Soft and sweet prompt! "I just want to say thank you for protecting me," Flynn x Reggie
Flynn and Julie had been tracking these loud, messy boys through their territory for quite some time now. Honestly, with the way they didn't know how to be quiet, it was a damn miracle they were alive at all. Just in the last hour, one of them had tripped, the other one had burst into song, and then they'd gotten split up when - unsurprisingly to Julie and Flynn but apparently very surprisingly to the boys - the Creatures were attracted to their noise.
With an eye-roll, Julie and Flynn split up, Julie going with the main group, Flynn with the idiot in the leather jacket who ran the other way. He was resourceful, she would give him that, but he didn't know these streets like she did, and he ended up in a dead end. She waited until she was very, very sure he wasn't going to find a way to rescue himself before dropping down from the rooftops, spearing the Creature through its creepy, creepy eye, right into its brain.
And then the idiot boy looked up and Flynn had a moment of 'oh no he's hot'. Big green eyes shining with tears staring at her with awe, pale but flushed cheeks with a smattering of freckles, and the cutest upturned nose... She sighed, jerking her head in a gesture to follow her. She's get him back to his group, get back to Julie, and discuss what they were going to do with these idiots.
She's seen the way Julie had been eyeing up Mr Muscles, okay. Besides, Willie could use some extra hand on the rooftop garden.
"Wait!" Freckles cried as she left the alley. She turned around, shushing him angrily. He stopped, clasping a hand over his mouth. They waited for a moment, both looking around frantically, but nothing came bursting forward. They were safe for now. "I just wanted to say thank you for protecting me," he whispered.
"They're attracted to loud noises," she whispered. "How are you idiots even alive after four years?"
The boy blinked, staring off into space like he was solving a difficult math equation in his head. Or, Flynn suspected, going over every time he and his friends had been loud idiots and had gotten in trouble for it. "There's been a lot of screaming and running, honestly," he whispered after a good long while. Then he blinked. "Wait, my friends!" Flynn shushed him again, and he returned to a whisper. "Have you seen my friends? Did you see where they went?"
She nodded. "I'll take you to them, my friend Julie was following them," she said quietly. "Come on."
"REGGIE!" a cry in the distance. The boy perked up, before looking embarrassed and horrified.
“I’m Reggie, by the way,” he said, just as the shout continued ‘REGGIE WHERE ARE YOU’.
Flynn groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Flynn. Now come on," she said, grabbing his hand to tug him along. He looked down, pleased and shocked, his cute blush getting even redder. God help her. "Before they attract every Creature from here to the ocean."
