Masterlist
Boys under the cut! Immediate Reader!
***
It was bad. You don’t know how you all let it get so bad.
Monsters surrounded the area left and right. The more you struck down, three times that amount came to replace them.
You were tired.
You thought you saw some of the boys go down and you didn’t think your numbers could hold the line as it was.
You were bleeding.
Was it possible to call for back up? Were you all on your own for this battle? Is this where the heroes meet their end? Is this where you meet your end? You never did say your final goodbyes. There was so much you wanted to do.
You were giving up.
Is there anyway for you to come back from this? An arrow hits your leg and you vaguely feel more of them impale themselves in your back.
You were falling.
Your whole body was sore. Could really accept this? No. Were going to try and fight it? Could you? No.
You were face down in the dirt and incapable of getting up again.
Vaguely, you hear some yelling on the battle field and the monsters seem to scatter before whatever has joined the field. But you don’t want to hold your breath. It’s hard to breath without eating the dirt anyway.
A white flash passes your vision, quickly followed by a green and blue blur. You’re turned over and the light momentarily hurts your eyes. When they finally clear and you look ahead, the face is almost nye-recognizable. Your heart plummets to your stomach. The white hair, the red and blue war paint, the double helix sword, the soulless eyes... Link’s face.
You try to push yourself away but you can’t get very far.
You stare at him incredulously. Your breath leaves you in an instant and you can only say one thing. “The Fierce Deity.”
Wind
Your heart drops to your stomach and your blood turns to ice. “Wind...What did you do?”
The boy in question looks at you in question and his face turns a bit soft. “I panicked.”
His voice is wrong. It’s too deep. It vibrates. It sounds like there multiple people at once. His eyes close and he winces. He takes a deep breath then, as if he had been holding back a scream .”...It’s so loud. He’s so loud.”
Another monster horn sounds and Wind’s face snaps back into stoic determination. All previous semblance of the little boy gone as he stands once more with the sword in his hand.
He rushes the group of monsters.
You scream and try to stand again but your injuries make it difficult to find decent purchase on the ground. Wind uses a spin attack as he dives into the middle of the hoard.
Someone comes to grab a hold of you then. You scream again and try to fight them off.
“It’s me!” Warrior cries. “We need to get you checked out.”
You stop fighting instantly but you snap your eyes back to Wind. He’s eliminated nearly the entire hoard by himself. Warrior looks to where you’ve glued your eyes too.
“I couldn’t get to him in time.” He admits quietly. “He put on the mask before I could tell him to drop it.”
“You know-?” You move to question the man but you begin to feel dizzy and you lose your balance.
Warrior curses next to you as he takes your full weight against him. Wind appears in your vision suddenly and you can feel yourself begin to cry. The world goes hazy and you don’t know how you start moving.
Wind hovers over the two of you until Warrior manages to place you with some of the other wounded.
“Will they be ok?” Wind asks in a voice that’s not his.
Warrior flinches and sigh. “Once we get the arrows out of them, I think they’ll pull through just fine. That’s what the armor’s for.”
Wind winces again. “...He’s yelling at me.”
“He has a job to do.” Warrior says quietly, sympathizing with the younger. It’s a scene all too familiar to him. “He won’t stop until he finishes it.”
Wind whines and turns again. The sounds of battle call him and the body has him running toward another batch of monsters. Wind can’t control it. He has no clue how Mask managed to stay himself despite the chaos that it raging in his head.
“Wind..” You call before he can run off completely. “Don’t Wind. Take it off. You can take the mask off...”
Wind doesn’t pause in this chase. He keeps going even though there are tears going down his face.
You start to fade in and out of consciousness and you no longer know who’s around you. You can vaguely feel your injuries being treated and you can hear people talking around you.
Wind comes back a few more times- each just as concerned for your well being and health- speaking in that voice that doesn’t belong to him. You reach out to him each time in the direction you think he’s in. Someone grabs your hand.
You wake up- tired and sore and with Wind curled up by your side.
It’s quiet.
You sit up and look around. They’ve set up camp and the injured are resting and being tended to. You look back down to Wind as he sleeps. There’s red and blue war paint on his face still but you can see Time hold and meditating over the mask that had inadvertently saved you all
You slowly put yourself back down to rest. No one saw you sit up anyway. Everyone is way too tired.
You bring Wind closer into your arms and sleep.
Hyrule
“I don’t know what I’m doing.” He blurts after the words leave your mouth.
His white hair falls over his eyes and it’s the first time you’ve genuinely seen Hyrule afraid.
“Hey... Hey... It’s ok.” You reach out but you realize you have limited movement in your arm. It’s drops like dead weight.
Hyrule takes a deep breath and ruffles his hair violently. “Ok... ok... I can do this.”
“You can.” You say softly. “I believe in you.”
Hyrule shakes his head and goes to pick you up. “Let’s get you taken care of.”
You hiss and arch your back at the unwanted pressure. You hang off of Hyrule and hold him tightly. The pressure lessens the longer you’re in his arms. You don’t want to open your eyes and look, especially when you can feel yourself getting dizzier by the moment.
You pull yourself closer to him to relieve the last of the pressure and sigh. You can feel yourself begin to get tired. You don’t want to fall asleep. You need to stay awake. You’re still injured.
You stop moving.
Something hits the ground before you’re placed gently in the grass. You manage to look over and notice that there’s three bloodied arrows by your side.
Somehow Hyrule had managed to pull them out as he traveled with you in his arms and he healed you at the same time. You look up to him and his hands are still glowing. Your eyes begin to get heavier and you get the distinct impression that he’s the one that’s putting you to sleep.
You begin to panic.
“No.” You begin to plead. “Don’t. Hyrule... Link... Please. I don’t want to.”
“I know.” He replies and his voice no longer wounds like him. “Your care for him extends beyond. You will rest. He will survive. Your friends will be safe.”
“You...” Your stare hardens but you can’t keep it. Your vision goes black before you can get your full sentence out.
You wake up with someone on top of you.
It’s Legend with Wind curled up by your other side. You slowly come into consciousness and begin to look around. Hyrule is still tending to the fallen boys as he wears the mask.
Your breath catches.
The energy he’s giving out is enough to make all the hairs at the back of your neck stand up as beads of sweat begin to bead up on your forehead.
He looks your way.
Your eyes widen. You blink and he’s in front of you.
“Be still.” The Fierce Deity speaks. “You are all safe.”
“Give him back.” You whisper and reach. Your arm follows your commands this time and you cup his cheek. “It’s time to rest for you, Sweetheart. You’ve done your part. You did good.”
His face twists and a tear leaks out. Hyrule turns into your touch and sighs. There’s a pause where you don’t think he’ll do as you ask and you rub your thumb against his cheek. You’re about to plead some more to the deity, wanting to give Hyrule a break before he extends his magic too far. The mask falls without issue and Hyrule collapses onto your lap.
Legend
“Hey.” He nods toward you.
You blink and gulp. Your heart continues to beat irradicably as you look at him.
Legend seems to sigh and hiss when he looks at your back. “Let’s get you out of here. You’re benched.”
“What?” You squeak. He leans over you and effortlessly picks you up. You scramble to find purchase on his shoulders as he begins running to a safer place, away from the on going battle.
“Legend...” You breath as he sets you down. “The mask... Your face...”
“Not the worse thing to happen to me.” He smirks. “Wait here. I’ll take care of it.”
Your heart drops again and you reach out to him. “Legend-! Legend wait! Link-!”
He runs off before you can grab him, taking the sword and eliminating any enemy that stands in his path.
You scramble to stand up after him but you injuries have left you weak. With the added shock of the deity on the battle field as well as your waning adrenaline, you start to shake and you fall back onto the forest floor.
You haven’t gone through as much as you have to simply sit down and stay on the side lies however. You try to push through it.
You manage to get to your feet once more but you’re light headed and you can feel yourself swaying. You might not have a clue to where your weapon is, nor do you know the full damage the arrows have left on your back, but you feel the need to keep going. You have to keep fighting. you have to protect the boys. You have to defeat the evil. Or else.
You vision goes black before you can even think to catch yourself.
Something is shaking you.
You blink your eyes open and slowing turn your head from side to side. It’s night time. There’s a fire to your right and there’s someone on top of you to your left. You try to focus on them instead and sit up. They don’t let you and instead push you back down.
“Don’t.” He says. “I just needed to see you awake. I couldn’t... I didn’t even patch you up. Someone else did.”
Your eyebrows furrow. “Legend...”
“I’m here.” He grabs your hand. His hair is white still and there’s still some war paint on him but his eyes.... those soft periwinkle eyes. You’d think they were purple in the right light. What a lovely color. It sends relief into your system and you begin to feel tears pool in your eyes.
“Hey there Hero.” You say softly. “Did you save the day again?”
“I did.” His hand moves to cup your cheek. “You were worse off than I originally thought. I’m sorry. I left you.”
You reach up and brush his bangs out of his face. Somehow- there’s still pink tinted into it. The thought seems so inconsequential but it brings a small giggle to your lips.
“What?” Legend frowns. “What’s so funny?
“You’re still pink.” You flick the lock of hair in question. “I like it. I’m glad it stayed.”
Legend deflates somewhat and hang in head in shame. “After everything, that’s that you’re focusing on? Not the rest of me? Not yourself? You lost a lot of blood.”
“It’s probably why it’s so funny.” You laugh a little harder. “Never change, Link.”
His look softens. “For you? I think I can mange that.”
Warrior
He says nothing as he fights of the monsters that start to surround you in your weakened state.
You try to stand as you reach for one of your one handed weapons but you only end up collapsing onto your knee. Warrior, as the deity, snaps to you and moves to take your weapon away. “Done.”
“Warrior.” You plead and try to push yourself up. “Don’t do this. You know.... You know what it does to you.”
He says nothing, only taking a deep breath. He hoists you up single handedly, making sure to rest your good side against him so that he doesn’t agitate your injuries any further.
He starts to move through the forest but it seems that the monsters begin to single him out.
You look up at him as much as your tired and sore body would allow. Warrior looks pissed- even more so than the typical war paint accentuates.
With one hand, he raises the double helix sword and slashes at the approaching monsters. They begin to fall like flies.
It garners the attention of the other monsters in the area and the begin to swarm the two of you.
It’s unfortunate that you seem to be caught the middle of it. There’s no where for you to go. Warrior as the Fierce Deity refuses to let you go and the monsters have realized that the strongest player has entered the field.
Warrior seems to come to the conclusion that he can’t hold onto you forever and that you’re still rapidly losing blood.
He’s forced to put you down and one beast gets a lucky shot, shooting you a forth time.
Warrior then makes a sound you hadn’t known possible. It is neither human nor beastly and you begin to shake.
Perhaps it is the blood loss as well but you’re breath becomes labored it’s hard to focus on anything other than the Soldier turned War God as he vicarates any all threats on the field. His attention is now solely on ridding the plane of your enemies.
You can take out the forth arrow easily enough. The pain is no longer registering to your body and your back is warm and wet. Somewhere in the back of your mind, there’s a small voice that tells you that you shouldn’t have done that. But your black out before you can really find it in your to do something about it.
You wake up to someone violently shaking you and calling your name. “WAKE UP! YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP!”
You gulp down a breath and try to sit up. It’s not long before they try to force your back down but you’re ready to get up and fight again. “I’m alive. What year is it?”
“We can’t answer that.” You vaguely understand that Wind is speaking. “But it’s Warrior. He won’t listen to us.”
You start trying to get up again. “Where?” You croak out. “Where is he?”
A twig snaps behind you. A warning. It was deliberate. Wind shifts next to you and you blink your bleary eyes just as Legend moves to cover you with his own body. Empty potion bottle lay by your feet.
Warrior moves and crouches next to you. Legend refuses to move and starts the God in the face determinedly. Wind starts to shake slightly.
Warrior tilts his head and moves your hair out of your face.
You gasp. “Oh honey, what did you do?”
Warrior sighs and shakes his head but says nothing still. You reach your hand out and he’s quick to intercept it. You can roll over at least and you push yourself up to try and meet him in the eye. “Warrior.... Link.... You knew.”
