Honestly with my new definition of "soul like silver" for my own au, and with the way I am trying to write silver, I'm kinda realizing that Silver is a genuine candidate for both Ho-Oh and Lugia's Chosen. Which just makes it very funny that he ends up getting Chosen by Celebi.
Even weirder, I also feel like at first glance, Aiko and Silver should be switched? Aiko was always in tune with nature and pokemon and her grandparents are close to Ilex forest so like. You'd think it would have been her. But no, she gets Chosen by the Lugia. I'm definitely going to rewrite how that goes along side Silver really. I think it's a matter of them eventually growing into their Chosen Status ( Aiko strengthening her resolve, Silver....doing whatever he does, I need to think about it) and eventually becoming worthy.

I need to wait until I'm done figuring out my Kanto stuff but I asked on a discord server i'm in what they thought " soul like silver" meant. This is the answer I got that honestly really helped me.
Tumblr media
This person also added that they might be more logic based but still actively trying to do the right thing. Again I'm. So happy for this answer bc it helped me with Aiko a bit, and better yet her parallel to Kenji.
I wrote it more in depth in discord but this is like. The Gist.
Heart of Gold: Emotion.
Soul of Silver: Resolve.
I would say that both Kenji and Aiko are emotional, empathetic kids. But the key difference is how they start vs how they end.
Kenji starts of with a goal in mind and a resolve to obtain it: be the best like his hero Red. He is dead set on this goal, nothing will deter him from it. This is his resolve. However, he is also an empathetic heart. His arc would be of letting that empathy shine- it makes Togepi more important, bc his revolve to be the very best is telling him that Togepi has to evolve, that it has to be strong to reach his goal. And yet Togepi only really evolved up to a Togetic. He doesn't want to go any further. Heck he doesn't even want to battle. And it takes a level of empathy and understanding to go " oh, I guess I should respect my pokemon wishes here instead of wishing it could be something it doesn't want". Basically Kenji is practicing what he preach ( to Silver). To better understand pokemon and to better protect and love for them, and by extension, others. A heart of gold.
Aiko starts of being the more empathetic of the two I think. Again, these two are Feelers™, so it's hard to put one in front of the other, but Aiko never had that hard goal like Kenji did. She didn't really have a goal at all, simply enjoying her time with her pokemon. However, the one resolved she did was that she did not want to be a pokemon professor like her dad. She did not want to follow her father's legacy. Which is something Elm is totally fine with btw, he's fully supportive of his daughter figuring out what she wants. And like. She's 10, it's fine. So in Aiko's case, her arc is finding that resolve and confidence to do better ( especially since she wants to beat Silver). Her training under the Kimono girls is what helps her strengthen her resolve, her sense of justice. Like. I wouldn't call Aiko weak willed, but she's not really shining, you know. The kimono girls help make her soul shine like silver.
Hopefully all of that makes lol. I felt like sharing bc it's really making me see Aiko in a new perspective I guess.
The bonus is how both of these things reflect silver. Kenji possibly fears he's no better than Silver in the way he thinks about pokemon. Aiko and Silver both defy their father's legacy ( though one has a healthier relationship with their dad than the other). All three of them are Determined™ and all three of them are good kids.
Beryl is the obvious outlier being older and not exactly relating fully to Lugia or Ho-Oh; their a Suicune chosen lol. But I think that's a good thing given it helps ground these three a lot.

Aiko Elm :)
One of the ocs that I always feel is just isn't right lmao. When recreating her again, I just gave her brown eyes, instead of her usual black.....mostly bc the picrew's black eyes are soulless, and Aiko is anything but. It does look good on her, I will admit.
I'm not sure if I ever mentioned this outright but I've always seen Aiko more masc/androgynous when she's older. And I think that was what I was insecure about, given how she's based off Lyra and most fanarts and interpretations of Lyra aren't usually that. Which is fine! The problem was me trying to make Aiko more Lyra than she was Aiko. I still think she dresses more feminine time to time. This picrew kinda helped me visualize her better, heh. Especially her hair, god, I really like how this picrew shows it, it fits her waaaay better.
Her overalls are still part of her main design! I just wanted to experiment more, which really helped!
Anyway, here's the picrew I used!

Adding even more to my Aiko post, the kimono girls definitely push Aiko to think about it after she defeats silver. Like okay, you did your goal, what then? This definitely helps solidify Aiko as Lugia's Chosen, cause she knows in her soul that she wants to use her newfound strength to protect and teach others. That is the " soul like silver" that the kimono girls know Lugia's Chosen for.

