Hey! ^^ Hope you're doing well and work is better ^^

I was just reading our old Cousins chats and like- we accidentally write 'terry', so often when we're meaning Teddy! This made me start thinking about how Teddy and Terry might get along... and I think its safe to say they would get along XD They're both so no-bullshit!

Here are some Teddy and Terry things XD

They meet when Teddy's 4 and Shiny's babysitting her at the club (Teddy's easy. Shiny just has to keep her lemonade topped up and she'll just sit at the bar side and colour unless she needs to go pee. And she knows to ask Shiny to go with her when she does.). Shiny has him sit down next to the kid so no wierdo's sit next to her, cuz she trusts him. He talks to the kid a little bit ('Yer Wheezy's kid?' 'Yeah. You're Shiny's friend?' 'Yeah' 'For the love of god you two, broaden your vernaculars.'), but they're both pretty content to just Sit.

Imagine Terry protecting Teddy from a creep!! Whether she's 4 or 21- there are always creeps. And since Teddy likes the club (People watching is great there), she's in contact with them more then most. And Shiny beats them off most of the time but every now and then she leaves Terry in charge of the Teddy Guard. (Side note- imagine w h e e z y seeing a creep bother his kid)

Imagine Terry and Teddy sharing a look before Shiny does something particularly nutty. Like, they aint gonna stop her- but they know when its coming XD They know the signs well XD

Grandpa!Terry and Kid!Teddy sitting with newborn Jewel while momma and daddy work!! Teddy sits on top of the bar and plays with Jewel in her bassinet while grandpa Terry has his drink and watches over them both.

Teddy being startled if she sees Terry slip away from his hands XDD Like okay... thats n e w-

Follow up- Terry showing Teddy 'its nothin' and reattaching his hands so she can see.

Imagine Uncle Smartass coming into the joint one day and seeing Terry and Teddy together and acting before thinking, of course, and almost decking Terry cuz he thinks he's a creep bothering his too-relaxed niece!! 😂😂😂😅 Shiny has to yell from the other side of the bar, like 'ITS OKAY MAN!! THATS TERRY!! HE'S COOL!!'

Tween!Teddy seeing a guy flirt with Terry and Terry not really rebuffing him like most men in this era would have (But also not really flirting back, cuz like-- theirs a kid here.), and Greasy who's at the club too rushes to try and explain to Teddy what being 'gay' is- but Teddy's just... doesn't react. Like 'yeah, okay uncle greasy. can we get cake after this??' 'em... sure. what flavour?- ' 'chocolate! ^^' Its just not in Teddy's nature to judge or care about harmless things, and besides- her mum's an lgbtqia+ rights advocate.

Shiny asking Teddy about kids she might 'like' once she gets to high school and Teddy makes the most uncomfortable, icked-out face around her drink straw!! Like, neither Shiny or Terry have ever seen Teddy give such a visceral reaction to anything!! They laugh at her XD ('Okayyyy then, I guess not!' 'Smart kid')

Okay, i wanted to do more but I have to go ^^ I hope you like these! We need to give Terry and Teddy more attention XD See ya! Have a good day! ^^

THIS! IS! CANON! NOW!

Omgggg I was wondering how Terry would fit into the cousin timeline! It actually makes sense that'd the kids would know him; not just Teddy, but the twins too (Poppy nor Psycho don't necessarily like the idea of their kids being in a club, but Poppy trusts Shiny and sometimes they needs a late night babysitter). And Jewel definitely like you said! If course she'd know about her mom's best man ^^

Ohhh if Terry saw a creep near Teddy (or any of the kids), I think that's the only real time he'll get scary. He'll actually shove the bastard off (he's not strong like Moony, but he is a factory worker and can wrangle in a good sized fish while fishing, so I'd say he's fairly built for his age and health) and tell them to get lost before he calls Shiny over. And any regular at the club knows that a police officer would be a lot more merciful than what that crazy woman will do. Or better yet, Terry will threaten to grab the kids father- and nobody wants to deal with a full blown gangster (I am very certain Wheezy will have zero patience for any creep looking at his kid)

Terry will apologize to Teddy for having to see that and get her a pretzel or something, too.

(I raise you; imagine navy, tough as nails Lottie witnessing a creep on any of her little cousins.)

And Terry and Teddy with Jewel at the club!!! Yes yes yes yes yes!!!! I've been debating whether or not Shiny would bring her baby to work, actually. She knows she can trust Terry and her coworkers, but also- which parent would be better for the baby to stay with? The parent that works in a night club, or the parent that works in the night under a much more sinister job?

As for the hands thing and high school crushes- yeah, he'd be amused XD Terry can't can't resist a snicker seeing the chill sister of the cousin group actually make a face other than lackadaisical. He considers that a win, "'Yer so much like your 'pa, y'know that, kid?"

I wish I could add more, but nothing can beat all this perfection! But this did get me thinking about Moony and how he'd fit in the cousins' lives. If Terry can be well acquainted with them thanks to his friendship with Shiny, than Moony's connection to Poppy definitely has to earn him an honorary uncle title for the twins.

Moony I can see him being introduced to the twins a week or so after they were born. He knew when the due date was, but insisted on letting Poppy recuperate before trying to visit. (It took a lot of convincing Psycho I imagine. His protective instincts were through the roof around this time especially.) He fell in love instantly.

Moony can't babysit all the time due to his morning work, but he pitches in whenever he can ^^ it's especially helpful since Pops and Psycho are working and are still figuring out their schedules so they can be with the kids enough. Moony will not let the babies out of his sight the entire time; he'll carry them around carefully in his jacket, too (can you imagine how tiny toon weasel and rabbit babies could be!?!? Omgggg I can't even!) So Cake gets to have roomies XD

Speaking of Cake; She still disapproves Psycho XD she'll stomp her foot the second she sees hom walk in through the door (it really is on sight with that weasel XD), but will dash over to Poppy and Penny and Percy and give them love. Cake is very obvious in who her favorites are XD

Moony helped the kids learn how to treat animals. He taught Percy to be careful with his claws while petting Cake, and Penny that she can't affectionately squeeze an animal while hugging it. He'd also help the other kids, too ^^

Moony with Jewel!! Percy and Penny's honorary sister!!! Ohhh my god Moony will not be prepared for the evil mastermind this child is XDDD he is genuinely shocked that Jewel isn't their biological sister, honestly XD though she could wind up telling him some cousin secrets-

Jewel, after Lottie dropped her off at Moony's house: She likes your butt and fancy fur, by the way.

