Border patrol wasn't one of the things Shyvana liked to do the most. Honestly, her time was better spent either training with the Dracoguard or being in the king's shadow, but she wasn't about to complain. Not when the whole new ordeal with mages was still pretty recent and people needed to be kept in watch after magic was starting to not be so much of a taboo as well.
Ana had also been a good opportunity to look for any mageseekers that had fled during the purge. Most of them, at least to the dragon, were probably just gonna be warned about what happened but still she would need to report any possible suspicious person.
Upon seeing a strange woman, she approached. "Hold! You are entering the borders of Demacia and due to recent events everyone must go through an inspection."

She had just lead a group o acolythes to feed the Spider God into the Shadow Isles. She was one common visitor of that place, the blessing of her deity had provided her with safe passage there so she didn't fear the cursed beings that came from the darkness in search of souls to torture. They would have plenty leftovers after her Patron was done feasting.
She had been admiring herself in the mirror, watching as the gray hairs, the wrinkles and everything else faded away and revealed her beautiful self again, when she noticed a pair of eyes on her. ONe of the cursed ones? She wouldn't know.
"You may approach, child."

It was quite the normal day in Demacia; the locals going about and doing their own thing, the mage-seekers doing their job, and the royals living a high life as ever.... or so it is what Nightfall believed.
Upon re-entering this world, his memories were wiped clean and his only objective at this point was to study this planet's kingdoms and people, and he started with Demacia. Lurking in the shadows of one of the bigger alleyways is where the robot resided for now, scanning any nearby civilians and mage-seekers and learning about life here in Demacia. Of course.... it came with eliminating some very curious intruders and was the only reason that he hadn't been discovered yet. Everyone had looked pretty much the same until one individual stood out, and Nightfall immediately grew interested. He enhanced his optics to have a closer look, as he started to say to himself,
" This person doesn't appear to be from here.... a tourist....? A visitor....? A lost creature....? All possible answers.... "
He simply growled and stood watch, hoping to find and acquire more information before being spotted and having to either relocate or go on a killing spree.

He stands at the edge of a road, eyes staring towards the dry plains that stretch out as far as he can make them. From what his sight could absorb, flecks of gold shimmer on the blades of grass. Sunlight reflected on the dried edges soaked with dew which misted the area in the early morning.
The deep hues and shimmering brightness dappled his eyes as his vision came to be. Golden fields flowed in the wind, the warm air flowing peacefully. Expressionism at its finest, he could see each individual stroke that created the land.
His gaze softened, irises flickering golden, orange, and red. Matching the autumn colors that the grass had taken due to their lack of rainwater. Hwei could see the beauty in such despair, he understood that nature ran its course. Yet while everything withered under constant bombardment of the sun's rays, the golden and brown of the dried blades of grass that begged for mercy swayed pitifully in the wind. Rustling, as if the noise were but a chorus of empty hallow bones wich rattled together.
“It’s sad to see things die. But there is beauty in absence, for nothing is ever truly empty. It simply bides its time to reemerge into new life.”