Ooooo, now that I'm thinking about her, maybe with Aiko, because she was always a battling trainer, she thought that battling was just throwing strong moves against the opponent and win. I mean, it has worked for Kenji, so it would work for her right? Well. Not exactly. I think by Ecruteak City, Aiko only really has 4 pokemon on her. Most of which she hasn't really trained or battled with outside of any encounters with Team Rocket. And again, she isn't taking the gym challenge either. Most of her battle experience is with team rocket or watching Kenji do his gym challenge.
I point this out because Ecruteak City is where I want Aiko and Kenji to have their first battle. Aiko is tired of Silver being a jerk to both people and pokemon, and challenges him to a battle. Originally, I wanted Silver to deny her one, not even sparing her a glance, but I think, just to prove his point, he would battle her. And absolutely destroy her in it. It's one thing to be actively ignored by the jerk. It's another thing to be ignored, then acknowledged, only to be told that "you were always weak, so don't even bother". Like that must have shattered Aiko's confidence at the time. And thus kick-starts her training. And going back to the beginning of this post, she genuinely struggles with it. Her marill, Louie, is arguably her strongest pokemon, but it's not as battle ready as the starters are. She doesn't have any gym badges either, so while her pokemon do love her, they aren't so easy to command in battle. And on top of all that, she just thinks she has to hit things until it dies. Not a bad strategy mind you, but it doesn't always work, especially for a newbie trainer like her. So she's losing way more than she's winning. And to tie all of this in a neat bow, Aiko starts to wonder her purpose in general. She's not a gym challenger like Kenji. She's not a professor's assistant like Beryl. She's not even some strong jerk like Silver. So what good can she do? Is she really sullying her dad's name by not taking interest in his work? She doesn't know. She doesn't know what's so special about Aiko Elm. ( Thanks a lot Silver...how the fuck did you two end up dating for a bit, like damn)
Also I should mention, Kenji also struggled with the " I should hit things until I win" mindset. The difference between him and Aiko is that 1) it still worked out for him well and 2) by Ecruteak City, he's been traveling and training enough to realize " oh I probably should think more when battling" , plus the general experience of the journey so far has helped him greatly.
Also also, when Kenji finds out how Silver treated Aiko in the burned tower, it quickly elevates things to " man, I wish silver wasn't so mean, but I respect him as a rival and potential friend!" To " fuck you, you treat your pokemon like shit and made my best friend cry, catch these hands" which is honestly very based of him.
Finally, I think after her loss against Silver, is when the kimono girls start to come into play. This could potentially lead to a group split....Kenji goes to face Jasmine and Chuck ( though admittedly it would be weird if Aiko wasn't there to see her uncle), Aiko gets picked up by one of the kimono girls ( one of them finds her crying) and Beryl heads to Mahogany Town get more pokemon for the pokedex/ check of Pryce, since Morty mentioned having not heard from him in a while( cause Rocket). Still, a big maybe, since Beryl was in charge of Aiko and Kenji by Elm, but I think she trusts them enough to go on their own.
Okay I think I got all my Aiko rambles out, I like where this is heading!

Back on my Aiko bullshit. Girl I'm so sorry, I can't seem to make up my mind about you. Like always, there's details that can't be replicated on a picrew. The problem here is that I'm still figuring out said details. I think she would have a necklace of Lugia's item ( forgot what it's called) and her overalls would have a red bow belt, since I honestly find it hard for her to wear a bow on her hair. Maybe her overalls have some sage details on them, since I do want her connection to Lugia be a bit more apparent.
Also, don't worry, short hair Aiko is still a thing, but I did want to make her stand out from Kenji and Beryl, who both have shorter hair cuts. I don't think her hair is as long as the picrew ( that honor goes to silver lol) but a decent sized low ponytail/pigtails would do.
I'm still working on her team btw. Too lazy to do a playthrough though lmao.

Hello! My name is R, and welcome to:
The Legendverse
The Legendverse is a Pokemon au featuring my ocs that follows the concept of Legendary Pokemon being slightly more involved with the main events of the pokemon games than they lead on. Before getting into the specifics of that, let's get into-
The Timeline
The Legendverse follows a semi linear timeline of events, and it's ever expanding with the new Pokemon games that are coming out. Here's what the timeline looks so far:
PLA: 1868 -1872
FRLG/Emerald: 2005
HGSS/Platinum: 2008
BW: 2012
B2W2: 2014
XY: 2015
SM: 2016
USUM: 2018
SWSH: 2020
SV: 2025
Some things to note: USUM is treated as a sequel in this au. I don't really have a clear idea of what the plot is going to be but it is going to involve the Ultra Recon Squad and Ultra Necrozma. Secondly, PLA and the time between SM and SWSH are connected. As in Ingo and an oc of mine gets isekaied to Hisui during SM and come back sometime after the main plot of SWSH. 4 years in Hisui years, 4 years in modern times. Finally, SV will be added, but given how the games haven't been released yet,I cannot make a fair judgment onto where in the timeline this takes place. For personal reasons I hope it would make sense for it to be some time after SwSh, but we will see.