“I did.” He says in a voice that does not belong to him.
“Let him go.” You whisper. “We’re going to be ok.”
Warrior doesn’t move. He only looks at you passively.
Desperate, your hands come up to cradle his cheeks and he lets you. Slowly, you try to get the mask off. It’s a gross feeling. It’s sticky and a part of your mind wonders if it’s painful.
Warrior’s face meets you on the other side and he starts swaying somewhat. “...Did.... did we win?”
“You idiot.” You keep your voice low. ”You saved us. Thank you.”
Legend scoff behind you and you toss the mask to him. You don’t even want to think about how Warrior got a hold of it to begin with. You don’t know where the others are. You don’t know the extent of the damage but you’re content to hold Warrior instead as he collapses against you.
“We’re going to be ok.” You say. “I promise.”
Sky
The blade soars beyond you, blasting away any enemy that may have been coming to hurt you more than before.
Sky takes a breath and slowly picks you up. “Come Beloved. Let’s get you taken care of.”
His voice is low and it vibrates through your body as he talks. The clouds above thunder gently with his tone and he takes off to place you near other injured ones.
Your breath leaves you and you’re placed onto a patch of soft grass and fallen leaves.
“I will return.” He says quietly, tucking a bit of your hair behind your head.
All you can do is nod. He takes off faster than you would have ever seen from the man otherwise and you wait.
Hyrule comes into the clearing and he sits by you. “I have something for you.”
“Oh?” You tilts your head, trying to ignore the pain and blood on your back.
Hyrule nods and takes out what looks to be like dust. He blows it on your face and the world goes black.
When you wake, there is a strong yet gentle touch by your neck and shoulders, slowly working out the stress and knots that would have been collected there with time. It’s nice. Relaxing.
You freeze. Who’s touching you?
Slowly, you turn your head and look up. Sky looks down on you, still wearing the mask and smiles a little. “Apologies. You looked troubled even in your sleep.”
“Ah.” You blush. “Well...”
“I wish you no pain or ill will.” He says.
“I know Sky. Thank you. You saved me.” You try to sit up.
“No, no, Beloved.” He pushes you back down. “Rest. It is not good for you to move too much in your injured state.”
The words touch you and your compelled to do what he wants.
”But...” You blurt. “The mask...”
His face drops. “I don’t know if now is a good time-”
“Link...” You reach up. He grabs your hand and holds it to his cheek.
“No, my sweet.” He says.
“Is the threat still around?”
“Well-”
“Is there no other way?”
“I don’t think.”
“Is it stuck?”
“This power...” He says and you wait this time. “Is... familiar.”
You freeze once more. “Sky?... Link? Is it bad?”
The being looks at you and he takes the mask off no more questions asked. “I have a story for you. If you’re willing to listen. And if you’re willing to keep an open mind about it.”
Who are you to say no?
Four
He tilts his head at you.
You’re heart jumps into your throat, instantly distracting you from the pain in your back.
“Smithy?” You reach out hesitantly.
He smiles and takes your hand. He kisses your knuckles tenderly before he moves to pick you up.
He’s gentle with you and avoids the worst spots on your back. He’s quick to move through the forest and place you down in a safe spot.
“Stay here, Darling.” He brushes your hair aside and tucks it behind your ear. With a small bow, he stands and moves to be behind you. “Before I go...”
He doesn’t expand on that before you feel something numb your pain and something tug on your clothes. He drops an arrow, and then another and then another and you can feel yourself begin to heal.
You breathe in relief and sag once the tension leaves you. You are suddenly very tired.
Four comes back into your vision, white hair and war paint bright against his dulled clothing. He smirks as if he’s proud of himself before he takes off running faster than you’ve ever seen.
“Wait-” You croak and drop your hand. The tiredness that had befallen you earlier strengthens and you can no longer lift your arm. You leans back against a tree and fight to keep your eyes open.
“Four..” You say. “Smithy... Link, don’t do it...”
No one replies to you since no one can hear you. You can hear the sounds of battle continue around you, each one more vicious than the last. Monsters begin to sound bigger and fiercer than before and with your lowering numbers you don't’ know if there’s anyway for you guys to come out of this. Even if you did enlist of the Fierce Deity’s help.
You want to cry.
The weight of eyelids is too much for you to keep above the needed threshold and they fall. You try to stay conscious and you try to be aware still of what’s happening. Time slips through your finger’s anyway. You don’t know how long it’s been or how long the battle continues to last for.
“Right where I left you.” You hear Four say.
You want to wake up completely. You want to see him. Not the deity. Him.
No one else passes through your barely conscious state. You don’t know where they are. You don’t know if they’re ok. Do they know that you’re ok? Are you ok?
“Link..” You manage to say. You doubt it’s very loud.
“Oh thank the three, they’re alive.” You hear Warrior say.
Your eyebrows furrow. That’s not the Link you were asking for. Where’s your Link?
“Link?” You try again, a bit stronger. Your eyes still fight you and you can’t open them.
“Oh my god, who do they want?” Legend huffs. “There’s only so many of us.”
“Is it a nightmare?” Hyrule pipes up. “It could be any of us.”
“The mask...” You whisper. “Don’t wear the mask...”
“It’s Four.” They all say in unison.
“I’m here.” the boy in question appears by your side and finally you can open your eyes.
He looks the same. No marks. No scars. Just Link.
“Good.” You pat his cheek and smile. “Right as you should be.”
Time
Your heart leaps into your throat when he makes eye contact despite not having irises. You try to move backwards but the arrow snags on something and digs deeper into your back.
A scream rips out of you before you can even think about the powerful being in front of you.
Instantly you’re scooped up and the world begins to blur around you. Its too fast. The world seems to be spinning. Your lunch begins to crawl up your throat before it all comes to a disorienting halt.
You swallow it back down successfully.
He lays you down onto the forest floor gently and brushes aside any foliage that would agitate your injuries further. He says nothing, with is awkward enough on its own.
You’re too freaked out to even try to fight him. You can feel the energy of his power radiating off of him and it’s not comforting. You begin to shake.
Somewhere in the distance one of the boys yells in distress and he takes off before you can even register who screamed. Wild runs up to you from the left and Hyrule appears from your right.
They both look horrible.
“This is going to have to be fast.” Hyrule says.
“I know.” Wild replies. He takes out a creams and suddenly your back feels very cold. He applies it and the pain goes away almost instantly.
You’re still reeling from being up and personal with  the Fierce Deity that you forget how to be a person and interact with other people. It’s only when both boys kneel next to you that you realize you should probably acknowledge them. “Guys, what’s going on-”
Something is torn from your back. The sensation is strange. You expected pain.
Wild moves to your other side and applies more of the cream. Numbly, you realize that it’s an anesthetic. You need to ask him where he got that.
Another is pulled out.
Despite there being a lack of pain it’s still nauseating. There’s too much variety in the magic at play here. Somewhere in this, you can feel yourself nodding off.
You wake up multiple times to different faces. Once, you saw Hyrule asleep next to you, a mild line of red on the side of his head. Another was Wind, curled up to your side.
The final time was the Fierce Deity in front of you again. It’s startles you to full consciousness. It’s night time. All the other boys are asleep.... or simple unconscious. You banish the thought before it can manifest into something else.
Time notices that you wake up and he pulls the mask off of his face. It’s weird to see. His markings stay the same on the one side of his face and his only one of his eyes change back to the cool blue your remember. His hair seems to fade into his blond in the back first as the white hair in the front falls, revealing more blond.
He looks tired.
You grin tightly. “Hey there Hero.”
He coughs. “...Hi.”
“You did good today.” You say and cup his jaw. “You saved us.”
He says nothing.
“Thank you.” You kiss two of your fingers and place them on his lips. He takes your hand and says something quietly and you try to make out the words but you’re not fast enough. Your world goes black once more.
Twilight
A ferocious growl thunders all around you.
Your heart starts beating faster from the adrenaline spike along. You somehow find it in yourself to sit up and you try to push yourself out of the way.
The wolf pelt has rigid bone like structures that comes over Twilights face like a mask but the lower jaw is missing- exposing his hylian skin beneath. He has fangs that peak from his lips and are revealed as he stands over with with a snarl.
It’s positively inhumane.
Another monster comes close, too close and you can see the deity take a swing of the sword and cut it in half before it even has a chance to do any more damage.
He turns to you and his growling softens. The nose of the mask comes close and it occurs to you that there’s a breath there. It pokes your forehead and it’s wet.
A whimper rips through your throat and he moves.
He picks you up with more tenderness than you were expecting. Suddenly, you’re on his back and he gets on all fours. The wind starts rushing through your hair and your face and it’s hard to breathe with the speed your suddenly traveling at. You hold on for dear life. Your fingers dig into white marked fur and it smells of smoke and earth. When he slows, you find it in your to open your eyes.
Fierce Deity Wolfie has carried you to where the injured are. The boys look worse for wear and have clearly seen better days. Time is surprising unconscious and it occurs to you that Twilight have might... or rather, would have had to steal the mask from him in order to even put it on.
Wolfie, even with his massive size, is gentle with you. He morphs again and lays you with the others to be taken care of or at least to be taken out of the battle.
You black out.
Waking up, you can feel the skin on your back being stretched but there’s a significant lack of arrows impaled there.
It’s uncomfortable but the lack of pain makes up for it.
A growl rips away the security you felt when you woke up and you’re on high alert again.
Others seem to be awake before you and after a quick mental headcount, you see that everyone is accounted for. Even Twilight, who still dons the mask and stands guard over the group.
You stare at him for a moment and after a second or two he feels the weight of your gaze. He turns to you and it’s just as frightening as the first. He’s stopped growling and instead makes his way over to you now that you’re awake.
You can’t help but to stare slack jawed and wide eyed at his impressive stature. You gulp when he kneels next to you. He sniffs all around you and the force of the air behind his breath pushes some of your hair out of your face.
“Twilight.” You say quietly. “We’re ok now.”
He growls again and moves a hand to maneuver you into a more comfortable position. You try to fight him but it’s only when you try to push away his hands do you realize how hurt you really are, and how tired you are. You never stood a chance.
He lays you down and brushes your hair away and makes sure the blanket it secure around you.
“Link.” You call softly and he stills. “Come back to us, Link. Come back to me.”
The Fierce Deity pauses. He looks down at you. You may not be able to see his eyes but you can tell he’s looking directly at you. You reach your hand up and his comes to stop you. Your heart is still pounding in your chest. “Please.”
He comes down low and nuzzles the side of your head with the fur of the pelt. It’s soft and warm. Alive.
Your other hand comes up to cup his jaw. You can feel the unnatural groove where the mask truly lays and you dig your fingers there. He makes no move to show pain or to stop you.
With another gulp you take your other hand out of his grasp and place it in the mirroring spot.
There’s no fight. The mask slides right off. Twilight kneels before you as you know him to be. He takes a breath like he hasn’t been breathing the entire time. Blearily, he blinks his eyes open and they make contact with yours.
“Y’u’re ok...” He slurs and even on his knees, he starts to sway back and forth. You pull him forward.
“Y’u’re safe.” He continues. “Y’u’re all ok...”
“Yes, Link. We are.” You cradle him despite your protesting injuries. “Rest now. You did good.”
Wild
“This is horrible.” He mutters and speeds off with you in his arms.
“Wild-” You speak.
“Shhhhh.” He says. The world blurs around you, making you nauseous. “I’ll take care of it.”
“Fierce Deity.” You spit and the creature stops. He lays you down gently on the grass, something you want to think Wild was in control of.
His face goes entirely blank of emotion as he stares at you. You know you have his attention now. “You better leave him unharmed and unmarked. You have to give him back to me.”
He says nothing as you assumed he would but he gives you a single nod. And that would have to be enough for you.
Your back aches and you have to arch it to even lay down properly on the grass. You can feel your injuries slowly ooze out and spread through your clothes. It’s warm and sticky.
