I know I'm spamming with this. But I just can't be anything but heartbroken.
https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1767184731739697196?t=CO3GdBoIlDoNywEz-kPLVw&s=19
He said this just a day before being kicked out.
He had done the ads for their kits. And all the promo stuff.
Completely blindsided. How strong can a person be honestly? He had to get over being the scapegoat for tuchel, for twitter hate, for bayern bad run, for flick and now nagelsmann? He was prepared and probably had his bag packed for the break. How could they do this to him?
I mean what more can he do. If playing so well (I think we disagree here, I feel he has had a very stable solid season with not a lot of bad matches) can't get him in over a boy (whom I'm happy for I guess or I will be once this wave of sadness tides over) who has had like 2 months of experience, then what in the gd world will?
What's he gonna play for. If nagelsmann is saying leon was furious hearing this... I hope he didn't tell him he couldn't play. Why is the football world so unfair to him really ?
Do you think he'll make it to the Euros Bri? Honestly?
I hope he does.
Feeling so resentful towards the NT team.
It’s ok to spam me! I don’t mind 💜 I’ve been absolutely heartbroken too, so it’s comforting to know I’m not alone in that hurt.
I saw his interview response too, and knowing he said it just before the news broke is devastating.
Tumblr media
He’s only ever wanted one thing: to help the team, and I think that’s what hurts so much. How could he not feel inadequate after hearing that Nagelsmann didn’t want him—after learning that his hard work to get back to his best wasn’t enough?
He’s been through so much this season (and last season too). Like you said, he spent most of it as Tuchel’s scapegoat. And as if he hadn’t been punished enough, he’s also had to face the wrath of disgruntled fans and his fellow countrymen:
Tumblr media
You’re right; he probably had his bag all packed and ready to go, only to get a serious case of whiplash not long afterward, when he learned he wouldn’t be leaving.
We can agree to disagree here :) I think my critique is that while he’s put up decent performances in most matches, Bayern expects the exceptional. So when I say he’s had some rough patches, it’s because I know he can be even better. He’s shown us that before (Bayern’s treble-winning season being the chief example), and he’s shown us that again against Mainz. And like you’ve pointed out in the past, Leon’s far from Bayern’s biggest problem anyhow 🤷‍♀️
This round of call-ups was bittersweet for me too. I’m super proud of Aleks, but I’m also devastated for Leon, even if it is just a few matches. It’s a lot to process.
I know Nagelsmann mentioned it “wasn’t a pleasant conversation” with Leon, but he can’t really blame him for that. How would he feel if he was in Leon’s place—if he was denied the opportunity to represent his country?
My opinion on whether or not he’ll play for the Euros? I think it depends on his performances in Bayern’s upcoming matches. His fate is in his hands. If he keeps up his string of good performances, I don’t see why he wouldn’t be called up. Maybe it’s the delusion talking, but that’s my opinion. I still believe Nagelsmann left Leon off the NT as a test of sorts—as a means to see how he can deliver under pressure.
At the very least, much like you, I hope he’ll be there for the Euros too. We’ll have to see what to develops, as much as I hate to say it 😵

Leon MUST play in the EUROS. let's manifest this together for him.
Wtf is up with nagelsmann. Where is the pressure coming from damn.
This is so humiliating for leon no ? He mental fortitude must be on another level. I wonder what that conversation was with JN. Especially after having taken Pav under his wing and pushed for his selection himself. No way he knew this was gonna cost him his spot.
He is being dragged through mud publicly. I hope the strength that he has helps him and it pays off.
I am manifesting. I am manifesting so fucking hard 🙏
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe I’m being delusional and trying to rationalize the whole thing, but my heart’s telling me that, even though it’s harsh, Nagelsmann dropped him from the NT in an attempt to get the best out of him. He’s managed Leon at Bayern before, and he knows what Leon’s capable of; perhaps he needs more proof that Leon can perform at his best for the national team.
Still, that doesn’t make it any less disappointing and humiliating for Leon, I’m sure. He’s said countless times in the past how much representing Germany means to him, and hearing the news probably broke his heart, even if he’ll only be missing a few matches.
One thing we know though? Leon’s incredibly strong; he’s resilient and he’s been here before. I’m sure he’s proud of his little bro Pavlo for making it to the NT, but I’m guessing he’s also very aware of how much pressure now falls on his shoulders. He has to find a way to prove to Nagelsmann that he belongs on that squad. Still, like Manu said recently, he’s ambitious and a fighter. He’s got it in him, and he can do this. I have to believe that 🫶