With the timeline explained, now we can get into the meat of the Legendverse:
Legendaries and The Chosens
This will be a bit difficult to explain so let's start with the pure basics. In this au, Legendary Pokemon are essentially able to Choose a person as their Chosen, which more often than not, are my protagonists for this au. They are given the smallest fraction of the Legendaries power and are tasked to, from the Chosens understanding, protect the world from disaster,  which usually mean defeating the evil teams. However, uh, the Chosens may not even know this. This is where things get messy. When it comes to the protagonists of this au, the common theme is that they are, well, the protagonist: young and off the mixed up in a thing that kids their age shouldn't be getting mixed into. Theres also a sense of fate involved: most Chosen where Chosen either at birth or at a young age. But, for some reason, it doesn't apply to all. What's more is that being Chosen is kinda permanent until the Legendary decided otherwise, so these protagonists are effectively growing up superpowered- okay, it's not as obvious as that. See when I said this is messy? It can get confusing really quickly, especially as the why it's all happening. Legendaries are fickle beings after all. Either you will get some vague answer, or none at all. Or the Legendary doesn't even know themself, which adds more confusion and frustration for any Chosen involved.
Now, amongst this mess, there's still some structure. For one, man made pokemon of any kind cannot Choose a Chosen. Arceus cannot as well, but purely for the fact that it is Arceus. Even the smallest fraction of power from them would not only be too much power from them, but too much power for the user to even comprehend. Bascically, it can overwhelming really fast and can end badly, really fast. So no Chosen One for Arceus.
There's also seem to be some sort of….. hierarchy. Arceus, of course, is the one at the top, being the Creator, followed by the Lake Trio and Creation Trio. If I were to get into it here, this post will be far too long, especially as I am still working it out as we speak. But please know there's something going on here and yes, some Legendaries do know each other.
Now we spoke a lot about the Legendaries and The Chosen Ones. But who exactly are the Chosen Ones? Well…..
The Protagonist Ocs
Truthfully, you should have seen this coming. Unless your new to this blog, then hi, names R, I like making pokemon ocs. Especially protagonist ocs. I have too many and I am going to make it your problem now.
Real talk,in former interactions of this I would simply have the names of the ocs and have them linked to what is their bio, but given my greatest enemy is myself, I tend to be very behind on that. And given my need to gush about them, it really harms and potential conversation I could have about them if you guys don't know about them. So here's the solution! Short descriptions. The long bio's will come at a later time, I assure you, but for you all to get some idea of who the people are that live in my head rent free, you will get short bios. Some context here: all the ages presented are how of they are by SwSh. The ages they were during their individual game event will be in the larger bios. Also there's a main a secondary ( and the mysterious third) protagonist. Okay? Okay. So without further ado~
PLA
Name: Sakura Ume
Age: Somewhere in her 20’s
Gender and pronouns: Nonbinary and she/her. Maybe he/him.
Chosen One of: No one.
Bio: Sakura is simply one of a kind. In an attempt to bridge the gap between humans and pokemon a bit faster, Arceus has the genius idea to create a human being for that role. However, Volo’s and Giratina’s tempering caused her to fall to Hisui, with no knowledge of who she is, only a single goal to her name ‘ catch all pokemon’. Despite this, Sakura is a kind and energetic soul, who’s always willing to help and put those before herself.
Fun Fact: She’s Kiran’s ancestor! They look nothing alike.
Name: Zero Yamamoto
Age: Somewhere is his  20’s
Gender and pronouns: Nonbinary and He/Him They/Them
Chosen One of: No one ( but is the cause for someone else down the line)
Bio: I will admit that Zero’s backstory needs some work, but here’s what I got so far:  formerly was from lost The Platinum Clan, the clan that defected against the Celestica all those ages ago. He is one of the few surviving members. His knowledge comes from his parents who came from their parents and ect. They are all gone, and with nowhere else to turn, Zero found himself under the care of The Galaxy Team- Professor Laventon specifically. Despite his past, Zero is a mild mannered young man, simply wanting to help and not scare off people.