Moony: ... What???

Jewel: I read her diary yesterday.

Moony: ... Ok we are gonna have a talk about that, young lady-

Moony and Teddy would be sooo chill, obviously. They could just sit down and watch TV together if they wanted to.

MOONY AND LOTTIE!!! Ok I'm surprised we haven't discussed them sooner; you've mentioned that Lottie would grow a crush on Moony when she was older. I'm pretty sure Poppy would have told Moony at least about her little niece, and they would have seen each other at least once before she went into the navy. But he wouldn't have been too involved, I think; he and Smartass don't know each other, and he understands that he has no place to raise this little weasel, so he gives the father and daughter some space. This guy has no idea Lottie thinks he's hot and his brain would factory reset if he found out 😆😅

Ooohhh Terry would be nothing compared to what Moony would do if he found a creeper around any of the kids. He will throw the guy away and will growl and snarl, with his claws bared. The only thing stopping him from going completely savage is knowing that the little ones are near. So he runs the guy off before worryingly checking the kids, regardless of how old they are.

... Ok an angsty thought, but; imagine if Moony is still in love with Poppy, how much it hurts to know she and Psycho are starting a family; Moony knows that Poppy is full blown 100% committed to Psycho now, and the chances of them getting back together are gone. It's painful, but he looks after the twins like his own children too.

[ Obito and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day ] [ @abyssaldespair ] [ Uchiha Obito, Hatake Kakashi, Suigin Ryū ] [ Verse: White Hands of Healing ]

Some days...you just have bad days.

Today happens to be one of Obito’s very, very bad days.

It starts in the morning. He sleeps right through his alarm, at one point pounding the snooze button so hard...the entire clock gives out with a few last dying bleats of sound. There’s a deadpan glare at the device, grumbling wordlessly to himself before stuffing his pillow atop his head.

That should have been omen enough that today was going to be a disaster.

In the kitchen, he finds an apology note from Ryū: there was an emergency at work, so she had no time to make him (or herself, for that matter) any breakfast. He’s on his own. He half contemplates getting something on the way to his community service, but that costs money...so, he attempts to make something for himself.

Key word: attempts.

By the time he’s done, the smoke alarm is going off, Fubuki screeching in the next room as he coughs. Throwing open a window, he tries to take a breath of fresh air...only to immediately swallow a bug. Gagging and trying to retreat back inside, he bumps his head against the top pane...which releases from its latch and smashes down on his fingers.

The neighbors hear him howl in a combination of pain and fury.

Torn between nursing at his fingers and trying to rub at the pain atop his head, Obito stares at the ruined pan that was supposed to cook his breakfast, on the verge of frustrated tears. Why can he never seem to catch a break?!

Defeated, he tosses the whole mess into the sink, mutters a farewell to Fubuki, and just...takes his leave. He’ll wait to eat until later.

On his way to the administration building to find out what he’ll be doing this time, he gets chased by a dog, randomly scolded by an old lady (he’s still not sure what she was going on about…), and someone in an upper-story apartment dumps water out their window...and right onto his head.

By the time he makes it there, he’s a wet, grumpy mess.

Kakashi stares, expression a bit uncertain. “It...wasn’t raining last time I checked.”

“No, it’s not,” Obito retorts through gritted teeth. “Just give me my assignment...and I’ll get it done.”

There’s an awkward pause, and the Rokudaime hands over a request for labor. Apparently one of the park’s gardens needs weeding and watering. Surely it can’t be that bad, right?

No...wrong.

One of the weeds has a pollen that makes his eyes water. And then while clearing out some old, dead leaves and grass...he stumbles upon a hornets’ nest and gets chased all throughout the park. Which prompts a group of children to laugh at him.

Several hours (and wasp bites) later, he finally finishes, dragging himself to the coordinator to get their signature as proof of a job done. They eye him critically, what with his swollen eyes and patches of red on his face from the bug bites, but thankfully sign off for him anyway. Deciding to have Fubuki take the paperwork back as opposed to facing Kakashi again and in even worse shape, Obito skips the trip back to the Hokage’s office and heads for home, wondering what the hell else can go wrong.

“Obito?!”

Flinching as someone calls out to him, the Uchiha turns only to pause. Apparently also en route home, Ryū gapes at him, hands up over her mouth.

“What happened to you?!” Dashing across the street to the same sidewalk, she peers up at him with horror and worry on her face.

“...I’ve had what feels like the worst day of my life,” he admits, tone bordering on whining. But by the gods, he’s earned the right to complain - he can’t even count everything that went wrong today.

“Oh, koibito…” Giving him a sympathetic look, Ryū takes his hand. “Come on...let’s get you home and fixed up, ne?”

Handing off the paperwork to her summon, the medic bustles Obito into the bathroom, stripping off his still-damp, dirty clothes and urging him into a bath. Ignoring his protests, she proceeds to treat his wasp bites, nurse the headache he still has from whacking his head this morning, and carefully tend to his hands, sore from both the window and all the weeds he pulled today. Once he’s back in one piece, she takes to massaging his scalp, humming softly and occasionally moving down to his shoulders. Obito has to admit, this is quite the turnaround from the previous several hours.

...then his stomach gurgles.

“Sounds like you worked up an appetite, ne?”

Remembering the ruined pan (that she still hasn’t seen), Obito winces. “...yeahhh…”

A short explanation later, Ryū bristles. “You mean to tell me you went all day without eating anything?!”

“I tried, but -!”

She gives him a stern look, but then wilts with a sigh. “...this is my fault, I didn’t get you any breakfast made, and -”

“It’s not your fault. Today was just...a day from Hell,” the Uchiha mutters.

Ryū still looks guilty, tipping the pan into the trash.

Heaving his own weary breath, he mumbles an apology.

“It’s fine...it’s just a pan, Obito. But next time, please just...pick something up to eat, ne? It’s not a big deal. I’d much rather you have something in your stomach than your wallet, okay?”

“But -!”

She gently rests a finger against his lips. “No buts,” she insists, giving him a smile. “We’re doing just fine. And hey...I’m proud of you. You had a dismally horrible day, but you still got your work done! Not everyone would have worked through all of that.”

“I have to,” is his muttered reply.

