I absolutely adore Tang River Water au!

I really like the idea that Tang accidentally drank water from this river and became pregnant just out of carelessness. It's too hilarious. An even funnier thing was that now their child is the rebirth of jade emperor. They can never have a break. Poor guys.

But for some reason it became very interesting to me what type of Tang will be during pregnancy? Will it be easy or will he be terribly emotional? Or something else, I would really look at it. I also think that he would really not like that when he tried to eat his husband's food, and then he started to feel sick just from the smell. He would definitely look at his stomach with anger and disappointment "you. traitor". And he would absolutely ask Pigsy to hold his belly in the later months of pregnancy.

I also really wonder how they would behave with their daughter. I know they love her, but I'm sure they're absolutely scared and DON't know what to do. I just want to know what they're planning to do. Will they overprotect her because she is the rebirth of the most powerful being in all of heaven? Or will they hide it? Maybe they will ask for help from heaven?

Tang was just so thirsty after being in the desert (I believe is meant to be the Gobi) that he just leaps into the first water source he can find. Pigsy yells after him but Tang's already gulped down the yucky muddy stream water before Pigsy reminds him that there's a water purifier in the TEA. By then, the remnants of the Mother-Child River had already begun the process.

After his body adapts to the major magically-induced change, Tang ends up using his condition to get out of work/to get pampered on. Emotionally he's ok, just a little more worried than usual. And Pigsy is such an adoring spouse that Tang's symptoms rarely go unattended. Lots of cuddles and tummy rubs in the later months.

Ankles swell: "Oh Piggy~ My feet hurt." Morning Sickness: "I need tea and kisses!" Cravings: (Tang: "I require oranges, bao buns, ramune soda, takoyaki sauce-" Pigsy: "How about I leave you inside the Speedy Panda with 500 yuan and I close my eyes while you go shop?" Tang: "I love you so much piggy.") Smells: "MK you stink. Take a shower or I will literally barf." Painful Kicking: "Cuddle time." >:3

And if the *cicada* part of the Golden Cicada is acting up; he gets into carving/whittling - cicadas etch tree bark to lay their eggs. Pigsy now has many tables in the restaurant defaced with Tang's "masterpieces".

And I absolutely hit Tang with what (he believes) is the worst symptom on Earth; Food aversion. Specifically towards NOODLE SOUP. His husband's own cooking! He's distraught! Something about the combination of broth and noodles makes his stomach turn! Broth and noodles separate? Ok. Together? Instant morning sickness. He suspects its something to do with the texture of the noodles when their soggy.

Wukong: "Maybe your brain thinks its worms." Tang: *turns green and retches*

Pigsy goes out of his way to prepare dishes for Tang that don't set off his nausea, even if it means altering his traditional methods.

Pigsy: "Ok, I've been experimenting with a new dish for a while and I want your opinion." Tang, delighted: "Ooo hoho! You know I'll always be your taste tester, Piggy." Pigsy: *presents the elements of his noodle recipe* Tang: "Huh?" Pigsy: "You seemed really sad to not eat noodle soup, so I made a dry version so that you can still enjoy the flavours. The broth is on the side so you can drink it. The guy from the somen restaurant gave me some pointers." Tang, getting emotional: "You... you changed your recipe for me!?" Pigsy, grabbing Tang's hands: "Our family recipe, Tangy. That includes you and our little critic." Tang: *bursts out sobbing and shovels the dry noodle fixings into his mouth*

The baby - "Bao/宝/treasure or bundle" (also bao buns were one of Pigsy's cooking Tang could eat) - ultimately looks similar to a baby orc from Dungeon Meshi. A mostly chubby human baby with pig features. She has a puff of Tang's dark hair that becomes little black stripes on her back like a wild piglet.

What the baby takes after Pigsy in appearance, she takes from Tang in greediness. Before she's even off milk she'll try taking bites of other people's food. She's bold and confident, hilarious to anyone seeing a tiny piglet chasing Celestial soldiers like she's her own army.

And of course theres the issue of Bao being the reincarnation of one of the oldest and most powerful deities in taoism...

Pigsy and Tang are def the overprotective types, not so much for Bao being a powerful baby, but because every immortal seems to forget that she's still an uber-fragile preemie. Her health wasn't great when she was born (worsened by the circumstances around the birth). The freenoodles parents atleast have experience raising the little chaos monkey that was MK - the only difference being that Bao can't climb so good. Though she does seem to have control over the weather for some reason.

