Should you fight my characters? Plant Flavor!
Back at it with more!
Tumblr media
Riaghael
Battle Music: Saltillo - A Necessary End
Should you fight Riag? Look I get it, you get it, even he gets it - he's not the most amiable person in the world. He's usually grumpy and sometimes even an asshole. He wouldn't even be mad at if you if you tried to fight him. But no one is winning from this fight. You will likely feel like crap trying to fight someone who (is trying but) cannot fight back, and guaranteed he will feel even worse. Trying to fight someone who is well aware of that they aren't what they used to be is a little mean - so please don't fight the grump.
Who initiates the battle? You would have to, he knows he can't win in fights anymore so he doesn't try to start anything.
Who would win? You would. He physically can't wield weapons anymore and mentally/psychologically is unable to deal with the stress of it. It wouldn't even be a fair fight, he would summon minions to try to defend himself but that's it. You would still be able to take him down pretty quickly.
Tumblr media
Deiliús
Battle Music: anoice - finale
Should you fight Dei? They are the least threatening person you can encounter. ...so why on Tyria would you? The only reason I could ever see someone trying to fight them is them being a rigid 'All NMC are evil and must die' type of person. They have all the strength of wet tissue paper and are allergic to conflict. Don't fight them. You stand nothing to gain from it (besides my unwavering disapproval).
Who initiates the battle? You would HAVE to. They would expend all of their energy just trying to run from you than have to fight. Even if cornered they would try to fend off attacks but not fight back.
Who would win? There's no question that you would win. It would be like kicking a stray cat on the street that had just gotten its ass kicked from other cats. Their magic is illusion based for concealment or psychological harm (which they hated using and only did in the past because they were forced to) not for attacking. It wouldn't even really be a fight, it would be you kicking their ass.
Under the cut to save your dash!
Tumblr media
Naechdion
Battle Music: Shadow of the Colossus OST - Silence
Should you fight Dion? No! Absolutely not! He's minding his own business in the Wychmire and is already scared of everything. Leave him be.
Who would initiate the battle? You would have to start it - but that means finding him first. He's very good at hiding.
Who would win? You would, but then you would probably have to fight me because Dion doesn't deserve to be picked on. He's bad at Guardian magic and scared of everything, he would probably be shaking in a corner as soon as you got anywhere near him.
Tumblr media
Ruby Aenn
Battle Music: Dallas String Quartet - Firework
Should you fight Ruby? Ruby is always up for a good fair sparring session. Actual fights, she thinks can be avoided with enough discussion but sparring for practice is fun! She's game for a bit of a spat if you are!
Who would initiate the fight? 50/50! She might want to warm up before a bigger skirmish and ask you to spar with her. Or perhaps you feel like trying the Prismatic Dragon's Champion on for size.
Who would win? Ruby has some very clear strong points and weaknesses. For one, she's tiny, just at 4'9, so her center of balance makes her harder to take down. Most especially challenging is that she changes her fight strategy depending on which pet she is soulbound to. So that's tricky. However, it is easy to bait while attuned to specific animals and that makes her slip up because the animal side wins. It would be fair!
Tumblr media
Madrúil
Battle Music: The Dali Thundering Concept - There is no Calm Before the Storm (Instrumental)
Should you fight Mad? Oh god, please kick his ass. He has made life hell for a lot of innocent people and deserves to get the shit kicked out of him. You would be making a lot of people happy.
Who would initiate the fight? Chances are Mad would since he thinks with his fists more often than his brain. Or he would be trying to abduct you for his hounds to 'play with' so you had to defend yourself.
Who would win? Tricky. Mad is good at both long range with his bow and close melee with axes, but struggles at mid-range. If you have something that can keep him just close enough to you to not be able to use his long bow but not so close you meet the axe, you can probably out last him. That is until he goes full chicken shit and gets other Blasphemy goonies to try and waylay you. He's not above being a slime ball to win.
