Just ended my first partial season on the ReloadedSMP Minecraft server! Was only there for the last 3 weeks of season 2, but I had so much fun! Can't wait to be there for the start of season 3!

I only had time to create a starter base and didn't get to finish it or landscape, so please forgive the naked side of the base, and hit or miss decor. I never really plan out these kinds of builds, so it's always nice when it turns out relatively well!

So listen, guys. This is not me weighing in on any specific discourse that is or has been going around. I just want to bring something up.

Discord screenshots are SUPER easy to fake. Like so easy. You want to see a screenshot of my wife getting whitelisted for Dream SMP season 2? I have it!

Obviously in this situation the other person didn't even try to mimic Dream's typing style, but the point is that like. You gotta remember that Discord allows multiple people to have the same username, it's just that the numbers AFTER the username are different. But those numbers don't show up in things like DMs. So as long as their username is the same you can fake it.

"But ruffboi someone might notice if one of their friends or servermates changed their username!" And you're right, they might. The thing is that also, for DMs, you don't even have to change your username. My wife took that screenshot. (and yes, I gave a couple people a heart attack with my icon change, but only bc I used my actual main account)

She nicknamed me in discord. So for HER I showed up as what she nicknamed me, "Dream", but for me I still showed up as me.

AND, if you go back to older messages, they'll still turn up as whatever nickname you give them. And add on top of THAT, if they briefly change their icon for any reason to one that matches or seems to match a person you're trying to implicate, loading old messages that may be inappropriate will show the new icon AND the nickname. Like so:

Never mind that, of all things, the easiest thing to photoshop cleanly, with effort, would be the icon. It's just a circle. Clean lines. REALLY easy to screenshot and (if you're careful) replace with someone else's icon. So if you have ever gotten inappropriate messages from someone (or messages that would be inappropriate if they came from someone else), then it's... REALLY easy to fake that.

I am actually NOT, despite the person chosen in our examples, taking a stance on any specific discourse, but I do want to show that just... if you want to fake discord messages, it is actually painfully easy to do so, especially if you plan ahead date-wise or have previous messages that could work for your purpose. Don't take discord messages as unequivocal proof of fuck-all, guys. Please.
