So I saw this thing awhile back I don’t know who posted it but it was a head canon that essentially said that Pre-reform Vulcans would cuddle and (or just) purr around their injured mate to help the other recover. It’s something modern day Vulcans can still do but they tend to suppress the urge.
Why can I see Soven doing that for Melody after ~~~~~~no~spoiler~Sorry~not~sorry~~~~~~ anyway that would be adorable 🥰
-Azora
OH. OH NEED. I NEED BIG MUCH. 🥺 Protective purring around an injured mate, I– 😭
This is so so so so so so so so so cute. I’m in a very soft mood and this is feeding my appetite, sorry not sorry.
OOOOOHHHH, I can SO see Soven doing that for Melody!!! 😭🥺 Precious bb’s omfg. I’m fucking melting over here. Imagine Mr. Logical Soven purring beside Melody while she’s in sickbay on a biobed under the influence of some painkillers. She’s totally zonked/loopy from them and she wakes up just enough to see Soven and realize that he’s purring and she just...drowsily pets his hair like a kitten. 🥺 I’m sorry, I just adore these two so much. 💖

(Further into the relationship) Soven and Melody are doing the vulcan kiss thing having dinner with Sandra (human federation police/investigator) and Veren (romulan criminal on probation).
Melody: Oh you know what would be fun?
Soven: What Tal-kam? (dear)
Melody: Carving our names into a tree like in the movies. *sighs dreamily*
Sandra: Seeing all those couples carve their names into trees worries me with how many people bring knives on dates.
Veren: Seems like a completely normal thing to bring on a date to me; that and a military grade blaster rifle. Never know what kind psycho you could be with.
*Soven breaks away from the vulcan kiss to slide his arm around melody as she scoots closer to him. Sandra, Soven, and Melody stare wide-eyed unblinking at the Romulan.* Veren: What?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Oh my gosh, I could totally picture that. Also! Might I ask more about Veren? He/she/they seem(s) fun!
And I absolutely ADORE the thought of Soven and Melody doing the tree carving initials thing!!! 💙 Istg they're precious!!

(Back when Melody and Soven where just friends 😂)
Soven: “Illogical, Melody does not like me in a romantic way. She is simply being friendly.”
Camille: “Put your hand up if you think that Melody has a crush on Soven”
*The crew members in the room put their hand up*
Soven: “...”
Soven: *sigh* “Melody put your hand down”
ASJFWBGRBNGJ Soven, plz 😂 I mean, she and Camille were right, tbh. The way he was still in denial, omg.
Bless you, Azora, for putting this in my ask box. 💙 I love those two characters and you!

My apologies if any of the names match a real-life person that is not my intent, I’m just making them up. Without a further ado enjoy! Location: Federation Star Ship Atlantis {Love Grows- Edison Lighthouse} The Atlantis was buzzing as its crew were hurrying to make the proper preparations for the upcoming mission, one that would be important in gathering information that could cripple the Xindi. Currently the captain of the Atlantis, Captain Everett Jones was hosting a meeting in the conference room for the higher ups. Late, usually more often than not Melody was so quick to rush out of the turbo lift once the doors opened, she didn’t notice the brunette standing on the other side. Next thing she knew she accidently collided with her friend Vanessa the newest addition to Melody’s security team. “I am so sorry Vanessa. I was in such a hurry-” Melody blurted out as she scrambled to help pick up the papers, she caused Vanessa to drop. “It’s fine I was actually just coming to see you about this updated report from Star Fleet that just came in-Whoops this one’s yours.” Vanessa smiled as handed the report back to Melody. “Yeah, just go ahead and put that file under sub-section XA. I’ll read it in a bit. Thanks Vanessa see you at lunch!” Melody yelled over her shoulder as she rushed down the hall and to the conference room entrance, the door whooshed open after she entered her security clearance code. “You’re late Melody.” The calm voice of the captain rang out as he stood to greet the last member joining the meeting. “Sorry Captain Jones, it took me a hot minute to find the report I needed.” Melody flashed a bright smile as she made her way around the table over to the seat left open right beside Soven. Everett simply snorted a laugh and shook his head as he sat down already very familiar with Melody’s antics. “Thanks for saving me a seat Soven” Melody whispered lowly as the meeting resumed “Of course.” he replied with a curt nod before returning his attention to the presentation. The meeting thoroughly went over every fine detail of the plan and courses of action everyone would need to take for various scenarios if something went wrong. Going around the table the captain finally got to Melody’s part in the mission. “This here is a suit of Xindi armor we got off a fallen assassin during the last battle. We fixed it up to will help you, Melody, sneak on board the Xindi’s ship. Now once inside you can integrate yourself and begin to gather the important intel we need.” “Gross I don’t know where that’s been…” Melody’s nose wrinkled in disgust at the knowledge the owner had perished wearing that. Then of course a mischievous thought popped into her head and she turned to smirk suggestively at Soven in the seat right next to her. “Though I know where I want to be right now” “Melody do you really think it is appropriate to be making sexual advances on a fellow officer” Trying to hide his flustered blush he gave an unimpressed blank stare. “Really Soven? I am so hurt all I was going to say was ‘I wanna be wherever you are” Melody says with an innocent smile looking up at him lovestruck and proceeds to lean her head on Soven’s shoulder nuzzling into him. “…” Soven stayed silent choosing not to respond resisting the urge to lean his head against hers. He was adamant about maintaining a professional image and keeping a tight lid on his emotions especially when on duty. “I mean seriously Soven mind out of the gutter for once please. I know that’s hard for you to do with me here but try.” She was messing with him from the playful wink to the quick peck she planted on his cheek and