Tumblr media
Countess Diamhasla
Battle Music: Romanian Folk Dances, Sz 56: III. Pe-loc - Andante
Should you fight Diam? PLEASE DO. Can I help? I would love to help. We can throw her down a well. She sets people up for failure, and when they are at their most vulnerable she 'saves' them, only to then hold that over their head to get what she wants. She's fragile and has poor health but I'm not above beating her leafy head in with a mallet.
Who would initiate the battle? You would, she doesn't do fighting. Usually letting her henchmen do the dirty work for her. Half of the issue of fighting her is actually getting to her, she's fairly well defended.
Who would win? She's scary good at earth magic, so the key would be to interrupt her before she can summon too many elementals or the huge earthen hands to grab you. If you can hit hard and fast, you win, easy. But if you let her get too many spells off it's looking like she will win.
Tumblr media
Warden Captain Cálguais
Battle music: Andry Vinogradov - Chain Dance
Should you fight Cal? They're the most honorable (to the point of being insufferable) person to fight. If you asked for an honorable dual they would be happy to oblige you but in any other situations they would not. To spar for the sake of improvement (since they will be telling you the whole time where you could have done better) sure! Fight them!
Who would initiate the battle? Either you asking to spar with them or them training baby Wardens and asking you to spar as an example.
Who would win? Likely you would, but not easily. They are pretty competent at fighting but they tend to be rigid and fixed in their training they learned so they can't always adapt to new threats.
Tumblr media
Glanaim
Battle music: Gallowstreet - Fisticuffs
Should you fight Glan? Sure, as long as you realize he treats fighting like flirting half the time. Morally he's a grey person so you don't have much to lose by fighting him. He doesn't kill people unless he's paid to do so so go for it!
Who would initiate the fight? Depends! If he's in a good mood, he'll ask you to spar with him. Otherwise you'd have to approach the topic.
Who would win? If you give him any distance at all, he will win so fast it makes your head spin. He's a sniper, and a damn good one at that. If you go after him in melee you have a very strong chance of winning, since he's not as good with pistols as he is with his rifle. (bonus there's a high chance he asks you out for a drink and then a rematch later).
Tumblr media
Caonai
Battle Music: Skyrim OST - Tooth and Claw
Should you fight Cao? I don't recommend it. She doesn't see the point of fighting without killing - so if you challenge her one of you is going down for good. Plus she's an older lady who just is trying to care for her siblings. Sure, she may not have social skills, but she keeps to herself.
Who initiates the battle? If she thinks you are going to harm her siblings or pose a threat to the remnants of her family, she will absolutely start it. And give you no warning, you will just have a Norn sized, winter-hardened Warrior after you.
Who would win? Cao would win unless you run away mid-fight. She fights to kill, not to spar. While she is not as strong as some of my other kiddos, she is very slow and unyielding. She aims to break your defenses before going in for any major damage with her mace. If you run, she might not chase you - having tired herself out.
Tumblr media
Caemdryn
Battle Music: LORN - ENTANGLED
Should you fight Caem? Honestly, it's up to you. While he is not a bad person, he has so much anger (mainly at Charr and the Jungle but it bleeds over) that it makes him a twat at times. Would there be any major negatives to getting rid of him? No. Any positives? Not really.
Who would initiate the battle? I think you would have to but it wouldn't take much. All it would take is a comment about Sylvari being dragon minions in any shape or form to get him defensive and then he will be after you.
Who would win? In close quarters, Caem, hands down. He hits hard and fast and has no small amount of fury/unhinged behind it. At distance he can't really attack but he can block and shield himself from most projectiles. Best bet would be to try and slow/cripple him and then get him from range so he can't close the space.

Dion nervously sends a ⭐to Kerra!
