ok nvm with the two other ideas i had... im still thinking tho so dont take my word for it QUITE YET

bubble radiant's is probably gonna either be sparkle or iris. leaning towards the latter

she's a genetic clone of one of the first known radiants from the first light, who died after overexposure and overexertion of her own powers. (aka creation of bubbles that break the laws of reality of what they encompass) she was created by some unsanctioned team of scientists from kingdom, but kingdom themselves arent directly involved in this.

most of her childhood and into early adolescence was spent in a lab environment. the fact that there were no other iterations of her shows that this was probably an arduous process and that all other instances basically failed. her scientist-caretaker grew fond of her (despite being warned to not grow an attachment to the subject) and sought to free her into the world to have a proper life. however, when this effort was discovered, things went haywire

in a last ditch effort, the caretaker exposed iris to her own powers, trapping her inside a bubble dome where she would live a life in a reality that wasn't her own. he only hoped that someday, someone would find her and give her a proper life where she wouldn't be confined to a lab. he died in the lab's collapsing

iris's bubble dome slowly expanded over the years as she grew older, and she lived a farce life with an idealized self. some people lived in her world, but those were merely illusions caused by the bubble overtaking the ruined lab and essentially taking the image of the deceased scientists within. this also included iris's caretaker

VP is called to the phenomena as the dome started becoming a threat, almost reaching an area of population. there were reports of a few people trying to enter it (likely those from kingdom sent to investigate), only to never come back out. VP discovers that only its radiant agents are able to safely traverse inside without being affected, and they manage to dismantle the illusion and rescue Iris-- who is left gravely distraught at the truth and what's actually been happening in the real world

ik she does eventually join the VP, the only way she'll find herself having a purpose because she literally has like. nowhere else to go. Cypher attempts to trace the radiant girl's origins, but there is 0 answer bc she didn't have a name to begin with. however, he does pull up the existence of her genetic predecessor and realizes she's who she was based on. bubble girl decides to take on her predecessor's name and eventually gains her callsign, Iris.

sorry if this sounds all wacky rn, its a braindump anyways. Iris is also supposed to have a bit of a deceitful design bc she looks all cutesy and well-dressed, but then you hear about her lore LMAO. hell even the playlist i have for her is all (: :D music DFVJNKKJNDSF. the image she takes in the real world is the one of her idealized self, so in a way its like. a coping mechanism over the fact that she was living an entire lie dskjdjkdsjnk. i'd say she definitely does find family in the VP later on tho

i have a mortal kombat oc in the works so heheheee get ready to see them!! soon... when im not dying in school once again (its the final stretch of my term and im screaming)

in case u do wanna know a bit, i have some cursory rambles below. but pls dont take every detail down here to heart yet since theyre tentative!! very likely gonna change along the way.

full name: Rhy'savyn "Rhys" Alunan.

in the 1st/2nd timelines tho, they're only known as rhy'savyn (rhys for short) and doesn't have a surname. this is because they're like, half-human, half-outworldian species. however, they never got to know their human father in the first two timelines. they've always wanted to, but smth smth unfortunately lost contact with him?? they have the displeasure of eventually learning that he passed away later on in their lore, and so they live in their respective realm in outworld.

however bc of their half-human nature, they're seen a bit as an outcast of their species (i actually created the species! they're called Silvarians, and visually they're like a combo btwn dryads and wood elves. so yah, nature-based powers and jazz like that. not on like the same scope of power as Cetrion but u get what i mean) due to having a lesser affinity to magic. their mother and some relatives/friends are like the only few people nice to them, but rhys had to work quite hard to earn even a nick of respect.

1st/2nd timelines, Rhys's kind is actually sorta... brinking extinction? not quite sure how to back it up quite yet but I can imagine Shao Kahn's usurping of the throne definitely worsens that scenario.

in Liu Kang's new era tho, he obviously says "nah that's not happening" and basically the Silvarians are thriving again!! woohoo!! we love a guy trying his damn best to give everyone a happy destiny. he also gives his timeline's version of Rhys connection to their Earthrealm side/family, ergo their father also doesn't die and they kinda both live and visit between Earth and Outworld. hence, this Rhys is more like. chill (lack of better word) and obviously is much more happier and energetic, yada yada. this is also where Rhys gains their surname.

