[Sakura] Breaking Things Into Pieces - Kikuo

Merry Late Christmas! V6 updated with four new guys, and I'm just doing some tests with the four to see how they sound. I think Shion is my favorite of the four. I'm not the biggest fan of cutesy voices like Sakura's default, but she can be dropped down a bit in character, which is nice. I'm glad we got a knob back, can't wait for the rest. Fuiro also sounds different in the new update, she's like a bit deeper and rougher. I wonder if she was always meant to sound like that or if it just sort of happens.

I just had my 23rd birthday recently, and I was feeling a bit sentimental. I just recently found this song and I thought, maybe do something simple and sweet. [Fuiro Cover] Record Red - shr

After months of "yeah I'll get around to using her", I finally used her. She's sort of a softer voice than I initially thought, and I think I got over that like weird ear hump of "are her notes slightly off beat?", so I know how to properly time her now.

[Una Cover] Cigarette Daydreams - Cage The Elephant

I wish I had one of those golden ears, where you can immediately tell pitch by just sound, but I just have normal ears, so I have to trial and error everything. I hope I made the lingering end notes long/short enough.

I also messed with the Expression Tool with this one. I don't know if I'm doing it right, but I like connecting the two ends of the green line together. I would also mess with the vibrato if there was a spot in the song to do so, I was doing that with another cover.

I got the audio done before going to a con and the drawing after. The pose referenced is from the video artist Amazu.

I got Miku in a really fuzzy sound, complete with a sort of clipping sound that I have no idea how I achieved. This is a vocal synth buzz-positive zone, you sort of learn to enjoy it after a lot of industrial music.

[Mai and Wil Cover] Cendrillon - Dios/Signal

So I was testing out Wil's English capabilities in V6, I used a WIP of Better Off Worse. I accidentally left Mai on in that WIP, and I thought they sounded good together. That lead from that to this.

I designed a Mai for this. I'll upload it when I have a more proper-looking ref sheet. I'll do the same for any bank I have that doesn't have a face.

I started showing my friend about Synth V with a SV Basic and an Eleanor Forte. He doesn't know any Vocal Synth songs (to quote him directly, "My familiarity starts and ends with me wathcing [sic] a streamer play Project Diva a long ass fucking time ago"), but I feel he getting it.

[KYO Cover] Redundant - Green Day

So Zola Project came out today. I only had three hours of sleep due to IBS issues jolting me awake, and I worked on this cover before and after I slept. I really like these guys' voices, and I'm pleasantly surprised they have rock styles. I was also testing their English phenomes, and with Wil I tried with a Better Off Worse WIP. I forgot I left Mai on in the FL Studio file, and they ended up sounding really good together. I should make them duet at some point. Also, since Yuu and Wil are using V3 data, they're quieter than Kyo, so some gain should be added for the former two. I also found Yuu quit performing in 2015 for health issues, which might explain why they couldn't get him back into the booth, but haven't seen anything for Wil. And Kyo was in a virtual meeting in Bangkok for an opening ceremony in 2019. They put him in a suit and everything.

[Miku Cover] -ERROR - niki

I love me some fuzzy distorted guitars. I also found the effects section of the vocaloid audio channel, so I can put some gain inside the program instead of needing to do it outside. I tried going for some distortion for the main vocal, but it didn't really sound good so it's just on the backing vocals.

[MEIKO Cover] Rosary Pale by Shinjou-P

I worked on the Desert Song one before I went to Anime Central, and Rosary Pale was worked on after. Rosary Pale I keep feeling is a bit out of sync because I might have been on the wrong BPM the whole time I made it, but it is also the first one I made with an actual harmonic line, and I'm really proud of that. I also figured out the FL Studio Dynamic plug-in, so I can actually make the vocaloids above the mix instead of drowning in it even with the highest volume up. They're so quiet. The dynamic plug-in was added to Desert Song after I used it on Rosary Pale, and now you can actually hear Miku even in the soft parts.

[Miku] Live And Learn - Crush 40

I've been feeling tired recently. First after a trip I got ear fluid congestion which inflamed my tonsils and I had to take those giant antibiotic pills for it, and it went away for a couple days after the ten days, but now it's back but far far less inflamed, and Mom says it might be drainage coming from allergies. But I haven't had allergies before, so if I suddenly have allergies now to pollen or something I'm gonna be pissed.

I was originally going to put footage of the final battle in Sonic Adventure 2 but the footage was too short for the song. I also put the little Sonic to balance the Miku on the right visually.

[Teto and Popy] Reverse Rainbow - sunzriver

I was playing Project Mirai with some friends a few nights ago and one of the songs in this game was this one. I don't think I've played it back when I played the game years ago, I might have, I don't remember. But when I heard it a few days ago, I felt entranced by it. It's really good.

This is the first time I've drawn either Emu or Mafuyu. I like Project Sekai. Not my favorite, but it's still a really solid rhythm game. Rin's part is done by Teto/Mafuyu, Miku's part is done by Popy/Emu.