(@uselessidiotsquad)
Ah gosh, hi Dion <3 Happy to answer for them! :D
Kerra & Dion
I like you // I love you // You’re one of my best friends // You’re like family // You are family // I dislike you // I hate you // I’d kill you if I got the chance // I want you to like me // I’m scared of you // I would adopt you // I’d date you // I’d sleep with you // I’d marry you // I’m worried about you // You confuse me // You’re annoying // I pity you // I respect you // I trust you // I feel protective of you // I’d invite you with me to parties // I’d lend you my money // I’d borrow your money // You’re good-looking // I’m suspicious of you // I’m hiding something from you // You’re fun // You’re boring // I’m upset with you // You’re nice // You’re mean // I’m envious of you // You’re smart // You’re stupid // I look up to you // I think you’re a better person than me // I think I’m a better person than you // I want to apologize to you // I wish I’d never met you // I never want to forget you // I want to get to know you better
Kerra would most definitely like Dion, and she'd do her best to give him as much space as he wanted, but if he ever wanted to hang out (in whatever form that would take for him), she'd love to! And a note--the protectiveness isn't because she thinks he isn't capable (though he's not a fighter, he's doing well living on his own), but just because she likes him and is therefore instinctively like "he's happy and everyone Better let him stay that way, please and thank you".

The Stormy Bog
A little gold commission for @uselessidiotsquad! Thank you so much <33
Bog Boi Dion weathers a storm.
The morning was foggy. Very foggy. Hard to see. The sylvari yawned as he sat up and stretched. Could hardly see outside. Very foggy. His lower lip tutted out in a slight pout. Fog meant the bottom of his house- a mixture of soft leaves and mud- was much wetter than usual. He pushed the ferns at the top of his head just enough so they didn’t obscure his vision even more.
Outside. Step outside, almost sink into the mud. Very wet! He sniffed towards the air. Rain. The heavy scent, strong rain coming. Soon. His eyes narrowed, trying to count the claws and beaks of the creatures in the swamp. Many were hiding. Of course, yes. Rain coming.
He heard mud and leaves squishing. A blink. And turn, who? A warden? Stepping carefully through, smiling when he looks up. Oh?
“Hey!” The warden called, waving a hand. Barely visible in the fog. “There’s a storm coming, the captain wanted me to ask if you wanted to stay with us until it’s passed.”
Many words. But the sylvari tilted his head to the side, only slightly, with a smile. Then shook. The warden’s smile faltered, stepping closer.
“Look, I know you like isolation, but this is a really big storm. It could blow your house away.”
He shook his head again, smile dropping to a frown.
“I- Look at me!” Aggression. “Even the hylek are battening down and preparing for the possibility of their homes being gone. You won’t be safe out here!”
“No.” He turned away from the warden, picking up a few larger branches. If a storm was coming, he had to prepare. He could cover up holes and windows. He’d have to gather a store of food. Maybe plant some inside. “Will be… okay.”
“You-!” He heard the warden growl behind him, and the sucking sound of him trying to stomp back to the outpost.
A storm meant preparation. He could weather a storm. He did before. He would be fine.
--
The rain kept him up the first night. Lightning cracked so bright it turned the world to day for a second, followed by roaring thunder. A few smaller creatures trembled in his lap. Drops fell on his nose. They would be okay. The storm would pass.
It kept raining all day and night. It was hard to tell when the sun was up and when it was down. One day, two days. Hard rain. Second night, more drops fell through his roof. The creatures left his home, digging holes in the mud. He had to push it back to keep the rain out.
But, when the clouds cleared after on the afternoon of the third day, his home was still standing. He napped the last of the rain away, yawning as he rolled out of bed and outside to survey the swamp. Many creatures were visible, slinking away into their homes to sleep. And a few could even still be seen digging at the mud or catching fish by the water.
Many branches surrounded the area. He would clean up. But first, as he thought about it, his stomach growled. He needed food. Yes. Time to forage. Maybe ask wardens? No, forage. Find food.
Mushrooms bloomed after a storm, dozens sprouted up in just as many places. He could gather an armful and there would still be twice as many left. Yes, perfect. He could eat after missing out after the storm. In the distance, he caught sight of the wardens cleaning up. Oh yes. Cleaning.
Cleaning would come next. First, he ate. He found a rock to sit on, dry enough. Looking over the swamp, over his home. Hylek cleaned. Drakes settled in to sleep. Travelers wouldn’t cross for a while. Unless they had to. A deep breath, post-rain air. Lovely air.
“Hey!” He frowned, looked over his shoulder. The same warden.