they still have to deal with being treated somewhat differently for being half-human and having lesser magic affinity, but they're not straight-up outcast i can imagine. i have a hc that their mother was a victor in a prior tourny, hence ppl in Silvaria try not to fuckin mess with Rhys anyways. though, it still happens.

i'm still trying to decide Rhys's fighting style but i settled on their current ones in MK1 timeline being eskrima (philippines-based martial arts. also i do recall it was Quan Chi's fighting style throughout like 5 games) and kuntau. (chinese martial arts practiced in SE asia)

(icyww yes Rhys is filipino on their human side. voiceclaim would definitely be vanille velasquez aka Neon's VA from VALORANT. although Rhys has like, probably deeper of a voice.)

they also actually do archery, but i'd imagine that'd probably make up like a bare amt of their moveset (their bow can actually turn into the dual blades they use in their eskrima fighting style) and would probably be smth they show off more in an x-ray or fatal blow. or they likely do use different weapons in past timelines, but that i'll decide soon LMFAO

Nova having longevity/semi-immortality is such a neat concept when you consider that she's technically the reborn incarnate of an anomalous star / knowing the lifespan of a star in general, but at the same time... we also know how it is and the repercussions of longevity hahaha throws up

[val au zhongli brainrot] ok so i think as far as interaction goes:

Zhongli's nature is still probably disputed in the VP. he's likely explained the basics of what his world was like and the existence of allogenes/visions, but doesn't say anything more than what needs to be known. i think most of em are smart to catch on that he doesnt quite fit what could be an 'allogene' (even though in this verse he probably claims he is one to the VP) bc where's that supposed vision of his that's allowing him to control his earthen powers ??? LOL.

also i think agents like Astra and Reyna would be VERY much aware that he isn't . a human. at all. at the very most i think Reyna would know that Zhongli is definitely far more older than he seems, given her whole thing to absorb life energy and she can probably sense that he's ancient as FUCK LMAO. Astra on the other hand, knows he's a god in the snap of a finger. however, she doesn't spill it to the VP very likely, bc she can tell he has his reasons for hiding it and maybe to her it's like a "hmm. maybe this guy doesn't want to be recognized as a god any longer. makes sense." kinda thing JDJFJSSJ. either way i think she'd be stoked at the revelation and even amused that Zhongli possesses inhuman levels of power but chooses to hold back (ALSO!! GLOWY ARM BUDDIES SDKJDSJK)

phoenix is probably so mfin bamboozled by Zhongli's character and even teases him saying he could be older than Brimstone (news flash: that is true but does he know yet? ofc not)

i think he would hold a great deal of respect and appreciation for someone like Sage, especially considering her background. i think these two would get along very well with each other. plus, they're both geomancers in their own craft. stronghold solidarity BAHAHHA

basically the younger agents dragging him into their antics, taking him on outings to places he's never been to and do activities he's probably never done before. bringing their young-looking grandpa out to explore earth JDFJSJDJ

i'm still not clear on zhongli's feelings on celestia or whatever but imo, based on what we know of his actions, i do feel he has strong oppositions to them. so after learning about kingdom corp's existence and their dubious/exploitative intentions he can definitely sympathize to what most of the agents in VP feel about all this power-abuse shit NDJSJDJ

iris rambles dont mind me

(before reading: for context, iris is a radiant whose powers revolve around the creation of bubbles. while harmless on surface level, said bubbles can alter reality of whatever gets encapsulated into it.)

thinking abt Iris's lore makes me so emo as fuck. i can envision her character trailer is so deceptive, she's just going about living her normal life in a city that looks a bit too whimsical to be real. everything looks fine and alright though, because she's happy, the people she (seemingly) knows in her world are happy. she has a routine that... strangely almost never changes too much but that's okay bc--despite also having strange and eerie flashbacks of a lab-controlled life for some reason--everything is fine!

and then some "anomalies" (aka radiant agents from the VP, as they can only safely enter. any other human who enters an illusion this strong likely goes insane) enter her bubble world. she's trying to get rid of them, even more so try to force them into this lie. but as radiants, they're mostly resistant to whatever's happening within. whoever is in that team are trying so hard to make her snap out of it, and probably one of them finally asks her "what's your name?"