“Well, still…” She replaces her finger with her lips. “Now that you’re all cleaned up and back in proper shape, we’re going to go out to eat, and we’re going to try to salvage this evening into something better. Okay?”

Obito opens his mouth to protest, but hesitates as Ryū gives him one of her doe-eyed stares. “...oh...fine,” he grumbles. “Make it takeout instead of going out, and I’ll agree. I don’t want to go anywhere after today...”

“...agreed.”

Boxes in hand, they snuggle up on the couch, staring absently at some movie playing on a channel. Setting the empty container aside, he gives her a glance. She doesn’t notice his staring, caught up in whatever plot is going on across the screen. Every so often she takes a slow bite, eating almost an afterthought compared to reacting to the movie. Though Obito wouldn’t personally call it anything interesting or scary, her eyes are glued to the screen, occasionally jumping with a squeak as something pops up unexpectedly.

As she does so again, Obito just snorts, lifting his arm as she seeks protection against his side. Amusement in his tone, he offers, “Nothing’s going to get you so long as I’m around, hm?”

“I know, I know, but it’s so creepy!” Another jump, almost spilling her food as she turns to hide in his chest.

Chuckling at her, he retorts, “You’re such a baby.”

“But it’s scaryyy, ‘bito! I can’t watch anymore!”

“It’s almost over.”

“I can’t!” She persists in her cowering, and he actually feels her shake a bit.

Dark brows lift toward his hairline in surprise. Free hand setting aside her leftovers, he grunts and hauls her more into his lap. “Such a baby…”

“S-shush.”

He just grins, watching the monster tear apart a few more people before the credits roll. “Okay, it’s done, you can stop hiding now.”

Pouting, she doesn’t move.

“...Ryū?”

“M’comfy…”

Obito rolls his eyes. Well, he doesn’t really have anything else to do. Already clean, fed...and feeling much better than he did before she found him. Funny how she does that: always makes him feel better. Mulling that over, he decides any bad day isn’t quite so bad as long as she’s at the end of it. So, for now, he gives a contented sigh and snuggles her a little closer.

Tomorrow’s another day.

It’s still technically your birthday, right? xD So here you go: a dose of silly with an extra helping of fluff at the end because these dorks are adorable when I’m not being angsty with them ahaha~ Also I had to steal that title because it’s perfect xD I was honestly lost for a while what to write...I’m not too good at funny, eh heh .w.;;; So hopefully it’s at least somewhat entertaining...poor Obito! Digimon Adventure Tri Stage Play Reaction

Guys, this is not an analysis: this is my feels and obnoxious comments while viewing the stage play. My initial goal was to use these notes to make an analysis, but they’re too funny/stupid/wow to hide from the world. I typed these notes in real time, stopping the play whenever I had a thought. It’s the closest I can get to having you watch me watch the stage play without using videos. I will write an actual meaningful post soon, but for now, have a confused and jumpy/unpolished blob of feels.

The other thing I want to say is that I didn’t edit this after I wrote it, except for surface editing (grammar, spelling) and clarifications (mostly adding more names). So if I formed an impression at some point, that’s what I really thought in that moment; I didn’t go back and change it.

That said: this will completely and totally spoil the stage play. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS! Read on below the cut (if you dare; it’s almost 4K words long and full of images).

Hidden’s Digimon Adventure Tri Stage Play Reaction

I am immediately not buying that Mimi wouldn't want to camp in the bungalow. Isn't this the kid that went to Tokyo Tower instead of patrolling Tokyo because the tower has AC? I guarantee she'd whine an hour in about wanting the bungalow, but wouldn't allow Koushiro to point out that she made this choice for all of them x__x

Did Mimi just... just throw the laptop? How bratty can you get? I... wow, I really hope they don’t treat my Mimi so poorly the whole play.

From Sora's speech, I can see that nostalgia will be a major theme here, which, to be fair, is appropriate, lol! Nostalgia is pretty much why we’re here.

TAICHI! It’s so good to see you get your big bro on again, lol??? Hikari: "I'm not a kid who needs to wait for you to walk home with me."

Taichi: "What? Why not? WHAT'S WRONG?! CONFIDE IN ME!" He’s so aggressive and clumsy about it, lol??

Taichi: "WHO ARE YOU CALLING A STUBBORN BLOCKHEAD."

Jyou, amiably: "You, of course! Wait-" I'm like 15 minutes in and I have already decided that Jyou is my favorite (not surprising lol).

Jyou: "YOU ARE IN DANGER, TAICHI. I HAVE NEVER SEEN YOU STUDY." Oh lord, Jyou is bashing Taichi with the stone of foreboding. Is Jyou okay? Is he quite sane? He isn't, is he. Do you see that gleam in his eye? No, no. He is gone and gone indeed. Jyou’s actor is A+++

Annnnnnd oh hey, it's Yamyams doin' jamjams! I can dig that bass, is he actually playing? Oh hey, he's gonna sing for real, he's- Oh my god, stop! ABORT! He's terrible, hahahaha?!?!?! IT BURRRRNSSS!!!

OH MY GOD HIS BAND HATES THE BAND NAME AND THEY'RE SPEAKING TO HIM IN FRENCH WHAT IS THIS

Wait wow what is this weird ass vibe between the bros? Teeks is accusing Yams of not visiting... Did Yamato have that habit to start with? Hmm...

So Takeru says, "I don't want to see us go our different ways." I've mentioned it over and over, but this feeling is so important to me. It's something I want to write an entire fic around. On the one hand, it's such an easy topic, given the subject material. On the other, it's where my brain keeps going. So... Let's see what happens!

Also: Takeru: "Stay hidden, Patamon!" *puts Patamon on his head and skips offstage* Takeru, sigh...

OH SHIT IT'S ETEMON, saying Taichiiiiihehehehe like a creep ass creeper. He done got beef, too.

Annnnd we cut to everyone reacting because Mimi has no supplies (did you all not bring any?). What I like here, though, is that Jyou can at least talk to her without getting shut down. Poor Kou-chan -__-

Koushiro: "We're amateurs, is there anything we should watch out for?" OH I DUNNO, MAYBE ETEMON IN A HAT AND A VEST god damn I know this is supposed to be funny, but they all look like idiots-

Koushiro: "That old man had a feminine way of speaking" Says the dude being portrayed by a male actor FOR THE FIRST TIME-

Koushiro: "Taichi-san, you're the closest thing to a caveman we have-" Ah, bless.