Umm... obsessed with this! https://twitter.com/kochmaximilian/status/1752278968869233093?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1752278968869233093%7Ctwgr%5Ed25ad873a19c88c7856d1aedf691c7a31e5b7094%7Ctwcon%5Es1&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bavarianfootballworks.com%2F2024%2F1%2F31%2F24055398%2Fbayern-munich-sacha-boey-serge-gnabry-2006-trains-tuchel-tel-coman-muller-kane-sane-neuer-kimmich
Common Leon w 😌 I love how honest and sincere he is always. What you see is exactly what you get.
Tumblr media
I always love it when we get little glimpses into his leadership style. Communication is key from any leader, even when his teammates might not always want to hear it. Luckily for them, he balances his scolding with kisses and cuddles :)

Soo... leroy gets called up, even though he can't play, for team building purposes, but ... even with pav and mittelstat dude and neuer out... Leon can't get called ?
This feels targeted... don't you think ?
I honestly don’t even know what to think with the NT anymore 😔 don’t get me wrong, what Nagelsmann has achieved so far with the national team has been great (although I do think Toni’s triumphant return has certainly done him some favors). But it’s hard not to feel a little slighted by the whole thing. And if that’s how we feel, I can only imagine how Leon felt watching all this unfold right in front of him.
Now I love Leroy as much as the next person, but if you’re gonna call him up exclusively to boost morale, why not call up players who can actually fill in for those who are already injured (i.e. Leon)? I genuinely don’t know what was going through Nagelsmann’s mind on this one 😂 why wouldn’t you call up perfectly good replacements when you have them at your disposal?
Truth is, while it’s nice to see the DFB succeeding again, my biased self wishes Leon were there to see it :( it doesn’t feel the same without him (or Mats and Jule for that matter, but that’s for another post 🤷‍♀️).

Also here's my theory. I think have 3 older sisters, leon's never had a chance in real life to be a big brother that's why he takes on that role with the kids in the team! Jamal when he was younger, Tel and now Krätzig. I think he really motivates them and pushes them in the big brother sense!
It's so adorable how openly he expresses it too!
I adore this theory, oh my god. You bring up such a good point; he may not have had the opportunity to be a big brother to anyone in his family, but when he had the chance in his found family (good old FC Bayern), he took it. It’s so sweet how he looks after his younger teammates and constantly makes himself available to them for anything they might need, whether that’s a kind word, a tight hug, or some tough love (AKA forcing them to go to the gym à la Bambi—see below).
I love that he does his best to be there for Mathys, Frans, and Bambi—some of our squad’s biggest up-and-comers. He may tease them from time to time, as you can see with our poor unsuspecting Bambi here:

But it’s all love at the end of the day:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m reminded on something Leon said in an interview with UEFA, where he basically told us how important it was to him to take his younger teammates under his wing:
Tumblr media
For however standoffish the media and fans try to paint him, he’s always been there for his teammates when they need him. That’s why I couldn’t help but agree with Jo when he said Leon would make a great coach ❤️

Loved the RM to Bayern story! It's tough to support two teams but I for one am glad to hear you'd root for a Bayer victory if they faced each other.
I used to be an RM supporter too until I moved to Barcelona. Quelled and squashed, my love for RM I had to keep under wraps and it eventually faded away. And though I never supported BCN Idk why I somehow just quit football as a whole and when I got back it was only because Bayern or I should really say Leon with his heart against the homophobes v Hungary in the Euros, sparked my love for the humanness and beauty of this sport.
I'll forever be grateful for that moment as I remember thinking... hmm who this, brave man, whom does he play for and the rest is history.
Aww thank you bestie!! It definitely can be hard to juggle multiple teams, but I’m pretty sure I’d be lying if I said Bayern wasn’t my favorite of the bunch 😂
I didn’t know you used to be a madridista; the more ya know :) sometimes that happens…for one reason or another, you fall out of love with a club. But love works in mysterious ways; sometimes their rival captures your heart. Football is funny that way, isn’t it? I can understand the appeal of Barça for sure, especially when Messi was still there and they were at the peak of their powers. Even as a Madridista, I have to admit there was a true beauty in their football then. There’s also nothing wrong with quitting on football, even if it’s just for a little while; there’s some days where I wonder if it’s good for my mental health to love a sport so much lol.
That’s the thing about Bayern, right? They simply won’t be ignored. You gravitate to them whether you want to or not. That’s how it was with me, and it sounds like it was the same way for you too :) at their best, they’re all that we’ve ever loved about football.
And what an iconic moment that was, not just during that particular euros but for Leon as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the way he responded after the match too:
Tumblr media
There’s just something about his outspokenness, his willingness to stand his ground and fight homophobia like he did, that makes him special. He showed us in that moment what football is at its best. It’s about love—it’s this beautiful game that brings us together week in and week out to experience the whole spectrum of human emotion. And everyone should be allowed to experience that. Not only that, but he’s shown throughout his career that he meant that heart gesture with his entire being. He’s constantly speaking out against any form of discrimination and positioning himself clearly. He’s a class act; how could you not love him? He really is a brave man 🥹