and this causes Iris to lose her shit because she finally realizes that she doesn't even have a real name. the people who created her never gave her one, save for the serial number she was assigned. the memories of her childhood and adolescence in the lab flood back too fast, with the only good one being that of her caretaker who affectionately called Iris her "little bubble". ultimately, her entire facade falls apart and she's forced to face reality, and the fact that all the citizens living in her word are just imaginary fragments based on people who died in her presence.

the VP takes her back, hoping to find a way to help her recuperate and recover. i'd imagine she's just a hollow shell of her idealized self as she sits in the interrogation room, refusing to talk for a long time. only with cypher's help do they discover that the young lady before them doesn't even have a genuine identity, and that she was the product of an unsanctioned and immoral effort to clone the earliest radiants. additionally, his expertise allowed him to finally uncover the name of the Jane Doe whom she was cloned from: Yeojin Chae.

Cypher presents the woman's story to the young girl, and despite the tragedy of her ending, it somehow manages to ignite something inside her: the first sparks of determination and hope. knowing the girl had nowhere else to go, she's offered sanctuary with the VP. almost immediately, she asks to join their ranks.

she spends some time improving her condition though, and while she's still plagued by trauma, she figures joining them is the only way she can find worth in herself in a reality that she now has to fight for. before her formal induction, she's given the opportunity to choose her own name-- at least so she could be identified. the girl settles on "Yeojin", the name of the woman she was cloned from.

i can definitely see someone like Astra being her radiant mentor. somewhere along that timeline, Yeojin earns her callsign of "Iris", and ultimately finds a new family--the dying wish of her caretaker--within the VP

anyways my new valo agent will potentially be an edm artist specializing in hyperpop music. their ability revolves around bubbles, as i mentioned beforehand; while it sounds kinda... harmless LMAO, the special thing abt them is that they kinda break the laws of reality/gravity of whatever it encompasses. so trippy bubbles SJDBHCBHJ

also, definitely not an excuse for me to attempt to design a character with poofy fashion. teehee

some crumbs abt my new valorant oc (pls keep in mind not to take all this info by heart yet!! some bits are still very tentative and could be removed)

- his name is Roulette—real name Tian Hao Ran (田浩然) who hails from Macau (an autonomous region in China's south coast). i originally intended for the character to be a persona but for what i was aiming for with this character, i couldn't make it work so Roulette's his own character now BDHAHDHSH persona soon maybe

- most likely either a Duelist or a Sentinel. that'll come when i decide what his capabilities are. however, he has a lot of casino motifs bc of his background which ill explain below

- anyways Hao Ran and his twin brother Jian Yu are the sons of a notorious Macau casino tycoon named Tien Teng Fei. the guy had like many establishments not only within the region, but even planning to expand everywhere. really vain, has strong affiliations with Kingdom (many figures from there like to go to his casinos for pleasure or maybe business shit. probably the establishments are common meeting grounds are whatever idk yet)

- however, the brothers do NOT like their father and has hid this from him very well for a long time. they're also both strongly against Kingdom's slow-growing presence in the region. both are skilled in data broking (actually even Cypher knows abt these two but ill go into that another time) and have been using their skills to extract info from Kingdom and many of its associates who would enter the casinos. however, for years the twins have already been plotting this elaborate scheme to stage a coup and overthrow their father from power, probably forcibly exhiling him somewhere or smth, and take over the casino business. this ends up working hehe

- now with their dad out of the picture, the twins were already discussing what to do with kingdom. it was either cut ties, or.... considering they already had the corporation under their strings, they would continue ""working"" with them but in reality they were taking absolute advantage of their presence with what they could do.

- with their data breaking skills (and with the help of a few very trusted colleagues) the brothers' casinos would maintain their very lavish exteriors, but beneath it was a network of these brokers who would extract all this sensitive data from Kingdom and its associates and distribute it to other independent organizations who opposed the corp's presence. the revenue that was also earned by the casinos went into improving the overcrowded districts around Macau. basically vigilante humanitarianism kinda stuff i guess?

