It was one of those rare days you spent, waiting in the living room while your boyfriend was occupied with his new inventions.

You know it was his passion for putting on great shows and you love them of course but sometimes... you just feel very lonely.

You slapped both of your cheeks unconsciously, leaving behind two reddish cheeks... just what the heck were you thinking?

"Haa... maybe I'm more tired than I thought..." scratching your head, displeased as you stand up from the sofa before picking up one of the many cushions.

You stared…before turning to the black screen featuring a channel promoting some valentine's day special ads "Hmm...I guess a nap won't hurt, better than being miserable about this whole thing...haa"

Grabbing the remote on the table before turning the TV off and silence came into the room, you immediately went to make your temporary bed on the sofa.

It's just for a short nap while you wait so it won't hurt anyone if you just rearrange some things... right?

Just as you finish setting up your makeshift bed, the loud click of a door opening and the shuffling footsteps get louder as if it's coming towards you...

In a panic, you tried to make it look like you were already asleep while making yourself as comfortable as possible.

Wait...

Why are you pretending to be asleep for...?

Ah... I didn't even realize...uhh this is going to be so awkward..!!

But a moment later...

TAP! TAP!

"Hey, (name)..." He paused at the sight of you sleeping on his living room sofa...well he thought at first "...(name)?"

A moment passed, you could hear his footsteps coming closer and soon enough, you could feel his presence...

"Hmm... interesting" Rui chuckled with a playful grin, amused by your silly attempt to play pretend...

You just keep laying there, stubbornly continue to pretend to be asleep...

To make it more convincing, you pretended to snore and stir a little in your sleep "mmm..."

He didn't respond which makes you feel a little nervous because you know how unpredictable he can be once he gets his eyes on something...

Please believe it and leave peacefully...!

But to your disbeliefs, the next thing he says almost made you fall off the sofa... almost

"Ah I see, shall I wake you up with...hmm I don't know..." Rui asked in a teasing tone as bright golden eyes stared at your sleeping face "...maybe a kiss? Do you want that, (name)?"

Your ears picked up his shuffling footsteps and in the next moment, a warm breath hit your cheek and when you realized what he was doing. You suddenly found yourself in a dangerous situation with your heart about to explode at any moment...

Before you could mentally prepare yourself, the next thing you know was his lips brushed against yours softly and delicately...

Like a pair of a butterfly wings, long enough to make you gasp in surprise when he slowly removes himself and stares into your widen (colour) eyes.

Rui smiles proudly when he saw your expression went from gawking at him like a goldfish to a blossoming pink as you stumble over your words from the shock.

"Are you awake now?"

Shinonome Akito is the kind of person who isn't a big fan of being very open with his emotions, not like he hates those who are more vulnerable with their emotions... it's more like he just doesn't understand it.

When he met you for the first time, he started to understand how such emotions can make one becomes so vulnerable.

... though he does it in a subtle way because it's embarrassing for him.

"Where is it...?" You let out a groan, annoyed as you put the book back on the shelves before sitting down on the bed.

You were waiting for your boyfriend who have plans with his band so his mom let you wait in his room and now here you were...stuck.

"Haa... maybe he hides it somewhere else this time" You sighed, slightly disappointed.

Now you must be wondering...why exactly are you were so keen on finding this book of his?

Well time to rewind for a little bit...

-ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈a few days ago...

It was around the time when the school bell rings, signaling the students that it was the end of the day.

You were practically just giggling to yourself while humming a song as you started to pack your stuffs into your school bag.

"(name)-san, you seem really happy about something...did something good happened today?" Your seatmate asked, putting the bag over their shoulder.

"Mmm! It's almost our 1st year anniversary, ahh~ I'm so excited that I don't know what to do!?" You squeaked, hands holding your blushing cheeks.

"Woah, hold it right there. Don't go running around while you're daydreaming about your boyfriend, what am I going to say if you knocked yourself out?"

"Whaaa?? How could you be so mean to me, you have no faith on me at all! I can't be that dumb-"

"You bumped into the bathroom wall after having your first kiss with him" Your friend looked at you with an unamused expression.

"I-....okay fair point" You sighed, defeated.

They laughed, making their way out of the classroom "Well, don't be late~"

"Ah!" You gasped, hurriedly packing your bag and make a run for it.

Akito was already waiting for you, leaning against the shoe lockers as other students walked passed him. He looks bored out of his mind.

