Hello! What was your favorite tiara/jewelry moment from Sunday’s banquet? Personally I’m tied between loving CP Catherina Amalia’s sapphire moment and CO Elisabeth’s Wolfers tiara (and gloves) style.
Princess Catharina Amalia was my favorite, hands down! The Dutch Sapphire Necklace Tiara is one of my favorite tiaras already. I've been wanting Amalia to wear it ever since she turned 18 and she did not disappoint.

The sapphires looked amazing on her and I was surprised that she pulled off down tiara hair so well because I normally don't like it.

Also, she was wearing a substantial amount of jewelry very well. Even royal ladies who are older and have been wearing this kind of jewelry longer tend to shy away from wearing necklaces with tiaras for some reason. Just at this event she was wearing more jewelry than Crown Princess Mary, Crown Princess Mette Marit, and Princess Marie but it didn't look like too much.

This is the way you do it, simple cape dress in a stunning color and lots of jewels. Other than Queen Emma's Sapphire Necklace Tiara, she is wearing the small version of the earrings made from Queen Wilhelmina's Wedding Gift Tiara, both of the bracelets from Queen Wilhelmina's Wedding Gift Parure, Queen Wilhelmina's Diamond Trellis Necklace with optional sapphires, and a sapphire ring that I can't find any information about.

Crown Princess Elisabeth also looked great and I love that she wore the Wolfers Tiara because it hopefully means that Queen Mathilde will be a bit more generous with sharing jewels than previous queens so that everyone is not always wearing the same thing. I loved seeing Elisabeth and Amalia go together for their first big solo international event, they really reminded me of their mothers.

In the eighteenth century, a bed rug was a heavy duty blanket (texture like a shag carpet). It’s possibly where the idiom “snug as a bug in a rug” comes from, and it looks like rug/rugg persisted as a name for a not-particularly good blanket for some time! Looks like it persisted into the 19th century!
Good to know! I feel like I have heard that usage before, now you mention it.

Any tiara predictions for all the upcoming state banquets? Hoping for Queen Fabiola’s Spanish Wedding Gift Tiara on Queen Mathilde🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
@potofhoneypieceofstardust asked: Hello! Do you have any tiara predictions/wishlists for the upcoming state banquets?
Sorry, this is cutting it close!
Luxembourg to Belgium
Like you I really want to see Queen Fabiola's Spanish Wedding Gift Tiara. I would prefer the wreath version with aquamarines but I will take any proof that the tiara still exists and belongs to the royal family. Realistically, Queen Mathilde will probably wear the full version of the Nine Provinces Tiara.
I want Princess Astrid to wear the Savoy-Aosta Tiara because every time she wear's Queen Elisabeth's Diamond Bandeau Tiara I lose a little hope that it will remain in the main line of the family.
I'm sure Grand Duchess Maria Teresa will wear the Belgian Scroll Tiara because that's the only tiara she wears anymore and it has the Belgium connection.
Spain to the Netherlands
I want Queen Letizia to wear Queen Ena's Diamond & Pearl Tiara because she doesn't wear it enough but she will probably wear the Fleur de Lys.
I always love Queen Maxima in Queen Emma's Sapphire Tiara so I will choose that.
For Princess Catharina Amalia I'm going with Queen Juliana's Aquamarine Tiara because I'm a little surprised she hasn't worn it yet given how fond she seems of aquamarines.
I hope we get good photos of Queen Beatrix and Princess Margriet because the focus will surely be on Amalia. For Beatrix I'm going with the Laurel Wreath Tiara and for Margriet the Sapphire Necklace Tiara.
