WIP WEDNESDAY -- 12/14/2022
Woke up thinking it was Friday so happy Friday Wednesday I guess akjdfbadjbf
Here's a scene from an upcoming Security Breach drabble Hanging By a Threat, which I may or may not end up renaming actually because it is not going the direction I thought it would where the title would be relevant lmfao. Oh well. I can't figure out how to write themmm~ ♪ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Plot: Sun accidentally injures himself and is supposed to be resting as much as possible while they're waiting for the replacement parts, but that might be asking too much of him...
Unfortunately, fulfilling his daycare duties meant having to be careful.
And being careful meant getting this morning's lecture from the human manager.
"Sun, I mean it!" she scolded again, gesturing before planting her hands square on her hips. "No putting any pressure on that arm! We can't risk you damaging it further!"
"Okay, okay," he pouted in response, longing to say more, but a bit too distracted from the grumbled, bitter ranting also going on inside his head.
<Do you have any idea what you're going to put me through for the next few days?> Moon queried, annoyance laced throughout his tone. <No arm! Half our fans!>
"I said I was sorry, Moony."
"What was that?" the human asked, arching an eyebrow at him.
"I said I definitely understand! Nooo using this arm, got it!" he announced, flexing his fingers in the sling.
"And you've got to take it easy today. We can't have you overheating and damaging more of your components," she continued. "Only light work, if it's anything intensive, come get one of us instead. You got that?"
He nodded eagerly -- perhaps a little too eagerly, because he immediately felt light-headed with heat, his remaining fans spinning hard to cool him down from the frantic movement. He put his hand to his faceplate.
"See, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about! Only slow, deliberate moves today, big guy," she chided, softening only a little. "Don't want you passing out on us from, like, the robot equivalent of a fever or something. Keep those processors cool, okay?"
He nodded -- slower this time. "Got it."