“I uh… Sorry.” The warden came closer. He pulled his food closer, hiding it away on his lap. “Relax, I’m not taking your damn food! I mean, uh… Sorry. About… All that. Let us… Know if you need help cleaning. Or repairing.”
“...”
“Yeah, sure. Be silent. But the offer’s there… We’ll help if you need.”
“...” His eyes locked, watching as the warden sighed heavily and turned, waving a hand as he shook his head and started walking.
“Thank… you.”
A pulse of something from the warden, barely stopping to turn his head back.
“Yeah… yeah. We’ll help. Any time.”

For the friend match ask! Naechdion (Dion)
He's very quiet and keeps to himself in the Wychmire Swamp, sort of living on the outskirts and away from most people. Dion's not the bravest or most social by nature, he has a lot of issues with anxiety, but he's a good dude! He's had to fend for himself from the get go so he's very outdoors savvy and could probably survive in almost any climate. His favorite activities are very simple and slow paced - watching the sunrise, carving things out of driftwood, helping out local animals.
(@uselessidiotsquad)
I think he and Grolg would get along brilliantly. He knows a fair bit about the outskirts of society, hard to find room anywhere else as an Ettin. And he definitely is a slow paced person himself, very gentle too. He is more into tending to plants than animals but those are the kinds of differences that complement each other right? Dion should prepare to drink a lot of tea then, and be ready to wear at least one (1) flower crown.

For all your sylvari, how high esteem to each of them hold the Pale Tree in?
@mystery-salad
Ty for the ask! I Ranking time!
Highest Esteem:
Calguais, my Warden Captain. They're a revenant who is basically in direct conversation all the time with Ventari and thus are the most painfully lawful good plant I have. They annoy me with how rigidly they see things. To them the Pale Tree is basically god/ess.
Caemdryn. He maintained his connection to the Dream even after everything in the HoT campaign and is aggressively protective of other Sylvari (to the point of being kinda a dick to the other races). The Pale Tree is not just a mother, but like a divinely put in place ruler (for Sylvari).
Riaghael. While not nearly as intense about the Tree as the other two ranked above him, Riag dearly loves the Pale Tree. That's his mom. Not a Divine Ruler but a mother and a respected figure to ask for insight, but not Perfect In Every Way.
Ruby Aenn. Being the one who discovered first hand the origins of the Tree and then having to tell others, there's a small break of trust in her. The Tree is not the end-all-be-all of Sylvari and she's still a bit annoyed that the origin of the Tree was kept for so long. More damage might have been avoided if it had been known by others. But still, she cares for the Tree and the Tree's well-being.
Middle Tier:
Glanaim. Glan's functionally Soundless though without the commitment of it. The Pale Tree is an unreachable figure, some unknowable entity that tries to influence in ways it thinks will help the world. Glan would very much rather find that out himself than through the Tree's influence.
Naechdion. Doesn't really have the connection with the Tree that the rest of the Sylvari do since he was supposed to be Mordrem. He isn't aware of this though. Honestly he doesn't know the Tree has a sentient form or face or energy, it's just the big plant at the other end of Caledon that people seem to be protective of. People seem to be around it so all the more reason for him to avoid it.
Toraedh. Despite being 50% Nightmare, Tora doesn't dislike the Tree. They do, though, dislike it's manner of controlling people with Hunts. Especially since their own Wyld Hunt basically guaranteed they were to be treated like crap by other Sylvari. Being shoved into some duty someone else decided for you before you were even born is cruel.
Lowest Esteem:
Deilius. The Tree is just another example for them of a person/force that promises things and then doesn't deliver. Before they turned Nightmare, they were sort of neutral on the Pale Tree. Now they just see it as both A) someone else who left/abandoned them B) a symbol for the people who want them dead on principal C) a place that had fond memories that have been soured by others actions.
Caonai. She is not of the Pale Tree, and views the Tree and the Maguuma Sylvari as being too young/weak to be relied on. They are spring children, she is born of winter and ice. They won't last.
Madruil. The Tree is a controlling force on Sylvari that makes them do things for the sake of a 'greater' good. He's doesn't like the idea of doing things for others.