Soven knew it. Nonetheless he knew there was sincerity in Melody’s teasing as he was the only one, she ever kissed on the cheek. “Okay moving on, Commander Soven I would like you to run a final diagnostic on the latest upgrades your team did to the shields of the Atlantis. Ensure they are running perfectly.” Captain Jones continues the meeting and wrapping up within the hour. When the meeting concluded everyone filed out of the conference room with Melody and Soven being the last. As they are leaving Soven lightly grabs Melody’s shoulder causing her turns around to face him with a questioning look. Following a quick glance around to make sure they were alone Soven spoke. “Be careful on this mission.” “I will cross my heart.” Melody beamed “Melody…may I ask if you will miss me?” He paused hesitating for a moment but ultimately decided to ask the question. “Every second I’m not with you, but don’t worry I promise I will always return to you.” She meant every word she said and after gave a reassuring smile knowing that just because Vulcan’s repress their emotions does not mean they aren’t sensitive to them. He doesn’t have to say a word for Melody to know he is worried about her. “A promise is binding I expect you to keep your word.” Soven knows there is a chance that she will not make it back alive but somehow cementing it in a promise, as illogical as he knows it is, makes him feel slightly better as if it does in fact guarantee her safe return. “Soven you make life worth living. I won’t stay away a second longer than I have too. I love you.” “…” A million things rush through his head. He loves her, even if being around someone so emotional is hard for a Vulcan. No matter how much it hurts sometimes or whenever those little things that make her who she is, human, gets on his very last nerve he knows that’s the first thing he would miss if she ever left. “It’s alright you don’t have to say it back.” Noticing his long pause, she gives him a way out of replying not wanting to force him to say or feel anything that will make him uncomfortable. Though Soven stays silent in his own thoughts for a minute longer. “…” He knows he loves her so much that it hurts every day knowing that logically he’s going to outlive her by a century. Knowing that he may not be able to give her the family she wants to have one day, the family she deserves because no one knows if humans and Vulcans are compatible, but he isn’t strong enough to walk away even if he’s being selfish to her and ultimately to himself in the moment. He will always love her. What he does say is- “Live long and prosper Melody Steorra. It will be agreeable to see your safe return to the ship.” Soven ends with a Vulcan salute. “I’ll be happy to see you too, hon. Live long and prosper” Melody replies smiling as she returns the Vulcan Salute. The two went their separate ways, Soven to his workstation and Melody to the cafeteria where she was meeting her childhood best friend Camille and her new friend Vanessa. Even though she was a recent addition to the friend group Vanessa blended in seamlessly. “Hey girls sorry I’m-” “Late?” Camille laughed cutting Melody off. “Some things never change it seems.” She shook her head at her old friend laughing. “We went ahead and got you a Lemonade, you seem to get that most of the time anyway, so I hope it’s okay.” Vanessa motioned to the drink sitting at the open place setting at the table. Melody nodded as she sat down, a little while later she gave her order to the ships chief and the girls chatted as they waited for lunch to arrive. Eventually the conversation shifted to Camille’s approved transfer at the end of the month to the Andorian research vessel the Amdaroth. “So, Camille think you might meet any cute Andorians while your there?” Melody teased knowing her friend was more of an all work and no play kind of person. “My time there on the Amdaroth is going to be purely scientific, I am going there to explore new ecosystems and learn about Andorian culture.” Camille stated in a as a matter-of-fact tone. “Wait you said Amdaroth. Wasn’t that the ship that stopped and helped us with repairs? Oooo wait didn’t you hit it off with one of the security personnel, wasn’t that guy-what’s his name…?” Melody tapped her chin trying to remember. “You mean Kash?” Camille sighed knowing she shouldn’t be throwing fuel to the fire. “Yeah Kash! Maybe he’s still working on the ship, if you do go out with an Andorian tell me how it goes, I’m curious as to how they do dates.” Vanessa added sitting back and sipping on her drink. “I am going there to work not goof off.” Camille retorted digging into her food slightly annoyed. “I won’t press it. I just thought it might be good for you. I know you like to bury yourself in your work. It might be good for you to meet someone.” Melody gave Camille a half smile knowing how her friend could be. “But of course, you do what you want to do. Melody and I just want you to be happy.” Vanessa smiled apologetically not wanting to upset Camille. “Honestly who knows what will happen when I’m there, but whatever may come up my research will be my first priority. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity I just don’t want to mess it up, especially with romantic drama, you know?” Camille got two hums of agreement in response; after that the rest of the meal was quieter filled with idle chit chat before everyone had to return to work. The following days would bring an increased workload with the ever-increasing threat the Xindi posed to life on earth. Location: Federation Star Ship Atlantis (Later that day) {I’ll Be- Edwin McCain} The mission was just a few hours away and it was time to get some rest, but Melody was still wound up and while Soven could stand to miss out on sleep with Vulcans only needing a couple hours a night and can easily go two weeks without sleep. Knowing Melody needed rest, he decided to do the only ‘Logical’ thing and mention that Melody could come over to his quarters so they could settle down watching more reruns of Happy Days, but only to ensure she got the proper amount of sleep, of course. Melody had happily agreed loving when they had what she jokingly referred too as sleep overs, normally spending a few nights a week over