PLL: OS Thoughts and Spoilers!!

Okay I just finished the first three episodes of PLL: OS and I have many, many thoughts and also I am totally hooked, but what I keep coming back to is this - 

This whole twin thing with Karen and Kelly HAS to be part of this, right? I mean, Kelly has played such a relatively small role in the show so far, it’s not like she has some clear purpose in the plot as of now. And yet the writers have gone to all of this extra effort to have Mallory Bechtel film scenes as both twins, use a body double for those scenes, edit it all together...instead of just having Karen be an only child, or giving her a fraternal twin played by a different actress. Would they really go to all that trouble just for the sake of having identical twins “just because”? I don’t think so.

I also have to point out that when she first arrives at the dance, Imogen “mistakenly” identifies Kelly as Karen. But was it really a mistake? Imogen used to be best friends with these girls, how likely is it that she would so easily mix them up at this point? And Kelly’s “twin-fusion” response seemed a little nasty and out of character...a little too much like Karen.

So I think it’s pretty clear at this point that Karen and Kelly kept up their switching places trick from earlier in the episode and it was really Kelly who died at the dance, with Karen taking her place and masquerading as her, and I will die on this hill (for now).

I wish there was a show like Pretty Little Liars except it’s well written, there’s no romanticization of pedocriminality, the plot and twists make sense and all the main characters are brown-skinned. I was expecting the most recent spin-off to be better but it wasn’t for so many reasons!

I still haven't gotten around to the new one on hbo. But honestly yes we just need more shows with brown skinned girls!!! Especially since the pll franchise was so good at making the girls accomplished in different ways. Like I loved shay Mitchell so much for being my first brown lesbian on a popular show!!!! But yeah I'm thinking of live blogging the reboot on my personal ( @aliciadreaming ) soon. Lmk if you want to see it on fhw or here!!! Or if you just want to chat about the problems!!!

The doctor is (back) in. Annabeth Gish is set to appear in the upcoming second season of HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars reboot, now titled PLL: Summer School, reprising the role of Dr. Anne Sullivan.

Dr. Sullivan’s return was announced Friday on the show’s official Instagram account, including a behind-the-scenes shot of Gish filming an upcoming scene.

While Gish is technically the first actor from the ABC Family/Freeform series to appear on the reboot, several familiar names were referenced during the show’s first season, PLL: Original Sin. Not only were Aria and Ezra revealed to be adopting Imogen’s baby, but the Liars also encountered Eddie Lamb (played by a different actor) during their nostalgic visit to Rosewood.

ok little pll rant i need to vent a little, so is it me or was that finale kinda lazy? i dont think its me since this is the third show in the pll universe that i've watched with terrible conclusions, so im just gonna start by pointing out how poorly A was executed, i mean if they wanted to hold out on the mystery they could've just left an open ending idk everything just screams lazy.

to point out some things i remember, 1) the A kills?? were completely ignored?? why kill people if its gonna have little to no impact, 2) MOUSE??? wtf was that did anyone understand what was going on in her end?, 3) the sex*al as*aults? film girl has so many dialogues about how those type of scenes are unnecessary and i get it, they didn't show anything but having three different occasions of r*** is so wild to me, 4) chip. SO PREDICTABLE, i have yet to see people talk about this show, the main reason for this rant is because i have no one to talk to, BUT they were talking about men being untrustworthy all the time it was obvious one of their boys was gonna turn out to be bad, 5) ¿kelly? they really had her end up with karens bf thats... something especially after asking him to call her karen, 6) uhhh that smurf dude? completely forgotten i laughed, 7) ballet girls bf? dont like him didn't compliment her curly hair, 8) OH train guy? completely brushed off as well, 9) imogen had a dad? and because her mom said she should live with someone else he just decided to ignore her existence? hilarious, 10) theater dudes being the worse just proves you can't trust film enthusiasts.

thats all i can think about atm, its been a whole day my mind is not as fresh, if anyone reads this, idk, thanks? share some fellings too.

Aria was never my fave but she's the only one I would watch a spin-off about if it was about Ezra getting MeToo'd and Aria finding out her husband has found a new teenager to prey on and going through the whole painful process of realizing she was groomed and there was nothing romantic about her relationship ever.