The Celestial Realm has to catch on quickly that she isn't the Jade Emperor anymore - she gets kidnapped atleast once by Heaven's officials needing the Emperor to approve paperwork. Bao screamed and grunted, rampaging around the imperial Palace the whole time.

The Queen Mother is saddened but adoring - her husband truly has passed on, but this little angel is a wonderful new beginning for him. She hopes to reunite in a later life.

Demons in general are pretty hopeful of Bao''s existance. Now that the Jade Emperor has been reborn on one of their kind - perhaps demonkind will be elevated once more? They'll have to wait until she's out of diapers before they start placing bets.

Princess Iron Fan's immediate reaction (after dealing with the shock of losing her estranged father) is to burst out; "HAH!" at the irony. Her father disapproved of her marriage to the Demon Bull King for his race - only to be reborn as a pig demon! The coincidence is hilarious! The Demon Bull fam does visit the baby girl to send their blessings, and offer advice based on how chaotic little Red was as a calf. Bao adores her giant uncle Bull since he's fluffy and big and smells like her baba when he cooks. She also gets super attached to Red Son for similar reasons - though Tang suspects it's because she smells grilled meat on him.

MK adores Bao, and will kill everything in the three Realms if anything happened to her. Bao in turn loves her big bro - even if she bites him and steals his food.

So, I don't know if you know this, but Clifford the Big Red Dog was an absurdly small puppy before growing to be the size of a house. So I was thinking, what if the same thing happened with Yuebei? At first she's a tiny baby, the runt of the lunar nodelets, but then. She just keeps growing.

And growing.

And GROWING.

And by the time she's a teenager she's already taller than all of her brothers??? All the while, Wukong loudly quietly laments the days she fit in the palm of his hand.

Yuebei being born tiny by monkey yao standards. It's so obvious, especially when compared to how big MK, Rumble & Savage, and even her fellow Nodelet brothers Jidu and Luohuo when they were born/created.

Wukong is super nervous, cus why is his baby so small?! Did he do something wrong?

No not really. In the Slow Boiled Au I cn almost imagine its a bit like in Steven Universe when a gem is "overcooked", they spend a little too long being made and they come out all compact.

Yuebei stays the "little princess" of Flower Fruit Mountain for a long time... until she reaches toddlerhood and her growth spurt kicks in, and soon by puberty she's taller than MK (who's already taller than Wukong and Mac).

Wukong and Macaque are super proud of their giant daughter.

If this is Mother-Child mixed with Slow Boiled, imagine how Bao and Yubei would interact. These two would be complete chaos gremlins in the worst way, the reincarnated Jade Emperor and the Monkey King's daughter growing up as cousins/siblings!? And Wukong is all for it, although he will admit he's only slightly nervous about the fact that this is essentially the same soul that once did so many horrible things to him. He's trying, okay!? It's just hard to see the Jade Emperor (or is it Emperess now) as a baby and not be nervous about what she may or may not inherit from her past life.

BESTIES

Yuebei and Bao are close from the moment they meet - after Yuebei got home/rescued from the Brotherhood, Bao had just been born and needed a lot of attention. Yuebei seemed to not want to leave her "fellow baby monkey" alone and would sneak into Bao's crib to cuddle her. Tang and Wukong cried the first time they saw this happen.

When the little former-Jade-Emperor grows up, she's barely taller than her baba Pigsy. Something made more obvious by her bff and her big brother being super tall.

Wukong and Macaque are a bit nervous about Bao's soul being that of someone that hurt them so much, but then again Yuebei is holding the soul of LBD - someone who caused them nearly equal amount of pain. Wukong is happy to be one of Bao's fave uncles for the forseeable future - its kinda hard to be scared of her when she's shaped like a football and snorts in her sleep.

Whilst Bao is unlikely to be addressed as "The Jade Emperor" - the Queen Mother has taken over her husband's role and is busy trying to decide an heir - Bao does get referred to as a Prince/Princess by many a confused celestial.

With her birth parent being the Golden Cicada, Bao is often jokingly nicknamed "The Golden Princess/Empress".

Pigsy has no intention on letting any of that "imperial nonsense" in his house. Bao is getting as normal a childhood as they can provide. Tang still flaunts his and his baby girl's title when he thinks it might benefit them though - especially if it leads to free food.

