The Ruling Princes and Princesses of Dorne
Leaders of Dorne During and Post Nymeria’s Conquest
Morgan Martell - Wentworth Miller
I just thought it would be cool if the line came from a multiracial Morgan Martell.
Mors Martell - Miguel Ángel Silvestre
The coming of the Rhoynar to Dorne is clearly inspired by Moorish Spain so I specifically chose a Spanish actor for Mors.
Nymeria of Ny Sar - Sofia Boutella
Since the inspirations for the Rhoynar are Moorish Spain and Dorne is Palestine, I focused on choose Maghrebi/North African and Palestinian faceclaims for the characters from here onward.
I think Sofia actually looks kinda like some of the drawings for Nymeria as well!
Morra Nymeros Martell - Hiam Abbass
I chose the name Morra because I thought Nymeria would want to name her first born, likely knowing there would be some push back against a woman inheriting, after the father whose seat she’d be taking over.
I also thought Morra would likely be a bit older considering Nymeria lived for so long
Mors II Nymeros Martell - Takfarines Bengana
The Red Princes
We aren’t told why they rule together.
I figured that meant either they were triplets and the oldest decided they should rule together, or that the oldest was sickly and decided to give their siblings ruling power to help cover the gaps they wouldn’t be able to fill as a disabled ruler.
With that in mind, I tried to find people around the same age, and gave them all “M” names because George loves naming conventions like that. I like to believe Myria is the oldest and the disabled one, with Mellei as the leader of her forces and Manfrey as her right hand in Sunspear.
Myria Nymeros Martell - Hafsia Herzei
I completely made this name up
It should be pronounced MY-ree-uh.
I combined the “Ny” sound from Nymeria but with the M from Mors, then added the “ria” because a number of female Dornish names end in “ia.”
Manfrey Nymeros Martell - Rami Malek
There’s a Dornish character named Manfrey, one of Doran’s cousins.
Mellei Nymeros Martell - Nadia Hilker
One of the two servants that Doran assigns to Arianne is named Mellei.
I figured it was likely an old fashioned Dornish name, along with Morra.

HOUSE MARTELL
Nymeria, the warrior queen of the Rhoyne, brought her ten thousand ships to land in Dorne, the southernmost of the Seven Kingdoms, and took Lord Mors Martell to husband. With her help, he vanquished his rivals to rule all Dorne.
The Rhoynar influence remains strong. Thus Dornish rulers style themselves “Prince” rather than “King.” Under Dornish law, lands and titles pass to the eldest child, not the eldest male.
Dorne, alone of the Seven Kingdoms, was never conquered by Aegon the Dragon. It was not permanently joined to the realm until two hundred years later, and then by marriage and treaty, not the sword.
Peaceable King Daeron II succeeded where the warriors had failed by wedding the Dornish princess Myriah and giving his own sister in marriage to the reigning Prince of Dorne.
The Martell banner is a red sun pierced by a golden spear.
Their words are Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken.
The principal houses sworn to Sunspear include Jordayne, Santagar, Allyrion, Toland, Yronwood, Wyl, Fowler, and Dayne.

Sailing on ten thousand ships, Princess Nymeria led the Rhoynar to southeastern Dorne. Nymeria married Lord Mors Martell of the Sandship, forming House Nymeros Martell, and the Rhoynar intermarried with the bannermen of Mors. Nymeria named her husband "Prince of Dorne", using the Rhoynish term instead of the Westerosi title of "king".
Dorne successfully resisted House Targaryen during Aegon's Conquest and First Dornish War. When Dorne was peacefully incorporated into the Seven Kingdoms during the reign of Daeron II Targaryen, the Dornishmen received concessions from the Iron Throne, unlike the other Great Houses. Among these were the right to retain the Dornish royal title of prince, while the rulers of the other regions of the Seven Kingdoms had been reduced to wardens or lords paramount during the Conquest and forced to give up their royal titles and crowns.