Gosh...he looks so dreamy...Ah, wait snap out of it (name)!!

At that moment...

Olive green eyes met your (colour) ones.

"What took you so long?" Akito asked, walking up to where you were and you could have swore he was smiling...

But something else caught your attention before you could comment on it; an orange coloured journal drop down from his halfway opened bag.

You bent down to grab it, the book have its pages open and you can see his handwriting on them.

"Hmm? Aki, what is this-" Before you could finish your sentence, the journal was immediately taken away from your hands to which you blinked and turn to look at him.

"Don't look at it" He let out a grunt, looking flustered.

"A-Aki??" You called out, confused by his expression.

"Let's go home" Akito grabbed your hand before practically dragging you out.

"H-Hold up, it's no fair that you have longer legs!!!" You whined and you could see his smug face from the corner of your eyes.

You couldn't help but think back to what you just saw in that book...

-ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈back to the present...

After that day, he keeps hiding that book away in different places every time you come over to his house.

And today was no luck as usual until now...

"Is that...?"

a few cm away from your right foot was a familiar book with its bright orange color peeking out of its hiding spot.

You found it, you actually found it...

You flipped through the pages and many of those were filled with Akito's handwriting and a complete different handwriting was circle around some sentence with corrections.

By that, you mean very very dramatic corrections...

"...is this Tsukasa-san's handwriting?? Huh..." You were confused but that didn't stop you from reading some of them because you can't help but being more curious on finding out what he was hiding in this journal now...

Tsukasa-san said writing a love letter might be a good idea...why do people like this kind of stuffs? This is so embarrassing...

How do I love you...?

Let me count...

There are many reasons what make (name) as a person.

What I love about you is simple.

You're patient and understanding that it's hard for me to be honest, I like that you're always trying your best in everything you do and sometimes, I want to poke fun at your weird facial expressions when you're concentrating. I like that you are always supportive of our dreams to surpass a legend and you always think of others even when we were on a date... though I do find that kind annoying at first.

The door slammed open.

"Hey, (name) I'm back-" Akito's eyes widen when he saw you sitting on his bed with his journal wide open.

"You weren't supposed to read those!" He grunts, the tips of his ears turn red when he realized you saw what he wrote to which he couldn't help but cringe.

"...Aki"

"What?"

"I love you too!!!"

"Huh-"

He was cut off by you pounced on him, making the two of you fall down onto the wooden floorboards.

... let's just say he wasn't happy with you teasing him about it afterwards.

━━❝I love hearing your voice even when we are so far away from each other❞

You loved being somewhere different. The scenery was gorgeous, the food was amazing, and the new fashion? You were in love with all of it… The diversity in clothing styles, makeup styles, and hairstyles was everything you wanted to see.

You were glad to take the chance you’ve been dying for… But, something wasn’t right.

It was quiet. Too quiet.

You loved the rare quietness you got from time to time… But, being somewhere totally new with nobody was isolating.

Of course, there were other classmates, but they weren’t considerable as friends.

There were many friends back at home and it was never lonely. Hanging out with friends was awesome, but what was more awesome was being with him…

You sighed, reviewing the pictures you took on your camera on your laptop. ‘Who knew taking pictures all day was such an exhausting thing…’

As much as it was boring, it was also slightly entertaining to see where your day led you. Plus, you had many pictures to show your friends once you got home.

Call it unprepared, but you didn’t realize that you would need to purchase cellular internet for another country. So, you were offline for the next week until you could get the chance to make a plan.

Falling backward into the chair, you groan. “This sucks…”

Ring!

You jolted upwards, looking around the room. “What the hell?”

The noise was heard again, and it came from the hotel phone. You laughed softly before scooting the chair backward and stood up, walking towards the phone.

You pick the phone up and hold it to your ear. “Hello?”

“Ah- I finally got it!” The voice on the other end exclaimed.

Eyebrows furrowed, you tilt your head to the side slightly. Laughing awkwardly, “Who is this?”

“You don’t recognize the sound of my terrific and mighty voice, co-star!?”

…

“Tsukasa!”

“AHA! You guessed right, my amazing co-star! I can never get anything past you!.”

“Wait,” You paused. “How did you find my room’s number? I couldn’t even text anyone!”

It took a moment for Tsukasa to answer. “I asked your instructor what hotel you were staying at! The process was long but unimportant! What matters now is that we are speaking!”

