note(s): I am going to combine these requests as they are similar enough I hope that is alright! no real warnings for this one either, I just think these dudes are neat. Also I know they all have like 5 different names, so I just went with the ones I am more familiar with. Maybe(????) spoilers for 3, 4, and 5, so if you haven’t finished or played them, be warned (although, idk if anyone would read it if they haven’t played the respective game but idk warning for spoilers just in case) also idk how i feel about these hcs rn, but i did my best dhdjdj

What our dear protagonist lacks in overall extrovertedness, he makes up for in action. Surprise surprise, dates can either range from hanging out in the dorms and cooking a nice meal together. Or maybe going to the mall and heading to the arcade. Or basically wandering around until your legs hurt and your purchases range from new outfits to weird antiques from the antique shop.

However he really does treasure these little trinkets, because the memory of your laughter when you were given a certain item will forever be ingrained in his mind. It’s a comfort in the end too.

Date nights are focused on you and you only. He definitely sets a date where he knows you both are free so that there’s less likely of a chance for being interrupted. He definitely wouldn’t want his time with you to be wasted. Although seeing his small pout when it does happen is very cute.

You also gotta be keen on if he sees something he likes and wants. While Minato won’t exactly say it, his gaze lingers a bit longer than usual. But he ultimately won’t get it, because he wants to focus on you and also save up for when the group goes to Tartarus. So if you surprise him with whatever he had wanted, he’s so happy.

While he is slightly more reserved in comparison to Yu and Akira, Minato speaks through action. Whenever you two are walking together, he always has your hand in his, or keeping close by in some way. He likes to cling to you when it’s just you two, his head buried in the crook of your neck as you two nap tother, legs tangled up together. Or the small jokes he says loud enough for only you to hear, but they’re still so funny. Sometimes you’re asked if he’s really a good boyfriend, and you have to laugh off the doubt, because they don’t see the sides of him that you do.

My god. Yu would absolutely be the best at arranging dates and hangouts. I take no criticism. Like you guys could literally just be walking all around Inaba, or just sitting by the river bed and it could be one of the greatest times you’ve both had together. A romantic at heart, Yu would also be a bit cheesy in arranging dates.

He shows affection through communcating it. Whether it’s a new outfit or something, he’ll say that you look incredible or if you’ve studied for a hard exam, he’ll make sure you know how amazing you are for passing. Idk just anything that has you smiling from sweet compliments and other words of affirmation. A big sap, honestly you try and joke about it but he just earnestly says “Who wouldn’t be for you?” And you have to sit down and hide your face in your hands for a solid 5 minutes.

You also gotta be cool with Nanako. But then again she’s a cute kid and a sweetheart so idk why you wouldn’t be. Although he does get a little flustered if it’s you two watching her while Dojima-san is working late at the station and the old ladies coo over how you three look like a mini family yourselves. Which is kind of a common occurrence. And I feel like Yu would know pretty well if he sees a future with someone he’s with, and with you he does shhh

Date nights in Inaba are really fun and a good way to wind down, sometimes it’s wandering Junes and finding whatever the newly advertised, as seen on tv appliance is. Or other parts of the shopping district, where he can really let go and just have fun for himself. When not worrying about school work or the cases the Investigation Team is working on.

some spoilers here; but after Izanami is defeated and the year ends. When Yu has to leave Inaba it doesn’t mean that he won’t put his best efforts to keep up the relationship. If possible, video calls or just the occasional text too. And when he visits, while he does miss his friends, he’s especially antsy to see you too. And when you’re both together again, he refuses to leave your side.

Now, Akira can be described as this suave, casanova type character. But he’s also a giant dork and you know it, he knows it, the Phantom Thieves all know it, hell even Sojiro knows it. It doesn’t mean his attempts at flirting doesn’t get you blushing. And when he sees the flustered expression, it only motivates him to keep going. But turn the tables on him, and he’s putty in your hands. (And he looks very cute).

Because of the way you met, aka, at Shujin, where his reputation was basically over and done with before it even began, he has a lot of doubt and trust issues, what if someone dared you to speak to the “criminal” or something? While he won’t show these doubts out loud to his friends, it’s still something he thinks back on a lot. But when you defend him vehemently one day, he knows he was right to trust you.

A part of dating Akira, is eventually finding out who he is. Maybe trips to Mementos cause him to be late to dates or not even show up at all. You end up stood up more often then not once things begin to get really serious. From small time school teachers to the literal Yakuza (and eventually a candidate for Prime Minister, and a god), you don’t know where he is. And that becomes really stressful because then the doubt™️ sets in.