You sigh and try to dig through your bag for a potion. You know it would be a bad idea to try and heal while the arrows are still very much imbedding into your flesh but you’ve been left with little options otherwise. You were really looking for way to combat the pain.
Distantly, you can hear explosions and the cut off screams of monster kind. It’s like a strange and destructive symphony to your ears.
It brings a sense of relief over your body and you sag against yourself. It’s the sound of backup. The cavalry has arrived. You are saved. You can rest. Help is here.
You gulp and try to reach the arrows with your good hand.
You are unsuccessful.
With a groan and cut off scream you throw yourself back onto the forest floor. It’s getting to be too much and your limited movement is annoying enough as it is. the last thing you want is to bleed out.
Wild returns with Time in his arms, unconscious and bleeding from the head. You gasp and try to keep your voice to a normal and acceptable level. “Oh my god...”
Wild frowns and clicks his tongue. He places Time on the forest floor next to you and turns to you. “Turn around.”
You don’t bother with a rebuttal. You do as he says.
He’s quick to take the arrows. You only see white ad your breath leaves for a moment before you come clashing back down with reality.
You curse when you can breathe again. The arrows lay by your side.
Another white light- this time not from your own eyes, takes over the area and your pain dissipates.
Wild stands and he sways slightly before his hand comes to rest by his head. “I have to help the others. There’s still too many.”
Your heart sinks even if you feel better. You feel tired. “I’ll watch over Time. Go. Be safe.”
Wild looks at you- his face returning to a neutral state. The deity is back at the for front.
You glare. “Take care of my boys.”
Another nod.
And he runs off.
With a deep breath you position yourself next to Time and try to keep an eye out for any monster that come nearby. There are more explosions in the distance.
“Come back to me, Link.” You whisper. “Don’t lose yourself to the power.”

Hi, um I was wondering if you could do Legend comforting reader after nightmare?
Absolutely! Coming right up!
Masterlist
Content under the cut!
Legend wasn’t one to sleep deeply.
He was fast on his feet, quick to react and quick to gather information and sue it to his advantage. So when he woke up to the fight sounds of fear, he was quick to sit up and look around.
It was a little hard to do considering the bleariness in his eyes still but he was determined to find the source. One look to his right showed Time, Twilight, Wild, Warrior and Wind borderline huddled together. He has no idea how they got to be like that but he’s going to find a way to take a photo before he sleeps again. A look to his left shows Hyrule, Sky, Four and himself spread across the rest of the camp and then there was you.
You were crying.
Now that... that just hurts.
Legend sits up completely, brushing The Traveler’s arm from his body and places it gently by his side. He makes a move and goes to wake you up.
He doesn’t know much about you or your adventures... or why you’re even with this group if you’re not a Link, but he knows the pain. He knows the struggle and the kind of hell of your own making- one that your own traitorous mind can concoct for you in the dead of night.
He moves and shakes your shoulders as rough as he can. No time to be gentle when time is of the essence.
You awake with a gasp for air and choked startled cry.
“Easy, easy.” Legend, gently now, runs his hands over your shoulders. “You’re ok. We’re all here. No one is hurt. We’re safe. You’re safe.”
You struggle to breath and frantically sit up, brushing your hair from your face and scan the camp site. You swallow a rough patch of dried spit. It’s enough to make Legend cringe at the sound. He can only imagine how useless that must have felt.
You scramble to get on your knees, looking for a threat that wasn’t there to begin with. Legend watches, keeping his distance just in case you decide to be reckless and someone needs to stop you.
He clear his throat quietly. You snap your head to him as if he had set off a bomb instead. He smile the best he can. “Want to talk about it?”
You sniffle and wipe your face furiously. Legend thinks it’s kind of cute. Like a mouse washing their face. You take another deep breath and lower yourself back down to the ground and pull your blanket over yourself. “No... I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Good, I didn’t want to hear about it.” He replies naturally.
The way the words leave his mouth so callously leave you stunned and scrambling to find a way to make sense of it. Legend reaches over and around Sky to grab his own blanket and yanks it toward himself. He flops over and lands next to your pillow.
“Come on.” Legend pokes your side.
You follow him wordlessly and still struggle to figure out his play. He seems to be nonchalant and uncaring.... but this isn’t his typical behavior.
Legend gets tired of waiting for you and instead pulls you close and on top of him. He doesn’t hesitate to put your head on his chest and start going through your hair like you were sweethearts.
“You know. I knew a guy once that had an obsession with purple rabbits.” He says quietly. “Everything he had, had one. He even wore a purple bunny cloak and wore the hood as a mask so I couldn’t see his face. He was a greedy son of a-.... anyway. We’re friends now. And I’m sure that he’s turned my house into a shop again now that I’m here traveling with the group.”
You have no idea what’s happening.
But his attention to your hair is soft and tender and feels nice. His heartbeat is strong, sturdy and comforting in your ear. And Legend’s voice is just distracting enough where you don’t feel the need to keep lingering on the dream and images of your less than desirable past.
You don’t have a clue what Legend is talking about. And the way he quietly speaks commands attention. He’s distracting you. And every is nice and safe and calm.
You’re so tired from the fitful sleep and you’re trying too hard to pay attention to Legend’s words as he rambles and speak non stop about anything and everything. His words start to blur together and his hands are soon the only thing you can really focus on until you can no longer keep your eyes open.
His voice is finally completely muffled. It’s simply a sense of warmth that surrounds you now and you drift off. His heartbeat ticking away rhythmically in a hushed lullaby.
You drift back off to sleep in no time at all.
Legend never gets his picture of the other half of the group but when he wakes up to you still curled up in his arms, tear stains on your cheeks with a muted smile on your lips. Legend knows he did the right thing.

Hi! This is my first time making a request, so I’m a bit nervous lol. Anyway I wanted to ask if you could do the chain’s reaction to reader being able to do magic? like scarlet witch (from marvel) kind of magic? if you can’t or are uncomfortable, that’s ok! it could also be just reader being able to do magic in general? or just ignore this ask hahaha
Masterlist
I hope you don't mind but this seemed to lend itself well to a headcanon post.
I don't know much about Wanda's power only that it's on some degree a form of telekinesis. But I'll do some research to try and be as accurate as possible to what you have in mind.
That being said, content under the cut!
Warrior
Warrior is at a cross roads
He’s seen many incredible people use magic but he’s also seen those same people use it against him
He doesn’t want to project his paranoia onto anyone
But that’s easier said that done if he had to be honest with himself
Hyrule’s magic is one thing, he knows that it’s limited and that he only has a few spells at his disposal, and Hyrule is also a Link, a hero
The Traveler is like him, he can be trusted, he knows this in his soul
But you’re not a hero, you’re just a person with an extraordinary person, with magic that isn’t commonly known within Hyrule as a country
The only other person he can compare to magic that somewhat comes close to your power was Cia... and she had a staff
He wants to calm down- to give you the benefit of the doubt
Warrior, however, has learned to leave as little unexpected variables as possible
He doesn’t like not knowing the possibilities- being unable to plan ahead
He has a plan on the off chance he’d have to fight any one in the group even if he’d hate to do it, but he doesn’t know what angle to go about taking you down with as little harm as possible
It’s... a thought he doesn’t entertain often
Still, he doesn’t want you to know just how paranoid he is
He’s just going to try and be a good friend and ignore it the best that he can
Time
Impressed but glosses over it very quickly
You’re not the first and he doubts you’ll be the last magic user he meets.
He’s impressed in the sense that telekinesis is not only a rare form of magic but even harder to master
You’re a natural
Still, he as much as he can see that the other boys are entranced by it, he doesn’t want you to over do it
Even less so for their sakes
He’s making sure that you don’t use your power for longer than necessary
He’s also making sure that you keep your energy up, on the off chance that your magic power works a similar manner to Hyrule’s (he doesn’t ask if it does)
Meaning, that there’s only so much you can use in a day so you have to ration it for whatever may happen
Time knows that the need to impress and provide can do to a person and he doesn’t want you to fall into that
Not to mention that he knows you’re more than your powers and gifts
As someone who grew up surrounded by magic and extraordinary people, he takes a moment to the unique challenges that you have to face on your own
He is curious about the extent of your abilities though and he wants to know just how far it can go
But he’ll never ask you to push yourself
He takes it in stride and watches over what you do just as much as he’d watch over the rest of the boys - if he tells them to lay off about your powers then that’s just between themselves
Hyrule
He’d be enamored on sight
Magic isn’t something a lot of people can do even if it’s prolific in Hyrule as a whole
He doesn’t see you recite spells and use components to get your magic to work, you just... do it
He wants to know everything you can do
He wants to compare notes
He wants to see if he can copy some of your abilities (He can’t but that won’t stop him trying)
Like a little kid, he wants to see you use it in the most mundane scenarios
Hyrule doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable but to his eyes, it looks passive and it’s a form of magic he’s not accustomed to
He’s absolutely fascinated by it
For a long time he was the only magic user that he knew of, he had to learn a lot of things on his own
While you may not be able to heal the group or summon lighting from your finger tips, he learns very quickly that you’re just a good in a fight as he is- better even- in terms of only using magic to fight back
The Traveler has seen a lot but there’s a beauty in your magic that isn’t used to seeing
Like a trance, he’s pulled in and he can only hope that it has nothing to do with your using a spell on him
Even if you did, he doesn’t think he’d mind all that much to be honest
If he had to fall under anyone’s spell, he’d gladly fall under yours
Wind
It’s the quickest way to get him to calm down
Not by holding him down or anything like that of course, it does not mean use your power on him
But he falls into a trance like state really easily, just watching you in action
If he’s being a bit hyper, or if he’s being a bit rowdy, don’t pay attention to him
Just take a few miscellaneous objects and start floating them around
He’ll calm down and join your side
Like a snake charmer
But without the snake and the music
Wind is the kind of boy that would pretend to copy your powers when he thinks you’re not looking
If you catch him in the act, don’t call attention to it
He’ll get flustered and embarrassed and never do it again
And honestly, it’s adorable that he’s trying, even he knows he can’t do the same
All that being said, he’s the first to jump to your aid if you find yourself in over your head
Magic and powers and are cool and all but you’re only human and there’s only so much you can account for
He may not know a lot about how magic works or how people like you even come across those abilities, but that won’t stop him from letting you take on the world on your own
Wild
He’s going want to compare it to the Sheikah Slate
Unfortunately, he can only compare it to magnesis if he’s being honest with himself
The changing of thoughts and dreams though....
He wonders if you can read minds
He wonders is you can help him to unlock his memories
He wouldn’t want to bring it up though unless he’s absolutely certain that it’s within the realm of your capabilities
But the thought is always in the back of his mind
He thinks it’s useful as well but he’ll treat with the same respect as Hyrule gets with his magic
It’s all they really have to compare to so they’re always trying to see which one of you can do what and how
It’s completely different but not even Hyrule has shown everything he can do as of yet so Wild has to admit that he’s curious
If Wild was to be completely honest with himself, he forgets that you can even do magic to begin with
So every time you do something unexpected or just whip out your power to clear the road, he’s stuck staring at you like you’ve grown a second head
If you’re particularly cheeky in nature, you can wink at him and send a little bit of your power his way just to tease him
This works without fail to fluster him because he’s never on guard
Wild would bite hip in his attempt to keep the impressed look off of his face because he already knew you could it, he knew this, why is he acting like this?
Legend
Unfazed
Well.... at least what it looks like to anyone looking in
He wants to say he’s surprised, but that would be a lie
He wants to say he’s impressed but he also doesn’t want to seem weird
He is the epitome of that John Mulaney meme, “This might as well happen”
He doesn’t want to make a big deal out of it, even if he’s a bit curious as to why your powers are so different
He would just casually ask you to help with problems, using your powers like “Can you get that thing please? “Can you blow that up?” “What’s the quickest way you have to go and get rid of that monster?”
If you’re using it as a tool at your disposal to fight the good fight, Legend is not above also counting it within his plans of attack.