You laughed at him with a small smile, sitting on the bed.

“Everybody has been missing you, my co-star!”

“Now?”

Even though you couldn’t see him, the smile on his face was screaming from the other end of the phone. “Of course! I wouldn’t dare lie to you!”

“Oh no, of course you wouldn’t.”

Tsukasa suddenly sighed. “I can’t believe you had forgotten the fact you had to buy a new plan when you left the country!”

“It slipped my mind…” You sighed, rubbing the side of your head. “I was busy planning everything else! I would have gotten the international plan for the time being if I remembered!”

“That’s why you should have a bright calendar like me!” He beamed. “Every shining star must have one, you know?”

“I’ll be sure to get a calendar once I’m home,” You smiled.

It was silent for a moment until Tsukasa mumbled something softly.

“Hm?”

“How is it there!?” He asked loudly, causing you to drag the phone away for a moment then back to your face.

“It’s honestly so nice here,” You explained. “It’s so beautiful. The sites are amazing and- I wish I could show you and everyone else. But- the culture here is fascinating! I had gotten the chance to speak to some locals and some traditional clothing stores and I’ve gotten a great chunk of history on some of the culture here! Oh and also- the food is so tasty!”

Tsukasa listened quietly with delight as you continuously spoke about the new place you had been staying at. He liked how much you loved the new place and how passionate you were about it…

“Sounds fun… We and our friends should all go to the shining future together!”

You laughed with a smile and nodded. “I think we should too- oh, but I have to go soon. I need to finish up some homework before tomorrow.”

“Oh. Of course! A light has to do their work to make sure they can truly become the shining stars they’re made to be! Just like me!”

“You get it.”

The silence came back. It felt like he had something to say but at the same time, not really… It was hard to tell…

“Co-star?”

You hummed a small tune in response.

“I love hearing your voice.”

You were silent, still smiling, before becoming confused. “Huh?”

“I truly love hearing your voice whenever I can,” He softly said, contrasting with how he usually spoke. “I love hearing your voice even when we are so far apart. It’s comforting to hear! Not as comforting as mine but-”

You burst into a small laughter before he could finish his sentence. “You’re so sweet, Tsukasa. I honestly feel the same about you… it’s pretty quiet and lonely without hearing your voice every so often,” You breathed out a laugh.

It was silent again but felt more complete. “I’m glad you feel the same way!” He laughed. “Nobody can get enough of the star! It’s an after-star effect!”

“What the heck is that?”

“The effect after seeing someone amazing on stage who was truly so amazing you want to see more of them!”

You laughed again with a fond laugh on your face.

…

“Well, I should let you get back to work now, huh co-star?”

“It’s probably for the best,” You shrugged. “Call me tomorrow around this time again. I’ll make sure to finish my work early so we can talk for longer.”

Tsukasa laughed. “Alright! Farewell, my amazing co-star! I shall speak to you tomorrow!”

“Goodbye Tsukasa.”

You put the phone down before pausing, just remembering the conversation then laughed. How much of a dork he was…

"Look fuyu~! Aren't these plushies so cute?!"

A girl with tied up purple hair halted her tracks to see the direction you were pointing at.

What you were standing in front of was a claw machine filled with various plush animals who were too cute for your eyes!

Each animal in the claw machine reminded you of some of your friends. Like how this pink cat reminded you of Mizuki, as it is as adorable as Mizuki is! Or how a smaller orange sparrow next to it reminds you of Ena. Since a sparrow may be small but it is loud

"..."

As Mafuyu was standing right beside you looking at the plushies you were telling her about.

"They're just normal plushies.. I don't see anything special about them."

"Fuyu~!!! Don't be like tha-"

"Besides, I still think you're way more cute than the soft toys."

Mafuyu stated bluntly as she continued staring at the plushies to see how they are specially cute. You were lucky she didn't glance at you with how pink your face was.

You knew Mafuyu was blunt but you didn't expect her to outright flirt with you just like that! Although you did enjoy the compliment since it was rare to see Mafuyu compliment you without doing anything.

"W-well.. Those plushies reminds me about some friends of ours.. Like how that blue puppy in the corner reminds me of Kanade.. and some others.."

"Well now that you pointed it out.. Those plushies do resemble some of our friends.."

"..."

"Ah! Wait here Fuyu!! I want to go and get something!"

»»-----► After a few minutes flew by... ❍✧

"I-I'm back!"