Fun fact: Zero has sharp teeth, which tend to put people off. To counter this, he always wears a red scarf. Also he’s a good cook and makes wonderful tea.
Emerald:
Name: Jin Amachi
Age: 27( swsh) 32( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Nonbinary and They/Them
Chosen One of: Rayquaza
Bio: One of the older protagonists, Jin has changed a lot from when they were a kid. From a rebellious and angry pre-teen to a much more calmer and confident adult. They're still angry, but for different reasons. They are very good at hiding it, however.
Fun fact: They have two hands and it's for Amber and Wally
Name: Kohaku Amber Birch
Age: 27 ( swsh) 32 ( SV )
Gender and Pronouns: Female and She/Her
Chosen One of: Undecided!
Bio:Jin's old rival and now girlfriend! She could have very easily became Champion but she was already set on being a Pokemon professor. Even then she is a strong trainers and a great rival to both Jin and Wally.
Fun fact: The ultimate clutz. How has she survived so long is a mystery.
HGSS/ Crystal
Name: Kenji Hino
Age: 22 ( swsh) 27 ( SV )
Gender and Pronouns: (Trans) Male and He/Him
Chosen One of: Ho-Oh
Bio: Once a boy with a golden heart, growing under the pressure of his own self doubts and fears. He still tries his best and almost never fails to give a smile to those who need it.
Fun fact: Kenji is a bit of an artist! Drawing helps him destress.
Name: Aiko Elm
Age: 22( swsh) 27( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Female and She/Her
Chosen One of: Lugia
Bio: An energetic girl who grew to love martial arts and waving her staff around. She’s Kenji’s childhood friend and considers herself his ultimate rival, though that might just be to annoy Silver. She doesn’t follow the same path as her dad, Prof. Elm, and while he is supportive, she can’t help but wonder what she’s doing with her life.
Fun fact: Aiko trained under both the Kimono girls and her Uncle Chuck! She will kick you ass.
Name: Beryl Jewel
Gender and pronouns: nonbinary and they/she
Age: 25 ( swsh) 30 ( SV )
Chosen one of: Suicune
Bio: A generally chill person, Beryl is a an aspiring pokemon professor and focuses their work on pokemon rescue and rehabilitation. Her family is generally supportive, despite all the drama that had come before. Beryl is very worried for their friends well being.
Platinum
Name: Danica Yamamoto
Age: 23 ( swsh) 28 ( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Female and she/her
Chosen one of: Giratina
Bio: An eerily quite and kinda creepy girl with a knack for kinda just…..appearing. All she wishes is for her to have good battles, protect Sinnoh, and be with her friends, family and pokemon. Recent years have challenged that however.
Fun Fact: She's a baker and aims to own her own bakery.
Name: Kiran Plum
Age: 24 ( swsh) 29 ( SV )
Gender and Pronouns: Demi-boy/non-binary and He/They
Chosen One of: No one. Right now. I think.
Bio: This man has been through so much. To keep it short, he was Professor Rowans assistant, who then became obsessed with Arceus after a chance encounter, to which caused Arceus to send them back in time, where they spend 4 years of his life until he comes back home. He is a incredibly tired, sarcastic professor who desperately needs a nap.
Fun Fact: He has a crush on Barry and is trying so hard not to have one. He's failing.
Black and White and B2W2
Name: Alexis Jones
Age: 22 27
Gender and Pronouns: Male and he/him
Chosen on of: Zekrom
Bio: Another incredibly tired man who have both lost pokemon and an arm during his journey. Nowadays he's much more reclusive, avoiding any discussion of what has happened to both him and those around him. Despite this, he has a hero's heart….even if he doesn't believe it.
Fun Fact: He works( worked?) at a daycare and is incredibly good with baby pokemon.
Name: Elliot Jones
Age: 22( swsh) 27 ( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Female and she/her
Chosen One of: Reshiram
Bio: Alexis' brash and loud younger twin sister, Elliot has not lost pokemon like her brother did when they were kids. But she was there to see the affects of it. Not to mention losing a leg as her brother an arm. She wants to talk about it with her brother, but he makes it difficult. So what does one do? Drag him to Galar for an admittedly impromptu vacation.
Fun Fact: She works at the Gear Station and formed a close uncle- niece bond with the Submas Twins.