Bao recieves hundreds of marriage arrangement proposals before she even knows how to walk - Pigsy burns them.

She recieves her first assassination attempt at age four - MK goes feral dealing with it. Later attempts have to get past the whole family of stone monkey demons.

Its hard to contact the Jade Emperor when his soul is currently inside a piglet smashing toy trains together.

[Someone jokes that Macaque has developed a mega beer belly and Mac just starts crying cus of hormones. Someone gets punched.]

Was it one of the other SWKs XD ? Either them or Hunstman.

But how would the others (fam and dimensional) react to discovering this particular baby is the reincarnation of the demon that was really close to destroying the world and remaking it in her image? Like, the double take has to be legendary.

Oh it was def Huntsman who made the "beer belly" comment. He has no filter. SWK was the one who punched him, cus of shared hormones with Mac. Then the other spiders smack Huntsy on the back of the head for good measure. Sandy has to physically lift his mans out of there before they try returning him to Diyu with the receipt. Huntsman apologized via hand-woven silk baby blankets.

Whilst the parents knew from the beginning that LBD has reincarnated into their daughter (they were there obs), most of the fam hear about "Yuebei = Reincarnated LBD" from gossip or hearsay. Also the Mayor equally has no filter - he walks straight up to Macaque with an armful of baby shower gifts and waves at his stomach like; "Hello, my lady! Enjoying your new accommodations?". The friends and fam present are like "Lol what?" and SWK and Mac just decide to spill the beans.

The adults are initally freaked out ("So are we talking... fresh slate? Or is she gonna come out with the creepy whispering and bone mechs?"), but once it becomes clear that Yuebei won't have the memories or mind of her previous incarnation, the adults all sigh and just chalk it up to weird reincarnation nonsense. Pigsy expresses how he feels sorry for the kid, as he too reincarnated from a jerk (Zhu Bajie).

The kids freak out a little more. You know already how badly MK and Bai He takes the situation. Nezha ends up being the voice of reason; pointing out tha he himself is a demonic reincarnation and he can't remember squat about who his soul used to inhabit. It takes the kids a lot longer to be cool with the "Baby sister might be the Devil" situation.

As for the Wukongverse? It's a mixed bag. Under read more for spoilers

LMK Shadowpeach: *explaining what happened when they went to Diyu to sort out unrelated undead stuff* LMK!Mac: "So yeah, our unborn daughter is the reincarnation of the Bone Demon that tried to destroy all of the Mortal Realm and remake it in her image." The rest of the SWKs and LEMs: O_O? x_O? HeroIsBack!SWK: "How did that happen??? I thought reincarnation was completely random." LMK!SWK, eating peach chips: "We were planning on more kids. What remained of LBD's soul was sorta hanging around the bridge in Diyu. The gods laughed. Simple really." NewGods!SWK: "And here I thought gods getting reborn as mortals was irony." Reborn!SWK: "I pray that your enemy will be born knowing that they will be loved in this lifetime." LMK!Mac, tearing up: "Aww... thats actually really sweet of you to say-" 2000sCartoon!SWK, interupting: "Because if they turn out to be evil, we wont hesistate to bury them!" :3 LMK!Shadowpeach: *hormonal crying. The other monkeys jump to comfort them* HeroIsBack!LEM, comforting his LMK counterpart: "Annnd you ruined the moment Ganzhe." 2000sCartoon!SWK: "But it's true! We all thought it!" Netflix!SWK: "You don't say it to the parents!" Netflix!LEM: "I think it'd be hilarious if the kid turned out like her old self. Like the 10 Kings saying She's your problem now." NewGods!LEM: "Don't be so sure about that. We don't know what the Bone Demon was like as a kid. Could have been stuff she saw as an adult that messed her up. Either way it's gonna be hard for her to be a villain when she can't even stay awake for more that two hours." Smash SWK & LEM: *weren't even paying attention, they blanked out after the pregnancy talk started* "Wait... whats this about a ghost baby?" "I think one of their kids is like... a shiny pokemon or something" Meihouwang SWK & LEM: *were paying attention, but are very confused* "???"

Something just popped into my mind and I'm going to share it because why not;

Akino: ".. bama, what were your pet names with mama when you guys were younger?"

Xci Nicco and Hua Jiao just freeze. The elders don't know why, but it's actually because Xci Nicco and Hua Jiao used to call each other degrading nicknames in the past. Only Macaque and MK know this, it cracks them up a ton.