Countess Diamhasla. Diam sees the Pale Tree as a relic of the past, and she should function as a production line for Sylvari but stop trying to tell them how to live their lives (mainly so she can START telling them how to live their lives woops). Utter disdain, she would lobotomize the Avatar and have her just be a broodmare for Sylvari production if at all possible.

Random thought, ranking some of my Sylvari in how close they are to the Dream.
Most to least:
Siori Suan
Legit stuck in the Dream his whole life, does not always know where he starts and the Dream ends.
Warden Calguais
Devoted steadfastly to Ventari's tablet and the teachings of it.
Ruby Aenn
Has always been close to the Dream, but is not as gung-ho about the teachings of Ventari.
Toraedh
An odd one for sure, they are as close to the Dream as they are to Nightmare. It makes things challenging when both sides aren't over fond of you.
Riaghael
He used to be a lot closer to the Dream, perhaps even at the level of Calguais. The mental break he had put a huge wedge between him and the Dream and it's now a very faint connection.
Naechdion
Is not close to the Dream, since he was supposed to be a champion of Mordremoth. His Dream experience was vague and scary and he rejects it. Would be Soundless if it didn't mean having to ask how to do some of the blocking techniques.
Glanaim
Very nearly Soundless. He's not interested in the shared empathy of things as he views it as a cheap way to get to know someone. It's also why he doesn't get all prickly about some Nightmare Courtiers.
Deiliús
They're Nightmare now, the other side of the coin. Even if it hasn't made them cruel, it has distanced them from anyone besides other Courtiers. And since most Courtiers tend to be unkind, they distance themselves from those as well.
Bonus!
Caonaí is of the Shiverpeaks Tree, which connected her children to a Proto-Dream, a loose framework of the Dream. It was not as vibrant and nourishing because it didn't have very many, if any, memories of Sylvari to fill it. But when her Tree died, it denied the Shiverplants even that rough form of it. All 9 of them are Soundless now.
Mad and Diam are both fully and unshakably Nightmare. It brought out the worst of their behaviors and sustained them.

Random thoughts on hugging some of the plampts and warcats because I am soft and full of emotions today.
OC's and Hugs
Sigilis gives bone crushing bear hugs. She always smells like oil and stale beer and sometimes BO. Getting hugged too hard? Too bad. If you're not out of breath and sore was it REALLY a good hug.
Galla, awkward hugs. She's big and knows she's big, she doesn't want to hurt you so it's tricky. Usually a one armed side hug. She usually smells like weapon polish.
Valens - bombastic, swinging you around by your arms hugs. Very enthusiastic usually will make both of you dizzy. Doesn't usually smell like anything but her fur is very sparse and scratchy which can make it a little itchy.
Party - depends on what you need. She's refined the art of Hugs having to deal with a wide range of cubs. Supportive gentle hug? You got it. Rallying tight hug? No problem. Not a fan of hugs? Sure thing, a pat on the back for you. She smells like saltwater and smoke.
Ordia doesn't hug people.
Ruby Aenn - anyone remember glomps? Behold the tiny red menace, who will run at you full speed to tackle you into a hug. She's the biggest hugger but will respect boundaries if you tell her. She smells like cloves and anise. Will also lift you up off the ground to hug you if she can which is mortifying since she's very short.
Dion - doesn't know how to hug and is too shy to. Will give a thumbs up and maybe a nervous pat on the shoulder but that's about it. Smells like rain and the woods.
Glan - dramatic mf is a sucker for big sweeping hugs and making it a scene. Quite literally would sweep you off your feet but mainly to annoy you. Has been known to pick people up and carry them over his shoulder just to get a rise out of them. Smells like black tea.
Riag - once a huge hugger, and a hug with the whole body type of person, now touch avoidant if possible. Isn't always good at verbally comforting so usually will try to help by ways that aren't verbal/physical hug. Doesn't have a smell.
Dei - Smells very faintly of hyacinth flowers but also coppery sap. They have never been much of a hugger and prefer verbally comforting people if they can. However, when they do hug they are always the last to let go. Given that they are tall and lanky/bony, hugs can be a little awkward.