in Soven quarters or the other way around even if most of the time they were simply hanging out just enjoying each other presence. Sometime during the night Melody had fallen asleep on Soven’s bed cuddled up against the Vulcan in question. Soven had waited until she was in a deep sleep before allowing himself to fall into a light slumber, keeping an arm around Melody. The two stayed like that until the morning hours, Soven had awoken a few minutes before the alarm clock would go off signaling that the pair had to get up. Turning his gaze from the time on the clock to the blonde sleeping peacefully at his side Soven knew they had to get up but a large part of him was screaming at him to snuggle back down against Melody and enjoy the blissful warmth she provided, sighing softly he gently ran his fingers up her forearm to her elbow and back down, wanting to ease her from her slumber. After earning a huff of ‘five more minutes’ Soven got up with an amused twinkle in his eye, the Vulcan concluded that he could get her up after getting himself ready. Soon Melody got up, and the pair walked down the hall to her quarters. “Hey Soven, wanna race to my door? There’s no one around.” Melody said in a sing song voice grinning. “We are not children Melody we shall walk” Soven responded in a tone much like one would to a child getting into mischief. “Oh alright, I just thought it would be fun. Get the blood pumping and help us finish waking up? No? Fine.” Pouting Melody sighed sounding as sad and pathetic as she could manage. As they were walking Soven glanced over at her and saw the pout out of the corner of his eye. On a spur of the moment Soven picked up his pace, speed walking past Melody and looking back over his shoulder making sure she saw the small smile that he let slip by. A huge grin was on Melody’s face as she let out a gleeful laugh and sped up to try to pass Soven. By the time they reach her quarters the pair were practically jogging, both racing to place their hand on the door first. “First!” Melody exclaimed giggling. “I disagree, I believe I was first.” Soven slightly tilted his head up in false playful haughtiness though his tone and facial expressions were seemly passive. The two were facing each other, Soven with his left hand on the door and Melody with her right, their pointer fingers were brushing up against each other. The Vulcan repressed a shudder at the contact and paused to consider something before he hesitantly raised his free hand, gently brushing a wayward lock of platinum hair behind Melody’s ear, fingers tracing the round shell of her ear softly. She tilts her head to lean into the palm of his hand enjoying the contact. His icy blue eyes glance down for a moment, an unreadable expression on his face causing Melody to furrow her brows in confusion. Her lips part with a question that is silenced when Soven closed the distance between them, his mouth is soft and gentle against hers with a shy restrained tenderness. Melody’s breath had caught in her throat, but she came out of her stupor and returned the kiss before Soven lost confidence. He is very rarely the one to instigate physical affection and had never before been the one to make the first move on something like a human kiss while Melody was definitely an instigator though she took special care in making sure to never push Soven into anything. “A kiss for good luck?” Melody joked though she was on cloud nine right now. “Vulcans do not believe in illogical things such as luck” Soven said impassivity. “Well then, all the more luck for me” She retorted with a grin. Soven hummed with what was either agreement or thoughtfulness. “I must report to my station.” “See ya when I get back. Love you Soven.” At that Soven stiffened before giving a single nod in acknowledgement and departed before he said something he shouldn’t. He was terrified she wouldn’t return, and fear wasn’t something a Vulcan was allowed to feel. The outcome of this mission whether it be good or bad was out of his control and even if he wanted to hold onto her and convince her to stay, even go to star fleet and demand they send someone in her place-no he couldn’t those thoughts where completely illogical not only that, but Melody was determined to do all she could to save her home. Something that important to her, Soven didn’t have the heart to stand in her way. Watching Soven leave Melody smiled to herself and stood there shaking her head for a moment then entered the key code and went to get ready once the door to her room opened. The shuttle craft that would be dropping her off would be leaving in three hours. Location: Xindi star Ship The federation arranged for a shuttle craft to have ‘technical difficulties’ and crash land near one of the Xindi outposts on an asteroid. There Melody would separate a guard from the investigating team, taking them out and taking their ID and returning to the scout group in their place. Star fleet Intelligence officer Melody Steorra had effectively infiltrated the Xindi ranks masquerading as one of the higher raking officers/assassins. The next couple of days where nerve racking as she attended meetings and gathered information, mainly on Xindi weapons and trying to get a hold of their battle tactics. So far, the mission had been a success, and some would say easy, too easy, it was something that unnerved her. Now all she had to do was board the Xindi cruiser with the guards for her ‘mission’ and wait for star fleet to attack which would provide her a widow of opportunity to escape during all the confusion of the fight. The dim lights flickered as she made her way down the hallway with a squad of Xindi soldiers flanking her as she boarded the cruiser. Sitting down at her station she reasoned that while she waited there was no reason why she couldn’t use the access codes she acquired and download a few schematics on the Xindi cruisers. The data was almost fully downloaded when she noticed something was off, now she was no technical engineer by any means, but she had spent enough time watching Soven work and listening to him explain what he was working on to know the energy reading from the ships power core where off. The Xindi cruisers alarm sounded right on schedule snapping her out of her thoughts as an orchestrated attack planned by star fleet was under way. Checking the ships coordinates she realized they were going the wrong way, the Xindi cruiser she was on was being covered by other ships allowing them to slip away. That wasn’t right this was a strike class vessel it was built to fight, according to past experiences it wouldn’t retreat without direct orders from the Xindi council usually only if they had gathered sensitive intelligence, they wanted to make sure got back or in this case ‘sensitive information they didn’t want star fleet seeing.’ Melody mentally kicked herself for not noticing it sooner, if anything the regimen change should have been a red flag, the new set of guards where of a lower rank and by Xindi standards that meant expendable. Her instincts were correct this mission had been too easy, at this time the best course of action she had to grab all the information her data recorder could carry and find a way off this ship before the core completely overloaded killing them and taking her out with them. Taking a chance, she blasted the nearest guards to her and did her best to take cover behind control panels, but one of the two remaining guards shot the blaster in her hand. The laser beam grazed her hand, she hissed at the burning sensation and dropped the now sparking weapon. Melody cradled the burned hand to her chest and made a break for the corridor to one of the escape pods. She wouldn’t make it however because the remaining two guards put the ship on lock down predicting her next move would be to head for the escape pods, heavy metal doors came down and cut the ships command deck off from the rest of the ship. Not a second later after lockdown was issued did the warning siren go off signaling the ships core reactor was extremely unstable, in just a few short minutes the ship would blow. Growling in frustration she realized her only chance of surviving now was the transporter. With any luck they might be close enough to a planet or moon, she could beam down somewhere but she would have to grab a message transmitter to contact Starfleet and request a pickup. She spotted the device in question across the room at a workstation near the second Xindi guard, while the first guard wasn’t too far away guarding the transporter. Considering the current odds with the ship threatening to explode, Melody decided to take the risk and rushed the second guard. The Xindi tried to shoot her but she managed to dodge and grab him around the wrist, twisting it painfully so he dropped the blaster. Then she managed to swing her body weight around to force the second guard to move in between herself and the remaining guard who was so quick to start shooting at the federation spy that he took out one of his own. Before the remaining guard started firing again, Melody swiftly ducked down and grabbed the blaster the fallen Xindi soldier dropped. Weapon in hand, she tried to return fire, but the blaster was out of power so in a ‘screw it’ moment she threw the blaster right at the guard and tackled him. They struggled each landing blows until Melody was able to land a hard punch to the guard’s face knocking him out. The transporter was just barely 3 meters away, getting there would have been easy if it weren’t for the sudden stabbing pain in her side. On reflex her hand dropped what it was holding and flew to her injury, the transmitter clunked to the ground. The soldier had only been dazed and was able to recover and stab the federation officer then he was quick to crush the device under his foot before she had a chance to collect her senses and take back the device. Using a last bit of strength, she pushed the soldier into a nearby console. Melody staggered over to the control panels, a trail of blood dripping onto the ship’s metal floor “Alert! Alert! M-Mel-Meltdown im-imminent!” The ships computer sounded, metallic voice distorting due to the damaged sustained and the overloading systems. Now Melody was definitely out of time. Location: Star Ship Atlantis The crew cannot find the Xindi transport, Atlantis picks up an energy fluctuation not too far from the transports last known location. The ship sustained bad damage and is in need of repairs. A member of the engineering team Finn O’Donnell almost ran into Soven turning the corner on level seven. “Second Lieutenant O’Donnell, are you not supposed to be at your post down in the engine room making repairs?” Soven stood in front of the engineer who was definitely away from his post. “Sorry, commander Soven sir, I had forgotten my sonic driver. It won’t happen again I will return to my post and continue engine room repairs immediately.” Finn gave a rushed reply before trying to move past his superior. “Wait.” The tone of voice while even was laced with a held back hostility and left no room for debate. Soven needed more information especially if it gave him an idea on who compromised Melody. “Commander Soven sir?” Finn froze, he had never heard the Vulcan use that tone of voice it was unnerving to say the least. “I was in the engine room, as I was working on my portion of the repairs, I was supervising the members of my team as well. That includes you Second Lieutenant O’Donnell and I saw the repairs you made to the subspace field coils. Repairs you could not have made without the use of a sonic screwdriver.” “You had one in your possession when I saw you half an hour ago.” Soven had to stop himself from shooting his reply back, this was no time to be emotional. There is never a time a vulcan wants to be openly emotional anymore. “I…I borrowed one, sir” Finn paused to stop from stuttering. “From whom, second Lieutenant?” Soven pressed, icy blue eyes piercing into the second lieutenant under his command. “Lieutenant Zhou.” This felt like an interrogation all Finn needed was his superior to shine a bright light in his face. “Dismissed.” For Soven the conversation began and ended in the blink of an eye but for Finn it felt like an eternity. At that Finn strode passed Soven, piercing eyes watched the red head leave then he departed on his way planning to confirm the truth of that statement later. Once Soven reached the correct panels in a maintenance room he soon found evidence warranting a call