Can I just say that one of my all time favourite RandL “interviews” is them on Always Open.

They were so relaxed, warm, funny, and just so freaking great. Link especially was half full of chaotic energy, but also managed to be genuinely heart warming, asking about Mariel’s childhood as a gay kid in a small town, and just really wanting to help Mariel and the question asker with their issues.

#I'm always slightly sad that we never saw them do anything with Achievement Hunter when they visited RT #but then again they would have died on Off Topic lmao

{ keira knightley, thirty-five, cis female, she/her } hey, roman ridley? good to see you, with all the insanity going on! still working at fish and wildlife as an agent? that’s good. i mean, you’ve been around thirty-five years, what do you make of this insanity? hey, i heard that people have been saying that you’re into creating your own codes so even you forget your secrets, escaping to the worlds of the past before you turn your light off to sleep, and having playlists for everything. you also remind people of taking advantage of being consistently underestimated, adding another language to your repertoire and driving in the rain with music blaring out, which i like. well, stay safe out there and remember to listen to the fog warnings.

roman ridley’s parents were expecting a boy ( even though they decided to keep the birth a surprise ) and when the resulting child was distinctly not a boy, they decided to keep the name anyway. her parents are english, but she was born in pinehaven & has spent her whole life there.

so many wonder, surrounded by pinehaven residents, how roman managed to keep her parents’ accent. the truth is, she decided she liked it better, and the real answer is: practice.

she’s a polyglot. languages always came naturally to roman, and they weave into the “lives” she’s had, the “experiences” she’s been through. because she can hardly tell the truth about what she really does at fish & wildlife, absences have to be excused with stories so riveting that the asker has forgotten what question they asked by the time she’s finished.

roman ridley once won a monopoly game with only the four train stations to her name, in which she let the other players develop rivalries with one another until one by one, they folded and handed off their property to her to avoid giving even the tiniest amount to each other.

she also dms dungeons & dragons campaigns, and is pinehaven’s official air hockey champion. ( many a guilty smile has been flashed before money for property damage is handed over. )

not the kind of person you’d expect to be a federal agent, right? exactly. she’s got a social media repertoire on conservation / wildlife issues.

( her family are wealthy fuckers, think grovesnor group, who left england after a political scandal, but their money is — unfortunately — intact. roman interacts with that money only sometimes, when it makes assignments easier, when she can give it to charities to upkeep her image. )

and yeah, she’s not necessarily steve irwin but she’s trying to look like she is. fish & wildlife and all that.

bisexual legend. so like, hit me up for ships if you’re willing to test the waters with roman: she can be a flirty little fucker when she wants to be, and she’ll happily pay the drink tab out of her asshole parents’ money.

non-committal. like really, roman doesn’t know what that is. she’s a rolling stone who loves open relationships, but the closest she came to going exclusive was with marielle belcourt, a frenchwoman who went missing when the fog came down two weeks ago.

motorbike bi (tm).

it’s not like they’d miss it. they don’t miss her. they live in the same town and they haven’t spoken in many a year.

she really does have playlists for everything! she’s got to vibe, dude. if she doesn’t vibe it interrupts her flow, and that’s never good. not for her or for anyone who’s unfortunate enough around her.