(At this point, my husband is pointing out while playing Destiny that the puppeteers do really good digimon voices, and I'm explaining that the digimon voices are pre-recorded, lol).

ANNNNND Mimi is whining for supplies that she forbade people to bring. I am shocked.

Jyou is talking about how he wants to help digimon by being a doctor, by saving and protecting, and my heart is growing three sizes. Best Chosen, y'all.

But oof, the atmosphere got so heavy... Why do these kids refuse to talk about what they want to do??? Jyou remains refreshing. Also, I'm just noticing how Koushiro turns his entire body around every single time towards whoever is talking? He leans in, too. It's both cute and unexpected (I would expect much more reserved body language, but I get that this is a play and that's what you do).

HAH! Only Jyou can see the shooting star because he's the only one with his shit together! I love that, lol! (Also, is that really Tailmon's voice actress? Hmm...)

NO, ETEMON HAS KOU-CHAN, BAD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH although really it's painful that we're still pretending they can't recognize Etemon.

Koushiro can't read the room... Well, at least that's familiar, lol!

(At this point, my husband is asking what I think, and I'm stuttering over how annoyed I am at the ‘not-recognizing-Etemon’ gag. My husband is laughing at me and saying I'm at a loss for words. Thanks, love.)

HOLY SHIT did Hikari and Mimi just use the tired "scary stories" trope to bring up the Dark Ocean? I'll give 'em points for that. I AM INTRIGUED, let's go!!! Oh. Oh, they broke it off. They're not doing anything with it. That's... sigh. Thanks, guys. (Caterpillar Sleeping Bag Mimi is cute AF tho).

Hmm, right now I'm thinking that Mimi's actress is so lovely and so lively and really feels like Mimi, but... I also can't stand how they wrote her so far. Throwing Koushiro's computer, talking over him, not allowing him to point out when she's contradicting herself, immediately requesting the supplies she forbade people to bring... This stuff annoyed me in Adventure, but she was 10 and in a situation I would have strongly struggled to handle. But now she's literally... Making problems for everyone... For nostalgia's sake... At age 16? I'm so torn, lol, because the acting is so good but ahhhhh... Let's see how this develops...

Hmm hmm, I'm listening to Sora talk about how she doesn't wanna grow up, either... Darling, you're already quite grown up, lol! Lovely lady. I love how the digimon puppeteers echo their puppets, I can't get enough of watching Agumon's puppet and performer while Sora speaks. They really did a great job!

I think I'm about an hour into this, maybe a little less? 45 minutes? So far all that's really happened is that we've established that the characters want to be together as Chosen Children, and that with the exception of Jyou, they aren't emotionally or mentally prepared to seriously think of a future beyond that. I'll be the first to say that this a compelling and interesting topic, and it's something I've wondered about for them, but... Shouldn't... more things... have happened by now? Hmm... I understood that this would be an issue from Sora's very first bit of dialogue. No one in the audience needs this much expansion and repetition, particularly with so few new ideas and so little momentum so far. Tri is intended as a love letter for fans of Adventure, yes? Mostly adult fans? We don’t need this much repetition to understand, we truly don’t...

Ah! Now Yamato is talking about Jyou and how to become an adult, finally dropping some new ideas in. Love ya, Yams. And ahh, man, Taichi is just... screaming all of his lines? The actor is so sweet and cute, but the delivery... I'm pretty sure it's supposed to reflect that Taichi is putting up fronts like nobody's bidness, though. Yamato ain't buyin' it (Yamato is Almost Best). I really want him to grunt, "Tell the truth or shut up." XD XD GRUNT GRUNT.

Augh, god, I can't take this tho? Literally EVERY TIME someone tries to say something that will move the plot forward or inject some vulnerability into this play (except for Papa Jyou), they change the subject. I'm about halfway through now and this has to be at least the 10th time we've been blocked from useful information and deeper thoughts with this method. Tri suffers from this same issue, though... Their plot is such that they can’t sustain tension if issues are faced in a natural way, so they CHANGE THE SUBJECT or DROP A LEAD or IGNORE A LEAD, etc, etc. Here it's mostly saying, "Well what about you?" or screaming someone else's name, which... Subtle??? Ah, Taichi's latest method of not saying anything is to ask Yamato to play his harmonica... Oh my god, he's playing Walk on the Edge! Okay, okay, you got me, stage play. Hahaha, I remember Yams being better at playing a harmonica, tho!!!! (I keep picking on this poor dude who is asked to do all of the awesome shit Yams can do, sorry my dude).

Taichi: Should we sleep?

Yamato: Let's talk some more.

Taichi: (shit! fuck! He remembered I'm dodging-) YES BECAUSE HE ISN'T AN IDIOT EXCEPT WHEN ETEMON IS ONSTAGE OMG SOMEONE HELP ME-

Ahhh, and they fade out... With no forward movement. THANKS. I mean we established mood, touched on Taichi/Yamato’s relationship, and set up the problems that will be address later (I assume), but... It’s so drawn out...

Oh god, the kids freaking out over their partners acting weird, Gabumon's stage hand collapsing... God, right in the feels, I'm almost mad about how easy it is to get an emotional response this way, lol! We just love our babies too much, lol!

Wow, Yamato lost it at Kou-chan... You know, we think of Taichi as carrying a lot of pressure (and rightfully so), but Koushiro carries just as much, as we saw in Kokuhaku. He's not magic, Yams, he needs his tools, and he doesn't have 'em. Related: Although I don't much care for how it happened, I definitely would love to read/write/see a story where Koushiro has no computer and has to adapt, though. I'd also love to see one where a new tech wizard appears and he questions his role, but that's a whole' nother thing.

EWW OH MY GOD DON'T UNDRESS ETEMON MIMI WHAT THE HELL, bleeeeehhhhhhh... Oh god, he thought his outfit was obvious... Well, you see Etemon, somewhere in the last 6 years, the kids completely lost their ability to read situations x__x (I get that this is a joke, I really do? But???)

Oh huh, so they're claiming Etemon wandered the Dark Ocean for 100 years? Didn't he... Come back in Adventure as MetalEtemon? Is he referencing his second defeat? ?????

