Updated Masterlist of Writing and Art

About the writer/artist: I like to write and paint. My current obsession is Sandman, but I enjoy most fantasy fandoms as well as anime (I think I’m on season seven billion of One Piece right now 🤣). I'm also weird as they come (and awkward, too), so just please ignore my oddball (coughTERRIBLEcough) sense of humor.

On a more personal note, I have PTSD and suffer from severe manic depressive episodes. Writing and art are my most familiar coping mechanisms, and I need them like I need oxygen. Seriously, there were times in my life that knowing I had to finish a story or a piece of art was the only thing stopping me from ending up dead. So, I don't take part in fandom drama. Having my peace and protecting my mental health are very big deals to me, and I won't risk those for anything if I can help it.

As for my writing, it ranges from short one-shots to ridiculously long novel series. I use third person POV (on longer series) as well as second person (on shorter things). I also try to always exclude physical descriptions when writing main character OCs and assign them nicknames to avoid using Y/N. I love to read Y/N fics, but writing them makes me feel like I'm at work. And who actually wants to ever feel like they're at work when they're engaging in a hobby? Definitely not me.

Lastly, there's usually more stuff on my AO3 page than I have listed here, because I forget to post it pretty often. Oops. I'll get around to moving it all over one day. Probably. Maybe.

Sandman 'Verse

All the Precious and Fragile Things (so easily do they break)

After banishing his lover from the Dreaming for her betrayal, Morpheus learns that she is pregnant with his child.

And that she’s been captured by a revenge-seeking Alexander Burgess.

What the both of them are unaware of is that this will set in motion a cascade of unfavorable events, causing a chain reaction that threatens the whole of existence itself.

Sometimes He's Sweet

Morpheus hates the holidays.

As excited as she seems to experience the mortal holiday, he's… less so. Much less so. With the entire collective unconscious contained within him, this time of year can be wholly overwhelming, a miasma of too much red and green, too much worry, too much loneliness, too much excitement, too many similarly themed dreams, too many similarly themed nightmares, and far far too many holiday songs. It all bleeds out from the collective unconscious into his own mind, sticks there like weeping sap to a tree until he feels half-mad with the unrelenting presence of it, with his inability to get free from its cloying trespass upon his very being.

This is just a little sweet fluff for the holiday season. It takes place between chapters 19 and 20 of "All the Precious and Fragile Things". No spoilers here if you've read that far!

The Dog Debacle (or how best to sneak a dragon into the dreaming)

Morpheus' daughter gets a new dog.

Well..... kind of.

That Familiar Feeling of Family (or how Hob Gadling ended up as an uncle to his stranger's oftentimes feral children)

It's a pretty universally known thing that families are just strange. As Hob is quickly figuring out, however, this little fact is magnified by AT LEAST a billion when the family in question is Endless.

(A lighthearted story in which Hob Gadling finds out his stranger has married, makes friends with a homicidal maniac/ruler, and manages to become an exemplary uncle to a pack of magically mischievous children. Really, now all he has to do is convince everyone to stop calling his and Dream's weekly meetups "playdates", and then his life would be practically perfect.)

In his temple, what remains of Orpheus waits in trepidation. Something is changing. Something that he knows might alter the very fabric of the world as he understands it.

Finally freed from captivity, Calliope struggles to make any meaningful changes to the laws that saw her bound and taken in the first place. When the strange woman appears on Mount Parnassus and offers help, Calliope knows she would be a fool not to accept it. Even if she thinks that she's being lied to.

Meanwhile in the peace of the Dreaming, Morpheus grapples with guilt over his son's fate. As he basks in the love of his new children, he can't help but to regret his own failings where Orpheus is concerned.

And as for May, she's really just got a job to do. And her own traumatic issues to deal with. And if it's all hella awkward because she's having to work alongside her husband's ex-wife, she'll see it done anyway. There's even the small possibility that she might eventually admit to Calliope the truth about her identity. That is if she can ever actually work up the courage to say it aloud.