to the Captain stating that the damage to that area, there was no doubt now that there was a security breach. As he was fixing the circuits there was rewiring to be done, it was almost routine at this point but not being as used to human technology as Vulcan he decided to check the schematics on his data pad to double check and. Ensure his work was one hundred percent correct. Soven entered the code when the home screen image that flashed made him freeze. It was one he had seen it a thousand times and he even took the photo but now with Melody’s fate unknown, the photo caused a painful mixture of bitter dread and sweet nostalgia to boil up like bile. The door slid open behind him and Soven could’ve swore his heart skipped a beat, but he coolly swiped the photo away and to the diagram he needed. A quick glance over his shoulder and Soven made sure to put most of his energy on repressing his emotions, though this was no normal day or situation it didn’t excuse how much he had neglected his control. “Hello Velik, I am making critical repairs and cannot be interrupted.” The emotionless voice Soven had honed over his lifetime spoke. “I am here simply to conduct a search before continuing my investigation on level 3 in the intelligence wing.” An older graying Vulcan, the Atlantis’s Chief of security answered. “Should you have not started there since it was Melody’s work that was tampered with?” Soven continued his work on the wiring as the older Vulcan looked on. “Assuming it was tampering, and that Agent Steorra has not allowed herself to be distracted or made any critical mistakes.” Velik bluntly stated. “I am certain Agent Steorra was and is doing all that is possible at this time to ensure the success of this mission.” Soven had to focus on keeping his voice even and suppressing his irritation. Velik was an old friend of Soven’s father and was something of a mentor to Soven. The two were close having related in understanding the hardships a Vulcan had adjusting to life away from home on a human starship. “Indeed.” Velik responded in a tone that suggested the conversation was finished however he added a last thought. “Your emotions have been closer to the surface today perhaps the human female is what’s clouding your judgement. It would be logical for one to consider doing away with things that could compromise one emotionally.” The graying Vulcan eyed Soven trying to gage how the younger male took his words, Velik sincerely hoped his words would be truly considered, seeing as to him Melody was clearly a very poor choice of a potential mate. “…” Out of respect Soven chose not to reply but gave a nod in acknowledgment to which Velik returned before leaving. Diligently Soven returned to his work, forcing himself to focus after all, logically there was nothing else for him to do but continue his work and possibly false confidence in that he would receive some good news about Melody. He found solace in thinking to himself that maybe she would be already back on the station by the time he was done. Regardless Soven did have one question stuck in his mind ‘who would or rather who could be capable of betraying Melody’ to him it wasn’t fathomable that someone would even think to betray her. Location: Unknown Class M Planet Webs of light sparked in spiral patterns in the air before Melody’s form materialized, the rocky ground crunched under her shoes as she was left standing there clutching her side. With legs feeling like led she shakily sits down taking a moment to catch her breath. Taking the moment to look around and see where she ended up at. Gloomy walls of crumbling jagged rock towered all around her cascading dark shadows into the narrow canyon valley, it seemed that this canyon that she had beamed into stretched for a long way in either direction both in front and behind her. Slowing her breathing Melody started wracking her brain for any sort of idea, anything at all that could help her get out of the canyon or send a signal do anything to attract the attention of Starfleet. Before long, her thoughts were interrupted by a loud rumble coming from above, it echoed throughout the canyon causing Melody to look up and see a ship crashing down. It was burning bright in the sky; little pieces of metal flew off in all directions. The entire structure looked compromised Melody thought to herself as she watched its rough entry through the atmosphere but hopefully the heatshield plating would hold together enough that once it landed there might be something intact for her to use. A small burst of energy surged through her at the thought, it was a glimmer of hope, maybe false hope but hope, nonetheless. That was until she was interrupted by a loud bang, a stary piece of debris from the ship crashed into the wall not too far from here. With more micro shards of the ship falling around her, she needed to take shelter. One well-placed piece of hot metal falling from that high of an altitude would definitely pierce her skull, killing her; so, forcing herself up she moved quickly to take shelter under an outcrop of rock jutting out from the wall. It wasn’t the best or most concealing, but it should suffice at putting a roof over her head for now. Moving so quickly had drained what energy she had, before she knew it, she had laid down on the dirt and gravel of the canyon floor, heavy eyes closing against her will. She couldn’t tell if mere minutes or several hours had past but what she did know was that it was getting dark quickly. Coming back into a hazy consciousness Melody tried forcing her eyes open. If there was any chance of her returning to Atlantis and Soven much less surviving the night, then something had to be done soon. Blurry unfocused green eyes scanned the area before landing on a twisted dead tree sticking out of the canyon wall not too far from where she laid, its dry brittle bark peeling off the decomposing wood. ‘Looks dry enough for a fire, if I can just get over there’ Melody thought, getting to work on crawling over and breaking off branches to get a fire going. She arranged the kindling under her rock alcove, somewhat sheltered from the wind and got a fire going by striking two pieces of metal debris together. Once the fire was big enough, she laid a