To make this less angsty and more funny, imagine you know from figuring it out. He’s suspiciously watching the news on the PT, and no offense to Ryuji, he’s not the most quiet. So he’s so nervous trying to tell you when you’re just “yeah I know, sorry for not telling you, I wasn’t sure if you wanted me to know.” and he’s just the surprised pikachu face.

As for date nights, the city is your oyster. I’d say the world but mans still currently has a criminal record so probably not yet. But he’s gonna take you wherever you want. Whether it’s a themed cafe, or just the streets of Shinjuku, as you take in all the sights from the bright places, he’s willing to do whatever for you. That includes facing off kids at the arcade for a stuffed plush you saw and admitted it was cute. He is a man on a mission. And you cannot stop him. So you both end up back at Leblanc at the end of the night carrying your plushies and eating some curry that Sojiro left warming for you. That even includes the Big Bang Burger challenge he will do it for you , even though you probably do laugh at his pain after but you still coo and praise his efforts.

After he goes back home, record clean and world hopefully peaceful. Virtual dates become a thing, either just sitting and talking while having dinner or something is nice. He still loves to say those cheesy pickup lines that had you hiding your flustered expression as you walked through the streets of Shibuya on call. You only hung up on him once but he quickly called back and was very pouty about it. You were forgiven though with the promise of giving many kisses when he visits.

THE WAY I SCREAMED WHEN THE SCENE CAME ON

LIKE WE COULD ARGUE ALL DAY BUT I WILL STAY MY GROUND THAT THAT WAS THE BEST WAY THAT THEY COULD SUBTLY SHOW US THAT RANGA IS CANON.

I will gadly explain even tho no one asked.

Starting off we LOVE her. Best character fight me I will might for her.

Off the bat Nanako is clearly an overthinker and cares deeply about Langa, she wants the best for him 10/10 and that is shown everytime she's on screen!

Their dialogue on this episode on the scene:

"Hey, Mom..."

"What is it?"

"This is tasty"

"You think so? It went ratger well today, how well it's cooked...-"

"Hey, Mom..."

"What is it?"

"Will it be sunny tommorow?

("This is... Langa is trying to consult me for something? Come to think of it, he hasn't been that cheerful lately! Oh, there it is! My son talking about his troubles! What should I do Oliver?!")

"Hey, Mom..."

"Yes? (Calm down! Don't make a big deal out of it! Adolecent boys are timid!")

"I kinda screwed up. And I'm being avoided"

"I had something similar happen to me."

"Really?"

"You just keep missing each other. But neither of you are in the wrong."

"No. It was my fault for breaking outr promise."

"I think it's best if you were honest with your feelings."

" 'Honest' ..."

"You like that person, right?"

"Huh? Well... yeah."

"Why don't you honestly relay your emotions?"

"No way. That's too embarrassing."

"You have to act on it...if you really care about her!"

" 'Her' ?"

I will stand on pin and needles because not only is this the perfect way to actually lay out Langas type of feelings towards reki aswell as probably a coming out scene thats not really a coming out! OH AND LETS NOT FORGET HOW THIS WILL AFFECT LANGAS SKATING IN THE NEXT FEW EPISODES.

First off laying out Langas feelings towards Reki aswell as what those feelings are

that "huh... well..." that comes before the "yeah" is so dam important im rolling on the ground.

Because, yes, he hesistated and he thought, HE HESITATED AND HE THOUGHT ABT IT

Its the whole "Well do I like him? Well dam I guess I do" ordeal and its *cheffs kiss* beautifull.

And if anyones curious yes this is 1000000000000000% romantically.

Taking in context what Nanami said in before that with the whole "I had something similar happen to me" "You just keep missing each other but neither of you are in the wrong"

She's clearly talking about her and Oliver's past here. Something similar happened to her and Oliver, a fight or missundertanding maybe and they parted ways temporalily, but then they came back to each other.

Thats why this isn't in any way platonic. And she knows it and it's talking to him thinking that he is talking about a crush or something like that.

Langa knows that she's talking about it like that and he's thinking about it like that.

And my friends that's why this scene happens

YALL CAN SEE THAT ITS NOT THE ASPECT OF "its someones you like" THATS HE'S CONFUSED ABOUT, BUT THE FAACT THAT SHE SAID 'her'

AND ITS HILARIOUS BECAUSE LANGA HAD IT IN HIS MIND THAT SHE KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABT bcz she probably knows Reki and all... and the baby is SO confused hahahhaha

And then before the scene ends Nanami has a "Eh???!! (ohhhh)" moment and its gorgeous because Langa also has a "eeh???" and t the end.