That being said, he loves watching you
Even if you use it as a form of play, or you’re trying to get sharper attack time, or get harder hits
He’ll never find himself bored of just watching people in their natural, unbothered environment
Sometimes, when he’s also bored, he’ll ask to spar with you
On the off chance that he’ll ever meet someone else like you with less than trust worthy motives, he wants to be prepared
He doesn’t like that idea in the back of his head
Something tells him that it’ll remind him too much of you if it comes to that but he knows it’s better to be prepared than flying blind
Four
Four would have expected it to be more like Zelda’s magic
If not, then maybe closer to Hyrule’s, or Fairy Magic
So he’s surprised when it’s couldn’t be farther from the truth
He likes to spar with you for fun, just to test out weapon after weapon, how they all reflect different enchantments against your magic
It’s easier for you to just pick him up and fling him away
But that would be mean
.....you do it at least once, and instantly regret it
He wants you to do it all the time now
“Throw me up onto the ledge”
“If you throw me, I can get it down from the tree”
“How far do you think you can throw me without either of us getting hurt or in trouble?”
It’s a monster of your own making
Granted it’s still your choice if you decide to go through with it or not, he’ll eventually back down from it if you deny him enough
But let’s face it, it’s fun, he’ll always want to do it again, deep in his heart
He’s completely lost all sense of responsibility toward it and toward the power, he just wants to play at this point
Twilight
Twilight isn’t big on magic to begin with
He doesn’t intend to judge but he does try to keep his distance when you’re using it
That being said, he does watch from the corner of his eyes
He’s seen you fight
It’s both impressive and terrifying
A lot of magic he’s seen is loud and brash and explosive
Yours is a quiet kill
Deadly in motion but undetectable to even to his sensitive ears
Twilight finds himself wondering if your magic was bestowed on you as a gift, or if it was something you’ve been inclined to do your entire life
He knows you’re a good person, but he’s seen some of your... methods when dealing with monsters.. or villains
He doesn’t plan on pissing you off or becoming your enemy anytime soon- or at all, if he can help it
That being said, he is half tempted to make a game out of it, just to see if you’d be interested
Like an intense game of catch that quickly turns onto and one-on-one think fast dodging spree
He knows that it’s not smart
And he’s almost guaranteed to lose.... but he’s never backed down from a challenge before
Sky
Amazed
He’s had a few close calls with other magic individuals- mostly Ghirahim if he’s being honest so he doesn’t count
But he’s never seen someone like him have such power before.
Zelda is awakening her powers and is still getting used to all the things she can do but you already seem to know what you’re doing?
How long have you has this power?
Did you have teachers?
Are there others like you?
Other than that, he’s not going to think too much of it
Despite his questions, he actually keeps them to himself on the off chance it would bother you
He knows that Hyrule can do it too, so he supposed it’s more common than his experiences led him to believe.
If someone else asks though, you can bet your bottom dollar he’ll be paying close attention
He won’t ever ask you to use your power for his own amusement even if he’s curious
He does pay attention to the little things you do when you’re bored though
He thinks it’s an amazing talent
A gift, truly

Masterlist
Part one included Legend, Wild and Warrior, which you can read right here!
Content under the cut!
Legend
Legend doesn’t know how much time has passed.
He wasn’t allowed to be near you the entire time they worked on you. Between fairies, potions, Hyrule’s spell and time... there was little any one could do. But your heart was beating. And that counting for everything.
Legend however, had gone to numb to all of this, coming to grips that you’re hanging by a thread. He stares unblinking into the crackling fire and he feels like screaming. He feels like crying. He feels like he’s lost a part of himself.
The bandages they’ve managed to wrap around your torso and face need to be changed soon. The blood is beginning to seep through. Legend looks away again, not wanting to deal with this reality.
No one had come around to ask him questions but he can feel their stares on him. Legend doesn’t know what to tell him. He knows he’s not fine. He’s anything but fine. He doesn’t want to do anything anymore. He just wants to be by you.
With that in mind, he stands suddenly, startling the group as they eat. Weird, when did Wild cook? Where was his bowl? Unimportant. He’s not even that hungry
Legend kicks the now empty bowl by his feet without noticing it and strides right toward you. He knows someone goes to reach out, to stop him but h doesn’t feel their grip on his tunic. Someone must have stopped them too. He’s thankful.
With heavy feet, a heavy heart and tears in his eyes, Legend drops to his knees beside you and grabs you hand. He wants to be gentle and hold you tenderly, but his grip is tight. His knuckles turn white instantly and he has to keep himself from openly, violently shaking. Legend presses his forehead into your shoulder and tries to stifle the sob as best he can.
He’s unsuccessful. But at least the others don’t bother him.
He doesn’t know when he falls asleep.
When he wakes up again, there’s someone petting his hair and he’s confused. Slowly, he looks up and sees that he’s still holding onto your hand. So it can’t be that. He looks higher, and sees your other hand come to a slightly pause.
Your smiles smile from underneath the bandages. “,,,,,Good.... morning...”
Legend takes your hand and brings it to his lips, kissing them gently. He laughs and gently sooths his fingers over your face, being as light and gentle as he can. He tries to have only a feathers touch but he can see that you’re still agitated by it. Legends hates seeing you like this but he finds it in himself to smile back. “Good morning sunshine.... You scared me half to death... Thought I’d have to meet you half way.”
You grunt. “You would have gone alone and for nothing. I’m not dying yet.”
Your voice sounds better than it should be for someone who just woke up. He tells you this and you smile a bit wider. “I’ve been up for a while. But I told the boys to let you sleep. Wild got me some water so I’ve been ok. Everything hurts though.”
A laugh tumbles out of Legend before he can stop it. “Yeah. I believe you.”
His grip on your hand tightens. You’re going to be ok. You’re alive. You’re breathing. You drank some water.
It’s ok. It’ll be ok.
Legend swallows roughly and momentarily notices that maybe he should have some water too. He doesn’t go get it.
You hum, try to squeeze his hand back. “They say you found me.”
Legend doesn’t reply.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t.” Legend says and it’s all he can get before his voice catches. “I was too late.”
“Nonsense. I’m still here.” You cough and quiet yourself down again. “Later. We’ll talk about it later.”
He nods- and remembers that you wouldn’t be able to see him. Talking is suddenly very hard. “...Ok...”
“Good.”
Wild
Wild doesn’t really know how many pass by anymore. He’s checked out mentally. He knows that the sun has set and risen a couple of times but he hasn’t slept enough to even attempt to count them.
A part of him is conscious enough to realize that he’s worrying the others but he can’t bring himself to do anything about it.
They had managed to bring you to an inn and get some medicine into your body.
You’ve.... looked better, Wild thinks. But still, it’s better than when you were left to deal with it in the middle of no where. You still haven’t woken up.
However, Wild tries to hold onto some fragment of hope. There’s a bit of color on your cheeks now and you’re taking deeper breaths. Your fever had broken earlier that day and there’s a light coating of sweat where your body was cooling itself down naturally. Wild takes the hem of his sleeves and wipes it off of your forehead and jaw. He can’t do much about the sweat that’s gathering at the back of your neck, but he leaves it for now.
With a sigh, he sits on the chair he’s dragged to the bed side.
He hates feeling useless.
It was a recurring feeling when Zelda would pray and scream and beg at the fountains for her gift to be unlocked for her. And he had to sit and listen to it all.
This is a different type of torture because at least Zelda was speaking and loud and animated. You’re as silent as the grave. And it terrifies him.
Wild takes your hand and brings it up to kiss your knuckles. He wants to be optimistic and less sorrowful. Four and Time seems fairly confident that you’re pull through and Sky and Hyrule have been rotating day and night to administer the medicine they’ve bought.
Wild has never left your side once.
He sits in silence as well, holding your hand against his face. The heat of it brings him comfort even if he knows it’s residual fever. It’s better than the icy cold touch of that night. He’s had the occasional nightmare that it was all real and he’d wake up and you’d be gone.
With a gulp, Wild makes himself comfortable in the old and rickety chair he’s more or less stolen from the inn keeper.
Then, in a silent and almost heart dropping moment, you stir. “...Mmmm”
Wild’s head snaps back to you. His eyes locking onto your face. He doesn’t dare to breath.
You let out a breath, another hum coming out. “...Hmmm..”
Wild collapses in the chair and folds over in half, his head coming to rest by your waist. “Oh thank the stars...”
“....Link...”
Wild snaps his head up again. Tears pool in his eyes and his grip on your hand tightens. Tenderly, he says your name back and waits.”
“....Wild...”
A tear falls. “I’m here. I’m here. I never left.”
A small smile graces your face even if you don’t wake up and Wild cries at the sight.
You’re going to be just fine.
Warrior
Warrior hasn’t once left your side. He’s checking everything he can. Form your pulse, to your temperature, to your bandages, to the clean state everything should be in and back again. He’s the one to personally feed you, to dress your wounds, to treat the infection. He’s your nurse 24/7. Warrior doesn’t even sleep.
The others notice.
“Warrior-”
“No.” Warrior shuts down the attempt. “I need to see this through.”
“You need to take care of yourself.”
“Who’s going to take care of them?” He stresses, putting his hand a bit too roughly on the table beside him. It shakes with the added momentum but he can’t bring himself to acknowledge it, let alone look the other Link in the eye.
“All of us.” The other tries again. “We’re all here for you and them. We’re here to help. you know this.”
“I... I was almost too late.” Warrior says through gritted teeth. “I was almost... I saw it. They didn’t even scream. I’ve never been more terrified of silence in my life.”
“Link.” The other steps forward, putting his hands on his shoulders. The use of his name catches Warrior’s attention and he finally looks up at the visitor. Time steps forward again, and tightens his grip on Warrior’s shoulder. “You’re not alone. They’re not alone. Let us help. You need rest. You know what they’ll say if.. no, when they wake up and hear about this.”
Warrior sighs and sits on the chair. “Ok, ok, you’re right. I hate it. But you’re right. I don’t..... Time, I love them. I love them so much. That thought that they could’ve.... To hold their limp body in my arms..... It was my worst nightmare come to life.”
Time sighs, nodding along with his words. Time sits on the bed next to you and Warrior worries about the added pressure on the bed. You don’t stir... Just like the last three days- no movement on your end. You don’t even know he’s there.
“Take a nap.” Time says and Warrior knows that voice. It’s his commander voice and it scratches something deep inside Warrior. He doesn’t know what to do about it. Part of him gets pissed off and other is tempted to obey.
He huffs, getting comfy with the rickety wooden chair. It doesn’t do much, but the second he lets himself relax he can feel the exhaustion roll off of him. His eyes close against his will and he falls asleep in seconds.
He doesn’t know when exactly he wakes up. Only that it’s gone dark and there’s no one else around at the moment. Someone put a blanket over him and moved him around so that he’d be more comfortable. Warrior appreciates the effort but that doesn’t really help the developing crick in his head.
He takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly, rubbing his sore spots. Suddenly you sit up with a gasp on your breath. It startles Warrior so bad that he falls off of his chair.
You look his way and slowly piece together the pieces around you. He sees your hand come to your head- something you did when you have a headache coming on. And he gets up as fast as he can.
“My Love, how do you feel?” Warrior gulps, gently sitting on the bed by your leg. He brushes your hair away form your face.
You look at him miserably. “I feel like I got trampled, Link. What happened?”
Warrior takes a calming breath and steadies his hand by your cheek. “You took some bad hits, Sweetheart. I thought I would have lost you.”
You blink and come back into the moment. Warrior knows that he’s about to cry, but he’s relived to finally see you awake, and he’s so tired himself, that he can’t muster up the energy to stop it as it builds.
Warrior leans over and kiss your forehead. He stays there, just breathing and looking at your hand as it rests beside you. “I was so afraid.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. Never be.” He takes in a shaky breath and kisses you again, moving down your nose and your cheeks and your chin. “You’re safe now. And you’re awake. And you’re going to get better, ok?”
“Naturally.” You smile, even if it’s a bit strained.
“Good. Now... Are you hungry?”
“Not really.”
“Too bad. Wild made soup.”
“Suddenly, I’m starving.”