piece of metal half into the fire to heat up. When picking up the metal from the fire Melody felt pressure build behind her eyes with a strong wave of wooziness, she couldn’t tell if it was from the blood loss or the anxiety of what she was about to do. She yanked out the blade, putting all her energy into focusing on steadying her shaking hand, the blonde braced herself and pressed the red-hot metal to the wound on her side. Location: Federation Star Ship Atlantis {Oceans- Seafret} Star Fleet scanners thoroughly searched the wreckage for escape pods or even a body but the only thing they could pick up remotely human was large traces of blood on space debris. Just to be certain they send out a prob to retrieve the wreckage to analyze the samples. Unfortunately, the blood was undeniably Melody’s. Captain Jones had an announcement to make to the crew and some bad news to deliver to her family but first there was someone who had been waiting to hear the results of the search. Soven had asked to be kept updated on the status of the search for Melody. The Vulcan in question was with his engineering team making repairs to the ship in the engine room. “Commander Soven, I would like to see you in my office.” The Captains voice spoke through the com badge. He replied to the Captain with a quick ‘on my way’ and took the turbo lift up to level one. Soven found Everette sitting at his desk, his head was down, and he was pinching the bridge of his nose. Hearing the door open and Soven enter, the captain raised his head and looked up with tired eyes then motioned for Soven to take a seat. “This is hard for me to say but I thought you would want to know before I made the official announcement. Melody is…deceased. While the recovery team couldn’t find any definitive remains most likely due to the ship melting down, what was found however was a large amount of blood traces on debris we analyzed from the wreckage.” “I see…I would like to be excused for today Captain Jones. The critical repairs have all been made and I am confident that the rest of the engineering team can manage without me. If there is an emergency, they can contact me sir.” Soven didn’t seem to be completely there as he spoke in a monotone voice. “You are excused for today Commander.” Captain Everette Jones replied formally to match Soven, but he decided to add “If you need anything don’t hesitate to reach out Soven.” All Everette Jones got in response was a curt nod and with that Soven was out of the office. The announcement was made over the inner com as he walked back to his quarters in silence ignoring any attempts by the crew to check on him or express their condolences. Getting back to his quarters he had no idea what to do with himself, the door shut behind him with a mechanical woosh and he simply stood there in the middle of his room, thoughts racing. “Humans are unreliable. They make promises they simply cannot keep!” Soven whisper yells to himself all the while trying to convince himself that the frustration he feels has nothing to do with Melody but is because he will have to assist and acclimate the replacement officer. He briefly paces before his eyes catch a glimpse of an obnoxiously bright Tie dye hoody, it’s wrinkled, and half covered in the sheets of Soven’s bed. He walks over slowly as if in a trance. His mind all but screaming at him to rush over and try to grapple onto anything that would give the illusion Melody was still there. The evidence was there but he couldn’t believe she was gone. “Melody…” It takes the last bit of strength he has left for his voice not to crack at her name. He grabs the hoodie with trembling hands, it’s nauseatingly bright colors that normally hurt his eyes don’t seem bright enough. Carefully holding it in his arms as if it would shatter any second like glass. Tears blur his vision and just like that his knees give out leaving him sitting on the floor. In an act of desperation, he presses the hoodie up to his nose doing all he can to brand her memory to his brain. Eventually the perfume will fade as time moves on. He knows he must move forward but, how can he? His starlight is gone and for the first time in his life he understands regret for the words he never said back “I…love you too”. Location: Unknown Class M Planet When the sun went down, the canyon became pitch black causing the temperature to drop. It wasn’t cold enough to be freezing which luckily meant the end of the limited firewood wouldn’t be the end for Melody. The wind howled, whipping around through the winding maze of canyons littering the planet during this otherwise peaceful night. Something in the atmosphere changed though, Melody jolted awake in a cold sweat, goosebumps broke out on her skin but not from the cool temperature. Taking a deep breath, she did her best to compose herself looking around and out into the darkness the best she could. Finally, she decides to settle back down brushing the feeling off as being awoken by a nightmare knowing there is a long day ahead of her tomorrow and she will need her strength. Suddenly a piercing screech cuts through the silence. Melody’s eyes fly open and she scrambles to grab a nearby jagged piece of metal debris holding it like a knife as she tries her best to scan the area. A sense of dread worse than before pools in her stomach with the realization that she is not alone on this planet, and whatever made that horrific screech was too close for comfort…

Duuuude I made a mistake I just realized it would be better/more in character for this (Kash: History has shown us that conflict and war are the crucibles in which we evolve… *eats Soven’s leftovers and puts the empty container in Melody’s room*)
to be this
Varen: “History has shown us that conflict and war are the crucibles in which we evolve…” *eats Soven’s leftovers and puts the empty container in Kash’s room*
(since Kash and Soven had that game night scrabble argument plus it’s in line with enterprise the romulan a trying to start fights between Andor and Vulcan 😂 and you know Varen is a natural instigator)
Ahhhhh, that fits even better! Varen is juuuust sneaky enough to do that. I love him so fucking much. I love all your OC's so fucking much! And you, fren! 💙 I hope you're doing well. ILYSM!

