I know their teenagers but this scene was so mean and in Nathan's defense, he just moved to town, he was supposed to be getting settled in, and meeting new people.
Of course no one noticed, the towns people just met him. His parents and friends probably/might have spoke to him before the possession. So, they didn't feel a need to reach out and even if they did, it's not like Harold was going to pick up their phone calls and play pretend.
