The Mario movie waaaasssssnt very good in my opinion like it wanted to be too much it got a lot wrong more than what it got right~

I wish Peach wasn’t given a "tough girl" personality for the sake of being relatable to American audiences, it wasn’t bad it just wasn’t genuine :/ being girly isn’t bad neither is being soft you can be tough and badass whist being both you just gotta balance it, just wasn’t the Peach I’m used to.

Luigi and Mario needed way more screen time together like it’s called The Super Mario Bros movie goddamn it!!

The dialogue needed way more work like some of the lines weren’t corny? But they weren’t good???? If you caught it you got it.

They could have gone for more experienced voice talent instead of well known Hollywood actors like??? Seth Rogen really?

Christ Pratt ??? (like really bad choice also fuck that guy!) Like Jack Black was good but that’s because he’s an experienced voice actor also he’s Jack Black that man can do anything.

The video game easter eggs and references were cute and fun to catch. A lot of work went into the movie but it just wasn't what I was expecting. Illumination really gave effort in terms of style and staying true to source in some areas but fell short in the writing department.

The Sonic movie did really well but thats because Sonic is messy, hes had a lot of writers and has experienced failures and successes when it comes to games and comics. They weren't afraid to but him on film. It just felt natural to see him on screen.

Maybe too many creative heads? Maybe Nintendo butted in and directed too much? It just felt all . . . too Hollywood?