Name: Evangeline " Eva" Ortiz
Gender and Pronouns: Female( trans) and She/Her
Age: 21 ( swsh ) 26 ( SV)
Bio: Once a plucky kid aiming to be the very best that no one ever was, is now the champion ( co-champion??? Still working on it) of Unova.  She's sporty, fashionable, and is constantly doing something. She tries her best to be there for people, but has a hard time letting people be there for her. Especially when it comes to the cold.
Fun Fact: She's a bit of a tinkerer! Er, engineer. She loves breaking down and building cool tech. It's common for people to not want her and Volkner to meet, less a gaint Mecha robot is to be built. Oh. Also she and Elliot are dating.
Name: Wayne Kukui
Age: 20 ( swsh ) 25 ( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Male( trans) and he/him
Bio: A former team plasma grunt later to be adopted by Clay, Wayne is the more….awkward one of the Unova gang. He genuinely cares about the well being of Pokemon, and while he is a trainer- a decent one at that- he doesn't do it often. He's a bit naive at times, mostly a side affect of being sheltered by Team Plasma, but he has a good heart and wants the best for everyone!
Fun Fact: He acts as a delivery boy for Clay. Really, Clay just wanted Wayne to interact with people more, but Wayne saw this as some sort of way to repay for his time at Team Plasma, and couldn't be stopped.
Pokemon XY
Jude Bellrose
Age: 22 ( swsh ) 27 ( sv )
Gender and Pronouns: Genderfluid and they/she/he
Chosen One of: Yveltal
Bio: Another nuzlocke protagonist. Jude can be harsh, their words can be cold and they can act like they don't care. However, his journey deeply affected him, causing him to reflect on themself and what they really want. She's getting better.
Fun Fact: They are multilingual! Also has heavy romantic tension with Dante. They need to work on themselves first, though.
Name: Dante LaCroix
Age: 22 ( swsh ) 27 ( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Male and he/him
Chosen One of: Xerneas
Bio: Jude's rival, and son of two veteran trainers. Prided himself in being a good trainer despite his parents, but Jude's talent and attitude caused a severe rivalry between then two. Said rivalry clouded Dante's judgement and made him to be manipulated by Lysandre, though he turned himself around when he realized what Lysandre's goals truly were.
Fun Fact: He works as an assistant detective to Emma!
Pokemon SM / Pokemon USUM
Name: Amsonia Mahina
Age: 15 ( swsh ) 20 ( SV )
Gender and Pronouns: Demigirl and she/they
Chosen One of: Lunala
Bio: Her and her mother moved to Alola -her mother's home region- after finally getting away from her abusive father. She's closed off and selectively mute, so she's not the most cheery of people. However, the more she stays in Alola, the more she begins to heal and begins living her life.
Fun fact: She's Kenji's half sister. They both share the same shitty dad.
Age: 15 ( swsh ) 20 ( SV)
Name: Ray
Gender and Pronouns: Nonbinary and he/him.
Chosen One of:  Most likely Solgeleo
Bio: Is under works! At most he's associated with team skull and acts as the protagonist of USUM, not Amsonia ( which acts pretty different in this au) but I still need to figure things out.
Fun fact: Also in the works!
Pokemon SwSh
Name: Naomi Einar
Age: 15 ( swsh ) 20 ( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Female (trans) and she/her
Chosen One of: Zacian
Bio:( oh boy there's a lot going on so I'm keeping this short). A shy country girl who promised her best friend Hop to go on the gym challenge with him. She fully believes she will fail easily and just slow him down, but can't say no to his face. Has…..foggy memory. Can't seem to remember much, even if it's right in front of her.
Fun fact: Alexis and Elliot are her cousins! She also loves dancing.
Name: Carol Fitzroy
Age: 16 ( Swsh ) 21 ( SV)
Gender and Pronouns: Agender and they/them
Chosen One of: Calyrex
Bio: A troubled teen that came from a not so great situation. Formerly a city kid in Wyndon, they moved to Wedgehurst with their mother, and made fast friends with Naomi and Hop, immediately becoming best friends. They would do anything to keep them safe. Have a deep hatred for their father, Chairman Rose ( they only found out recently).
Fun fact: Loves hugs, especially from Hop and Naomi.
The Johto Exclusive Elite 4!
Luca Valero
Age: 13-14
Gender and pronouns: genderqueer and he/any.
Chosen one of: Terapogos????? Maybe?????
Bio: An energetic boy that has a deep hidden trauma of the darkest day. He tries his best to be a help to anyone and everyone in his life in fear of becoming a burden. He tends to be too stubborn, not knowing when to take a no , but overall is a beacon of light to those around him.