She realised he wasn't talking abt a girl and he realised that she didn't already know, because to Langa it was like "She's my mom so like obviously she must know" kind of thing.

Ngl I could hear the cogs clicking toguether in her head plz hahajkzj

Now not only is this the perfect coming out, but also laying out what Langa feels towards Reki.

His sexuality by this scene is probably something he never thought he needed to explain, and it fits so well with his character I think i could cry to be honest.

also because of this

after the scene Langa is looking for reki and it looks like he needs to tell him something AND HONESTLY ITS BEATHTAKING.

The way the next episode could possibly be something special is ahhhhh you know???!

These days, it was odd if Yu didn’t return to his home with Yosuke in tow, or a promise to Nanako they would go walk to pick him up once his shift at Junes is over.

They would always show up a few minutes before his shift was over so Nanako could have some extra time in her personal heaven, but lately she’s taken to searching for Yosuke instantly and begging him to let her help him with his work. If it was just stocking he usually would, lifting up Nanako so she could place cans on the top shelves. He’d even give Nanako his name tag to wear and let her carry around the price scanner when he could. Yu would always watch the scene from a bit of the distance, tossing a few snacks in a basket with a soft look on his face as he heard Nanako giggle as Yosuke told her some stupid joke. Knowing the two most important people in his life get along so well really tugged at Yu’s heart strings, leaving him to restrain himself from surging forward and kissing his partner sweetly. They could do that in private, after all. And boy did they.

To Nanako’s dismay, today wasn’t one of those late Junes nights. Yu and Yosuke made it back to the Dojima’s nearly an hour after their classes let out, both carrying plastic bags full of ingredients to make tonight’s dinner, blueberry pancakes. It was Nanako’s turn to pick, and this is what she craved most, and neither boy was willing to deny her of that.

Yu called out to Nanako once they swung open the front door, and she came bounding to them, throwing her small body into Yu’s arms and overwhelming him with questions about his day, what’s in the bags and comments about her own. It only takes her a moment to turn her attention towards Yosuke, squealing with excitement as she latched onto his leg and giving him the same speed round of questions as she did Yu.

Yosuke was doing his best to keep up, eyebrows furrowed as he wiped his sweaty palms on his pants anxiously. Yu slipped away after taking possession of the bags Yosuke had put down, unpacking them in the kitchen and getting prepared for whenever the group decided they wanted to chow down. He was smiling to himself, listening to the two others like his favorite song had just come on the radio.

After a few more minutes, Yosuke makes his way into the kitchen with Nanako sat on his hip. It was one of her favorite things about Yosuke, she would claim, that he would always pick her up when he saw her. Yu knows she misses the days when her dad would carry her around on spring walks or through a store, so he appreciates his best friend giving her that.

“Big bro can we start making dinner?” Nanako asks with big eyes, and Yu lets out an airy laugh.

“It’s a bit early, don’t you think Nanako?” He responds, and she is quick to pout as she continued to cling onto Yosuke.

“Maybe...but I’m hungry.” She whines, causing Yu to laugh again. “Plus, the sooner we eat dinner, the sooner we can have desert!”

Yu shoots Yosuke a disappointed looks, and he swallows hard.

“Listen, I didn’t mean to tell her partner! She was asking me all sorts of stuff and snuck in the question. And she doesn’t know what we bought, so there’s still a bit of surprise left!” He fumbles over his words, voice cracking in a way that made Nanako giggle and Yu grin.

Yu turns towards them, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed and humming as he pretending to think.

“Nanako, could you wash the blueberries? And Yosuke, get the bowl down please?” He says, and Nanako is quick to wrangle her way out of Yosuke’s arms. Yu passes her the box of blueberries and she begins her task.

Yosuke doesn’t know why Yu asked him to get the bowl, the bastard knew Yosuke was too short to reach that high. Maybe it was payback for being outsmarted by a 1st grader. His suspicions were quickly confirmed when he heard his partner hold back a laugh. Yosuke turned his head to shoot a glare this way, but it didn’t last long seeing as Yu was closer than he thought, moving to press himself against Yosuke’s back and getting the bowl down himself. The shorter boy felt the tips of his ears heat up, and the other only smirked before heading back to Nanako.

The rest of the night went smoothly. Nanako and Yu made dinner while Yosuke was given small tasks to help out with in an attempt to avoid making a mess. They learned their lesson last time they had asked Yosuke to mix flour into something.