You yelled, as you stopped to catch your breath for a bit. Since you ran back to prevent making Mafuyu wait too long.

"..What did you get?"

You slowly walked your way over to Mafuyu to show her what you got. Inside your purse was filled of coupons for the claw machine.

"Now we can both try to get the plushies! After all, we came out to have fun anyways right?"

You smiled as you input the coins into the machine to start it.

"Here! You can start first fuyu!"

You told her, only to not get a response of Mafuyu getting close to the machine.

"..? Fuyu, what's wrong?"

"..I've never played claw machines before.."

"..Oh- It's okayyy! I can teach you!"

As you walk in front of the machine. Prepared to teach Mafuyu how to use it.

"First you use this controller to move.."

As you glance at Mafuyu for a bit. Only to see her make an expression she has never made before. She looks.. Determined?

"...? Is something the matter [name]?"

"Oh uh! N-nothing. Anyways next click this button and you should pick up the plushy."

-As you said that the plushy dropped from the claw.

"Is that suppose to happen?"

"Ahaha.. Hang on let me try again.."

---- AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS ----

After a few of your tries, you only left less than half of the coupons of what you've started with.

"..I think I got the hang of it now, here [name] let me try."

As you gave the purse to Mafuyu to let her try out the claw machine after your failed attempts.

"Good luck Fuyu~ it's really ha-"

Mafuyu reached down to open the small door and took out the first plushy before dropping another 3 more down from all the coupons that were left.

"Here [name], sorry I failed some tries and couldn't get you every single different on-"

"Are you kidding Fuyu?! You got so many for me already! And it's the ones I wanted too~"

As you quickly jumped on Mafuyu giving her a hug. Although it was a bit awkward since Mafuyu didn't return the hug back. You could feel her heart beating a little faster.

You let go of the hug and picked up the rest of the plushies that were still inside the door. You examined each of them, looking at their cute faces before putting them inside your bag except for one.

"Why didn't you put that inside the bag too..?"

"Oh this one? It's because it's my favourite one you got me out of the 4!"

"Is it because it's the first one I got?"

"Oh, of course not! It's because it reminds me of you."

You replied, staring at a purple bunny. It was pretty fluffy too!

You and Mafuyu enjoyed the moment of silence together, until your phone decided to disrupt it.

Ding!

You took out your phone to see it was your father telling you to come home since it's already quite late.

"Ah, sorry Fuyu~! I got to go home now. Thanks for hanging out and getting me the plushies today!"

"..No problem, thanks for inviting me"

Just as you were about to walk off, Mafuyu grabbed your hand.

"Hm? What is it Fuyu?"

You turned your head to look at her, wondering why you got stopped.

"...Before you go.. Can I kiss you?"

"I wanted to ask if you'll like to do this again sometime? I can see you're already tired from today so we can start heading home together?"

"Sure thing! If it is you I don't mind hanging out again hehe"

You exclaimed, though you could've sworn you saw Nene's cheek turn a little pink.

You guys then picked up your bags and valuables before exiting the arcade and started heading towards the bus stops. Though, the journey to the bus stops was a little difficult as you were starting to feel fatigue from the lack of sleep and the loud music at the arcade.

"W-woah [name]! Are you alright? You look really unstable.."

Nene asked, as she grabbed your arm to help you stabilize your body from falling.

"Ah.. I might have gotten a lot lesser sleep than I would have imagined.."

"[Name]?! Why did you sleep so late?! Nevermind that.. There's a bench nearby. You should probably get a nap in before we continue. It's only 5pm.."

As Nene helped you to the nearest bench so the both of you could sit down and take a rest.

After a few minutes went by, you still haven't shut your eyes to rest at all.

"[Name]..? What's the matter?"

"Errr... I am a bit nervous napping in a public space."

"Don't worry about it [name]. I'll be here till you wake up or if you need me.."

"Still thoug-"

"Here, I'll hold your hand until you fall asleep... If that will make you feel any better-"

Nene quickly swallowed her words, feeling like she said too much.

"What are you doing Nene?! [Name] is going to find me weird now.."

Nene was mentally hitting herself on the head. Why did she say that?! That was a creepy thing to say, what if you didn't like her or want to hang out with her anymore?

Suddenly all her worries were washed away when she felt the warmth of your hand interlocking with hers and a gentle weight on her shoulders.

Maybe this date went well afterall..