How about a tarrot reading? ^^
For Riag, how about The Fool, The High Priestess and the Chariot?
And for Dion, The Hierophant, The Hanged Man and The World ?
Ty for the ask! Excellent questions :)
Riag:
🚶 0 - The Fool : Beginnings, infinite possibilities, taking chances, eschewing logic, spontaneity.
Riag used to take way more chances than he actually needed and throw himself into things that were high risk for the sake of it (he'll deny it but he was an adrenaline junkie). I think a great example of this is early baby Riag joining the Vigil. You could not have picked a less fitting group for the hot-headed, impulsive, angry sapling to go into. Order and structure and having to listen to others? Fit like a round hole square peg.
But he joined it all the same just for that reason. It was expected of baby Riag to not be able to handle it or to be too pissy for diligent military work - which is exactly why he joined it out of spite. Also because he knew his Wyld Hunt was kill dragons and what better what to kill dragons than with weapons and skill! A moment on taking a chance and starting his whole journey towards being Commander.
🔮 II - The High Priestess : Biding time, patience, placidity, intuition, inner vision, potential, that which is supernatural and obscured
Oh that'd have to be the whole shindig with Aurene's Egg. He deferred the duty of going after it to Ruby at that point, it was 100% not his business or area. She was a high ranked officer at the time and essentially his second in command for a lot of things - but the whole mystery of it really weirded him out. He likes linear problems and things he can solve - not ones that require intuition or patience and mystery. He'll take an impossible last stand battle over having to rely on 'mystery' any day of the week.
🛹 VII - The Chariot : Asserting your will and dominance, mastering impulsivity, reining in emotion, war-like control.
Sort of like the point for the Fool, his whole journey as Commander is about him calming his flowers buds down and using his head instead of his impulse. I would say currently, in his retirement, he would be the most Chariot energy. Which is ironic because the Chariot is also a card of motion and progress and he's retired. He's (for better or for worse) what I tend to call in war-mode most of the time. Even in the Grove, and retired.
Riag's always looking for potential threats, routes for advancing or retreating, how he could turn the situation into something else if combat started. It's not always a good thing because it has such a grip on him that he can't turn it off. Expecting things to turn on their head and go to bits is his default. Which means he has excellent control and assessing of things. But also he can't really, really relax. What else can you expect from a Sylvari that starting fighting and having to strategize even before they left their pod?
Dion:
💫 V - The Hierophant : Knowledge, education, seeking deeper meanings, following rules, identifying with a group.
Beloved Bog Boy is rather paradoxical in this card placement! On one hand, he ran from the Grove before he had a chance to gain any education from Mentors. He doesn't follow the rules of anyone but himself in the Wychmire. And he's afraid of people as a whole, let alone a group.
However, in his isolation from others he tends to seek his own deeper meanings anyway and draw insights and guidance from his own firsthand experiences. Living entirely on your own in a less than welcoming area means he's had to gain knowledge on survival and outdoors living so he's very smart and capable in this regard too.
So it's rather the inverse of the Hierophant in many ways which is about following a tradition set by others and structure that's been handed down or learned. Dion's rather done it himself instead of gaining it from others.
🗿 XII - The Hanged Man : Allowing what will happen to happen, accepting the future, pausing to reflect, sacrifice and martyrdom.
I mean minus the really severe anxiety he's actually one of the chillest of my kids (which sounds counter intuitive). Down to earth and calm when he's not having a flair up of anxiety or something setting it off. He doesn't really get bothered too much by things happening, in the sense that if something doesn't go in his favor he's not going to be too upset about it. It be what it be.
It's also a good card for him in the sense of the Hanged Man as stasis, and being suspended from something. His original destiny was to be a very nasty, powerful general for Mordremoth but he overslept/didn't react to the Call in time. So he is suspended between being a regular Sylvari, being Mordrem and being something else. Not quite fitting into any category and thus removed from all of them to a degree.
🌍 XXI - The World : Integration, synthesis, accomplishment, blossoming, fulfilment and wholesomeness.
Of all my kids, Dion is one of the most wholesome of them. He's made his own life, what works for him, and carved out his own little space. I don't write about him much just because he's staying in his lane? Not getting into conflict or trouble? So he's challenging to write about!
