when she finally spots ichika from across the way, walking over to her in a giddy way, her shoulders going from side to side as she basically penguin waddled to the crystallis member. it was surreal seeing people other than the same trainees in future dreams, as they had been allowed for this excursion to participate in attending the food truck for some air, as the trainee would describe. it was refreshing, so refreshing and she was a bit sad that they’d separated the other trainees from the future dream trainees, but she understood - they didn’t really have the time for this the way they did before. it seemed to be a whole month stint, and the future dream girls definitely did not have the time to dedicate to this. “i’m so glad you could meet and hang out for even a short while. do tell, is anything exciting happening lately? i feel like i’m coming out from another realm or multiverse into this one... i’m being dramatic, don’t mind me,” nayoung sighs, trying not to look haggard. apparently there were photo ops there too and she wanted to look at least refreshed for it. 

“i heard some of the others talk about the potential goodies they could get here too... do you have any idea what you want to order first? i know i want the cake for sure.” anytime she could get her hands on dessert, she wasn’t a fool to say no. her eyes kept flicking to the other before keeping her eyes trained on where the food truck was as she saw a small crowd in that area. there was always a sense of being starstruck by the senior crystallis and fabula members regardless of how close or distant they were that was difficult to quell, but she tries her best not to do it in public.

“wasn’t that good show!” byungho cheered loudly as he watch the performance. every artist really did shine on that stage. since the switch to the actor path, byungho was spending his first family concert watching mostly. what a shame, that he probably won’t be dancing on that stage again. even though he used to dread it back then as a trainee, he was now missing it. funny how that works. byungho continue to watch the show, arms cross in front of him as his head bob along to the music. 

it wasn’t until he decided to roam around to kill some time that he ran into 1 of the members of crystallis. “ichika?” the male called out to the idol. though the two of them have never met before byungho can surly say that he did his research on his favorite groups. “hi,” he greeted with a smile. “you did really good on stage earlier! how was it to perform out there?”

If I’m being perfectly honest, I am still a bit uncomfortable with this sort of thing – the word ‘awkward’ seems a bit too silly, and frivolous, so I refuse to use it – and I do want to make it clear that while I do feel this way, it does not mean I do not intend to try and complete this assignment! Hardly! I have never been one to give up easily. 

Anyway, yes.

Nina. I know for a fact that I’ve never spoken to you in person, and if I am recalling correctly, I believe you came to the company whilst I was promoting in Japan with LGC Girls, but that does not mean I was completely unaware of who you are. Truthfully, despite you only being a trainee for such a short amount of time, I do not believe anyone is in doubt of your talent. Your vocals are very impressive, more so than mine where when I first arrived in Korea– but then again, if we all started the same, just anyone could be an idol, and clearly aside from your vocal talent the company saw something more in you. Just in case it is lost on you, this is me saying you are pretty and have star quality. Which is good. Boy groups might be historically more popular with fans, but I’m of the mind that Legacy has a talent for scouting girls of quality. I look forward to you proving this fact correct for others.

"Hello, everyone." The enthusiasm part was not difficult. "I am Maneki-Neko's Kim Seyoon!" Pretending he had already debuted and coming up with a group name was also straightforward. Seyoon chose a seemingly silly but in reality, an incredibly appropriate name for it carried his dreams of good fortune and prosperity.

"Today, I am joined by Crystallis's t-talented leader, Ichika!" He spoke slower than usual because the words on his tongue were foreign, and smiled brightly through his stutter. Seyoon met Ichika's eyes calmly. He was internally channeling somebody else - an idol who was cooler, more confident, had plenty of experience hosting, and was not secretly shaking in his boots because he didn't know the bloody language he was speaking.

Fake it until you make it. Fake it until you make it.

That was Kim Seyoon's life motto.

Also, the universe should just reward him for being here. It took some serious shamelessness guts to nonchalantly appear in front of the idol who had caught him reading and editing an R18 fanfiction written about her. What did Seyoon do back then? Ah yes, tried to run away at first but ended up dropping his phone so he had to go back and apologize properly.

Did she still remember him? Probably. That incident was certainly forever engraved in his mind. Was he going to bring it up again? Absolutely not. Kim Seyoon was ready to feign amnesia should the need arise and believe it or not, he was good at it due to having plenty of practice in the past. What? You hooked up with someone last week in this parking lot? Me? Oh no, definitely not. It must have been another blonde guy. My name is Jerry!

"Spring is my favorite season," he said, carefully enunciating each word. "To me, it is the most beautiful." Seyoon only knew how to threaten people and make love confessions in Japanese thanks to his love of anime. When it came to small talk, he was at a total loss. "What about you?" Hopefully, everything would work out if he stayed safe and talked about the weather, then continued the topic about sunny days until they could relate it to Hare Hare.

     their japanese comeback is decidedly different from their korean releases thus far, and if it wasn’t already clear when they got their song, it definitely was now that they started filming their music video. their concepts have all been elegant and pretty, with music videos full of sparkly dresses and pastel colors, but this is unlike the things they’ve done in the past.

     not that hyejoo is complaining, because she’s always preferred concepts like this. she likes crystallis’s songs, and she’s always felt lucky that she debuted with a vibe that suits her, but when she looks back at all the songs she practiced as a trainee, they were mostly girl crush-esque songs, so it’s nice to be able to do it again even if it’s only a little bit.

     “this is kind of funny, isn’t it?” she laughs as she points to the giant pink sparkly gun that she’s holding as a prop, then looks back at ichika. “i especially like the heart shaped rhinestones.” hyejoo had been a little confused when the director handed this to her and told her that she would be filming with it in her next scene, but she supposes that with the black leather outfits it kind of makes sense that they would have something like this.

     “i kind of like this spy concept, it’s a little different than what we’ve done, but i think our fans will still like it, right?” she says it because she does believe it, but also because she’s looking for confirmation, just so she knows that someone else thinks the same way.