Hey friend! How are you? 😄
Also 😂 I was rewatching friends and have to do this with Soven, Melody, Kash, and Camille. *They are temporarily at a outpost base while the ship has maintenance done. Camille and Kash are sitting at a table in the mess hall eating when Soven briskly walks over and sits down with them.*
Soven: “I was heading to the showers when I saw Melody in the hallway heading to her room. In only a towel. As she had forgotten her clothes. Then she thought it was logical to stop for a moment and talk to me before hugging me goodbye and continuing on her way…it was torture.”
Kash: “You know if the treaty breaks and we go to war you’re in for a Big surprise Vulcan.”
Hey friend! 💙 I'm doing alright! How about you?? Staying hydrated? Rested? Fed? Are you being good to yourself??
Pffff, bless Soven and his sweet, sweet obliviousness. At least Kash sees what's going on. 😂 Melody's practically waving a flag at Soven that says "I love you!" and he's just... *fwoosh* Right over his head. 😂 Soven, really...

Melody and Varen are running for their lives down the hall after pulling a prank on a jerk of a Klingon soldier who was there as part of the team guarding a Klingon ambassador. Panting Melody calls Soven hoping to get an idea on how to get out of the situation or just some help
Melody: *Gasp* “Soven! Quick I *pant* need-“
Soven: “Are you running?”
Melody: “No Soven I’m relaxing on the couch, reading my new book with a cup of tea-“
Varen: “Yes! We are running!”
Soven: “Is that Varen?”
Melody: “Yes! *panting* Anyway not that I don’t absolutely love catching up but we need some help- we kinda did something very very very bad Soven and need some help” *gives a nervous laugh*
Soven: *Blinks*…*sigh* “Very well put the corpse on ice I will be at your location in five minutes.” *ends call*
Melody: *mouth open and closes silently*
Varen: “You human have got yourself a good mate.”
Melody: “Why would Soven-What does he think-Wha-Huh?!”
Varen: *laughs until the angry war cry of an incoming Klingon soldier cuts him off* “You have life insurance right?”
Melody: “I don’t think they cover this”
*Angry Klingon in the background* “ghe'torDaq luSpet 'oH DaqlIj'e'! You hear me pests!”
Melody and Varen: *Gulps*
Omg, I love that Soven was just instantly ready to help her hide a body. Like, no questions asked, just "put the corpse on ice." 😂
10000/10. Yes indeed! Varen was right. Soven is such a good mate. 💖

Okay last part friend 😂 so Melody explains to Soven that instead of embarrassing or hurting Jorik’s feelings (Incase he actually liked the jacket) that they should get ugly Christmas attire she gets an ugly Christmas sweater dress and Soven gets an ugly Christmas sweater print jacket different but like Joriks. They show up just after him when everyone is staring at poor Jorik. Melody smiled “Tis the season, why not have fun with what we wear?” Soven nods “Indeed…festive.” (Soven hates it 😂)
OH MY GOD, THEY JOIN HIM??? YEEEESSSSS!!! *brain go brrrrrrrr*
Jorik would be honored that they joined him (not that he would have minded if he was the only one there in Ugly Christmas Attire). He also would definitely notice how sweet that gesture was and do his best to make sure they enjoyed themselves as a sort of a 'thank you.' (Not to mention the fact that he'd already gotten them gifts by that point. After the kind gesture of them joining him, he'd definitely add a little something extra to those gifts.)
God, that is so sweet! I love it!

The third thing I’ve been thinking about would be the night of the Christmas party with Jorik (your oc) wearing that ugly Christmas print tuxedo jacket. Earlier that day Melody had seen Jorik returning to his quarters with it after buying it for the party while on a lunch break. So of course after sharing a look with Soven who’s been through two Christmas’s with Melody at this point and understands enough to know that’s an ugly sweater. Melody waves come on to Soven and they-
YES, Jorik in the Ugly Christmas Sweater/Jacket/Thing!! (For the record, he totally would love that jacket. Hideous, chaotic, and oddly endearing.)
I would really love to see that interaction.

Okay hear me out😂 this isn’t related to the story just a thought but-
A vulcan (im probs gonna use Soven in my example) his pon farr starts and in the middle of working he gets uncontrollably mad and breaks the console while shouting at it. His human mate (Melody) is sensitive to people raising their voice (one of the reason she adores Soven is he never does) anyway she reflexively starts crying and because Vulcans have such sensitive noses he can smell the pheromones released when she cries (Tears shed by women contain chemical signals that decrease sexual arousal and lower testosterone levels in men.)