(My husband has informed me that I'm growling. He tells me that, when we were watching Gravity Falls and Mabel tries to tempt Dipper and the others to stay in the perfect imaginary world Bill made for her, I said, "What is she, Satan? Tempting them to stay here in comfort instead of facing danger to save everyone?" This is a similar scenario, and it's one of the few things I didn't like about Gravity Falls and OH NO, TAICHI IS THE MABEL OF THIS SITUATION, HELP!!!! Oh thank goodness, Taichi's done with this too, whew, okay, okay, breathe, stop growling).

Oh God, the Agumon puppet looks dead without the puppeteer, that's actually really awful? These puppets are amazing, guys. I cannot say enough good stuff about the execution with these puppets.

Hmm, Taichi just begged for mercy, and Etemon is unimpressed... Reminds me of the fandom after Saikai. I wonder where they'll take this...

HOLY SHIT Taichi is losing his shit! I won't say that all of that stammering and dodging earlier is accounted for here, since most of the characters did it to some degree, but it's nice to see the payoff within the same piece (instead of waiting months for the next Tri film and forming your own conclusions in that time period). I'm actually happy to see a screaming breakdown like this...

Man Koushiro speaks SO QUICKLY, dude, slow it down!!! Ahhh, he says that we're granted whatever we want here, so Etemon is probably trying to trick us by having us hear Jyou. SOMEONE IS THINKING USING THEIR BRAINSSS I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!

JYOU IS HEREEEE TO SAVE THE DAAAAAAYYY THE NEW DIGI JESUS, JYOUUUUUU!!! (And while I 100% agree that you should be cautious, Kou-chan, c'mon, he arrived saying that you made his phone go off on the train and it made him feel awkward, that's pretty much proof that it's Jyou, lol!). OH AND NOW KOU AND YAMS ARE ROASTING JYOU, classic.

Koushiro finally takes a stab directly at the heart of this... It's not even about being children and avoiding adulthood; it's about not wanting to leave August 1st. I realize exposition is Kou's job, but I didn't expect him to be the one to lay it out after all of this dodging. I’ll be honest, I’m so pleased with Koushiro in this stage play so far? I love how he moves, I love how quickly he speaks, I love that he’s able to come out and say this. I wasn’t into the way the play used him spouting off numbers to indicate intelligence, but that’s a nitpick compared to the ground they gave Koushiro here.

JYOU. JYOU. EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, KOUSHIRO, I BELIEVE IN YOU. He continues to be THE BEST, I am in awe, I bow before Jyou.

Okay so now Taichi is freaking out and Koushiro is trying to talk to him (roughly 70% of this stage play is someone trying and failing to talk to someone else). But I really like what Taichi says here- "I have nothing to hesitate about." We all know this isn't true; Taichi is hesitating all over the place right now. Let's see where this goes! (Please let it go somewhere this time, lord above). WAIT- WAIT- ARE YOU SHOWING ME KOUSHIRO POINTING FINGERS AT TAICHI'S BULLSHIT AND SAYING "I'VE BEEN BY YOUR SIDE FOR SIX YEARS!!" AND THEN CUTTING AWAY?!?!??!?!?!?!? RAAAAAAAHHHH is this an aneurysm? I think this is what an aneurysm feels like. You can't drop lines that good and then CUT AWAY FROM IT GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN-

Mimi saying "I want to do SO many things!" is refreshing my soul. I know she's one of the most shippable Chosen, but honestly, if not for the fact that she has a kid that is clearly biologically hers, I would assume that she's too busy doing EVERYTHING to have a family. My headache recedes just a touch.

Hmm... I actually really like what Sulky (Yams) is trying to say here. "I don't want to be with everyone because I'm Chosen. I want to be with Gabumon because he's my friend," basically. Part of me sides with Jyou- dude we all get that, it's not a shameful secret- but another part of me... Deeply appreciates that Yams can separate his duty as a Chosen from his bond with his digimon. Gabumon is his best friend, his number one. It doesn't matter if Gabumon can't fight, if Yamato can never digivolve him again. It doesn't even matter that he's a digimon. It just matters that they're friends, and that they be together somehow, which may seem a more tenuous position by the day. ...Now I'm sad. Well played, stage play. This moment is wonderful.

...Annnnnnd now Yamato is overacting to hell, and I'm laughing instead of thinking and feeling, was that supposed to happen? Sigh. I still don't understand why he has to be SO SECRETIVE about it, but I mean... That's our Yams???

And now we're back to Kou and Taichi, and they're pulling at each other's throats, as they will, and honestly this is the only "NOW KISS" moment for me, but where was I-

In all seriousness, I really like that the person to finally, FINALLY get the truth from Taichi is Koushiro. That's how it often was in Adventure too, yes? But I almost feel like Taichi's breakdown here is a reflection of what fans said in Saikai. Taichi in Adventure always took action (although he grew so much during Adventure, I'd argue the version of himself he's referencing now wasn't there by the end of Adventure?). He can't fight in Saikai because he's concerned about hurting people/property/the tenuous relationship between humans and digimon. He can't take action... But the ability to see that is an indication of growth, not regression. Will he understand that here?

Ok god, Agu-chan is dropping some truth bombs... And the way he and his puppeteer crawl... I swear these goddamm puppets will be the death of me.

Agu-chan, can you do me a solid and STAMP THIS ALL OVER EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE KIDS PLEASE AND THANK YOU?!

The use of screens and images in the stage play are really fun! It must have been awesome to see this show in person O__o;;

AHHHHH OKAY OKAY I have no idea how I’m going to analyze this. My surface thought is that this play features a lot of the emotions and inner thoughts of individual characters that can’t fit into Tri, and that (I personally think) Tri suffers from a lack of. Because there isn’t really ship bait and maneuvering around a new character and plot, we’re able to see relationships that feel much more familiar to Adventure than we often see in Tri (ie, Taichi worried about Hikari, Koushiro worried about Taichi, etc). As you noticed, I’m very unhappy with the way the play pushes the payoff back as far as possible, cramming it into an AMAZING twenty minutes or so... But I loved those twenty minutes.

Also, Koushiro feels waaaay more like Koushiro than he does in Tri, except for Kokuhaku. As your local insane Koushiro fan girl, I am standing and applauding and screaming and crying. NO PERVY KOUSHIRO. NO FASHION DISASTERS. Just Koushiro being supportive and apt and sweet and trying so hard. I am refreshed. I am younger.