☀ What makes your oc genuinely happy? A person, an item, their hobby? Where is the place they’re happiest, or most at home? What is the happiest they’ve ever been?

Okay I’m answering this for Andry cause he’s the one I have the most ready answer for. Andry’s favorite person is Asher, his younger brother; they’re.... like, exactly close enough in age that as Asher has a times felt competitive with Andry, but far enough away that Andry is Way Ahead of Andry in terms of any skill that takes practice to acquire, just cause he’s had a head start, y’know? And honestly, most of those things, like... Andry doesn’t do them because he likes them, necessarily, but because he’s Expected To Be Good At Them. Andry likes reading, he’s worked obsessively to be good at fencing and riding and to some extent hunting because he Has To. All of which means that it genuinely doesn’t occur to him that Asher would be jealous of any of his skills until he’s giving Asher some pointers on his footwork when Asher is like eleven and Asher bursts into tears and yells at Andry for being good at everything and runs off, and Andry just sits there like. ????

So, all of that to say: when Asher beats Andry in an archery competition the next year, not because Andry let him win but honestly because Asher’s better than he is, and Asher turns to him and hugs him so hard he can’t breath and cries into his shirt a little, that’s the happiest Andry’s ever been.

🌙 If your OC could have one wish come true what would it be and why? Would there be consequences to this wish or would they regret it once they get what they want? What would they give in return for this wish to come true?

Okay, this one’s getting answered for Morden cause in a horrible way he’s the Most Motivated Of All

So, Morden comes from... a checkered background. He’s lowborn, and he’s had some magical abilities since he was a kid, and he comes from a part of the world where magic is heavily distrusted. When he tried to find other people who had similar abilites, he discovered that fae-blooded creatures and people with magical talent had been more or less wiped out by royal decree in the previous decades, and while the persecution had been scaled back a lot a few years before Morden was born (now the king’s police graciously only kill fae and magic users when they ‘pose a problem’ rather than, you know, On Sight), Morden kind of.... fixated on the king of Leisevain, and on royalty in general, as The Reason For All His Problems.

So, maybe kind of counterintuitively: Morden Wants To Be A King.

Which... maybe came from an honest place, once? As a kid he was angry that the king had given this Obviously Wrong decree, and even if people knew it was wrong they still did it because of the Divine Rule Of Kings, or whatever? But as he got older, and more skilled, and people never gave him any recognition unless he made them, he got more and more envious of these people who the stuff he wanted--respect, love, power--without ever having to prove they deserved it?

So, uh... in a big way, we’ve seen Morden’s wish come true! But in another way, it Can’t, because what he wants is to be accepted as legitimate, which doesn’t necessarily happen when you Conquer A Nation By Force, and Morden...….. isn’t really the type to take that particularly well if and when it becomes obvious to him.

As for what he’s willing to do to make his wish come true...…… well, obviously he’s more than willing to Launch A Hostile Campaign On A Foreign Country, and there’s a lot more coming if and when he realizes Being Called Your Majesty Isn’t Actually Enough For Him.

💎 Does your OC collect anything? Is there a reason? When did they start and is it beginning to turn into a little bit of a hoarding issue? What do they do with their collection?

Rona collects bugs.

She grew up in the Southwest where she would occasionally see tarantulas and black widows, and she always loved them, and occasionally she would catch a particularly big or pretty spider/beetle/moth and take it with her when she had relocate, to make the new place feel more like hers. Now that she has her own place she has a praying mantis, several hissing cockroaches, and a rose hair tarantula named Scarlette that is the being she loves most in the world.

Rona doesn’t invite people over to her apartment often because she Doesn’t Trust Anyone, but when she does the first thing she does is show them her office, where all her Bugs live, and see how they handle it. Obviously they get big points for being Into It, but she also is fine with people who are Clearly Terrified--but people who are loudly disgusted/judgemental/say anything about killing bugs are Not People Rona Continues To Fuck With In Any Way.

(Simon hasn’t seen the bugs, but when she described them to him he shuddered but said something noncommittal about people getting connection wherever they can find it, which was an acceptable enough response for her to continue working with them, at least.)