Quite the contrary to say Riag, who struggles with the concept of being fulfilled and what it means and looks like - Dion's contented. He doesn't need much but his own hide and the sense that he's not being pressured by others. Bog Boy living his best life in the Wychmire, growing a few melon plants, taking care and being guardian to the local fauna/flora.

🔪🌎🌲😇 For Riag/Dion/Ruby?
Ooo thank you for the ask!
If ⭐ is bad ⭐⭐is okay and ⭐⭐⭐ is great - lets go!
Riaghael:
🔪 — melee weapons
⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic melee fighter, specialized in dual daggers! Played a very high risk high reward style of combat, being a necromancer and light armor wearer but being in the front lines as melee.
🌍 — knowledge of the world
⭐⭐
He knows a good deal of the world from his time as Commander but maybe not as much as expected. Riag didn't have a wanderlust period like some saplings do and so while he's more learned than many - he's not as versed as say Ruby.
🌲 — surviving in the wilderness
Bless him, he's not an outdoors person. I mean he's not going to go tumbling off a mountain on day one but his survival skills are severely lacking.
😇 — following rules
⭐⭐
Oh that's a tricky one. Baby Riag was *shit* at following rules, then the Vigil happened and he had to start listening to others. Commander Riag was not the best at following but would hear out ideas and then decide whether or not they had any validity.
Dion:
🔪 — melee weapons
Bad bad bad - couldn't fight a gnat if he tried. Has a giant stick as a 'staff' but only uses it to poke animals to move without hurting them.
🌍 — knowledge of the world
He knows the Wychmire and that's about it, doesn't know what world events have been going on or what's outside of his swamp.
🌲 — surviving in the wilderness
⭐⭐⭐
Best of my kids for survival outside! You can plop him in any natural setting and he'd manage to survive and do quite well. He knows how to build his own shelters, how to get food and drink without disturbing the natural flow, and how to remain unseen.
😇 — following rules
⭐⭐
He's not really been exposed to many hard 'rules' to follow, so most of them are his own morals. But in this regard he does stick to his guns.
Ruby:
🔪 — melee weapons
⭐⭐
She's a good fighter but most of her power comes from her pets, she doesn't do great solo. She uses her greatsword the most along with her longbow!
🌍 — knowledge of the world
⭐⭐⭐
Very learned and seasoned! Had a long wandering spell and traveled a lot even before she became the Commander.
🌲 — surviving in the wilderness
⭐⭐
She can make it on her own outdoors for a good long while but does need to be around people, more for the psychological needs than the practical.
😇 — following rules
Somehow worse than Riag on this - Ruby adheres to the policy of combat as a last option. This doesn't endear her to many of the Pact that want War first and talk after. She'll disobey anyone and anything if it means trying to talk it out first.

i have come to share soft ship / oc thoughts
sigilis and galla get really giggly when drunk together. sigilis is usually a terrible flirt and a fighter when drunk alone, but galla is >:| even while drunk. except when they are together then they are giggly and silly. and sigilis is a hypeman still but more of an emotional hypeman than just sheer FUCK YEAH THATS MY WIFE more of a ;; thats my wife
mhonde is known for looking at (or in the general vicinity tbh) of raja with like the most fascination and awe. usually raja has to pull rank and authority of being a significant shaman of Raven to get people to listen to her, but since mhonde doesn't ascribe to norn culture in that way - does not care. for once she can be listened to as a person and not a spiritual advisor.
while it's toned down currently, you could not get riag to shut up at all in regards to pillow talk. he would legit just end up rambling about things of absolutely no substance (with very sincere moments of big importance).
he's still prone to going off on random vents like half way into a conversation he's had with himself internally so trahearne only hears the ending part of it. which leads to a lot of ??? but also amusement.
despite being prickly, tora is ridiculously ticklish and sho (@moonlit-grove) uses this to her advantage whenever she feels the need to.
dion will sometimes mimic the frogs that live in the wychmire by making a face at them (puffed out cheeks) when they are croaking really loudly.
parteria (party) is based on a pallas cat and is VERY FLOOFY which the in-game model doesn't represent but she's very round looking just from fluff.
ruby's bear Akka absolutely loves rytlock and he can't do anything about it. but he will sneak the 'walking tank of a bear' a pet or two if he's 100% sure no one will see him.
glanaim used to be a little displeased about having to wear glasses but now he's so fond of them he thinks he looks absolutely naked without them.
dei's really good with word puzzles and riddle games but would be terrible at monopoly, risk or war. as a whole i think they would probably really enjoy board games.