The Dragon Prince & The Sun Princess
Chapter 2
Aemond Targaryen x Reader
Warnings ⚠️: some misogyny, use of the word whore, my English, a shorter chapter, fem!reader
Word Count: 1387
Summary: it's 126 AC, after 6 years, you're finally going back to King's Landing, but only this time you'll bow to no one.
Tumblr media
126 AC, Dorne, Sunspear, Princess (Y/N)s Chambers
"Another gift for you, my Princess." Ella said, in her hands holding a wooden chest.
"Thank you, Ella, you can put it by the bed" you told her, still looking at the letter before you, the content inside filling you with excitement. "Ella, could you please send for my parents, I wish to speak with them." Ella bowed before leaving the room. The wooden chair creaked slightly as you stood up, going to the mysterious chest.
The room wasn't grand, but it made up for it with its vibrant green walls, and the most beautiful iconography of all the Dornish women like Nymeria Martell, made by yourself.
Your footsteps echoing softly across the cool yellow stone floor. Upon a closer look the chest had carvings in the shape of a Dragon, just one Dragon. Grabbing the hair pins from your hair you decide to unlock it. The inside of the chest was full of straws, and on top of them, a silver key with a red gem in the centre. This cannot be all, you thought to yourself, immediately pulling out the straws until you've reached the bottom. There was nothing. Now what? You asked yourself, anger rising, slamming the chest on the side, when the bottom drawer moves up slightly. You hit it again, it moves. Grabbing a small stick you put it under the drawer in the hole, slowly pulling it up. Under the secret drawer was a smaller silver chest with red gems pressed into its front. Inside was a letter, you decided to read it.
"Princess (Y/N),
I've just gotten your generous gift for my son.
My Aemond and I are grateful, I'm sending my gratitude  with a little gift of our own.
Which is why I must extend an invitation to King's Landing during the social season.
Yours Sincerely,
A.
Your mouth slowly stretches into a smile, no matter how much you want to stop it. It's been six years since you've left King's Landing for Dorne, and six years to become a woman from the child you left. You're now seven and ten, which makes you at the ideal age for marriage. Time had transformed you into a woman, you no longer had the body of a child, you were now with fuller breasts, and fuller hips, but no matter how many times men have proposed, you've always rejected them. Your parents wouldn't approve if you weren't willing. It's the start of the social season, where girls and boys would have their debut into the noble world, while looking for a marriage.
"(Y/N)? My little chickpea, are you inside?" Asked the deep voice of Mors Nymeros Martell, your father, coming into your chambers. "Ah, you're still awake, good, your mother and I have something to tell you." He looked relieved to see you, his dark eyes immediately softening.
"Now, you know how much we respect you so you have your private space, right?" He asked, sitting on the floor, cross legged, his silver-green tunic spreading out. "I've noticed you have been receiving more gifts from an admirer…?" He asked you quietly, leaning in towards you slightly.
"I'll tell you, if you promise not to get angry." The answer passed through your lips.
"Why would I get angry about you exploring love? I was once your age, don't forget that."  He said offended with a hand to his chest.
"Alright… I've been exchanging gifts with Prince Aemond Targaryen…" You trailed off quietly at the last part, turning your eyes away to look at the VERY interesting fly on the wall.
"Aemond Targaryen…. You've been communicating with a Targaryen?" He raised his voice in shock, standing up from his seat on the ground.
"That's why you've been missing supper, because you're always writing HIM." He made sure to put his anger on HIM.
"You can have everything else, but this. This I won't allow." He said, his voice firm.
"I've been there before, and no harm has come to me, I promise, I'll be alright." You looked to your father with determination in your eyes, his hands clasped yours.
"You can't promise that, sweetling, I'd hate to see you get hurt." He looked into your eyes frantically. "Remember what happened the last time you were there, and they did that to their own family, I'd hate to imagine what'll happen to you." He whispered desperately, putting his forehead against your own, his tears sliding down his face.
"I'll be alright, I have you and my mother." You told him, putting your hands around his body.
"If you're sure… I'll go speak with your mother."
The preparation for your journey to King's Landing had left your whole family in distress, your mother especially. She didn't like her little girl to be far away from her, into enemy territory, not after last time.
Your mother's tears hadn't ceased to stop as you held onto each other tightly, dreading to see the other go.
"You must write to me once a week at least, and you must be smart." Your mother grabbed your face, while looking deeply into your eyes, her own watery. She kissed your knuckles for the final time.
"I know you don't want to leave, but the ship will sail without us." Ella said softly, gently pulling onto your open hand. Your chambers on the ship were small, with just a king sized bed, a table, a bookshelf, and a chest to put your belongings in. Your slim golden dress dragging on the wooden floor.
In your palm you see a crumpled piece of paper. Opening it, you read:
"Little Blossom,
I know I can't do anything to change your mind, for you've made your own.
All I can do is offer you my support.
Of you get hurt I would curse them with the strength of a thousand Suns.
If you want to survive you have to play smart, King's Landing is full of dragons ready for blood.
Yours Always,
Mother"
You let out a sigh,  I will survive, no matter what.
Tumblr media
126 AC, King's Landing, Flea Bottom
You had been walking through King's Landing for a few hours with your lady-in-waiting, Ella, hoping to catch sight of something interesting before being locked into the Red Keep.
The streets of Flea Bottom had been the poorest of all the streets in King's Landing combined. All the petty crimes were happening here. The building's weren't as tall as those of the richer areas, but they still let out a menacing aura, being showing weakness in those parts of the world meant the worst.
All around were people with malnourished bodies, they were so frail that the only thing they were wearing under those rags were bones and skin. Sometimes they'd come up to you for a scrap of coins or some food, of which you had plenty, taking pity on them, you'd given them some of the coins you had on your person.
After walking for a while, Ella and you had found yourselves at the foot of a sketchy and dark alleyway at the end of Flea Bottom. You barely turned around, when you heard voices from your left side, with you coming to investigate. The people weren't what interested you, but WHAT or WHO they were talking about. That topic was Princess Rhaenyra, whom you haven't seen in 6 years. One of the thugs said "That whore had decided to come back from Dragonstone." Turning to the other. "I 'eard that the lil' Princess had her ex-husband killed, so she and her uncle, Prince Daemon, could marry." The other one whispered back, chugging the wine.
"That's one way to end a marriage, hah!" The others cackled at their funny joke.
"There is news of those Velaryons comin' to see the King!" Shouted the now drunk thug, with a smile on his face. "Apparently, he wants to name himself heir to the funny chair." Whispered softly to the others, not aware that there was someone listening at the window.
"- some people believe that Princess (Y/N) was so disgusted by what she heard that she never spoke of it to anyone. Others on the other hand believe that she may have started those rumours to go against The Black Faction- Princess Rhaenyras supporters- that she fully conspired to put Rhaenyra's younger half-brother on the throne, therefore joining the The Green Faction."
You have a choice:
To leave and to forget this happened
Or
To start gathering intel