(closed starter for @nithhaiahh)
Gentle chatter filled the streets of Lancaster as the citizens went about their day. The smell of fresh-baked bread wafted from the local bakery, a few of their products showing in the glass windows off of the square, many of the locals munching on their baked good as they perused the stalls. The town square was a popular hub for impromptu stores, temporary booths and rugs set up by locals to sell produce, artisanal goods, and other such wares. Laughter and gossip carried on the early autumn breeze, many of the citizens discussing how they were preparing for winter.
Moving through the crowd was a taller man with short black hair, worn clothing that might have once been expensive, and a curious expression upon his face. He navigated the various booths in the town square with a watchful eye, always on the lookout for oddities and trinkets he wouldn’t find back home. Jericho hadn’t even finished the danish he’d purchased from the bakery before it was knocked out of his hand, a man in cheap armor tearing through the streets haphazardly with an expression like he’d just seen a ghost. It was then that Jericho heard it.
Screaming.
It wasn’t far off. Jericho had spent years in the military, he knew the sound of desperation, and he could see a tree in the distance topple over as a creature’s form began to become visible - even from the heart of the town. An ettin. A twin-headed giant with a penchant for kidnapping livestock. It was at least 15 feet tall, but Jericho couldn’t rightly tell from this distance. And, judging by the sound of the local guards’ terror, the ettin wasn’t here for a simple smash and grab.
The sorcerous blood in his veins began to rush through as his heartbeat accelerated in tune with his footsteps. Instinctually, he’d ran towards the chaos instead of away. Lancaster was a smaller town. It had stretches of rugged farmland surrounding it, and the security here was haphazard at best. Judging by the soldier who ruined his breakfast pastry, as well as the screams, these ‘guards’ needed all the backup they could get. A silver lining was that Jericho now had a target to test his magic on.
The sorcerer arrived to a scene of carnage. Two guards were clearly dead, bodies splayed out on the ground at unnatural angles, partially caved in by the giant’s club. Three more injured guards were doing their best to distract it as perfectly healthy ones with shaking hands struggled to reload their crossbows. As if the bolts would do much to slow down such a creature. Jericho pulled on the magic in his veins, feeling a faint tie to the moon even in the middle of the day. He held a hand to the sky. Silver wisps of light spun around his outstretched hand, and, when he pulled it down in a fist, a beam of silver-blue radiance fell from the sky upon the ettin. It’s roar of pain and surprise shook the earth, skin blistering under the column of moonlight.
“Keep your shields up and form a line!” Jericho shouted, “Share the blow unless you want to end up like those two!”
It had been some time since he’d last commanded on the battlefield, but once a soldier, always a soldier. He just hoped his magic would hold out, because the ettin looked more angry then injured by his sudden interference.

"You're a bit too far from home, aren't you?"
With the Absolver pointed towards the spooky lady, the cunning sentinel raises one eyebrow. Lips tugged into a smug smile as he can already feel the rush of adrenaline flowing through his veins. The girl does not look like your usual everyday mist wraith, so Akshan decides to give her an opportunity for a comeback. What a nice guy he was.

Offers cheese and tea. "Merry Snowdown!"
As always, her treats would be passed along randomly to acolytes who had yet to transcend their humanity. Xerath didn't know what this 'Snowdown' was, but decided not to ask.

"Boi I refuse to take your statement! You aren't old, you are only 28. You are barely an adult!!"
He laughs. "Old man.. old and wrinkly, withering away... maybe that's why my joints hurt."
That's definitely not the reason, broken bones do make cracking noises after a while.

The shuriman sun is setting, painting a warm crimson light over the horizon. Only a few minutes until temperatures would sink, an unwelcoming freezing breeze would herald the sands and everyone still outside. The sentinel's eyes were already heavy, rubbing lazily before catching a glimpse of the last rays the faraway sundisk would offer her gaze for the remaining time.❛ I should settle, call it a day. ❜
But there was something—a presence. Habi recognizes this feeling, yet she can't quite put her finger on it. Strangely familiar. When was the last time she noticed something like that? From the Shadow Isles? No, she is far away from them, the mist wouldn't find its way to the desert that quickly and without forewarning.
This uneasy feeling, albeit small and easily assessable, leaves her puzzled. She looks up from her bag, trying to make out what caused her nervousness—that small turn in her stomach. Possibly nobody could have prepared the newbie for what she is now witnessing.
Oh...
OH... !
That is DEFINITELY not a human. And it holds itself more human than any voidborn which would be more common for Shurima than this encounter. Her heart rate speeds up, shaky hands go slowly to her spear. Maybe it will go away if I make no rash movements? This… woman was not close. Yet. But Habi was alone. Not the best idea to anger her, this lady might be powerful if she radiates this kind of aura.
Tumblr media
❝ S-STAY RIGHT THERE! ❞ Habi's call was unsteady, words fell out in a trembling squeak while trying to hold a stern expression. In a lucky case, the sentinel can hold her courage long enough to make her point clear. To not mess with her.
Oh, please don't mess with her...

Shyvana wrinkled her nose, making a face when the winds changed and brough a different smell to her. Seemed almost dead, the key word being almost. There were hints of something else, something she knew about but couldn´t quite put her finger on what. Familiar, yet strange.
Enough to make the half dragon curious enough to follow it, see where it ended. She needed to know where it came from, who it belonged and why it was so strange. Just in case, she assumed a prowling stance, just in case the scent belonged to something dangerous and she needed to defend herself.