Also, when I mentioned Xci Nicco screaming "YA-MA!" In her Filipino accent, the great-grandparent and the grandparents thought she mispronounced King Yama's name. Turns out she just screamed a censored word of the word "yawa".. it means "f^ck" by the way 💁

The shapeshifter duo try their best to remember the most PG insults they called eachother like;

Xci Nicco: "I uh... called your bama cheese-boy a lot cus of his melty hair." Hua Jiao: "And I called mama hot wings cus I wasn't very creative." Akino: "Oh... does that make us buffalo wings then?" *silly grin* Shapeshifter duo: *both crack up at her attempt of a pun* Macaque, listening in from far away: "Ha! Buffalo wings." MK, picking up the tone: "Is little Akino making jokes again?" Macaque: "Yes and thankfully her parents haven't told her any of the petnames that get censored." MK: "Ah yes. The Seven Pet Names You Can't Say in Group Chat. I know them well."

The non-filipino speakers appriciate Xci Nicco's attempt at self-censorship with "Ya-ma!". Though a few times SWK and MK jumped thinking that the King of Hell was visiting. XD

Spicynoodles Baby 7 also looks like Iron Fan, close enough in age to Tieman that people assume that they're twins, except his resemblance is more...well...

He looks like Tang, basically.

Nobody is sure how or why, since Tang isn't biologically related to Xiaotian, but Tang is just delighted.

Spicynoodles baby #7 inherited Red Son's eyesight, so he had to get glasses early on. Combined with short black hair, a lack of bull features, and add in the Demon Bull red clothing; the resemblance to a certain bespectacled scholar is uncanny.

Tang: "May I suggest Xiaotang as a name?" :3 MK & Red: "No."

They decide only after much begging to let Tang name this one. Tang didn't think he'd get this far and decides on Yinghuo/萤火.

Red: "...Firefly?" Tang: "Sorry I panicked. Started thinking about bugs." *nervous cicada noise* Spicynoodles Baby #7: *mimics cicada noise while making eyes glow* All present: "...." MK: "I think he likes it!"

Little Yinghuo is ofc Tang's favorite. Little guy clings to his grand-pama like baby monkeys do. Falls sound asleep listening to Tang ramble about chinese folklore and mythology. Not even Pigsy yelling across the restaurant can wake the little firefly up.

His fire powers are very weak, and currently only manifests as little floating light orbs that he leaves like breadcrumbs around the palace. They rarely run hot enough to catch fire. Has a bad habit of collecting live bugs and bringing them inside to show his parents.

...Baby 6 looking like Iron Fan did as a baby, to counteract the angst. Nobody noticed until #6, the apple of her family's eye as the baby and only single so far, started walking and talking...and DBK noticed first.

He finds the few baby pictures of Iron Fan they managed to grab and confirms it:

Iron Fan's youngest granddaughter is an eerie but adorable twin.

Spicynoodles Baby #6 comes out looking like someone drew Iron Fan from memory.

Was an only birth (much to everyone's relief) and was "the baby" for quite a while.

Almost want to name her something like; Tiemian/铁面 (iron mask) because she's "wearing Zumu Iron Fan's face!".

Black hair. Mole on her upper cheek. Dark brown eyes. No obvious bull traits besides a cute little cow tail and a headbutting habit - they suspect her older brother Zishan taught her that. Monkey traits are also very subtle, only her grabby feet are noticeably non-human. By all accounts could pass as a human celestial. It's a little jarring to see Tiemian next to her parents and siblings since she takes so much after her grandmother.

Iron Fan manages to find a really old painting/photo of herself as a baby for comparision, and the similarities are stunning. Even the chubby cheeks and the way Tiemian sits.

And since she adores her Zumu; the Spicynoodle family are quick to notice Tiemian copying the way Iron Fan walks and holds herself. Tiemian even starts babbling in a low voice reminiscent of PIF's authoritative tone. DBK think its the most adorable thing ever. She's practically Iron Fan's little shadow, following her room to room in her own flowing red dress. PIF is flattered, but also a little wistful. Tiemian is like a baby girl PIF and DBK dreamed of having centuries ago.

Then her horns come in early and she starts "teething" on everything and everyone in sight by violently rubbing her head against it. Then family members become wary of the little princess hiding behind their legs.