PERSONAJES CANON
PERSONAJES SEMICANON
001 ― DISPONIBLE | Manfrey Nymeros Martell Edad: 18 años Datos: Caballero. Sobrino de Meria y Lewyn Martell.
002 ― DISPONIBLE | Edgar Yronwood Edad: 37 años Datos: Sangre Regia, Señor de Palosanto y Guardián del Camino Pedregoso.
PERSONAJES ORIGINALES
Se interpretarán como primos lejanos de los Martell gobernantes.

Princess Nymeria of Ny Sar ☀️⚔️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To celebrate unions into Dorne, Nymeria burned 10,000 Rhoynish ships. “Our wanderings are at an end,” she declared. “We have found a new home, and here we shall live and die.” In the light of their burning, Princess Nymeria named Mors Martell the Prince of Dorne, in the Rhoynish style, asserting his dominion over “the red sands and the white, and all the lands and rivers from the mountains to the great salt sea.”

House Nymeros Martell: the Princess and Lewyn
In 247 AC or 248 AC, the Princess gave birth to her firstborn child, Doran. In the years that followed, she gave birth to two more sons, Mors and Olyvar, who died during infancy, and she miscarried several times. Nine years after the birth of Doran, the Princess gave birth to a daughter, Elia. Although born one month premature, the girl survived. A year later, the Princess gave birth to another son, Oberyn. The Princess was one of the ladies-in-waiting of Princess Rhaella Targaryen, and became friends with Joanna Lannister. Several years later, the Princess was accompanied on a journey by her daughter Elia, her younger son Oberyn, and her consort. From Dorne they travelled to several potential suitors for both Elia and Oberyn. Although she had learned of Joanna Lannister's death in childbirth while at Oldtown in 273 AC, the Princess decided to travel onwards to Casterly Rock. Waiting until it was politely decent, the Princess eventually broached the subject of marriage to Lord Tywin Lannister. She first suggested a match between Cersei and Oberyn, next a match between Elia and Jaime. Tywin refused both matches brusquely, informing the Princess how Cersei was meant to marry the crown prince, Rhaegar Targaryen. When Tywin suggested the new-born Tyrion as betrothed to Elia instead, the Princess took the suggestion as an insult. In 279 AC, the Princess succeeded in betrothing Elia to Rhaegar.By the time Elia married the prince in early 280 AC, the Princess had already died.
Prince Lewyn was the younger brother of the Princess of Dorne. He was appointed a member of the Kingsguard in service of King Aerys Targaryen. During Robert's Rebellion, Aerys used Lewyn's niece, Princess Elia Martell, as a hostage against him, and sent him to command the ten thousand Dornishmen that were to join Prince Rhaegar Targaryen's force that was assembling to take on Lord Robert Baratheon. Lewyn died during the Battle of the Trident at the hands of Ser Lyn Corbray, although he was mortally wounded before his final duel with Lyn. Dorne was incensed by the deaths of Lewyn and Elia during the war, and Prince Oberyn Martell tried to raise the kingdom to support Viserys Targaryen, the surviving son of the late Aerys. In response, Lord Jon Arryn travelled to Sunspear the year after Robert took the throne to return the bones of Lewyn and was able to broker a peace with Doran Martell, the ruling Prince of Dorne. Arianne Martell recalls her great-uncle fondly, remembering when she was a little girl how her great-uncle Lewyn would tower over her and tickle her till she could barely breathe from laughter. It was a closely held secret that Prince Lewyn kept a paramour despite the Kingsguard oaths of chastity. Ser Barristan Selmy and his other sworn brothers were aware of this but kept their sworn brother's secret.