And the passion and love and energy that went into us, so visibly in human form... I can’t describe how wonderful the actors and the puppeteers were. And even though I kind of hated Etemon, his actor was incredible.

So the stage play has amazing points and really irritating points, but on the whole, it’s my second favorite thing Tri has given us (following Kokuhaku). I will try to write about it more smart-like soon! If you got this far... I’m in awe, lol! High five, my friend!

Piper Wrenchley’s “Big Ol’ Honkin’” OC Questionnaire

A. Psychology

What of the Meyers-Briggs personality types they most fit into? INFP, ENFT, et cetera…

ESFP! “Playful, enthusiastic, friendly spontaneous, tactful, flexible. Have strong common sense, enjoy helping people in tangible ways,” per Wikipedia.

What alignment are they? Chaotic neutral, lawful evil, et cetera…

Piper is neutral good. She has a strong sense of justice and moral righteousness, but isn’t above bending the rules to help others.

Do they have any emotional or psychological conditions? Are they aware of it?

Piper has ADHD, but, since the only time she’s ever seen a psychologist was for grief counseling after the death of her father, she’s never been formally diagnosed.

Do they try to treat it?

Not really!

Are they a pessimist or an optimist?

Piper is an eternal optimist.

Are they good at handling change in their life?

For the most part, yes. Plumbing often requires the ability to react to unexpected and unpleasant circumstances, a skill which Piper uses to adjust to other matters in her life.

Does your OC tend to assume their interpretation of events and reality is correct, or do they question it? I.e., “I’m sure that’s what you said” versus “It’s possible I misheard you.”

Piper is the sort of person who’d forget her head in the morning if it wasn’t screwed on; there’s lots of sticky-notes and writing on the backs of her hands involved in her staying functional. As such, she doesn’t mind deferring to others when it comes to matters of memory and perception -- so long as it seems like they’re being honest with her.

Is your OC confident in their reactions to life in general, or do they get embarrassed or easily shamed for it? I.e., if something startles them, do they insist it WAS scary? When they cry, do they feel like they overreacted?

Piper very rarely feels shame -- she spends twelve hours a day caked in grime and filth, after all.

Is your OC a martyr?

Definitely not. Piper is quite willing to suffer in silence -- perhaps overly so.

Does your OC make a lot of excuses? For themselves? Others?

Piper’s father taught her that success is all about self-reliance -- pulling oneself up by one’s bootstraps, as the saying goes. She is, therefore, often hesitant to make excuses and prefers to own up to missteps in as honest and forthright a way as possible.

Does your OC compromise easily? Too easily?

Piper is pretty affable and easy-going, but she also knows how to push for what she deserves.

Does your OC put others’ needs before their own?

Yes. Piper believes strongly in being charitable toward the less-fortunate.

Not really.

Piper has a fear of losing those close to her that stems from discovering her father’s body after he was murdered.

Sometimes, Piper can be rather oblivious to the emotional states of others, but she can be quite empathetic with a little context.

Piper can spot a hairline crack in a pipe from dozens of yards away, and her ability to pick out the best hole-in-the-wall pizza place from among hundreds is legendary.

Piper is absolutely the sort of person who has to experience a situation before she can learn any of the associated lessons. She’s a very hands-on learner.

What’s one of your OC’s proudest moments of themselves?

“Piper,” said the prosecutor, managing a kind smile for the nervous ten-year-old on the witness’s stand, “you used to spend a lot of time at your dad’s work, right?”

“Yeah,” replied Piper, nodding her head slowly, memories of pretending to work at her dad’s desk, recording a cheerful message on his voicemail, and playing with a set of Fisher Price plastic tools while sitting on his rug flooding her mind and filling her with a mixture of nostalgia and anguish.

“Did your dad ever meet with customers or visitors while you were there?”

Piper nodded again. “Y-Yeah. He had lots’a people who came to see him. Everyone liked him.”

“I’m sure they did.” The prosecutor moved closer; she meant it to be a comforting gesture, but Piper shrank back in her seat just the same. “Piper -- was there ever someone who would come by that seemed to make your dad uncomfortable or scared?”

“Objection,” bellowed the defense attorney from his seat. “Leading the witness!”

“Overruled,” replied Judge Amethyst Adams. “Piper, dear, please answer the question.”

There was a long pause, this time, before Piper responded. “... Yes.”

“Is that person in this courtroom right now?”

For the first time since her father’s murder, Piper made eye contact with Johnny Ghiaccio. She reflected on the strained smile her father would flash him whenever he entered his office; on the hushed conversations they’d have in the corner; on the way that Ghiaccio would pound his hand into his fist as they spoke.

Ghiaccio was staring daggers at her. It was the sort of look that promised pain if she were to cooperate with the district attorney’s office.

She thought, for a moment, about remaining silent.

Then, she scowled right back, raised her hand, and pointed her finger right at him.

“Him,” she spat.

Do they get jealous easily? Do they feel bad if they do?

Piper rarely gets jealous unless it’s a matter involving her perennial crush, Jerome Valentine.

What instantly irritates them or puts them in a bad mood?

Those who commit crimes without regard for the feelings and circumstances of others.

Are they harsh on themselves?

Piper’s father would often say that he knew he didn’t have to punish his daughter for misbehavior, because she’d be harder on herself than he would ever be.

Is your OC intended to be found generally attractive? Unattractive? Average? Is there a reason why?

Piper’s far too short to make it as a model or actress, but she’s still very pretty in a charming, friendly sort of way.

Does your OC place much importance on their appearance? Do they feel confident in it?

Piper devotes about as much time to personal grooming and upkeep as the average woman, but she doesn’t regularly wear makeup and is pretty relaxed about her physical appearance.

What are some of your OC’s biggest personal obstacles? This could be emotional, physical, social… Are they aware of it? Are they trying to overcome it?

Childhood tragedy has made it difficult for Piper to trust others at times, especially those with checkered pasts. She has a tendency to bury herself in her work instead of confronting her problems.

B. Social

Do they believe you have to give respect to get it, or get respect to give it?

Piper is a strong believer in mutual respect.

Do they get frustrated when lines at places like pharmacies, check-outs, delis, banks, et cetera, are moving slowly?

Internally, having to wait around like that makes Piper frustrated -- but since she’s part of a profession that often has to deal with demanding or unpleasant customers, she never takes it out on the staff.

