I made a list of my Most-Played Nintendo Switch games at July 2021,
simply 'cause I have fun making these, and 'cause it's nice to be surrounded by things that give me good vibes and fond memories.
My beloved Mad Rat Dead at 40 hours is the cutoff;
there are too many games at the 30-20 hour range, which include: Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age (30 hours), Celeste (30 hours), Sayonara Wild Hearts (25 hours), the multiplayer Moving Out (25 hours), the obscure Rhythm Fighter also makes it (20 hours), and finally the trio: Armello, Slay the Spire, Spyro Reignited Trilogy (20 hours each).
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is leading in hours not just by a landslide, but by a friggin' meteor strike. If you combine the playtimes of 4th until the 11th games on this list together, it would still be ~200 hours short of ACNH.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX was the first game I ever pre-ordered. PMD DX, along with ACNH, were the first time I’ve played a game from the moment I woke up until I went to sleep. It was a good time gaming in March 2020.
Pokémon Sword was the reason I bought my Switch, and dominated the first couple of months of my playtime. However, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the first game I played on my Switch; I already had a save file when I used to borrow my brother’s Switch.
Miitopia is the most recent game on the list, released in May 2021. Miitopia also holds the record for the longest time I’ve played the Demo of a game, at 15 hours. The next closest was DQXI’s Demo, at 5 hours.
Of the games in the list, Super Mario Odyssey is one I don’t really play anymore, but I do love me some Luigi’s Balloon World. I did similarly drop Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town after reaching the marriage goal, but replaying it recently makes me wanna relax with it: no rushing towards goals, just idyllic farming.
Is it obvious how much I love playing on the Nintendo Switch?