Fun fact: Is a lover of anything pink!
Ramona Beatriz Luna
Age: 16
Gender and pronouns: female ( trans) and she/her.
Chosen one of: None.
Bio: A closed off girl who has been labeled as a bully and "The Calamity" due to her reputations in her old schools. No one knows of the harsh bullying and abuse that she has went through to gain such a closed heart, and because of that she has pretty much gave up on herself, Naranja Uva academy being her last hope. Despite her rough exterior she is pretty chill and level headed, and cares much more than she lets on.
Fun fact: She's childhood friends with Arven. It didn't end well.
And that's it! That's all of them! Well, that's a lie. These are just the protagonist/Chosen ocs I have. Truth be told, there's actually a lot of Pokemon ocs I have haha. But I won't be getting into them here, or else this will be way too long for comfort. But before this post is complete, I wanted to mention some miscellaneous things( at the top of my head)
The Indigo league go through a "split". One E4 and champion for Johto and one for Kanto
This is done by Kenji, who felt like Johto was often undermined by Kanto and other regions ( mostly Kanto). He wanted Johto to get a chance to shine on their own.
Still called the Indigo League all together,as a sign of peace and companionship
Kalos kinda sucks and Jude's trying to fix it.
When you have stores that deny people entry based on how " stylish" they are, you know there's a problem.
Especially when the mad man who tried to commit genocide wanted to preserve "beauty" ( which comes in the form of rich people with elist and socialist views).
And the stigma against " evil" types.
So yeah. There's a problem that needs fixing.
Canon characters!
Silver is Chosen by Celebi. An odd duo I know, but think of the comedic potential, okay.
N is vibing with a non Chosen/Protagonist oc and honestly he deserves it.
Ingo and Emmet do reunite don't worry.
Hugh's sister, Hana, ends up becoming the new dark type Elite 4 member in replacement of Grimsley. No I am not kidding.
Red and Blue are the ultimate slow burn. They are getting married, don't worry.
Also Green's here too! She's Blue's sister in this au
Lear's here and Cheren's bf. Dunno how but he is.
There's so much more, a lot I probably haven't thought about yet.
Trainersona?!
Her name is Ruth! No that's not my real name. Please don't address me as that, just call me R.
She's a demi-god that just wanna chill with her Eevee but ends up getting roped into shenanigans. Please help her, she just wanna chill-
Okay! Now that's it! I'm probably gonna add more as time goes on, but yeah! You can ask about anything regarding the legendverse( my ocs, canon characters, Ruth), or just general pokemon stuff! I really don't mind, and would ramble about anything pokemon related lol. And……yeah. I hope you all have a good day/night!

It's hard to define what exactly counts as the "old" and "new" protags since they're constantly growing, but here's a run down of how I see the older protag ocs when they were kids....as in actually protagonist.
Jin- Angry, has daddy issues. Wanting to prove themself despite no one asking them to. Petty rivalry with Amber that turned into a big crush. Calms down around Wally, only cause they don't want to scare him. Actively questioning why they- the 12 year old- is fighting eco-terrorist.
Amber/Kohaku - Energetic yet awkward gal, very athletic. Started on the wrong foot with Jin, starting their rivalry....which turned into a big crush ( but that happened a tiny bit later for her). Loves pokemon and wants to know as much as she can about them. Amazing battler but that isn't her priority. Wants to get closer to her dad via studying pokemon ( so she too has daddy issues)
Kenji- Another energetic kid, dreams of being a hero like the famous Red. Very excitable, occasionally loses focus and tends to be reckless. Likes helping in any way he can, even if he finds it boring. "I'm gonna be the very best >:D". Wants everyone, both people and pokemon, to be happy and hate seeing people hurt.
Aiko- Just as excitable as Kenji, though wasn't that interested in battling til Silver called her weak. Not sure what she wanted to do with her life, not sure if she wanted to take up her dad's mantle as a pokemon professor. Stubborn with a strong sense of justice, is not afraid to throw hands.
Beryl- Only planned to be a professor's assistant to Professor Elm. Was not expecting to be the babysitter to two energetic 10 year olds. She takes it the best she can, aiming to fill the Pokedex. They want to prove her older brother wrong, in that being a professor's assistant is worth something. Level headed and honestly very chill, keeps Aiko and Kenji on a leash, while also being the first person Silver properly opens up too.
