40 hours in AC Odyssey. I really like it! I appreciate the levity of it compared to past AC games. I laughed many times so far! Kass has a very unique personality, and I'm a big fan of switching it up from the brooding protagonist AC is long known for, with very few exceptions.

It's a beautiful game, and I love the armor. The helmets are *chef's kiss* tbh! The world building is top tier.

I LOOOOVE IKAROS!

The naval stuff brings me back so hard to AC IV: Black Flag. And to be honest, the whole game sort of gives me Black Flag vibes.

Fighting mechanics took me a while but I am muuuuch better now. I'm not as good with the mechanics as I am with Valhalla (I mean.... I've played it 8 times) but I have moments where things flow really smoothly. And I am enjoying the stealth quite a bit? I'm not sure what anyone is talking about with stealth in this game. It's fine?

I also am not turned off by the heavy Isu stuff as that's something I really enjoy. And I see it for what it is: Setting the foundation for AC lore in its totality. I'm not a huuuuuge fan of what Kassandra ends up being used for based in Valhalla and Mirage (ok I hate it actually) but I get what the game was trying to do for the rest of the franchise so far.

Story wise, I will be 100% honest and say I am not as into it as Origins and Valhalla. It took me about 30 hours to feel a similar level of emotional investment. Because of that, it is a top 10 game for me. Not top 5, but given how much I am enjoying it now? I am betting it will stay at least top 10 by completion of the main story. It may even move up.

I also love Kass as a protagonist and think she is among the better of AC protagonists, period. Her purpose is not to be the cookie cutter assassin. But again....she sets the foundation for all other protagonists after her, and I can get behind her being that person. It makes sense that the hidden ones foundational narrative came later. And her sass, charm and badassery are a breath of fresh air for the franchise.

Odyssey review so far: 8/10

Ranking in my top games: Between 7 and 10 of my top 10.

How am I feeling about the ancient trilogy? Trilogy is GREAT and I will never be convinced otherwise.

Odyssey might move up as I play more, too!

Dove is still very much the same as she was back when I first made her just edited a bit for the new story she’s a part of. Met Tucker in an orphanage; when they were old enough moved in together, Tucker still finds Eclipsa’s egg and Dove convinces him to keep them. Only now Tucker is a teacher at a local collage the same collage that Dove is taking classes at (she kept changing her major half way through pls help her lmaoo)

Eyn also goes to this collage! Eyn is a little fucker who was raised in a very infamous crime family. They have a lot of bad rumors around town about them. A good lot of them are true just blown out of proportion. They also work as a stripper on the side. He doesn’t wanna rely on his family’s money for much longer than he has to but BRUH collage is expensive lmao he also has an older brother who’s unnamed and under developed but I do know they don’t get along. Eyn has some other friends like Mallow and Muse and Zola!! (They’re all also friends with Dove and Tucker owo)
