Thank you so much to everyone that came by my table @risd1877 RISD CRAFT Alumni/Student Sale! We thought it was going to rain but thankfully it didn’t, although it was still not the most ideal weather for trafficking paper goods. it was still a bit of a moist atmosphere in the morning & windier than I had planned for; last year I brought selections from my rock collection to weigh down my comics & other paper 🧻 creations but this year I was as DUMB as a ROCK because I forgot to pack em!after my pad on my easel acted as a sail & sent the whole thing colliding with the rest of my display, I battened down the hatches & resumed setup, clipping & fastening various products down to my table throughout the day. the moisture decreased shortly as did the wind. Every time I do a sale I curse myself upon seeing the pictures, I could have used the space better, this is twice as true at the alumni sale when I’ve got a full six foot table as opposed to the usual half table at the comics shows. But people were very kind & generous & I am very grateful to return to my alma mater for such a great opportunity to show my work. friends visited from @risdlibrary & @risdillustration including department head @sdoyleshedd @susandoyleshedd and it was great to see friendly faces new & old. Jim Camenga happened to be visiting from out of town, a customer from my online store from years and years ago. It took me a while to send out his order but I was happy to hear he still has on display the mail art I sent with the package when I finally got to the damn post office. I have not always been the most professional business man in the past, I must admit. I almost failed to return to RISD CRAFT this year even after this table was offered along with my award that they gave me last year “emerging artist award”. I’m so glad they had me back & thank you to everyone. Trying to be a better artist, businessman and person every day. If I owe you something please remind me. I owe a lot of people a lot, most of all my parents who decided to make a weekend out of this & give me a ride to school just like they did 10 years ago when I started at RISD.
