why would they think about trading 2 of their forwards and a draft pick for a defenseman when clearly the team is majorly lacking offense bruh

the guy who initially brought that up was the old isles beat reporter who is a known rangers fan lmfao he never had the isles best interests in mind lmfaoooo

but honestly i think because as a team, the isles really don't have many trade pieces teams across the league would think are attractive at all, especially for a rebuilding team like the coyotes. this isles team is aging and the prospect-age talent is minimal. their most attractive player (in more ways than one) that any team would snap up in any trade no matter who they're after is barzal and they'd be stupid to ever think of letting him go, and will never let him go. sadly i can see beau being included in any deal like this simply because he's still far younger than most of this team, and even though he can be streaky, he knows how to score and a lot of teams would want him.

the isles prospect pipeline is dry AS HELL. we need guys like räty and salo in the system. and the draft pick is a potential top 10 pick, imagine giving that up in a season still so up in the air for the isles. i get the isles until recently were considered a win-now kind of team, but you also can't fuck over your talent pipeline in the process.

dobson has matured this season into a proven NHL defenseman that can quarterback a power play and is putting up insane minutes every night. the hope is that salo can follow in his footsteps, and then we wouldn't need to acquire a guy like chychrun. and with pully coming back, it's only gonna make the defense stronger.

it's been painfully apparent for years now that barzy needs a shooter on his wing. that should be the number one priority this offseason. WE SIMPLY CAN'T SCORE GOALS. and the defense wouldn't have to work as hard if we had a shooter padding our leads to take the pressure off of them a bit. i've seen talks of maybe trading varly at the deadline to a contender, and honestly? that could be the move. it would free up so much cap space to get a legitimate scoring threat in the offseason like forsberg who's gonna be a UFA. just imagine him on barzy's wing 😷😷😷

it's even too early to determine if the isles are gonna be buyers or sellers at the deadline with how our season has gone tbh so this dude is just stirring the pot as usual
