one of the really infuriating things about security breach was that there were too many alternate endings that were just like. gags, but not really jokes. it was a funny joke in pizza sim to say that you got fired or went bankrupt or got lobotomized because it was both very obvious what the game "wanted" you to do (bring them all together for the party), and inherently silly, and the fake endings were slideshow illustrations while the real ending was a full cutscene

and then in sb, all the endings except the burntrap ending were motion comics, so it seemed like it was supposed to be canon, but i think it was just the only usuable one they had, and there was like. deliberately weird confusing stuff like vanny falling off the building and being vanessa underneath but vanessa in her uniform was still on the roof? that is not a joke. it's just like "hey you dumbys like it when stuff is confusing and makes no sense? here ya go!"

i'm glad ruin's extra endings are more sensical, like the secret camera scooper ending is a deep lore reference that's just like. fun for the fans and makes you feel accomplished, like the ennard fight in sl.

#a good secret non-canon ending in fnaf is either actually funny or reveals something about the canon that's true but the game couldn't show #like ennard's full design and ability to speak in elizabeth's voice #or the way that the souls were put to rest in fnaf 3 by evan (though we didn't know it was him yet) helping them to move on #or like. obviously that henry's secret archive files were real in the game but the player couldn't know them without 'cheating'

Thoughts(TM)

So I was thinking about my Afton!Yuu AU, specifically Yuu creating Fnaf 3 and the Happiest Day ending. I’m just gonna say right out (unless y’all have other ideas) that the alternate ending is an apology, a wish, and a way to cope.

An apology to Evan, for not stopping Michael’s prank in time.

A Wish, for things to have truly ended back then. For their father to have finally died, and for the little lost souls to have finally be put to rest.

And to cope, for things that never happened.

(Also the good ending music was played by Ms. Afton when they were younger. It’s calmed the Afton children down. Bad ending music was one of the potential music boxes William was gonna use for the animatronics. Bc I said so :P)