So Soven is floored and gets a moment of clarity from his blood fever, next thing he knows he is rushing over to cradle her in a hug against his chest mortified running his fingers through her hair smoothing it down…
That’s all I got 😂
FRIEND. F R I E N D. MY HEART.
Istg, Melody and Soven are SO CUTE. I can totally see that happening, and it’s adorable, and I didn’t know I needed it, but I very clearly DID. Bless you for making this a thing that I can imagine now!!!

(Ma boys :> also Melody nooo XD) Soven: Date someone who can look beyond your past
Kash: No, you wanna date someone who can see you through your flaws
Melody: Yeah, you wanna date a boy who can disregard you Cracker Barrel arson charge
Veren: You want to date a boy who was your accomplice in the Cracker Barrel arson
Sandra: Veren!
Soven: That would be illogical as Melody already has a boyfriend. Also you are not her….type (polite Vulcan way of saying suck it, your not good enough for her anyway)
Camille: *slowly raises hand* I have so many questions now
MY CHILDREN HAVE RETURNED! (In which I am Camille 😂) I have many questions about wtf happened and how both Melody and Veren were involved! 👀 Bless you for giving us this interaction, friend!

I decided to do a mash up with the Melody x Soven (who are typically on Atlantis) and Varen x Sandra (our favorite rogue criminal romulan and security officer/detective who live on a space station sorta like ds9)
So the Atlantis crew docked at the station for maintenance repairs and it’s right before Halloween. Soven was waiting for Melody to get out of a debriefing and had decided to save them a table in one of the station’s restaurants. (Soven like most people especially like all Vulcan’s is weary of the Romulan Varen on board). Varen saw Soven sitting alone and decided to entertain himself by messing with the vulcan.
“Jolan tru, Soven” Varren said as he slipped into the empty chair that was being saved for Melody
“Greetings…” Soven was suppressing a cocktail of emotions right now; the urge to jump startled at the appearance of a romulan, distrust and skepticism at the sight of the stranger sitting down, he was caught between wanting to flee and the growing anger at the audacity of this stranger taking a seat specially saved for Melody. Soven took care in grabbing the last available booth by the window knowing Melody would love to look out at the array of colors the nearby nebula provided.
“Varen.” The Romulun finished introducing himself.
“Indeed” Soven said simply glancing around to see if there was anyway to get the stranger to leave
“So getting down to business, I know you spend a lot of time around that human lady friend of yours and was wondering if you would be so kind as to indulge me in a conversation about a certain upcoming human holiday.” Varen intertwined his fingers together on the table in a ‘let’s get down to business’ fashion.
“I do not think I will.” Soven answered flatly almost in a manner of fact way.
“Ah-but is it not logical to share common knowledge with a curious stranger especially if it could help prevent a cross cultural misunderstanding during the holidays.” The Romulan was smirking now and Soven knowing he had been backed into a corner stayed silent.
“Now here is my question I believe the phrase is Trick or Yeet?” Varen stated putting an innocent smile on his face
“Yeet?” Soven was confused
“Sure” Varen snatched and threw Sovens menu.
“MMFT” Soven let out a disgruntled noise and made the mistake of letting his guard down to lean over in his chair and grab the menu. That’s when Varen struck grabbing Soven’s wallet and running.
The space station’s security officer had seen Varen saunter up to Soven’s table and decided to keep an eye on the Romulan. When Varen tried to exit the restaurant he was tackled by Sandra who took the wallet from his hands and held Varen by his ear dragged him over to the shell shocked Vulcan.
“Here is your wallet sir, it won’t happen again. RIGHT VAREN?” Sandra gave Soven his wallet and spoke to him kindly before turning back to Varen and lightly tugging on his ear forcing an apology out of him.
“I’m sorry…that Vulcans are so gullible-“
“VAREN” Sandra snapped like a disappointed mother
“Alright-ALRIGHT IM SORRY SHEESH”
“Aaaand that is five more months on your parole” Sandra shook her head before muttering something about paperwork and then took her leave dragging Varen to the security office with her.
Soven just gripped his wallet to him and had his eyes glued on the romulan criminal until he was out of sight.
“Hiya Soven whatcha lookin at?”
Soven nearly jumped out of his skin, he was so distracted he didn’t notice Melody had walked up-
(The end 😂 I hope you find this as funny as I did)
PFFF I love this! 😂😂😂 I’m cackling. Varen and Sandra are just *chef’s kiss* And Soven and Varen’s interactions are wonderful. I’m dying, this is amazing. You are brilliant, Azora!
Also “TRICK OR YEET” – I’m w h e e z i n g

Honestly 😂 Soven when Melody drives
“T'hy'la…the speed limit says 60 and you are going 75-it would be logical to slow down”
“Soven honey, here on earth sometimes you just gotta keep up with traffic because being slow when everyone is going faster can be more dangerous.”
“…” *Soven internally ‘this is the women I have chosen to love-and this is how I die’ *
😂 Aww, bless Soven. He’s such a sweetheart. I can totally see that being a thing! 💙 Melody’s just driving totally normally for a human, because unspoken rules of traffic, and Soven’s just sitting there very stiff and alarmed because speed. 👀
God, I love them so much!