Reader leaving the chain at the end of the adventure to their own world angst (bc the link in question didn’t confess/had feelings)
Masterlist
Angst, angst, angst! You asked for it!
I'm willing to deliver.
Part one will include Sky, Wind and Four
Content under the cut.
Sky
Sky wasn’t ready for this.
In his heart he knew that it would happen eventually. They all did. He didn’t... He want to see you go. In the short time you’ve all traveled together. He.. You... He had no words. He didn’t expect himself to fall for you as fast as he did. He foolishly allowed himself to think or assume that it would simply last forever.
And there it was- the portal- in front of them all. And you were leaving first.
“Ok!” You adjusted your bag around your hip and tightened it. “I guess... this is goodbye.”
“We’re going to miss you.” Four smiles softly.
“You’ve done good work. Things will be safe now.” Time nods your way, pride and emotion filling his eye.
“You’ll be missed.”
“We believe in you!”
“It was an honor to meet you.”
“I couldn’t ask for any else to fight by my side.”
“Don’t expect any sappy stuff from me.” Legend bites his lip and waves you off. “You’ve been away from your family long enough. They’re waiting for you.”
You wipe the unshed tears from your eyes and nod determinedly. “Right. I’ll miss all of you too. Don’t get into too much trouble.”
“Bad habits, die hard.” Legend winks.
“It’s old habits. The saying is “Old Habits”.” Twilight sighs, pinching his nose.
You laugh and look at Sky. The sight takes his breath away. You’re as radiant as the first time he saw you. More so even, with his added feelings. He should say something. He should confess, if only so you know.
Sky opens his mouth-
“I’m glad I met you.” You beat him to it. “Sky... Can I have one last hug?”
His mouth clicks shut and he nods. You walk toward him, wasting no time in throwing your arms around him. You take in a deep breath and Sky holds you tighter. “I’m going to miss you a lot. You take care of yourself, ok? You have a lot of work to do back home.”
“Right.” Sky chokes out. He doesn’t want to cry. He doesn’t want the last time you see him to be when he’s crumbling. “You keep safe as well. There are people who care about you.”
“I know.” You pull back. Your hand comes up to caress your cheek and you stay for a beat longer than he expected before you spin on your heel and march away.
Sky blurts out your name and you stop. But you don’t turn around, only turning your head marginally to the side so that he’s within your peripheral vision.
Say it, he tells himself. This is your last chance. SAY IT!
“ I-” He speaks. “I hope you find what you’re looking for.”
IDIOT! He yells. You smile a bit, and it’s sad. For some reason that little comment made you sad. It’s his fault. He caused it.
“That’s a bit hard at this point.” You shrug. “But sometimes life jus doesn’t work out the way we want.”
You raise you hand. “Love you.” And then you walk through the portal.
Sky continues to stare at where you stood. He didn’t do it. You didn't wait any longer to give him another chance. He knows that the second he steps through he’d most likely be on the surface of his own time. The time before reincarnations and kingdoms and Ganon.
Just like that it’s over.
Wind
The portal in front of you in large and imposing. It’s no longer the dark and malicious purple and black swirls from the first one he walked through. It’s blue and white and calming.
It’s the end.
Wind gulps as he sees you walk toward it.
This is goodbye.
“Wait.” He bites off the rest of his sentence.
You turn just as your hand reaches out to go through it. There’s only one portal this time and he knows that soon it will be his turn to walk through- just like it’s now yours. But he will walk out onto the shores of his home. You will also return. And be far, far away from him.
“Wind.” You smile and tilt your head. “What is it?
The words tick the roof of his mouth. I like you, he wants to say. Could I get a goodbye kiss, sits on his tongue.
“One last hug?” He offers instead.
You beam and you borderline sprint back to him. You crash into him with more force than he was expecting and he has to take a few steps back to recalibrate or else you both risk falling backwards.
You hold into him tightly, nearly cutting off his ability to breath but he can’t complain. He takes it as his excuse to hug you back just as tightly.
You pull back far too soon and Wind fights the urge to cry. When he sees your face he can see that you’re fighting the same fight, but losing.
“Take care of yourself Link.” You say, eyes bright with unshed tears. “Take care of your grandmother and your sister and Tetra and all of Outset and the pirates and-”
Wind sniffles and wipes the single tear that fell down your face as you spoke. “I will, I promise. That’s our job after all.”
You nod, and Wind belatedly remembers that you’re not a hero like them.
“Don’t forget me.” He says.
“How could I ever?!” You cry back and hug him once more. “Silly boy! I’m going to miss you the most.”
You pull back quickly and kiss his cheek. “But I have to go home now. Goodbye Link.”
Wind is stunned and he watches you leave. You turn back one last time to wave to him and wave more enthusiastically to other who are still around to watch you go. They all send their cheers and well wishes and you leave.
You’re gone.
“Alright.” Hyrule gets up. “My turn. You all behave yourselves. I’m not going to be around to heal you when you do something stupid anymore.”
He’s teasing and others follow suit.
But Wind can’t join in. He couldn’t do it.
You kissed him and he couldn’t say it.
He couldn’t even say that he liked you. It would have been fine if you just believed that he meant it as a friend. But he couldn’t even do that.
And you’re gone.
Gone.
Gone.
Gone.
He can’t ever see you again.
He’s a coward, isn’t he? Why couldn’t he say it?
Four
Four couldn’t believe it.
They did it. It’s over. It’s all over. They can go home now.
You appear next to him suddenly, tackling him in a hug before he can even get a sound out. “We did it!”
He can feel your energy and his adrenaline is waning and he can feel himself fall into a fit of giggles. “Yeah, we did. We did! We did it!”
He feels so whole in this moment. It’s actually quiet for a moment before the world around him explodes into sound and color and it take shim a moment to realize that the others have started cheering and celebrating in their own fashion.
You stop spinning him and place your forehead against his. You open your mouth to say something but are cut off.
A light breaks up the moment and everyone turns their attention just across the battle field. A portal opens. Light and clean and inviting.
It’s time to go home.
“Wait, wait, wait!” Wind yells. “Just like that?”
“Just like that.” Twilight sighs. “I suppose.... we should.... say our goodbyes?”
No one knowledges that he begins to get choked up.
You pull away from Four and his heart drops to his feet. Now? They have to leave now?
You look the group and Four can almost see the gears turning in your head. He goes to grab your hand but you take a breath and step toward the others, just out of his reach. “I can go first.”
“Wait what?” Four’s voice breaks. You can’t be serious. Just like that? After everything? After that whole fiasco- just... just like that? You’re going to go??!?!
“I probably shouldn’t have been here anyway.” You admit with a small scratch to your cheek. “I was never a hero to begin with. My family didn’t even know I would be gone, so they have no idea where I went.”
Oh man, Four didn’t even think of that. He steps forward again, taking your hand in his. You jump and look at him. Tear begin to pool in your eyes and Four’s heart shatters with it.
“I love you.” You look to the group. “All of you. I’ve never met more genuine and brilliant people. You all are amazing- “ You grip his hand tighter. “-and talented-” You throw it for emphasis. “-and great- and incredible- and I want you all to live long, happy, fulfilling lives.”
Your own voice catches and your other hands comes up to cover your face. “I’m going to miss all of you.”
The group acts as a unit. They all hug you, pushing Four both away from you and closer to you and he can’t think any more.
They stay like that for a moment and he can vaguely hear that you’re crying. He doesn’t want that. Four doesn’t want it to end like this. He thought they would do it peacefully. This is too abrupt. This is worse than when he first pulled the Four Sword and even more disorienting than when he put it back and back just one person again.
Everyone let’s go and you get some space to breath. Everyone starts saying their goodbyes, getting closure and patting your back, ruffling your hair and drying your tears.
Four does nothing.
You turn to him as the last person and he thinks there’s tears on his face but he can’t feel them.
You cup his cheek and wipe them with your thumb. “Goodbye Link.”
You’re smiling and you’re beautiful.
“Take care of yourself.” You say. You pause like you want to say more but you don’t.
You walk toward the portal and Four runs after you. He crashes into your back and takes a deep breath. He doesn’t want you to go, he doesn’t want to lose you- he doesn’t want you to go without him saying anything.
You turn around to hug him back and Four doesn’t try to pull himself together.
With more minutes passing between the two of you, he knows the others are watching. Trying to stall before they also have to say their own goodbyes.
“Goodbye.” You whine and pull him off of you.
Speaking has never been this difficult for him. Four’s screaming at himself. Say it! Say something!
You walk through.
Broken hearted, he falls to his knees and chokes out your name. “... I love you.”

Could I pwetty pweashe have a scenario for each of the boys where reader is loopy with fever or from poison and the whole time they are just laying the compliments on real thick and going on and on abt how much they love their boys 🙏🙏🙏
Masterlist
Yeeesssss!!! Will do!
Here we go. Boys under the cut! Immediate Reader!
***
You were trying to go and find some food for dinner at Wild's request and found some interesting looking berries. They looked like blueberries from your world but there was purple thorns on the bush instead, with yellow trimmed leaves.
You grabbed a few and retraced and marked your steps to find your way back to the bushes. You thought that maybe one of the boys would be able to identify the berries and know if they were actually edible or not.
You stashed them away and grinned to yourself. It was a possibility that they were good but if they weren't- there was other ways to use the berries.
You still needed to find food that your group actually is able to eat if the berries aren't worth anything.
You hear your name being called and it startles you enough to take a step back and look behind you.
You trip on a root and crash against the forest floor- falling onto a separate patch of the same berries. Pollen and dew shoot up from the impact and you're forced to inhale it all in.
There's instant discomfort in your lungs and in your head, and you can already feel the multiple places where the thorns have pierced your skin and ripped your clothes.
You take a while to pry yourself out of the bushes, pain littered in all places you didn't even know you could hurt.
You cough and inhale more of the pollen that hasn't settled yet.
A massive headache begins pounding against your temples and back of your head.
You hear your name being called once more but this time in concern and blink away what you can. You groan and try your best to stand, falling to one knee in a coughing fit with pain and discomfort all throughout your joints and muscles.
You look up and smile despite it, a slight giggle of hysteria on your lips. "Hi Link! Guess what I found!"
Warrior "Oh sweet name of the three, what happened to you?" You see Warrior walk up to you and reach out his hand.
You giggle again and reach out to him. He grabs you and tries to lift you back onto your feet but your legs gives out from beneath you and you fall again.
"Hello~!" You lift out your hand and show him the berries. "You know if theses are good or not?"
"Nope." Warrior smacks them out of your hand with a backhanded swing. "Those are known for being highly toxic in.... depressant... components... Don't tell me you ate them?"
You grin and shake your head. "Nope! I didn't know if they were good or not...but I fell~!"
Warrior's face does that thing where he looks concerned but is only marginally capable of hiding it. "On the plant?"
"Link, you're so smart!" You get to your feet and fall nearly on top of him. Warrior is quick to catch you and hold you with his hands on your waist and you grin up at him, adoration pooled in your eyes. "That's what I did~! Man, you're so strong. You're stronger than I thought you were. Your arms are so toned too. I didn't think you had this much muscle."
"Ok. Let's get you to Sky." Warrior rolls his eyes and begins to more or less drag you away from the plants and back to where you think the group is. "Or maybe Four, this is his Hyrule anyway. Maybe he'll know how to get you fixed up."
"See, this is why I like you so much. You're always so fast to come up with a plan and you're so caring. You're so smart. You're so great." You giggle and try to follow his footsteps but find it really hard to put one foot in front of the other.
After what felt like a few seconds, (but was really ten minutes of Warrior fighting you and gravity (not successfully) to keep you upright), Warrior gives up on your non cooperative limbs and picks you up bridal style and begins to carry you away from the infested area.
"Link, I love you."
"I love you too." Warrior waves you off with a playful roll of his eyes.
"No.. but I really love you!" You insist, getting loud for no reason and place your hands on his face. You give him a squish and lean into his space. "You have to understand this. I would do anything to you."
"I know you would." He laughs. "I'd do anything for you too."