blorbo bingo ask! dei and dion, if you'd like? :D @kerra-and-company
Ty for the ask!
Tumblr media
Answered Dei's already but will always talk more about the purple. They actually did start as a joke character! I was trying to make a character that would make Rush Limbaugh roll in his grave (demi-boy, aro but bi, down for poly realtionships, effeminate at times). But then story happened and now they are a fixture. It's also largely thanks to Dei that I've found I'm v comfy with using they/them pronouns as well, so thank you Purple! I've also poured a lot of myself into them, at times I worry a bit too much. But they have my whole heart and I adore them.

My other wholesome Beeb! Dion's sound sensitivity is a bit telling but I would put him on the spectrum somewhere. Also his social anxiety and nervousness is a mood. I only say wrong genre because I write Angst™️ and refuse to write much of it for him. He's a good bean and doesn't need me being Edgelord2000 about it. Local bog cryptid actually big softy - more news at 9!

1, 12, 14, and F for Dion (bog) - moonlit-grove
Bog Hours! Ty for the ask :3 @moonlit-grove
1. What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?
4-5 Hours. He's actually very good at being able to just sit and chill, since he's very sensitive to sounds and things he can stay fairly involved by just listening. And then plays sort of a mental game of naming whatever it is. A frog? Yes... but what type. Hm. Sounds like a (specific type). But their breeding season isn't for a few months, so they wouldn't be croaking. So it must be (different type)! and so on.
12. How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?
He has two methods of trying to scratch an itch and both of them are a bit bizarre. The first one is more common, he'll find a large tree or stump and rub against it like a cat so he can get the exact spot. Think Baloo from the Jungle book animated movie, but no songs. Or - and this is rare - if it's really, really bothering him, he'll find someplace with nice loamy dirt and just bury himself in it. Cool fresh earth is delightful for relieving itches.
14. What animal do they fear most?
Dion's not really afraid of them he just doesn't like stink beetles. And beetles as a whole he's somewhat wary about. They get a side eye from him but he still will avoid squishing them. I think he'd probably be afraid of anything the Nightmare Court has managed to make out of animals. But not like one specifically?
F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?
Anxiety - but only because he's full of it and I wouldn't want to make it worse by hanging out with him. Like I would love to hang out with him, we would get along bc we both be mild but he's even less socially equipped than i am.

From the tarot asks: 🔮 II - The High Priestess for Dion? :D
Ty for the ask :D
🔮 II - The High Priestess : Biding time, patience, placidity, intuition, inner vision, potential, that which is supernatural and obscured.
Dion is a good candidate for this one! Being sensitive to his environment and to things as a whole, he is able to sense things that others might not be able to. For instance, minor changes in weather that suggest rain is coming, or changes in the Wychmire that tell that something dark is afoot. A lot of it is relying on his intuition and gut feelings. He's also very patient and laid back about things as a whole!
He's also considered a myth/cryptid to some degree by locals. Because he hangs out in an area that most avoid, tends to dwell back in the fog and mist, and avoids contact. Given that his voice is strange and it's hard for him to talk people assume he's some form of entity/monster. See an eerie giant green glowing shape in the misty swamp that makes strange creaking and low growling like sounds? Enough cause to run away!
Meanwhile he's the most 👉👈 person they'd probably meet.

A few self indulgent picrews of some of the beebs time! Haven't done one of these in a while. Under the cut to save your dash 💚
Bunny Riag because, yes, it's an essential.
A very true to form and very punchable Madrúil.
An exceptionally good Dion! It even let me give him his canon frog-like eyes!