Danica- Very quiet, borderline creepy girl. Doesn't emote much, no thanks to her scarf covering her mouth and her bangs over her eyebrows. Only friend is Barry, who isn't put off by her at all. Always had an interest in battling and pokemon, and had the goal to be a champion for a while. No one knows what she's thinking, and has an eerieness around her. But she has a good heart, willingly putting herself in danger even at her own risk ( reminder that this girl is 11). May or may not be a bit battle hungry. People think she's the brains for Barry's brawn but honestly they tend to share the same braincell.
Kiran- Son of a problem professors aid, Kiran is Rowans professors assistant that is honestly rather lazy. Rowan forces them to go out with him one day and all of a sudden he's now taking a journey all over Sinnoh, something he was not planning to do whatsoever. But Rowan is insistent that he accompany Danica and Barry so here he is. He's trying ( key word: trying) to fill up the Pokedex for professor Rowan, all while getting wrapped up in Team Galactic which again, he did not plan for. Wants nothing more than to go home and crawl back in his bed....but he would be lying if the situation didn't urk him. Often it is the one raining Danica and Barry in so they can think of a proper plan. May or may not also be trying to stick it to his little sister who somehow has gotten more academic awards than him.
Alexis: A shy kid with big dreams of being champion. Cautious to a fault, Alexis tends to worry about what his journey might bring. He had a right to worry; he is a nuzlocke protagonist. His anxiety and depression grows worse over the course of the journey, but also his ideals and conviction to stop Team Plasma and help N. His friendships with Cheren, Bianca and his twin sister Elliot keeps him together, as well as the surviving members of his team. He's still not in a good mental state by the end of it all.
Elliot: Alexis' rebellious and loud twin sister. She's younger, don't believe her lies. Ready to take on the world and become champion, she wasn't exactly prepared to face Team Plasma and N. However she saw the way they affected her brother and those she cares about and saw red. She has a fighting spirit, and is stubborn to a fault. She hates seeing the ones she loves hurt, and vows to use all the power she has to give those who caused such pain a severe ass kicking.
I think B2W2 and XY are the transition point of the old era to the new, so I won't be going over them here.
Here's the ages of my ocs in their respective game
Jin- 12
Amber - 12
Kenji- 10
Aiko- 10
Beryl- 13
Danica- 11
Kiran- 12
Alexis - 14
Elliot - 14
This is from Emerald/ORAS to BW, if that wasn't clear before.

I will say, Aiko being Elm's daughter does make for interesting internal conflict. Cause unlike Amber, she has no interest in being a pokemon professor or going into that field. But given how, in my au anyway, johto is kinda always overshadowed by Kanto ( Oak often overshadowing Elm essentially), I think there's some sort of pressure on Aiko to follow in her dad's footsteps. Not by Elm himself of course, Elm loves his daughter and is happy with whatever she does in life. But everyone else? A less cute story. And like she's only, what, 10? Let the girl grow, damn. Maybe that's something I can explore more. It's a similar case to Hau in Alola where there are people who expect great things from the child/grandson of a famous person within that region. I don't think the pressure is as constant as Aiko as Hau, but still.
I dunno. I don't think everyone and their mother is pestering Aiko to live up to her dad's name and " make Johto proud" ( maybe some old heads I dunno), but it's like. Something in the background that Aiko is always so aware of. And again, she's only 10, she shouldn't really be thinking of her "legacy".
Maybe that's a theme? Kenji wants to be a hero like his hero Red, and Beryl wants to prove that her dream of being a pokemon professor is worth something to her brother. Both kinda want to prove that they are greater than what's expected of them. And then there's Aiko and Silver. Silver has the constant "legacy" of Giovanni hovering over his back and he hates it, actively trying to bury that legacy to the ground. And then there's Aiko, who doesn't exactly hate the person whose legacy she "supposed" to follow ( she loves her dad a lot), but is still burdened by it. It sucks cause unlike Silver, she doesn't exactly have a goal she just wants to have fun. Not a bad thing but maybe she feels a bit lost bc of it? Hmmm. She's giving Shauna vibes lmao.
I dunno. I think I'm getting somewhere but I still feel a bit lost.

Beryl: Guys? You texted me about something urgent- WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
Kenji, with his shirt raised: Oh hey Beryl you made it!
Aiko, with her blade staff: We need someone to heal Kenji after we're done -
Beryl: WHY ARE YOU AIMING A WEAPON AT KENJI'S CHEST?!
Kenji: Free top surgery :D
Beryl: NO!

The Gyarados that Legendverse! Silver ends up getting a gift from Lance early on in Silver's training as a Magikarp. While he has certainly grown a lot from the beginning of his journey, Lance wanted to see how Silver could manage to train "the worst" pokemon.