He shakes his head out of your hands and grins at you. "I think you're a little drunk from the plants toxins."
"Nuh-uh." You pout. "I'm too strong for that. I'm completely........ ok."
"I believe you." Warrior bites his lip trying to keep his cool before he absolutely looses it. He's both touched by your words and concerned for your well being. He supposes you're more or less drunk and loopey. It's not the most desirable circumstance but he's sure that those cuts on your skin and tears on your clothes can be handled more easily than the up coming hangover.
You fall silent after a second and look up at him. You poke his cheek and his nose and grin, hugging him close and snuggling into his chest and neck. "Has anyone ever told you that you're very handsome?"
"I think that's the more common compliment." He admits.
"And your eyes are very pretty and very blue and you have very long eye lashes and it's all very pretty. And you have a strong jaw."
"Do I?"
"So strong and sharp- it could cut glass." You say seriously. "And your hair always looks very soft and shiny and silky and I want to play with it but I don't want to make things weird. And you're so cool! You're so smart. You're so nice. And you're great with kids and people and everyone likes you so much, so quickly and it's so cool to watch you work and fight and-"
"You're going to keep going forever unless I stop you, aren't you?" Warrior swallows and tries to fight his upcoming blush. He had thought that you were joking for a moment but the more you talk the more it hits that you're being genuine.
You furrow your brows and hit him with the most innocent doe eyes you don't know that you have. "Do you want me to stop?"
Warrior almost trips at that way his heart skips a beat and he chuckles awkwardly. "Actually... No. It's ok. I don't mind."
"You deserve the world, Link." You say finally and go back to resting with your head in the crook of his neck. "I just wish that you could see that, you stubborn man."
"I'll... try my best."
"Good."
Time "Oh no." Time sighs and makes his way over to you. "What happened? Are you hurt?"
"My head hurts." You admit and drop the berries from your palm to cradle your temple. "I was trying to look for food... I think I found it but I also... don't."
Time kneels in front of you and places the back of his hand on your forehead. He hisses at the temperature and places his hand under your chin. "Why do you keep finding yourself in situations like this?"
"You boys keeping putting me situations like this." You mutter and try to stand. Your legs fail you and Time lurches in front of you in order to catch you.
"Do you see me as a boy?" Time raises an eyebrow.
"NOT that I'm complaining." You ignore his question and pat his face. "I love you guys, so much but like...This is what happens when I care about people. I end up in stupid situations."
"Maybe Four will have somethin to help out this." Time admits and picks you up without any further thought. "Let get you some help."
"Link, you're so great." You sigh and press your forehead against the crook of his head. His heartbeat is strong and he's cooler than you thought so you sigh in contentment.
"You're so calm and I always feel safe around you and you give the best hugs." You grin against his ear and Time has to stifle the upcoming chuckles from his chest.
"Do I?"
"The best hugs." You reiterate and snuggle closer. "You can ask Wind, he'll agree."
"I'm sure he will." Time let's a snort pass and he nods to Four as he passes. "They fell in a berry bush."
"Blue berries! With pretty leaves and thorns!" You cry out with an arm outstretched to the sky. "Not good for food, no no no, but good."
"Well... I'll start the antidote." Four sighs and walks away to his pack, immediately digging through it for the ingredients that will help you out.
"Four!" You sing and turn your head back into Time's neck. "Isn't Time the best? He's so strong and gentle and nice and he's so great."
Time lets more laughter fall from his lips as he places you on the ground next to his supplies. He says your name with a slight whine and begins to beg. "Please."
"Beeeeeesst hugs." You ignore him.
Four snickers from the other side of the camp and pulls out a bottle.
"I adore you Old Man. I don't think you get told that enough." You continue. "Like, you always try so hard to be a good person. You've gone through so much and you had no reason to start your adventure or to keep helping people and doing stuff but you care so much so you're here still and I think-"
Oh no, Time thinks, you're crying.
"Ok, ok, it's ok." time kneels next to you and puts your hair behind your ear. "No need to be upset. I'm here and everything's ok."
"But you've been hurt so much!" You pout, tears pooling in your eyes. "And yet you're still here and no one thanks you and you try so hard to watch over all of us and even then-"
"That's enough." Time frowns slightly and shakes his head. "I'm just doing what I'm supposed to."
"No one is making you." You pout and lay down on the ground. "You're not listening to me."
"Believe me, I am."
"Here." Four comes up to you and hands you a little bottle filled with viscous green liquid. "Drink this."
"I don't wanna." You pout. "I don't feel good."
"It'll make you feel better." Four tries again, before Time takes the bottle from his hands and uncorks it.
"Drink it." He says, in a tone which means there no room for argument.
"You're such a dad." You complain and grab it from his hand, placing it to your lips and begin sipping it slowly.
Time shakes his head and runs a hand through his hair. "What are we going to do with you?
Wild "Oh boy, I don't think these are good for eating." He says with a slight grimace. "We should probably not get near these. Let's go clean you up, yeah?"
"WIILLDD!!" You grin and reach your grabby hands in his direction. "Beautiful boy, how are you today~?"
Wild coughs a little and tries to hide his discomfort by avoiding eye contact. "I'm... fine... How are you?"
"Everything hurts~" You admit and look up at him with pleading eyes. "Carry me?"
"Oh boy, sure, why not?" He sighs and wraps around your shoulders and hooks the other under your knees, carrying you effortlessly through the thicket.
"How did this even happen?" He asks out of curiosity.
"I heard you call my name and fell."
"Fell where?"
"In the bush." You mumble with a pout and cross your arms. "It's all pokey and my clothes are ripped and I think I'm bleeding."
Wild bite his lip and hisses. "Sorry."
" 's not you're fault." You look up at him and pat his face. "You're too nice. I just wanted to help and got hurt like stupid me tends to do."
"You're not stupid." Wild scolds you gently. "You are incredibly smart."
"You're the smart one."
"Think so? I think some of the other will disagree."
"Well they can eat my shoes."
Wild coughs out a laugh again in a vain attempt to hide how uncharacteristically serious that was for you and how the unexpectedness of it made him lose it on the inside. "I don't think those would taste good."
"No.... But I need them so maybe they eat my hat instead." You nod to yourself in full serious before gasping slightly. "They should eat Legend's hat instead, then they'll really be sorry."
"Oh my god." Wild snorts and goes to cover his face before remembering that he's holding you.
He jostles' you in the process and the movement cause your headache to flare up. You whine and put a hand to your temple. "It hurts."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Wild frowns and puts the information away for later. "We'll get you back to camp and figure something out ok, maybe you should take it easy for a little bit."
"Link, you're so good to me. I don't deserve it."
"I think you do- I say you do and I'm going to tell Time to keep you down until you feel better."
"Noooo."
"Yeeesss."
"But you're always doing something for someone else, who's going to help you with dinner?" You complain and flop your arms around- regrettably because your head ache flares up once more. "Oh, ouch, ouchies..."
"I think I'll be fine." Wild rolls his eyes. "I've done it before I can do it again."
You hum sadly and shimmy your way into his arm to get more comfortable. "You're a good person. You're so smart. I love hanging out with you. You know that? You're so fun to be around and talk to and you're always so.... good."
Wild looks down on you momentarily before returning to the the forest ahead of him. "Thank you."
"I wish..." You start and cut yourself off. "I wish there was more I could do help you. You help so many people- I think there's someone in every stable in your Hyrule that you've helped... not to mention all of Hateno Village and like- you built Terry Town... It's so good-you're good. I wish more people were good."
"Are people not good?" Wild asks you as he walks through the green.
"I like to think that some are. I don't get to meet a lot of them." You admit and settle your head against his shoulder. "My home's not as nice as here."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"I'm going to miss you guys."
"We're going to miss you too." Wild replies automatically.
"I think I'll miss you most." You hum and close your eyes. "Good people should get good things and you didn't get a lot of good things... Someone should fix that. I want to fix that."
Wild doesn't respond.
Twilight
“Oh!” Twilight winces. “I should have warned you about those. Four told me they’d be in the area and that we’d have to avoid them. You ok?”
“I fell... in the bush.” You pout and begin to sag your shoulders. Guess they weren’t edible after all.
Seems like they’re quite bad actually.
“I’m sorry.” You sniffle and try ignore the tears beginning to pool in your eyes. “I didn’t mean too. I’m in trouble, aren’t I?”
“Well no, not exactly.” Twilight rushes to your side at the side and brushes off whatever leaves and twigs he can see from your clothes. “Does anything hurt?”
“A lot of things hurt Twi.”
“Can you be a little more specific?” He tries, with a small tilt to his head.
“My head... and I think there’s a lot of tiny cuts on my arms and back.” You try to stand again and Twilight is quick to help you with a stabilizing hand on the small of your back. “There’s more thorns in the bushes than I thought there’d be.”
“Ok, we’ll get those looked at ok. Four should have something to help you in the mean time.” Twilight takes a few steps with you, wrapping an arm over your shoulder when he realizes you’re more intoxicated than he thought.
You put your full weight against him without realizing it and place your head on his shoulder. “Twilight?”
“Yes?”
“I appreciate you so much.” You take a breath and sigh. “You’ve been the first person there to help me out with whatever this adventure seem to throw at me. You’re always taking care of others... like Wild and Wind and Legend and I know you look up to Time but so many of us are looking up to you too and I guess I want to say thank you. There’s a lot of good in your heart and I’m glad I get to see it.”
“I appreciate you too.” He says in reply.
“But I don’t do anything.”
“I’d beg to differ.”
“You’re too dignified to beg. I don’t think you’d ever have it in you.” You grin. “I admire the way you hold yourself and don’t let anyone talk down to you- like that guy in that old Castle Town- or where ever we were. And like, you can throw a good punch too. I thought you broke that guys jaw!”
“Admittedly... Not one of my greater moments.” Twilight hisses at the memory. Time gave him a nasty look for that one and he’s still working off the penalty for it.
“It was super cool though.” You cock your head to the side, looking at his profile as you stumble through the forest growth. “He totally deserved it, don’t let Time let you think otherwise. I was tempted to punch him too or get get Wild and let him go crazy against the guy.”
“Wild probably would have set him on fire.”
“It would have been funny.”
“No it wouldn’t have.”
“Not to the guy, maybe.” You giggle. “But see, you’re always thinking about others and how’d they react and how to go about things that makes you so smart and you’re so cool.”
“Thank you.” Twilight stops the two of you for a moment and readjusts his grip on you. “Are you feeling any better?”
“No. My head hurts.”
“Well, we’re almost there and then we can get started on fixing this ok?”
“Ok.” You mumble and go back to mostly resting against the country boy.
“You’re really great with animals too.” You say randomly. “I’ve never a horse that close with its rider or how all the cats just gravitate towards you.”
“The cat thing I’ll admit is special to me, but are you trying to tell me that the horses of your world aren’t treated right? Because they bond really well with humans and dogs alike.”
“Why dogs?”
“Uh-”
“Well everybody likes dogs, I guess that’s a given. It's not even a question really. I don't know why I asked.” You shrug.
“Yup. That’s what I meant.”
“And no, well I don’t know... I don’t see a lot of horses in my home world so maybe you’re right and I just have bad examples.”
“Of course I’m right.” Twilight says with a grin. “Horses are great!”
“You’re great Link.” You try to hide your laughter at how genuine and boyish he sounded. “I’d take you over a horse any day.”
“Well I’d hope so.”
Wind
"What is it?" Wind tilts his head and steps into your direction, trying to piece together what happened to you with what little information he has. "You look like you got in a fight... and lost."
"I fell the bush of these berries! Look!" You grin beyond the pain in your head and hold your hand out.
Wind walks up to you and picks one up between his fingers, twisting it around before looking back at you. "Are these safe to eat?"
"I have no idea." You answer honestly. "I was going to as Wild if he knew but then I fell in this bush and got hurt so I gotta go get myself checked out."
"Well that explains why your clothes are torn." Wind snorts a little and holds his hand out. "Do you need help?"
You hum and try to examine yourself from the inside. Your head is killing you but you feel loopey and uncentered.
Maybe some help would be nice.