Sometimes I'm reminded of how Princess Nymeria is what the Targaryens wished they could have been.
They call the war Nymeria's War, but I think it should be called the Unification of Dorne instead.
She and her people didn't come to Dorne looking to conquer anything and force Rhoynar rule on everyone. No, she landed in Dorne, and spoke to Mors Martell. It was only after they married that they declared themselves Prince and Princess of Dorne, after they had a tie to the land they came to.
Several houses willingly chose to join them, like the Ullers and Tolands. They weren't ever fought against, so we can infer that they first sought a peaceful way to bring them under their rule.
Only one house went extinct during the course of their war, the Drylands. Notably, the Yronwoods survived. The same people that killed Mors. How many people would let them stay in power after that?
Her eldest daughter was her unquestioned heir, and ruled after her. Her daughter, not the son she was specifically noted to have with Davos Dayne. From then on, Dorne followed the Rhoynish custom of absolute primogeniture. The eldest child inherited regardless of gender.
Nymeria did not conquer Dorne. She unified it, and did it so well that we know of no civil wars in the millennium House Nymeros Martell has ruled Dorne.

Doran, Heir of Dorne
Tumblr media
Prince Doran Nymeros Martell, the Heir of Dorne
"I was the grass. Pleasant, complaisant, sweet-smelling, swaying with every breeze. Who fears to walk upon the grass? But it is the grass that hides the viper from his enemies and shelters him until he strikes."
Childhood & Youth
Doran is the first born child of his parents, and thus heir to his mother, the Princess of Dorne. For years, he was an only child, as his mother had several miscarriages. While he would have four siblings, Mors and Olyvar, both died in the cradle. Doran spent several years of his childhood at the Water Gardens, and by the age of nine, he was a squire to Lord Gargalen at Salt Shore. While there, his mother gave birth to his sister, Elia. As Elia had been born one month premature, Doran was convinced that his sister too would die, as their brothers had done before, but she survived. A year later, Doran's brother Oberyn was born.
As a young man, Doran took a tour through the Free Cities. He visited Volantis and next went to Norvos, where he met his future wife, Lady Mellario. They fell in love and Mellario returned to Dorne with Doran, where they were betrothed and would soon after marry. Areo Hotah escorted Mellario and entered the service of House Martell. Although Mellario was highborn enough to become his wife, most marriages between nobles in Westeros are political. A love match such as theirs is very uncommon. In 276 AC, Doran and Mellario's first child and heir, Arianne, was born. Around 279 AC, Doran inherited the rule of Dorne.

The Yronwood Family | Martell Mafia AU
"Dorne has no king."
Yronwoods see themselves as Dorne’s original kings. And they were, but theirs was a dry, lifeless land inhabited by pale mountain men of First Man origin and sun-burnt Andals masking brutality with worship of the Seven. The Citadel calls the old Dorne a hot, sandy mirror of Westeros’s cold, barren North. Perhaps this is why the Yronwoods of today find common cause with the Boltons.
Dorne became a country in her own right when Princess Nymeria burned her ships and wed her Sun to Mors Martell’s Spear, bringing vibrant Rhoynish customs to the desolate sands. Their warrior women rejected the second-class roles of their Andal counterparts, fighting with and often commanding their men. They accepted love outside the dull confines of one man to one woman (which everyone did behind closed doors—the Rhoynar forced Dorne to stop lying about it). And children born outside of marriage, once considered a shameful but common byproduct of uncontrolled lust, were embraced by their families as all children should be. Not added to lines of succession, of course, but worthy of care and affection nonetheless.
House Nymeros-Martell may have waged their war out of ambition, but they forged a better Dorne along the way.
Any old claims are just that: old claims to a land long forgotten.