It was...a struggle to say the least. Silver knew what Magikarp would become. Big and powerful. A wonderful asset to his team. He also knew that he had to treat his Magikarp with respect and care. But when you literally have a pokemon that can just splash around, it gets....frustrating to train. His chikorita now Meganium was still able to do something, you know?
He would vent about it to Kenji and Beryl ( not Aiko. She's on thin ice. Vice versa with her to him). Both of them have him advice that he already knew: be patient, believe in Magikarp, yada yada yada. He got that. But it's hard.
Then, one day, Kenji told Silver of Magikarps ability to jump really high. Silver did not believe this, not at first. His Magikarp just flops around. But Kenji was insistent and it was starting to annoy Silver so he gave it a go. His Magikarp.....cannot jump for shit. It's laughable. But Kenji still swears up and down that they can, so Silver suppose he can give it another go.
And that's when the jump training started. Silver and Magikarp would train together to improve Magikarp's jumping. And again, it was frustrating, but with each training session, Silver and Magikarp's bond grew. Silver learned that his Magikarp was a bit of a goof ball, finding enjoyment in making Silver laugh or trying ( and failing) to do complicated tricks to impress his trainer and fellow teammates. But also that Magikarp had the will of giants.
Soon enough, after a long long time of training, Magikarp was able to jump 7 feet into the air. And Silver was proud! He praised his Magikarp endlessly, but Magikarp wasn't done. He wanted to go even higher. And who is Silver but to deny his pokemon that? So the training continues, much easier this time. Both Silver and Magikarp have gotten close to each other, understanding how the other works and what compromises can be done. And Magikarp was able to jump higher and higher and higher until....
One day. Silver's Magikarp was able to jump the highest it has ever gotten ever. And as Silver watched with pride as his little Magikarp jumped in the air, Magikarp began to glow. He glowed and he grew and before Silver knew it a faint Gyarados was in the air and was coming straight down. Silver got incredibly wet in the splashdown. But he didn't care. He was thrilled. Grinning ear to ear as he rushed over to his beloved Magikarp, now a Gyarados, singing him praises and giving him a lot of pets. He totally wasn't crying, that was just the water.

Thinking about Aiko again. I think maybe she starts doing the gym challenge after she's really fed up with Silver and is determined to kick his ass. I don't know if she'll complete it, since again, she just wants to kick Silver's butt.
Aiko is tricky cause I haven't fully figured out what she's doing in the johto arc. She's the secondary protag and Chosen, sure, but what is she doing.
Kenji is doing the gym challenge. Beryl is completing the pokedex and is trying to make sure the kids don't get killed. Silver is actually looking for team rocket this time ( and taking the gym challenge too, I believe). And Aiko is kinda just there. Again, she's important, she's a Chosen and the secondary protagonist, but I feel like she doesn't do much until Silver gets on her nerves. Like of course she can be traveling for fun, I'm not going to invalidate that but. I dunno, something is missing.
I find it funny that I'm now struggling with Aiko since I felt like she was actually solid for the longest time. She wanted to go on a pokemon journey for fun, Silver got on her nerves, she wants to kick his ass. Simple and effective. But now I'm feeling like there should be more.

Early Johto Arc, johto trio thoughts on Silver:
Kenji: Doesn't get what Silver's deal is, but is actively trying to befriend him and sees him as his epic rival!
Aiko: Speak get what Silver's deal is, and just think he's a jerk that needs a punch to the face.
Beryl: Doesn't know what Silver's deal is but whatever it is, it's very funny, she does not take this kid seriously.

Hmmmm
Considering Legendverse Johto quartet all having tattoos representing their Legendary.
Kenji: Phoenix wings on his back. Not related to his powers at all just think it looks cool.
Aiko: Either arm tattooed of crashing waves or a chest tattoo in the shape of Lugia's silver feather ( or whatever it's called)
Beryl: Nothing too big, maybe of their shoulder or thigh, a couple of turquoise crystals with a blue wind going in between them.
Silver: Hmmmm, maybe also on his back, but the lower part of it. In the middle is the image of a clock, and going up and down from are what seems to be branches or roots extending from it, each one having blossoming flowers attached. This could also be a chest tattoo, with the branches going left to right instead of up and down.
Of all my ocs, the Johtonian quartet are arguably the most likely to get tattoos ( next to Jin lol, which I never really discussed but they would).
Also none of the tattoos are related to their powers lol. They don't do anything, it just looks cool.