I'm happy with how leon played yesterday, too. People seem to only want showboating performances. But his inconspicuous play yesterday offensively and defensively was so good! And the chances he's taking. I hope he's rewarded with some goals soon.
Me too bestie!! Sometimes I can’t help but feel that fans want these flashy, show-stopping performances 24/7, but there’s a beauty in subtlety too, isn’t there? Leon’s game sneaks up on you; it’s not as overt as you’d get from a striker, for instance, but a midfielder in his role tends to blend into the background a bit more. That’s the whole point. Leon has this natural ability to adapt on the pitch, to always appear where he’s most needed, fortifying the defense when it’s vulnerable but also providing another option in attack when the situation demands. His is a role that requires stamina as well as excellent foresight, the ability to anticipate where he can best assist in play. And that’s his true gift. It might not be as attention-grabbing or as captivating as that of his more offensive or defensively-leaning teammates, but he is the glue for that squad, and he is nearly always involved in the buildup, on one end of the pitch or the other.
I’d love to see his persistence and hunger for a goal be rewarded with a goal soon too! At the rate he’s going, I think we’re overdue for the return of Leon Scoretzka 😁

I was so worried about Leon as CB but he did so well! Albeit he wasn't challenged a lot. But so proud of him and the team! but that ASSIST! damn!
I was in exactly the same boat bestie! I was like, “this could go one of two ways: either he showcases his adaptability beautifully or he stumbles through one night in a position he doesn’t usually play.” He may not have been challenged a lot, but when he was he was always equal to the task. I’m so proud of the team too :)
That assist was so gorgeous and I’m not over it. In fact I’m still drooling 😂 definitely a worthy man of the match, if ya ask me :)

I just keep thinking about the dfb situation every time I see a new post on the dfb page.
I just don't buy it. I don't buy that hansi didn't take leon in because of his performances.
I think it's a mutual decision made among tuchel leon and hansi. It's just gotta be. Given our squad depth. We've seen how players suddenly get "injured" right before international matches and recover just in time for the following club match. And given our midfield depth with technically just 2 players... it has to have been a decision he, leon was in on.
Hansi is famously a leon enthusiast! There's no way he's suddenly changed his plans. I feel so sure about this.
That’s ok! It’s hard not to honestly, especially when that Leon-less lineup is staring us right in the face 😵
At the very least, I could see Tuchel and Hansi talking it over and coming to an agreement. You bring up a great point about our midfield depth as well. Thinking about it that way, it’d be understandable if Tuchel wanted Leon to stay with the club through international break.
Hansi is definitely a fan of Leon’s, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens now that he’s been sacked. Hopefully whoever the new coach ends up being sees Leon’s value as much as we do!

LOL TT subbing out Leon, the day Nagelsmann is watching and a week before NT callups.
When he wasn't doing anything wrong but then again the whole team was playing like crap.
I'll give TT the benefit of the doubt. But Leon was fine. if anything he's the only midfielder who got a couple of key passes and got some good blocks in.
Anyway. Bleh. What a shit match.
Bestie, I was so livid 😂 I’m just glad it didn’t affect his call-up chances, and that now we know for sure that Leon will be with the nt, because for a minute there I nearly lost my mind oof.
Leon’s been performing very well of late, and while that match may not have been one of his better performances, he was far from the only one struggling. I’m glad we survived that match, frankly 😅 a shit match indeed!