"Yes, please." You take his hand and let him pull you up. "Thank you Link."
"No problem." He grins. "Can you get back to the camp on your own?"
You hum again and try to take a step forward. But your knee buckles from beneath you and you fall the ground again. "Ow."
"Ok, guess not." Wind is by your side within seconds and helps you back to your feet. "That's ok! I'll just help you get to the others and maybe someone will know how to fix you."
"Yay." You giggle and lean on the boy. "Have I ever told you how great you are?"
"No." Wind grins and starts to lead the way. "I don't think you have."
"That's a shame. Shame on me. Because you are one of the best kids I think I've ever met. Don't let anyone change you, ok? You are.... so fun to be around and I'm so glad I met you and I'm going to miss you when this is all over and I think I'm going to try-"
"You think you're going to cry?" Wind looks up at you.
"No no... maybe." You tilts your head and close your eyes, putting your full trust and weight on Wind's shoulders. "I just... you're so good. And you're so happy and excited to see all these new things and I wish I was like that when I was your age, you know?"
"Uh-"
"And I hope that you get to do and see so many amazing things, Link. You're going to change your world, I know it and I'm sad that I won't get to see it."
"Hey-"
"You can't let anyone bully you, ok? There's a lot of people that would want to break your spirit and your joy and there's a lot of things that we want to do to keep you the way you are but there's only so much we can shield you from. I know you don't like it. I know you think you can't take it. But you shouldn't have to. You should have never had to. You should have had a chance like all the other boys and girls to be young and have a childhood and just be a kid but I'm so proud of you." You say and stop the two of you for a moment, pulling Wind in what you try to be a crushing hug.
"You're incredible, you know that?" You lean back and put your hands on his shoulders. "Link, listen, no matter what any else will ever tell you, we adore you. I think you're everyone's favorite, ok? There's so many things I want to show you myself if the Captain would let me.... I doubt he will because there not exactly things kids your age should know. Like throwing knives and hand to hand combat... But I think we both agree that it's all waaaay past that point. So anything goes!"
"Will you really teach me?" Wind lights up at the thought and be jumps a little on his toes in excitement.
"If you're up for it.. I'm sure that others will try to fight me though."
"I'll fight them."
"I don't doubt that pirate."
"What are you two talking about?" Warrior steps up and places his hands on his hips. "We heard you talking but missed it. What is.... what happened to you?"
"I'm just telling Wind how amazing he is and how much I love him and adore him and how cool he is for a thirteen year old and how I couldn't even come close to that when I was his age so I'm a bit jealous-"
"They fell in some freaky looking berry bush and I think they're poisoned." Wind explains over you. "They're acting a little loopey."
"I am. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OK." You shout and push yourself away from Wind, staggering on your feet and eventually falling on your butt onto the forest floor.
The sudden movement flares up your headache and your neck muscles stiffen around your shoulders, making it hard to move your head. "Oh, ow.... My head... That was a mistake. Mistakes were made."
Warrior hisses and sigh after watching you suffer for a hot second. "Alright, I'll go wrangle up some supplies. Can you take them back to camp on your own, Sailor?"
"I was already doing that." Wind raises an eyebrow.
"Alright then, then go back to doing that." Warrior smirks a little. "I'll be back."
He then nods a bit and walks away from your duo as Wind makes his way over to where you fell, pulling you back to your feet and wrapping your arm over his shoulders. "Did you mean what you said?"
"What did I say?" You try to twist your head around to loosen up your muscle and it only slightly works.
"Well... everything you said about me. Did you mean it?"
"I don't remember." You frown and furrow your eyebrows. "Probably... If it's all good things, then yes. Because you are good. And you deserve good things. And you might be the little brother I never had... but I wish you were my brother. You're cool. You're great. I love hanging out with you man."
Wind smiles softly and sits you down on a free spot once you reach camp again. "I can be your brother, it's ok."
"Awesome!"
Sky
"And what exactly did you find?" Sky raises an eyebrow when he sees you. He recognizes the plant but can't remember what it does or why he's seen it before.
"Hm... I don't think that's good." He sighs and walks over to you, picking you up with a sturdy hands on your elbows. "Are you ok?"
"A lot of things hurt right now." You admit. "Are the berries not good?"
"Let's assume they aren't." Sky smiles a bit and wraps arm around your waist to keep you from falling. "I think you should get someone to look at you."
"You have really long eye lashes." You blurt out and gently bring your hand to cup his face. "And I've never noticed how blue your eyes are."
"Ok, those berries defiantly aren't good." Sky snorts and picks your hand off of his face. "Let's get you back to camp, ok?"
"You're like... one of the nicest people here, you know that?"
"Well I certainly try to be."
"And you're always thinking of others and you're so good." You lean against him, putting your full weight onto his side. "I'm so sorry that you have to be here instead of your home. You're so important to so many people Link."
"You think so?"
"I know so." You pat his head with what little arm you reach. "You're at the start of this whole thing... You are... the whole reason Hyrule, as everyone knows it, exists to begin with. It all starts with you. Not everyone has that kind of legacy you know."
"Is that really my legacy?" Sky looks over to you and you grin brightly in his direction.
"Well aside from the stories of the hero I've always heard so much about growing up there's also like the hero lineage as well. Not to mention you also father... the whole Hyrule Royal Family Line. So I'd say you're pretty important. and your legacy is pretty big."
Sky stops abruptly and the suddenness of it sends you right onto the ground. "I'm the start of the line?"
"OOOWWW!!! SKY!" You whine and cradle your head with both of your hands. "That hurt! Why did you do that?"
"Sorry sorry sorry." Sky bends down and helps you back up, readjusting his grip on you a few times to make sure that even if he loses his grip again, he won't be sent careening onto the floor. "That was an accident. I did not mean to do that."
"That was mean."
"It wasn't on purpose I swear."
"Promise?" You rolled your head over and rest it on his shoulder.
"Promise." Sky bite his lip to hold in his laughter. "I'd never do that to you on purpose, not like this."
"Ok. I believe you." You nod. "I think if you really wanted to hurt me, you would have sent your army of birds against me or something."
"I do not have an army of birds."
"But you're building one."
"No, I'm not."
"You are though. Maybe not on purpose... Maybe you don't realize it. You do know that birds flock to you right?" You blinks your eyes up at him. "It's a crazy thing to witness. I think you could easily rule to world with nothing but cuccos by your side."
"What is it with you guys and the cuccos? What did they ever do to you?"
"I can't speak for the others but I say with full certainty that my Zelda has a wicked streak sometime and she was mercilessly attacked by them one day."
"Oh my goodness"
"I told her to leave them alone but noooo, she had to keep hittin' the poor thing and look where it got her. Those little things are ruthless and should be feared. She won't touch them with a ten foot pole now." You nod your head to your story as if you were telling Sky some age old wisdom.
"Does that mean the others-?"
"Most likely." You snort. "Serves them right."
"That would explain that."
"Sky, I'm really glad I know you... as a person and as a friend. I think you're really talented and great and good and I'm so happy you're here."
"I'm glad I met you too." Sky grins and waves over someone from the camp to come help him.
"You're my favorite ok, don't tell the others." You wink in his direction and let yourself be taken away from his side.
"Oh jeeze, thanks." Twilight snorts and picks you up bridal style, taking you further into the camp and laying you down by the small fire they've started.
"I'll take that secret to my grave." Sky smirks.
Twilight huffs a little and stands to leave. "You can take care of them then."
"That was the plan."
"Sky is a brave boy." You mumble from where you've been placed and reach out to him. "He deserves better than watching over a sick sack of potatoes. He's good at helping people. Someone has to make sure that he doesn't push himself too hard. He'll over work himself and then there would no more Sky and the world will be to dark to recover. There's no way we can lose Sky. He's too good."
"Have they been like the whole time?"
"Pretty much." Sky shrugs.
"I think I'm going to throw up." You mumble and try to push yourself upright.
The boys then scramble to try and manage the approaching problem.
It's going to be a long night.
Legend
"Oh for the love of- you look like you took a swim through the underbrush. What did you do?" Legend groans and comes to stand in front of you.
"I went for a swim?" You blink up at him, confused and a little disoriented still. "Is that what happened? I'm not wet... Am I?"
"You're joking." Legend raises an eyebrow and and places the back of his hand against your forehead. "Ok, maybe not."
"I can not believe the legend himself has graced me with his presence." You giggle and try to stand- not very successfully. "What a joyous day indeed."
"What on earth are you talking about?" Legend kneels next to you and takes one of your arms, lifting it up and wrapping it around his shoulders. "You're acting weird... weirder than usual anyway."
"But I love you Legend!" You cry and wrap your other arm around him. It's a clumsy hug and Legend almost throws you off. But considering you can barely stand on your own feet with his support, he supposes some more wouldn't hurt.
If he likes it then he doesn't say anything.
"I think you love the idea of me." He grumbles. "I'm not that great."
"See, you say that but it's not true!" You grin and nuzzle your head against his. "You put on this big tough attitude and your defensive but you love us and we love you and I know you sometimes slip more food onto Wind's pate when he's still hungry but he won't go for seconds. Or how you sneak potions and healing items into our bags when we're not looking and I know you gave Hyrule some of those magic rings of yours to protect him. Or how you banter with Warrior because you try to keep his stress levels low because he gets flashback of the war and we all know he feels responsible for us even if he has no reason to be. You're quick to point out any puzzles that Four misses... magic eyes and all that."
"Have you been watching me?" He snaps and tries to make his embarrassment with anger.
"Yes, because I find you interesting and I've been wanting to get to know you better but you're one prickly pear." You poke his nose and try to keep walking. "You don't let me."
It's difficult.
"I know you've been watching what weapons Wild goes through and keep track of what he's been using the most, what he's most comfortable with... I think you want to get him something..."
"I'm an apprentice blacksmith... I want to see if there's something that will survive that wild rat." He grumbles.
"Ooohh!! Even better! you want to make him something!"
"I hope your fever erases this from your memory... Make it into one big fever dream."
You laugh and try to hide the grimace from your pounding head. "I know you've helped Twilight with something- he seems a little lighter but I don't know what. And I know you've been watching how much sleep the Old Man gets and I know you've been helping him with it. I know you're watching how much Sky has been fighting and how much he travels and you're quick watch his health and his breathing problems."
"Should I be concerned that you've been watching me this much? Because if it were any other person I'd be fighting you and getting a restraining order. It's weird." Legend huffs and hoists you up a little more, trying to keep you from falling.
"You help so many people." You hiccup and groan, the pain in your head becoming a little more than you can hide. "You're always watching everybody else's back. You don't watch your own."
"Who says that?"
"You take care of everyone else but yourself." You whine and hide your face against his shoulder. "But I've been watching your back. It's ok. I know you wouldn't like it but I care about you too much to let you hurt yourself. Someone has to take care of you if you won't do it yourself."
"I can take care of myself!"
"But you don't."
"Hey!"
"MMmm... Don't yell please." You wince and grip his tunic tighter.
Legend stops for a moment and finally looks at your face. It's flushed completely red and you're beginning to have sweat roll down the side of your head. Legend bites his lip and hides the pause behind the pretend need to adjust his grip.
He can't tell if you've gotten better or worse but he's going to bet worse.
"I'll go get Time. Maybe we can figure how to fix this, ok?" Legend gulps a little and returns to dragging you across the forest.
"Ok."
"The things I do for you people."
"You're a good person."
"Hm."
"Link?"
"What?"
"Thank you." You mumble, right into his ear. "We don't say it often but thank you."
Legend feel the tips of his ears go a little pink and he scoffs. "Don't thank me for anything. I didn't do anything."
"You're a good person."
"I'll chock this up to the fever talking."
Hyrule
Hyrule hisses sharply and can already feel the ominous foreshadowing of the hours to come. "Did you get in a fight? Are you hurt? You're bleeding, that's a dumb question, don't answer that."
"Rule!" You reach your hand out. "Best booooy!!! Hello sweet heart, how are you?"
