De la mente de Jansen y Driessen

La banda europea de death metal sinfónico presentarán su nuevo disco Dhyana

MaYaN fue concebido a principios de 2010 por Mark Jansen, líder de Épica y su el ex-teclista de After Forever Jack Driessen, para escribir un álbum con el estilo que siempre quisieron. Mark le pidió al guitarrista Frank Schiphorst (Symmetry, Christmas Metal Symphony) que se uniera.

Al evolucionar en una banda formal, se agregaron a la alineación el baterista de Epica Ariën van Weesenbeek y el guitarrista Isaac Delahaye.

Pronto también los vocalistas invitados Henning Basse (actualmente Firewind), Laura Macrì, Simone Simons (Epica) y Floor Jansen (actualmente Nightwish).

Poco después, fueron seguidos por el bajista Rob van der Loo (ex-Delain). Con su primer lanzamiento, 'Quarterpast' (2011) la agrupación recibió un reconocimiento instantáneo en los medios, y los escuchamos por primera vez en el Hell & Heaven cuando aún se llevaba a cabo en nuestra ciudad. Después Laura y Henning se unieron como miembros permanentes en 2013.

Al siguiente año lanzaron su segundo álbum "Antagonize" cuya temática se refiere al estado actual del mundo en el que el espionaje está más presente que nunca y nuestra privacidad ha sido quitada paso a paso.

Debido a que ellos siempre han tenido un profundo amor por las partituras de películas épicas, el siguiente paso fue grabar un nuevo álbum con una orquesta sinfónica en vivo. Así nació el tercer álbum llamado **Dhyana que se refleja en temas conceptuales, como permanecer conscientes de nuestros pensamientos, y descubrir quiénes somos realmente. "Dhyana" es el momento en que la mente individual es absorbida por el corazón y se funde con la mente universal.

La Orquesta Filarmónica de la Ciudad de Praga fue elegida para asociarse en la grabación, conocidos por su trabajo en funciones cinematográficas como la saga Star Wars, Hannibal (2001) y Arrival (2016). Adicionalmente escuchamos tres EPS y sencillos el año pasado The Rhythm of Freedom, Undercurrent y Metal Night at the Opera.

Esta noche vuelven a la ciudad para otra velada memorable.