Under what situations would they get angry at servers, staff, customer service, et cetera?

Almost never. Piper’s the sort of person who will tip a waiter or driver 20% for everything short of being punched in the face.

Do they tip well? How easily can they be moved to not leave a tip?

Piper tips generously in almost every circumstance.

Do they hold doors open for people?

Yes.

Would your OC let someone ahead of them in line if your OC had a big cart and the person behind them had very few items?

Yes!

How do they respond to babies crying in public?

Piper thinks that all babies -- even snot-nosed, wailing airplane babies -- are absolutely adorable.

Is your OC considered funny? Do they believe they’re funny?

Piper has that Patrick Warburton quality of being very funny, but not intentionally funny a lot of the time.

What kind of humor does your OC like the most? Slapstick, ironic, funny sounds, scare pranks, xD sO rAnDoM…

Piper is a big fan of screwball, slapstick comedy.

Does your OC find any “bad” or “mean” humor funny? Do they wish they didn’t?

Not really. She always changes the channel when the folks on Jackass go from hurting themselves in inventive ways to disturbing the peace and pranking innocent bystanders.

Your OC is running late to meeting someone: Do they let the other person know? Do they lie about why they’re late?

Piper would definitely give the other person a courtesy call; she would also take responsibility on arrival.

Your OC orders something to eat and gets their order done in a pretty wrong way, something they can’t just pick off or whatnot to correct, or something major is missing. What do they do?

I doubt she’d even notice.

Do they have a large or small group of friends?

Piper has a large, talkative, mostly Italian/Jewish circle of friends and family. She is, of course, also quite close with her Hope’s Horizon classmates.

Do they have people they (that?) are genuinely honest with about themselves?

Yes. Piper’s friends tend to be quite frank with her.

Does your OC enjoy social events, such as parties, clubs, et cetera..?

Piper has a great time at parties, even if sometimes, she has trouble reading the room and celebrates a bit too boisterously.

Does your OC like to be the center of attention or more in the mix?

Piper’s pretty comfortable in either role.

C. Morality

Does your OC have a moral code? If not, how do they base their actions? If so, where does it come from, and how seriously do they take it?

Piper doesn’t have a codified set of morals, but she generally behaves in a morally upright manner nonetheless.

Would your OC feel bad if they acted against their morals? If not, would they find a way to excuse themselves for it?

Yes, Piper would feel bad, but it’s rare that she does.

Is it important for them to be with people (socially, intimately, whatever) whose major ideological tenets align with their own?

Piper is pretty open-minded, but she draws the line when it comes to spending time with career criminals or (especially) those with gang or mafia affiliations.

Do they consider themselves superior or more important than anyone else? Lesser?

Nah; she’s pretty down-to-earth.

Do your OC’s morals and rules of common decency go out the window when it comes to those they don’t like, or when it’s inconvenient? Aka, are their morals situational?

Flexible, to a degree; situational, no.

What do they do when they see someone asking for money or food? If they ignore them, why? If they help, how so?

Piper is fairly charitable and generous. If someone were begging for money or food, she’d probably offer to take them to a nearby fast food restaurant and let them order something off the menu.

Do they believe people change over time? If so, is it a natural process or does it take effort?

Piper believes that people can change naturally, or they can change, over time, if they apply themselves.

Is your OC more practical or ideal morally? I.e., do they hold people to high expectations of behavior even if it’s not realistic for the situation, or do they have a more realistic approach and adapt their morality to be more practical?

Piper’s morality is more practical.

D. Religion and Life and Death

How religious is your OC? What do they practice, if anything? If they don’t associate with any religion, what do they think of religion in general?

Piper is Jewish -- on her mother’s side -- by lineage, but she doesn’t really practice many traditions of that faith; she would never voluntarily give up bacon, for instance, but she’ll plug in a plastic menorah during the Hanukkah season. Her father was Catholic, and marginally more serious about his religion; while he was alive, she attended midnight mass once a year around Christmastime, and attended, for a time, a private, religious school.

Do they believe in an afterlife?

Yes.

How comfortable are they with the idea of death?

Uncomfortable.

Would they like to be immortal? Why, why not? If they are immortal, would they rather not be?

Even though Piper has some hang-ups about death, she would not like to be immortal, because she wants to see her father again someday.

Do they believe in ghosts? If not, why? If so, do they think they’re magical/tie into their religion, or are they scientifically plausible?

Piper doesn’t have strong feelings one way or the other about ghosts, but ghost stories still freak her out.

E. Education and Intelligence

Would you say that your OC is intelligent? In what ways? Would your OC agree?

Piper is street-smart and excellent at all the kinds of math necessary to run a small business and do plumbing work, but her intellect is otherwise average at best.

Which of the nine types of intelligence is your OC strongest in? Weakest? (Linguistic, existential, naturalist, et cetera)

Piper’s spatial intelligence is definitely her best mental asset. Since she is utterly tone-deaf and has no sense of rhythm whatsoever, her musical intelligence is arguably the worst.

How many languages do they speak?

Piper speaks English fluently. She also knows some Yiddish thanks to her grandmother, enough Italian to listen to a simple conversation or order at a Sicilian restaurant, and enough Spanish to buy choice cuts of meat from her local butcher.

Did they enjoy school if they went to it?

Piper enjoys the social aspects of attending school, but she is a talkative student with the attention span of a small dog and has never had great academic success.

What’s their highest education level? Do they want to continue their education?

I always imagined Piper as the sort of person who’d be done with formal education after high school. As the Ultimate Plumber, she certainly has enough on-the-job training and business acumen to survive in the Real World after that.

Do they enjoy learning? Do they actively seek out sources of self-education?

Piper enjoys learning to build, make, and fix things, but she’s never been especially enthusiastic about book-learning.

Are they a good note-taker? Are they a good test-taker? Do exams make them nervous?

Piper’s notes, when she takes them, tend to be incredibly disorganized and indecipherable to all but those with similarly-awful handwriting. She is a horrible test-taker but this does not concern her at all.

What’s one of your OC’s biggest regrets?

If Piper could go back in time, she would, of course, try to stop her father’s murder.

What sort of home do they live in now, if at all? How did they end up there?

Piper lives in her family’s apartment in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York.

Piper’s ideal home is her family’s apartment in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York.

Could they ever live in a “tiny home”?