"What happened to you?" He kneels down beside you and begins to heal the miniscule cuts around your arms and your back. He can feel the magic go down your legs and heal what was torn there and come back up to work on the worst of it.
It's a little more damage that he'd like to admit out loud and he's a little worried that there's monsters nearby that would have caught the scent of your blood.
"I fell in the bush... trying to get berries to eat... I was supposed to find food for Wild to cook but I don't think I can do that any more. It's not good that there's not much to forage." You mumble, relaxed by the suddenness of your pain being relieved and the cuts you've sustained leaving your body.
Hyrule frowns and stops his spell. It's a shame he can't do anything about your clothes.
"I feel funny." You say and lean backwards, over judging the distance and force and nearly send yourself back into the bush behind you.
Hyrule snatches your tunic before you can do that and pulls you toward him. "Be careful... Did the bush do this?"
"I dunno." You shrug and frown as you feel the pain begin to come back. "Are you here to bring me back?"
"I might have to regardless. I think you've been poisoned by the plants."
"I feel funny, not dead."
"Well, let's hope that it doesn't come to that." Hyrule rolls his eyes and wraps your arm around his shoulders. "Come on. We need to get you checked out and see if there's anyway to help you."
He's trying to stay calm... but he hopes that it's mostly you being loopey and not actually in any danger. He doesn't recognize the plant- but he supposes that's a given since it's not his Hyrule and he doesn't know the scale of the dangers around here.
"I have a headache again." You groan and don't even try to help Hyrule in lifting you up.
"I... can't really do anything about that. Sorry." Hyrule sighs and readjusts his grip to lift you higher.
This time you do put a little more effort in standing up and slowly, you begin to make your way back to the camp.
"I'm sorry you have to deal with me right now." You mumble and lean against him. "There's so many others things you could be doing right now."
"I don't mind. I'd rather you be ok than do anything else."
"You're a good person." You roll your head back and look at his side profile. "I hope you get every good thing the universe has to offer Link. May your life be filled with peace and happiness and all sorts of good things."
"Like what?" Hyrule finds himself asking. It stuns him and for a moment and he wonders if he's asking because he doubts he'll have it or if it's merely to get you to elaborate more.
"Like many friends and family and holidays and puppies and kitties and candy and good food and good company and cupcakes and lemonade-" You begin to list off.
Hyrule looks back on his life and the people he's met and everything that's happened to him up until this very moment. Enough so that he ignores the rest of your list and only tunes back in when you've past onto a slightly different topic.
"There's so many little things to enjoy in life, you know. I know you're humble and underestimate yourself and I'm trying to change that because you're absolutely amazing and there's a lot you should be proud and show off a little more because you deserve it but I wish you'd let us show you that. " You roll your head around again and try to match your footsteps to his despite the fog in your brain.
You keep talking.
"It might be presumptuous to say this but I think this group may have been the best thing to have happened to you. And that makes me a little sad."
Hyrule stumbles a little and you follow suit. "Sorry, sorry."
"It's ok. You'd never hurt anyone unless they deserved it." You mumble and try to fight against the now pounding sensation in your head.
"Hurting?"
"Yeah... My headache got worse."
"I'm sorry."
"You apologize too much." You groan. "I can't wait to see the day where you do something completely outrageous and just own it, just unapologetically decide that this is the hill you're going to die on and fight every one else about it."
"That sounds like a lot of effort." Hyrule snorts and raises an eyebrow.
"I can't to see what is the stick that takes you there."
"I don't think that's how the saying goes."
"It is now. I said so."
"Of course. Naturally." Hyrule snorts.
"Link, we're friends right?"
Hyrule nearly stumbles again but catches himself this time. "Of course we are! Whatever made you think otherwise?"
"Nothing." You admit. "But I'd to be the kind of person that's on the list of good things your life. Like that list I was talking about earlier."
"I say you are." Hyrule nods to himself and sees the camp in the distance. Relief flows over him and he nearly sags from it. A smiles graces his face as he turns to you and lets you lean on him a little more. "And I'd die on that hill."
Four
"Oh no no no no no, not good, not good at all!" Four hisses and runs to your side. "Did you eat any? Please tell me you didn't."
"Are they not good?" You tilts your head and try to keep your vision on Four but it's kind of hard to focus on just one of him. You don't remember there being so many Fours.
"No! You're not supposed to eat them! They're highly toxic!" Four grips your shoulders and begins to look over your face and check your eyes.
"Did you eat any?" He asks again, stressing the question more than you think is necessary.
You shake your head.
"Oh thank Hylia."
"I feel in the bush though."
Four groans enough that it sound more like a subdued scream. "Why?"
"I tripped." You giggle and try to stand up. "I heard my name AND FELL~! Hehehehe.."
"Ok. This..." Four sighs and looks around your surroundings for a second. He doesn't find what he's looking for. "...is not ideal."
" 'm sorry." You say and feel your lip start to wobble a little bit. "I didn't mean too."
"No. It's my Hyrule. I should have warned you guys. This is my fault." Four scoots in your direction and wraps his arms under your knees and behind your back.
He effortlessly lifts you up bridal style and doesn't hesitate to begin carrying you back to camp. "Time is going to have my head for this."
"No, he likes you too much." You blinks away what you can and try to think beyond the simple thoughts in front of you. "Everyone likes you. you're a likable person."
"Well thank you, but believe me. There are people who don't me." Four says with a snicker.
"Who are they? I'll fight them. Just say their names."
"You don't know them." Four furrows his eyebrows and chuckles disbelievingly.
"I can find them. And then I'll fight them. How dare they not like you!" You shout to the sky and wave your arm around like it's nobody's business. "You're one of the coolest people I know! That I've ever met! And I've met a lot of people! I've met this group! And you're still the coolest! Tell me their names, Link. I won't stand for this."
"It's not a big deal."
"I'm about to make it one."
"I won't tell you their names." Four shakes his head. Mostly because they're gone already so who cares.
"Then point your fingers Smithy because I'll find them and you won't have to worry about them any more." You say with so much resolution in your voice that Four has to stop himself from laughing out loud.
"Believe me, I don't worry about them."
"Oh so someone else got to them then. Good good."
He loses and laughs anyway. "No, not like that."
"There should be only people who love Link! Link haters are not allowed or welcome! Begone with those thoughts!" You cling to him weakly and Four has to grip you tighter to compensate for your flailing.
"Hold still, you're making this harder than it needs to be." Four snorts and shakes his head. "I deserve this. I deserve this and everything that's about to come. I know it. This is completely my fault."
"It's not your fault my head's hurting." You argue and frown. Because it's true. Your head ache tat you've been sporting since the start of your conversation has grown and it's beginning to be impossible to ignore.
"It kind of is, considering that it's a byproduct of the brumble bush." Four sighs. "Luckily, the antidote is pretty easy to make. The down side is that I'm not sure if I have all the ingredients and we're a little too far away from town to get more. I wonder if Hyrule can do something with his magic to help out... or at least lessen the effects so that it wears off."
"Will it last long?" You mumble and cradle your head in your hand. "I don't like this, Link."
"I don't like this either." He says. "If you didn't eat any of it than you should be fine in a few hours and it'll wear off on it's own but I don't think you want to be like this any longer than you have to be."
"Man, Link you're so smart. You know so much." You sigh and rest what you canon his shoulder. "I'm so glad I'm your friend... that we're friends and I want to keep being your friend. Can we keep being friends? Is it possible to be friends throughout different lifetimes?"
"I don't know but we can certainly try." Four grins and makes it back to camp a little easier now that you're so riled up. "I'm glad we're friends too."
"Yay!" You giggle and lay on the ground with little fan fair and with little convincing. "There's no much we have to do still... as friends and as a group. I love you guys!"
"And we love you!" Four snorts. "Get some sleep- it'll go faster. I'll wake you up when I have the antidote."
"Ok Smithy." You let your head hit the ground and close your eyes.
Four looked over his shoulder to where you are and smiles a little wistfully.
Until Time make his way to camp and eyes your torn and slightly bloody clothes before turning to Four with a raised eyebrow.
Four hisses again and raises his hand. "I can explain."
"You better."

Could you do the reader maybe not having a father figure so time steps?
Masterlist
As someone who didn't grow up with a dad, I can relate. Don't mind if I start projecting.
Content under the cut!
You were dreaming- you had to be. There was no other way for this to be possible. You had defeated the evil. Why was this happening? Your home- Your family- Your people-
They were dead.
They were dead.
They were dead.
You failed them.
You failed them.
You failed them.
Blood.
So much blood.
On your hands- legs- face- torso.
Climbing higher- higher- and higher still.
It up to your knees, your hips, your chest, your neck.
You can’t hold on for much longer. You won’t be able to breath soon. You’re just going to have to swim through it.
You tilt your head back and take a breath.
You wake up.
Your heart was pounding and you tried to hold it in place, clenching your shirt with an iron like grip.
Where are you?
What’s happening?
Your breath was coming out in painful gasps and you felt as if your very throat was constricting.
You couldn’t get enough oxygen.
You can’t-
You can’t breath!
“Easy, easy.” Time crouches next to you and cups your face to bring it to face him. “Breath with me ok? Nice and slow. Deep breath until I reach four. One. Two. Three. Four.”
You try to do what he says but you’re struggling.
It was hard to stay tethered to the present- the mental images of your family members and other loved ones drowning in a flood of their own blood- yourself soon to join them.
“You’re ok.” Time says. “I’m here. You’re safe. You’re not alone.”
You reach up with both hands to grab Time’s wrist as he holds your head up. He has you hold your breath for another count of four and counts you down as you release your breath.
He repeats this process with you for a while, never once letting you go or letting you focus on anything other than him in this moment, breathing with you. He gets closer still. Time drops to his knees and brushes the hair away from your face.
He keeps going until you’ve calmed down.
You’re heart is no longer threatening to burst from your chest and you’re mind is a little clearer to remember where you are at least and what happened the day prior.
“Time?” You croak and grip his wrists a bit harder.
The images don’t leave your mind though and the thought of failure- of losing everything causes you to stop breathing.
You bite your lip in an attempt to keep all sounds inside and you look down, unable to meet Time in his eyes. You squeeze your eyes shut and tense up considerably as you begin to cry.
Time lets out a sound of of concern and you feel him pull you close. His arms wrap around you comfortably and squeezes you in a hug, putting your head as close as he can get to his collar bone. He shifts himself around as well to sit properly on the ground this time and pulls you closer into his lap.
You adjust yourself accordingly and wrap your arms around his neck, letting yourself cry silently against him.
After a minute or two begin to feel yourself be rocked back and forth as Time begins to quietly hum a little tune right by your ear.
You don’t recognize it and you try to figure out if you may have heard it before or if it would have any significance to you.
It’s a nice distraction.
And Time admittedly has a nice voice even if he’s not singing anything out loud.
You try to breath the same way he showed you earlier, not wanting to have this go any further and accidently wake one of the boys up with your middle of the night fear fest.
Between the breathing exercises, Time’s humming and the smooth and fluid motion of being rocked back and forth- you feel like a little kid again.  You never had a dad but you can imagine yourself being five or six being held after a nightmare.
You manage to calm yourself down and stop crying, but you don’t let go of Time.
Time doesn’t let go of you either, nor does he stop rocking you or humming.
You take a deep breath to compensate for the lack of even breathing for the past hour or so and rest yourself against the man, letting yourself relax completely in his hold.
It’s nice.
You feel safe.
You feel protected.
Time is nice.
He’ll watch over you and defeat the monsters so you don’t have to because he’s a protector and a hero and you know he looks after all of your as if you were his own. He’s the head of this family- the father of this unit.
You don’t notice the path your thoughts have taken, having been put through the wringer emotionally and mentally, and say them out loud.
“Thanks Dad, love you.”
And you fall back asleep.

Good morning! Really quick- I just noticed like 9 of your posts have been tagged with "linked unierse" instead of linked universe, just so you're aware :]
Good morning.
Thank you for telling me, I've already fixed like three... but I have no idea which ones would be the others unless I dig through all my posts so far....
I'll keep a look out though.