The pancakes were delicious and together the three cleaned up before settling down on the couch to watch the game show Nanako liked. She was snuggly sat between the pair, and Yu had his arm thrown across the back of the couch so he could absentmindedly play with Yosuke’s hair. Luckily for Yosuke, he was never very good at guessing the answers, so the distraction his partner created wasn’t something that would destroy his cool points with Nanako.

After a couple of episodes, Yu went to get the cookie ice cream sandwiches from the freeze. There were Nanako’s favorite and she let out a high pitched noise that made Yosuke lose hearing in one ear for a moment when she saw them.

Yosuke and Nanako teamed up on Yu until he let them finish the box. How could he say no when both of them when given him that cute and pleading look? And really, what could one more hurt?

Both Nanako and Yosuke where pleased with themselves as Yu went to retrieve the rest of the box, even though it’s painfully obvious that Yu would just about do anything for the two. After finishing it off, Yu helped Nanako with homework while Yosuke attempted to catch up on some of his own, ending up with more doodles of whatever popped into his mind than answers.

After about an hour and a half, Nanako began to run out of steam. Yu suggested that they take a break, and he couldn’t tell if she or Yosuke was more relieved. Nanako was quick to decide they should spend it playing, pacing around the room with a contemplative hum as she pondered on what the three could do.

She landed on hide and seek, with no objections. Nanako called being it first and went to her room too count, but not before making it clear that it they could only hide on the first floor. The two boys were found quickly, and moved onto the next round, and then the next.

The Dojima home was filled with laughing and fun when the owner of it came home. He called out for his daughter as he unlocked the door, and she ran into his arms to hug him tightly.

“What have you been up too, Nanako?” Dojima asked softly, as he gave her a squeeze before pulling away.

“Big bros and I made dinner, and then we watched my show and did homework!” She replied, Yosuke freezing up in the living room as he heard what she said. Yu melted into a sappy smile, reaching out to take hold of his partner’s hand.

“Big...bros?” Dojima questioned, moving with Nanako away from the front door and making noise of realization as he came across the two teen boys sitting in his living room.

“Sorry I just liked the way it sounds…” Nanako mumbled, and Yosuke smiled at her shyly. “Anyways!” She continued, snapping back into her usual excited self. “Big bros and I were playing hide and seek. Will you play with us, Daddy? Plllleeeeaaaseeee!” She was giving her father the same look she used on Yu earlier that evening, and Dojima, unshockingly, was also unable to say no when faced with it.

“Yay!” Nanako cried out, latching onto her father’s legs for a quick hug before demanding him to go out to 100 in his room. With a smile he only reserved for his daughter, he nodded and made his way upstairs.

“Make sure you hide extra good! Daddy’s an amazing detective!” Nanako warned with a giggle before diving under the kotatsu.

Silently, Yu pulled Yosuke up from the couch and dragged him in the kitchen before ducking down into the cupboard under the sink. It was a tight squeeze, but Yu had hidden down there a few round around so everything was already pushed aside. He made a hand gesture for Yosuke to get down there, who only mouthed ‘are you serious?’

The look on Yu’s face must have said it all, because Yosuke began to tactfully squeeze himself next to Yu.

It was uncomfortable, that was for sure, but neither boy minded. The dark and quiet helped Yosuke relax for a moment, overwhelmed with emotion after Nanako referred to him as big bro as well. Yu had a feeling it threw his best friend off, so he slid his hand into Yosuke’s and began to brush his thumbs over the other’s knuckles soothingly.

Yu’s boyfriend let out a delightful hum in response, and they could hear Dojima’s heavy footsteps as he called out that he was starting to seek. Both teens where certain that they would be crammed under the sink for awhile, knowing that the older man never checked in the kitchen, no matter how many times someone hid in there.

The silver haired boy isn’t sure how much time had passed before Yosuke hissed ‘psst!’ from next to him. He slowly turned his head towards the other, trying not too knock theirs together. Their noses bumped softly, and Yu felt at ease with the discovered closeness.

Then Yosuke was pressing their lips together sweetly, and Yu’s lucky he was sitting down otherwise his knees would have given out. No matter how many times their lips met, Yu was always rendered absolutely useless.

The two teens pulled apart when they heard Nanako squeal as her father uncovered her hiding spot, and Yu leaned in for another swift kiss before preparing for Nanako to swing open the cupboard.

Neither Yu nor Yosuke have ever felt more at home than in this moment.