- im not yet sure exactly how Hao Ran winds up under VALORANT but it definitely has to do with some data (abt radianite or smth idk) they obtained that nearly put him and his brother in jeopardy. however, VP caught onto both their trails and situation and managed to help the brothers out. the offer to join their ranks stood, but only one of the brothers could accept as there was no other heir to the casinos. in the end, Hao Ran chose to take the offer while entrusting Jian Yu to continue what they've been doing. there would be arrangements made to probably cover up or make up some scenario for Hao Ran's abscence in the public

- ALSO this is a really good crumb for me but Hao Ran/Roulette doesn't have an E2 counterpart (at least, not presently there). the reason for this is that..... well.... his twin brother, Jian Yu, is literally his Omega counterpart. however, both aren't quite aware of this yet??? idk (Jian Yu/Omega Hao Ran was actually sent to Alpha as an infant thus he doesnt remember jackshit abt what happened but ill go into all that another time too)

honestly as someone who LOVES making ocs, one of my lil weaknesses is that i tend to get bothered when i feel my character isn't complex enough. however ive also been working on trying to break outta that mindset bc ik my ocs dont have to be super intricate with all these ooooo deep n dark secrets to be a "presentable" or "interesting" character (not meaning to invalidate other ocs that are that way ofc!!)

i mean it does help, but imo it's all based on context and/or what ur going for. for instance take Cadence (my recent fixation sorry behfhebfhfh). they're a former popstar who joined valorant to understand the omega earth conflict and prevent themselves from becoming a public threat. like ?? much of their backstory aside from that is pretty straightforward and i don't have to force myself to try and make them extremely complicated w/ extreme lore intricacies if their character wasnt made to be so. now that may change when i expand more on the unrevealed portions of their story but all in all someone like cade is pretty easy to follow along with, at least to me JDJFJSJDDJ

i havent elaborated much on omega earth cadence yet but ?? their situation is kinda similar to omega harbor in that they're also not directly affiliated with VL but has helped them in some way. however omega cadence doesnt work for the VL at all in this case and more so lives the life that alpha earth cadence would've had if they didnt join the VP.

the only difference is that omega earth cadence is a bit more... well, while successful in their singing career, is probably someone littered with some controversies here and there (probably such as being a supporter of kingdom's influence... yikers)

alpha cadence would otherwise be horrified to encounter them DSKJKSJD however, cadence (alpha) still somehow plays a role in why the VL has been trying to come after them and it may have to do with omega cadence striking a deal with them... whatever that is is yet to be decided yet nYEHEHE

i realize i havent fully expanded on his feelings over alpha earth's conflict with omega earth, but i've no doubt he'll be all the more intrigued by this entire situation. for all he's probably been told, the other earth is the enemy of the world he's now in. but he would raise questions in his own mind as to what the counterparts in the other earth are probably going through. needless to say he'll likely just go through with the VP's agenda as is, considering this isn't his world anyways. he doesn't have much of a say on most of the stuff happenjng, aside from probably providing a bit of his own two cents on a situation (his feelings could change over some time depending how long he's here)

sidetrack but i just see it funny/interesting that maybe after a full-on operation or whatever, one of the VL agents report back like "hey so uh. who the hell is the new guy working with our doppelgangers? i dont think there's any record of this man here on our earth either"

OH YEAH ive kinda familiarized myself a tiny bit more with the small bits of info pertaining to the guardians and i'd like to think that's probably what Astra mistakes him to be at first. i mean first off there's straight-up inhuman power that he's purposefully holding back, the fact that he came straight out of another universe, and also bc i sorta did give him an ability that can turn his hands into a gold-esque form (and guardian tech/relics are known to be covered in gold) but nah. he's just silly old rock dragon grandpa posing as a human LADIQIHDWUDH

"sooo how old are you?", "phoenix why would you ask him that", "dude he talks like he came straight out of a history book do you not hear it"

ive no doubts he'd be questionable of his current higher-ups but i think that mostly in regards to Viper... i mean, she herself?? the woman whose hands used to heal, now basks in rage and poison. i think in a similar case with Reyna, he'd keep his distance mostly for caution and go with the agenda. but i definitely would see him standing his own ground if these two ever had a major dispute. i cant type out how it would go rn but i can just see smth like that in my head... oooUUgh. (and i think her demeanor would ring many bells for him, just bc he's definitely witnessed how rage or holding seething grudges can turn someone for the worst /coughsOsialcoughs)