Piper’s current home is fairly cramped -- just the way she likes it.

How clean are they overall with home upkeep?

Piper keeps a surprisingly clean home. Her bathroom, in particular, is always sparkling and thoroughly disinfected.

How handy are they? Can they fix appliances, cars, cabinets, et cetera?

Piper can fix just about anything given the correct tools, even if she doesn’t have the instructions handy. The exception to this would be computers or technology where complex circuitry and electricity is involved.

How much do they work? What do they do? Do they enjoy it?

Piper is a plumber, and there isn’t a thing in the world she’d rather do.

What’s their “dream career” or job situation?

See above.

How often are they home?

Piper tends to work long days, and usually six or seven days a week.

Are they homebodies and enjoy being home?

Piper doesn’t mind being home, but she’d rather be out somewhere doing something fun.

Do they engage in any of the arts? How good do you intend them to be? Would they agree they are?

Piper enjoys singing and dancing but is bad at both.

What are some of their favorite things to do for recreation? How did they get into it? What part of it do they like the most?

When she isn’t plumbing, Piper enjoys eating incredibly unhealthy food, watching action movies (Die Hard is a favorite franchise of hers), and swimming in her local indoor pool.

Would they enjoy a theme park?

Yes! Piper is always keen to ride the tallest and most dangerous-looking roller coasters.

G. Family and Growing Up

Is your OC close to their family?

Extremely.

Who makes up your OC’s family, at least the more important members to them?

Piper is/was very close to her mother and father, respectively. She also has two older brothers, Fixer and Spanner, who help her run her late father’s plumbing business.

Does your OC find their family supportive? If not, what would be an example why not?

Piper’s family is extremely supportive.

What kind of childhood did your OC have?

Up until her father’s murder, Piper’s child was pleasant, wholesome, and just about everything a child could want.

Did they go through any typical phases growing up?

Not really; aside from her lackadaisical attitude toward school, she was a very well-behaved child.

Do they have any favorite childhood memories?

Her fondest childhood memories involve sitting on her father’s shoulders as he walked -- or took the bus or train -- from plumbing job to plumbing job, telling his daughter about the history of New York and pointing out famous places or buildings all the while.

Do they have any childhood memories they’d rather forget or be less affected by?

Yes.

H. Romance and Intimacy

What is your OC’s orientation, romantic and/or sexual? Has it ever been a source of stress for them? Have they always been pretty sure of their orientation?

Piper is straight as an arrow, a fact which has never been a source of stress for her.

Is your OC a thoughtful partner, in whatever aspect of that you want to cover?

Piper is the sort of person who is utterly devoted to whosoever catches her eye.

Piper herself is monogamous, but she has nothing against people who want to take on many partners, or who choose not to take

Does your OC believe in love in first sight?

Yes.

Yes!

Has your OC ever cheated on anyone or been cheated on?

No.

What do they look for in partners? (Emotionally, mentally, physically...)

In a partner, Piper looks for someone who is friendly, approachable, handsome, and willing to put up with her long work hours and adorable antics.

What’s your OC’s idea of a perfect date?

A sewer tour, naturally. Visiting the world-famous and historical sewer system of Paris, France -- in operation since the 12th century -- is a life-goal.

What are some things that your OC finds to be an instant turn-off in potential partners?

Connections to organized crime, poor personal hygiene, being a Red Sox fan.

I. Food

What are their favorite kinds of flavors– Sweet, salty, sour, spicy, creamy, et cetera?

Piper is big on umami -- savory -- flavors. She loves bacon and other fatty meats.

Do they have any eating requirements or preferences? Allergies, vegetarian, organic-only, religious restrictions…

Were she a more serious Jew, Piper would of course abstain from bacon and follow other dietary restrictions common to her mother’s religion -- but she isn’t, so she doesn’t.

Are they vegan/vegetarian (if their overall culture/species generally aren’t)? If so, why? Do they think animal products are wrong in all circumstances?

Piper is definitely not vegetarian or vegan, but she does eat halal/kosher meat when she can because she believes that process for slaughtering animals is more humane.

How often do they cook? Do they order out a lot?

Piper is a horrible cook, but perfectly content to eat her own food. I have to imagine that her unfortunate future husband would either do much of the cooking or order out a lot.

Are they a good cook?

Absolutely not.

Could they eat the same thing they enjoy over and over and not get bored of it quickly?

Yes, but she does also enjoy trying new things.

J. Politics, Current Events, Environmental Aspects

Where does your OC stand most politically? What would they align with most?

Piper is extremely liberal, as is her entire family.

How politically aware are they?

About as aware as the average citizen -- so, not very.

How politically active are they?

I imagine her being someone who regularly votes in national and local elections, but she doesn’t do much political activism beyond that.

Is your OC the sort to fall for fake news? If not, do they ignore it or make a point to clarify that it’s wrong?

Boy does she ever fall for fake news. This is something that her friends and future spouse will have to assist her with.

Are they or would they protest for a cause they’re passionate about?

Piper would absolutely protest if she felt motivated enough to do so. She’d make hideous protest signs.

How do they react to people whose political viewpoints are very opposite of theirs?

As long as they aren’t being deliberately offensive or revolting, Piper is pretty capable of getting along with just about anyone, irrespective of their political leanings.

How much interest in environmental health do they have?

Piper appreciates nature, but the environment isn’t a huge focus for her, politically.

In reality-based or applicable worlds, do they believe in global warming? Do they recycle?

Piper believes in global warming and recycles.

L. For the Writer/Owner

How have your characters changed since you created them?

Piper has probably been the most consistent of the characters I’ve created for the Danganronpa/Zero Escape campaigns run by my circle of friends. While others have gone through some pretty serious changes from creation to now, Piper has remained almost exactly the same.

What do you consider the biggest themes in your character, if any?

Optimism in the face of disaster, death and loss, family.

Did you create the character to be like yourself, did they end up being like yourself, or are they very different from you?

Piper is not very much like me, except that her closeness with her family mirrors how I feel about mine.

Would you hang out with your OC if you could?

I absolutely would.

How did you come up with your OC?

In @thores‘s Perfect Crime system, it’s standard to create three characters for a campaign. I had created two already and needed one more, and I was really stumped on who it ought to be. Finally, one day at about five o’clock in the morning (as I recall), I just came up with her at random -- the general idea first, with her tragic backstory coming later.
